Just call him Gary! passionate and caring about teaching, not just a job for him. A lot of in class and at home writing all about your most personal feelings and experiences, I wasn't into that stuff but I loved the class and the writing was worth it!

Just give him a bow...HIs name is Gary...He showed me to go deep in my writing. Just do not be late, and miss class it's worth it. Gary made you feel like a family to open up and show true feelings. I am going to miss this class very much!

Gary was a wonderful teacher. I was able to express myself and show my true feelings within the class. The writing assignments were interesting and fun. But if you really enjoy writing , then you will enjoy this class. Its more then just a passing grade in Gary's class.

Be ready to be on a first name basis with everyone in class. By the time the term's over you feel more like a family than a class. Everytime you go deep you seem to end up higher than before. You follow the pain and an assignment feels more like therapy. I'm so thankful that I was in his class.

The best class I've ever had. Gary makes the students get to know each other while working hard, and develop a cool atmosphere which makes the semester seem like a month. It's a fun class. All you have to do is respect his leadership, he'll respect you, and you'll never forget this class again.

This is one of the best courses I took at BMCC. I had the blessing to have Gary during the first semester. Then as I moved on to other classes I realized how much he spoils the students. If you are serious about College you should take ENG with Gary without hesitation. It's a wonderful experience.

The way i see Gary.. he seemed kool the first day i met him. What i liked about him is making himself a part of us. He doesn't want us to call him Professor or anything that's not his name. I completely understand him because we read an essay about that "what's in a Name". There's more to say but this crap has a limit. Gary is a WONDERFUL person!!

Amazing, relates to everyone. A bit strict but for a reason. No yawning and lateness is evil. Gary makes sure everyone in the class is involved, challenged interested and productive. He grades fairly and makes every student feel equal.

This is the best professor I've ever had. He remembers all of his student's names and unlike many of the professors in BMCC he really cares about his students and if you learn something or not. Don't come late to his class do the work and you'll get an easy big fat A.

Gary is the best professor you will have in BMCC he makes you a better writer and a better person in life. Last day was tough on all the students a couple of us was crying. Take this guy but make sure you are not late.

Very bad! If you want to get A, don't choose him. If other professor rate you essay A, he just give you B.Don't trust the others rating. You come to college don't just want to share you feelings. If they only get the interesting class, don't care their grade, they are all crazy or lie to you.

To be quite frank, I feel that certain opinions in class should be kept in private and that professors should be a tad bit more professional and less opinionated. I feel,that the entire class is based on a book and doesn't really delve into the core fundamentals of writing. If you enjoy being screamed at or emotionally engaged take this class.

Gary is a cool down to earth guy, he makes all students call him Gary, he teaches yu writng skills that you wont learn in high school, also he teaches you life lessons. Hes never late, or absent. There are no words to describe how wonderful Gary is as a professor. Yes, he does not tolerate being late to class, but that is because he expects the best out of his students. If you are especially looking to become a serious writer, I suggust you take his course. He will let you know your errors and remind you everyday that you are a writer.

Some complain about his style but to me if you complain it means you're not ready for life and need to hide out under your bed in your parent's house indefinitely! Excellent professor! No nonsense! Gary is an amazing professor, he is not easy by any stretch of the imagination expect to read and discuss in his class, expect to dig deep in yourself and write about it. I took him for summer. Lots of writing, reading, and speaking. He is very powerful and charismatic. I was so looking forward to coming to his class every time. It was sensational. He's one of the best professors in BMCC. You will not regret taking his class. I had a 3 hrs class but it did not feel long at all. The class discussions are always interesting. He will never be late to class, and you should never be late either. The grading criteria is clear, so you should be able to get a good grade as long as you do everything.

Really great professor-a bit quirky but totally awesome. Don't be late!! Also, be prepared to participate even if you are shy. Final was in the form of a written essay which was a bit challenging but he gives you notes on how to prepare ahead of time which allows the students to be successful if you put the time and effort in.

I got a C in his class and felt I deserve a B- but I would deff take his class again. He helped me a lot when it comes to writing.

All I can say is AMAZING!!!! I took him during the summer and I couldnt have been any happier that he was my professor. Gary believes in all his students and doesnt ever make students feel like theyre opinions are dumb. He loves class discussions and makes his class fun! He loves what he does and has a positive mindset. Wish all profs were him!

You wont regret taking his class! Miss you professor Gary!!!

DO NOT BE LATE!!!! he's very caring, and it's a fun class. When handing in an essay make sure you don't have a lot of grammatic errors.

Gary hands down was my favorite English teach I've ever had, really understanding and overall a really good prof. Make sure you are on time to class or better be ten mins. early. He's lectures about life and ties it into the reading very well, you will not get bored with him around. Really wish I could have him for ENG 201.

whatever you do, do not show up late!!! Gary is such a funny guy and obviously loves teaching, which makes the best teachers. He is funny and has a genuine personality. I consider us close friends now. &quot;Do what good students do&quot; and you'll pass!!!

do. not. skip. class, or come in late. such a good teacher 10/10. so sad he only teachers eng 101 at BMCC. definitely take gary if you have the chance my friends

Professor Gary is the BEST!!! I wish he was teaching other English classes. I would definitely take him again. Hes inspirational, motivating, and a very cool person. Hes big on attendance and gives additional time to complete work. Just communicate with him.

This professor is an alright choice to go with at this school. I would advise everyone that this guy does not like silence so participation really matters here. He often would accept late work which is rare to find in a teacher. He can sometimes be sarcastic and at times rude but do not take it personally. Attendance is key to passing this class.

Honestly he's a good professor. He is really honest and relatable. What I really like about him is how passionate he is about what he does. To be fair just do the work and you should be fine. He always brings up the point how its your choice to do his work and if you don't then why get mad at him when that's on you. Which is fair and true.

Great Professor. Makes writing interesting &amp; smooth. Mostly personalization pieces. Total 4 essays, quick weekly discussion board entry, weekly module. No quizzes. One final exam. Gives good structure &amp; support for writing essays. Great grader. A will be obtained if you complete all work &amp; participate every class.

I honestly hated English in high school but Gary really made me enjoy the course. I loved the lectures. I would definitely take his class again.
