A great gentleman, articulate, very smart and very helpful.

Contrary to popular belief Prof. Todd is a great teacher. I have never learned more from an English class before. Most importantly If you do the work you will do well in the class. Sure you will have lots of work in his class but he is an easy grader and a great teacher. Homophobics beware!

He is the worst professor I have ever taken. Not only is he hard, and has bad communication skills but he's very smug about his actions. Very hard teacher, very uncompramising! He seems like he's got a stick up his bum. Didn't like him at all.

I completely disagree with nearly every comment posted about this professor. i found him to be extremely helpful and clear about every assignment. There is a significant amount of homework, but if you have a brain and you do it you will get an A. VERY EASY GRADER! I renjoyed taking this class and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys english.

This guy is a good teacher and a decent grader, but he has a bad attitude. He's really uptight and his personality resembles the appearance of old ladies with tightly shut paper thin lips. I highly recommend taking him but with the advice that you can't take your feelings too seriously in his class because he can be a jerk.

Pretty funny that this teacher has two pages to rate on and his Eng. 1 students all rated on one page...and all his students from the "prep for eng. 1" classes rated him on this page- all w/good reviews. I think the same of him as the reviewers do on this pg. He's a great prof. Don't listen to the reviewers on the other page.

Do all the work on time and you're fine. An A is possible in his class... I thought that he was going to hate my research paper...guess what...I got an A!!! (I wrote the absolute minimum of 6 pgs., so don't think that you'll please him by writing more...6 pgs. will do)...take this guy, he's not as bad as he might appear at first.

Mr Todd is a very good professor. The reason why he grades analyticaly is because he was an editor,and for all thoose who dont know, editors correct the errors professional writers make before their article gets published. heh. So for an easy A Do not take him, for a good foundation english then he is a must have....

Nice looking man with a pleasant pesonality. I had trouble understanding some of the concepts and he was more than willing to give outside help as much as needed. He really prepared me for English. One of the best professors at SMC. He really knows his subject matter and is passionate about what he teaches.

I would recommend him for english 21A because he knows what he is talking about. My only complaint would be that he is very picky on essays but he is a editor so you cant expect him to go easy on you....be ready to do work but if you follow along you will get a decent grade.

Organized instructional approach.

this class was easy and alright. all you have to do to get an A in his class is past the post tests at the begining and end of the semester, get good grades on the test(which are extremely 123 simple) & do the assignments. This class was not at all stressful like some classes can be. If you want an english class with a laid back teacher take todd.

for both 21A and 23 it was super super easy but he does give a lot of work. if you miss class he isn't going to like you very much and probably get an attitude with you.

If you get anything below an A, drop out of school NOW! doesnt get easier than this

He's not a hard teacher. Writing assignments are explained with handouts. You can't make up textbook HW so attendance is a must, you will b dropped if you miss more than 4 classes.

I would highly recommend him for a teacher. He wants you to succeed & he's not a difficult teacher. He doesn't mind you chit chatting as long as you complete the class assignment -which isn't hard anyway-. Also, he doesn't mind you asking him as many questions as you like. He's also willing to skip you to a higher eng. class & not hold you back.

Incredible Profesor. I've learned so much from him. Very sincere, smart, well educated. Would highly reccomend him. Great sense of humor, just ask him about Hojo's. Take his course! He really knows his stuff! Plus he's cute too!

Mr. Todd is the best professor I have ever had in all my years of schooling. He is understanding, thoughtful, and helpful in every way possible. Before this class I hated English, but his way of teaching has spun my whole outlook around. There is a possibility that I want English to be my major. take him if you get the chance. very good professor!!

Great professor. Easy class, mostly review of high school English classes. He loves class participation and when students ask questions. He's very thorough. Wants his students to get ahead.

Todd is a wonderful professor. He usually let you do over your Essay for a better grade. He is a great person to talk to, and he helps point out your weakness, so you can strengthen them. I enjoyed reading the book he appointed because it was not boring. If you want an A, you need to do your assignments, journals and essays with full potential.

Awesome teacher! Helps a lot and most of his work is easy! got a C even though i did all the work so that's the only thing that bothered me about the class.

I LIKE THE CLASS, HE IS VERY HELPFUL. I HAD TROUBLE WITH THIS CLASS, BECAUSE IT WAS VERY HARD FOR ME WITH THE VOCABULARY. Honestly I don't understand how Mr Todd has such a low rating. If this isn't your major I guess you'll strive for an A or if you don't speak English well. I honestly adore this teacher. If he taught higher levels I would be in every class. I wish he would teach more. Absolutely wonderful to listen to and incredibly helpful. He's an incredible teacher. Always take him for any class. I still talk to him this day and ask for help!

Prof Todd is an awesome professor that will encourage you to improve your writing skills. He will focus on a students improvement and effort. This will SEEM like an easy class and you might think you are not learning- but believe me, you will.

Mr. Todd is a great professor that expects a lot from his students. He does give out a fair amount of work. A lot of articles too read and annotate. A lot of writing essays. I believe that he is a tough professor because he pushes his students to be ready for the next level of English.

Professor Todd is definitely a teacher that gives plenty of work. He's love work to be done step by step, but he's an amazing teacher. He'll help you get through anything until you fully understand. Love love love him. JUST DON'T BE ABSENT!

Very Easy! Do your work, Learn Your Grammar, Get waived to English 1. Meet with him during his office hours. Perfect Attendance is Automatic A in Final also means you do not take the final. If you wanna get waived and save time/money then step it up. He is kind, funny, hard, very committed to his job. Your lucky in the Fall he gives you breaks.

I loved this guy. Got to read fun poems, short stories and a drama. Just write a journal entry for every class (due at the end of the section) with your thoughts, questions, etc. Vocab tests + extra credit. Few essays. Pretty easy grader. However, I didn't feel like he pushed me academically as much as I wanted to be for a English class.

I took prof Todd for Engl 2 in Spring 2017. As I am an ESL student I have a lot of grammar issues which brought my grades down a fair amount. He is definitely an amazing teacher if you want to improve your writing. His class is tough and you will need to read and write a lot, but your skills will be so much better. Definitely not an easy A

I don't understand what people have to complain about Professor Toddif you don't do the work, don't expect him to do it for you and give you a good grade. Do the reading, be prepared, participate because he'll call you out if you don't, and show that you're willing to learn. He's really kind and approachable so visit him during his office hours!

Even though it is a community college, be sure to work hard to get a good grade. Don't complain about not getting A when you skipped a class "a few times" and did not put enough time and energy into the assignment. If you show your efforts into it, he will recognize it and give you a good grade.
