He is very good teacher. He explains material better than any other accountind professors. His exams are hard only because they are tricky.

He is a very good teacher. He explains everything very well. However you have to go to class and take notes in order to succeed because his tests are kind of hard. If you go to class and listen, he is one of the best teachers.

He IS a very funny guy and his lectures are very good and clear. You don't need the book. I loved him.

Definitely best choice for accounting. Course was easier because he teaches at night and doesn't give department exams. Not a very good teacher and I didn't learn much but I got through class w/ a B without being overly comfortable w/ material.

Best teacher I've ever had at BC. Really a first rate person and professor. Knows his stuff and is enthusiastic about his subject. Good sense of humor. Too bad his classes are always full. It's hard to get overtallies but worth a try. He's great!

Smart professor with experience in accounting industry, brings up stories from when he was working in the industry. Not very funny although tries hard to be, not very exact but teaches according to a lesson plan. Overall an above average proffesor for Brooklyn College.

Great Teacher. I learned a lot in his class about accounting and other things as well. You have to study for his tests, but if you study you'll do fine. Definately made accounting interesting.

This guy is GREAT! Intelligent, experienced and funny. What more could you want? Makes acct come alive, which isn't very easy to do. I wish he could teach every acct class. To you guys who say the prof isn't funny: Why was the whole class laughing? Maybe it's YOU, Not the prof.

Is he hard,YES--that is why i would never reccomend him. I'll give an example, on second test the cashflow statement he wans us to work with something we have never seen before. In the book and in the class and HW we worked with Assets Liab, and other stuff---the basics. But on test he gives something no one has seen before. By the way he is FUNNY

many students say that Pr.Testa class tough and complicated. I disagree, in his class i try to do homework 1 class in advance( and this is enough). I passed this class without any problems. And 1 more advice don't chit on practice test this will help you find what you missed in class and go through it before exam. He is not so bad as it sounds.

Greatest professor on earth! This guy is one in a million! BC is lucky to have him. Just do your work and you'll do fine in the class. I don't understand what you guys are whining about. Grow up!

Great Prof. Unfortunately, I can't take any of his classes next semester, but with the next opportunity i will definetily do that. Fair grader, answer any questions you might come up with. The only thing, if you are stupid and don't understand accounting at all, don't take him, it won't be that easy for you.

This professor is very smart, which we all know means nothing as far as teaching. Good things: 1st exam only covered 3 chapters, 2nd covered 1, and 3rd covered 4 - not too hard. Bad things: to me, he was too boring. is you can stick through it then the class isint that bad. -

If you want to be a CPA someday, take him. If you want to get by with minimal studying, maybe you should look elsewhere. I do want to comment that his grades are more than fair, as long as you studied.

Very good professor. Do your work and you will pass this class. Very fair grader and he curves. I got an F in his class. So that should tell you that this is an honest rating and accurate. Im looking forward to taking the class again with him. I failed the class because of personal reasons not because hes a bad professor.

He is eccentric. I think it is very hard to keep students awake in federal taxation. But he does everything to do just that. If you try follow what he says you might even find this stuff interesting, at times. Generous curves and variable grade weighting improved my grade by much

He is a nice professor. Even though he spends time on jokes and real life experience. His teaches what he is supposed to, and he is the first prof that can finish all the lecture he needs to teach. I didn't do too good on his Taxation class either, but he is still a professor I would recommand.

This is a hard class and you have to put in the time to get a good grade. Prof. Testa teaches well but he won't give you a free A, even though he does generously curve. I would definately recommend him, but be prepared to work.

best professor at BC!knows his stuff really well and definetely motivates interest in subject.his tests are not that hard & if you study,you'll do well.gives very generous curves(20pts).i learned a lot after taking his course. This guy is great! Combines real world examples with the textbook stuff. The only prof who combines what you're covering with current events in business. Tests are fair and he curves. This guy wants you to be a winner and he approaches his teaching from that perspective so, if you want to be a loser, take someone else.

Funny and fair. You need to come to class and read the book if you want to pass though.

He woke me up from my wishful thinking slumber. He gave me an F. And I'm taking him again! Look if you don't like Testa, than good luck with your future boss! I didn't go to his office hours, next semester I will. If you have questions, ask! Don't make my mistake. On the cashflows exam don't do Gliems! Know the format! Buy Gliems book!!

He keaps you interested and awake. Exams are hard (to actually test you) but gives massive curves. Will answer any questions at any time, and KEEPS YOU AWAKE.

he's fair, 2 test 1 final,all mc. u have to really do your hw and attend his classes. and make sure u got them right. all of his test is based on hw he assigns.he do explains to the students, pretty nice professor, but can be tricky questions on the tests.

My review can be summed up in two short sentences. Excellent professor at teaching and keeping the class interesting. However, he is a hard grader so be warned.

Took his class in 2001. Still remember concepts. it should tell you smth. regret didn't listen to him and didn't go to accounting major. Stay away from BMF, it's useless major for the job market.recommend greatly!

Entertaining class, but Prof Testa is tough grader. This C+ was the lowest grade on my entire college record, BUT if you want to get past the CPA exams, this is the sort of level you need to be at. Prof Testa is very willing to help and is available after class often for that reason. If you don't understand, SPEAK UP and he will go over it again.

This professor is absolutely the best in Accounting. He is difficult but he will teach you accounting. Make sure you come to class, he goes over the chapter really well, I would love to take him for other accounting classes, but my schedule wont allow it. Great professor, highly highly encourage you to take.

Wiat a second! He is a great professor. Not that bad! He is funny and explain the material very well. And he is smart! I mean if you want to become a CPA!!! Hell YES!! I got an F in this class but I am blaming myself 100%. This class calls for lots of extra work and practise. To me, Gleims book is the key to getting a good grade. Professor Testa is great, he knows his stuff and can teach well. It is up to the student to learn and do what is necessary to pass. Getting an A is difficult but not far fetched.

TAXATION. Testa is very knowledgeable, approachable and humorous. The 2 tests and open book final are fair. If you want to excel, come to all classes, take notes, read text book and do all HW. He curves each exam. In addition, if you improve in following exams, he takes it into consideration.

I surprised to see the above comments. Yes, his tests are not easy , but he gives you all information in class. Yes, he joked, but he still told you the material . He told me if I will do the final good I will receive the grade I wanted. I've got B. And he gives you the sample multiple choice questions prior the exam. The exam was open book, and if you know where to find the material you can search every question.

Wow! If any of the students below plan on sitting the CPA exam you should probably rethink your major. The tests questions mimic Gliems and CPA. I got an A, but studied about 20 hours per exam and prepared for them 2 weeks before. If you think you can pass by flipping through your notes the night before, you'll be whining like the people below.

I don't know why students keep saying a lot of bad things about this teacher, because is one of the best teacher in BC. The exams are not easy but if u study and came to class every day u should be fine.The material are well teach u just have to do ur part.He's a great teacher, i study a lot and i get the grade i deserve:A.He give u what u work for

Best professor yet. He is extremely helpful and will take his time to explain EVERYTHING to you. I did not even use a textbook that much i just googled and used class notes.. and most of all he looks extremely like BTK killer.

Took him for tax class. This guy is fabulous!!! He knows the subject well and communicates the material to his students. I wish all my professors were like him. He's a real college professor, not a high school teacher, and expects you to want to learn as a college student. He covers the material and expects you to read and listen. What do want?

Yes exams are hard but at the end of the day you actually walking out from the classroom with the solid knowledge! If you want to understand taxation and you like to work hard and study well in advance, take him, you will not regret it. (Only smart students should take him, if you are lazy and expecting an easy grade, stay away, he will fail you)

Amazing guy! He actually made taxation class to be fun! He is very professional, knows his stuff, always brings extra useful up-to-date articles to class to share, always on time and always ready to help you with your questions. I really enjoyed the class, and most importantly I learned a lot!

Well, I hate to say it... but exams were kind of... well super hard! I study a lot and well in advance, but still it was too much for me to handle. It was the hardest yet exam I ever took in BC. Maybe I just grew soft with so many other professors who curve 50%, so It is not Testa's fault than, its everybody else just make it too easy.

Testa is one of the best professor in Brooklyn College. His exam is hard, but i think thats what you should have in college level course. Testa is really funny, and if you take good note, you can even get a decent grade without reading the textbook. you can not slack off in his class, better work hard to earn the grade you deserve. i love him!

extremely helpful.always willing to help outside of class. you really learn the material, even though the exam is a bit difficult. but you u know math, its a piece of cake.dont take him if you are not good in math,or if you are not smart nor hard working.his class expect you to do the work and understand the material.i will defin take him again

He's a nice professor. Explains everything clearly in class. His exams are fare enough to score well. After each class just make sure u go though the materials and finish up be4 next class. He makes his class interesting by sharing his work experience. Almost got an A!!!

prof. Testa has an ability to explain difficult things clearly and makes the taxation class interesting. He carefully goes over the textbook,uses great examples to comprehend the material, explains every problem for homework, pays students' attention to tricky situations in law, makes me think. Prof. Testa is funny and good&honest teacher.

I guess I could say you will never find a professor like him in the acct dept. I took many professors at BC, Economic Prof. Goldberg is one of the best teachers I have ever seen. Prof. testa is also one of them. They both know how to teacher and how students will react. Good for BC. Good for you!

I am really surprised at the low rating. One of the best accounting professors in Brooklyn College, professor Testa is easy-going, knowledgeable, energetic and fun. Really tries to help students. One of the few professors who dedicated a class to go over tests and explain correct answers. The tests are easy; the class is not very hard either.

Great professor, he curves depending on class average I believe. Exams are really tough. You must do his homeworks to understand what's going on in class. He's very helpful outside of classroom hours. But he dosnt take late homework assignments or anything. Must read all chapters But very interesting and understand his stuff! Organized too

If you study and catch up with all assignments, you will do fine. This requires you to study. He tries to make jokes sometimes, but can be repetitive. Overall, he is a professor willing to answer your questions.

Everyone that says his exams are hard, they're absolutely correct. His exams require lots of studying.Hes very informative, he does teach. People that said he doesn't they're probably just never in class or don't pay attention. Take him, study, take notes and do his hw. He jokes around a lot if you're not careful it might lead you to the impression that the class is a easy. He's very knowledgeable about the subject & his tests are pretty difficult.The assignments from the book aren't mandatory but its the best way to learn, keep up and study for his exams. He races through topics toward the end but not his fault.

This guy is fantastic! The best professor I've had at BC. He makes the class very interesting and knows his stuff. If you want to be an accountant you won't regret taking his course. You will learn a lot. If you don't want to study take someone else.

I graduated in 2007 and took two classes with prof. Testa, he is great professor. I took with him Accounting 1 and Acc 30 ( Individual Taxation). For Acc 1 i got easy A just read next chapter in advance. For Taxation I got B- but it equal to A with another prof. I highly recommend him. He gives knowledges for lifetime.

great instructor! be prepared to learn and work hard. but way worth it. prof explained the material perfect. he was affable, funny, knowledgeable and gave real life experiences. INTRODUCTORY ACCOUNTING WITH HIM, followed by taxation and intermediate accounting. i've taken him for everything.

Prof. Testa is not an easy A prof. You must study to pass the exams. There is no review for the exams, so you need to pay attention in class. He explains the material clearly, uses a lot of real life examples, and he will go over the problems(step by step.) You must study for the exams because they are tricky! Fair exams but tricky!

I don't understand how this guy gets bad reviews. I consider myself a slight under achiever and even i'm doing well at this point in the term. His lectures aren't boring and will cut out things that he wont test you on. He'll explain the problems as many times as necessary. His tests are very balanced, 13 easy, 13 medium, 13 hard.

In an income tax course, he brings entertainment and interest. The test can be tricky, but if you study hard, it's definitely manageable. Taking good note would help, especially for the hw problems.

Great professor, he knows everything about taxes. He makes complex material very easy to grasp, keeps the lectures fun and gives real life examples. Taxation is a difficult subject, a lot of material, therefore attendance is a must to get a good grade, and he is the guy! 3 exams, 1 extra credit . Overall I highly recommend him.

BEST Professor in the school. Learn a lot! Very clear teachings! Take lots of notes. Exams are hard but make sure you don't rush and reread the questions! They are worded tricky. He gives you the answers for they final. He gives you samples on how his exam will be. Make sure you come prepare to ask a lot of questions! He is also very funny!

Grading: 1 - 20%, 2 - 30%, final - 40% and connect homework is 10%. Attendance was optional, gives clear explanation for each topic. Awarded everyone extra 10 points on the second exam and the final. Overall a very good professor for this particular course.

Taxation isn't supposed to be an easy course, but he did make test questions tricky and confusing which was unnecessary because it threw a lot of students off. You must take notes, and study hard. I like that we go over homework which is helpful. Hes a nice and funny guy. Also he gives reviews and a few answers for the tests and final!!

Great professor! My trick to doing well is to keep up with the material. Before we started a chapter in class, read the book. Without reading the book, you really lose out on some of the lecture. His tests add words to trick you, but it's a very fair exam. He added a curve to his last two tests so you don't have to be perfect to get an A. Funny too

Professor Testa is really nice (& funny) and totally not as scary as others make him out to be! His exams are a bit challenging, but his lectures and homeworks do prepare you for them! I kept up with the textbook readings and found his lectures very clear and understandable.

Professor Testa will teach you what real world accounting is like in the most entertaining way possible. For example, he made us write out a statement of cash flows for our cash flow exam. Also, he accommodated my busy schedule twice! If you could solve the long exercises without any bumps on the road, you should be able to take his tests!

If Accounting is your major and you are really willing to learn, then dont think a second, take Prof. Testas classes, and you wont regret it! HE points the main things in the chapter; YOU need to read the textbook, come to class on time, and practice the home works. Great professor who genuinely cares about his students doing well. He gives fair homework and material-heavy exams but if you know the material the exams are not so tough. He curves to make his class even more doable. You'll really come out of the class knowing the material.

I always had 1000 questions and he was answering all of them in the most polite and patient way. There are 3 exams, no written homework, no quizzes, extra credit project. Final is an open book
