Horrible professor. You turn in your homework before you even go through the lesson and does not give enough time for exams. Avoid his class like a plague.
Good lecturer, but far too many tests and not enough time to review hw. He also collects hw often times before the lesson has been covered.
Mr. Woods needs to help the students to pass by taking his time in lecturing. It doesn't matter how many chapters get down but it matters if the student understand the materials. He's a good teacher but very hard to pass if you miss 2 classes.

Tough class, but pay attention and you'll do well enough. It's true that he collects hw before going over the chapter, but work is graded based on effort. He wants you to try doing the hw so you'll know what to pay attention for in the lecture.
never never take Mr. Woods if you want to get a good grade. extremely hard, but you could really learn a lot. if you are accounting major, he's a good choice, if you just want to take accounting for GE, never take him!
never take his clas in summer session....i took his summer acctg 1a class..and spend every nite studying..still can't catch up at the end...tests are hard..but he's a nice guy...and can learn stuff from his class
to all acctg or bus majors, don't take his class. he lectures straight from the book and gives tons of homework. he is an semi retired lawyer/accountant that will put a dent on your transcript. i drop after spending 4 hrs just to complete hw. good luck yo
He made the concepts understandable but he gives horrible scantron tests with too many questions and not enough time. I had to drop the class.
Excellent teacher~~but he gives horrible test......good for all acctg and business major~~T.L.
i hate him never take him but if u do pray to god u'll pass he shows no mercy in gradeing, if u miss one little thing on his test then its wrong.... he shows no mercy, and also he likes to emphasize that hes a lawyer and how hes very detailed.
This lecturer loves what he teaches. He is dedicated to helping students and giving students the best opportunity to succeed. He gives examples from experience and imparts knowledge thoroughly and creatively. Prioritize, study, and stop criticizing.

Although it's understandable that he wants his students to learn, the homework load that he assigns is far too much for the average student. If accounting is the only class you're taking, then go for it.
Passionate about teaching and very dedicated to helping students achieve success!
He is very nice and a easy teacher to take. I like the fact that we can do the assignments on line.
He is a nice teacher, you can learn a lot from him
This guy is crazy hard. It's due to the fact that the semester is shorter and he pushes really hard to get through the content. Consequently, he gives A LOT of homework, (twice as normal as any other teacher) and he breezes through the chapters.
I droped from his class....HE IS XXXXing HARD!! pray...if you already registed to his class..ha ha ha......
He is freaking crazy!!!! You can't have even a little bit wrong in the answer or you are dead. You wont even have a chance to complete the test in time!! Freaking killer! Why I pick he by his harmless name!! He should work in NASA or FBI, not PCC!!!
come on.
This is the easiest class at PCC. Even my dog could get an A from it. Everyone should take this class just for fun.
his tests are tricky..u have read the book thoroughly..he seems to make u memorize the whole book...he gives a lot of hw and tests..i have average 1 test/week in a 16-week semester.. his lecture is very clear and u will learn a lot from him
MINIMAL HOMEWORK. THE TESTS ARE EASY -1/2 THE QUESTIONS ARE FROM A WORKBOOK THAT HAS THE ANSWERS IN THE BACK - HARDEST PART IS THE PROJECT BUT EVEN THAT IS PRETTY EASY - READ THE BOOK IF YOU WANT TO LEARN AND BRING A PILLOW TO CLASS.
very nice and acknowledged teacher. i can really learn something from his class. as long as you put great effort on his class, it is not hard at all.
He is very "by the book", which makes the class a little boring. He's an ok teacher. But everytime I went to that class I just wanted to go to sleep.
i dont understand how people put a good rating for this profe. this guy is a killer, the most notorious hardcore accounting instructor in PCC. by the middle semester more than half dropped. less than 5 got A. RING A BELL?
Not extremely easy IMO. The third meeting in the FALL semester was Quiz 1. You have to write in your book ALL THE TIME and it gets to be a little too much something. A little overwhelming for a 3 hour class and he does not give breaks.
Hardest accounting teacher in PCC. He assigns homework before he teaches you how to do it and the homework is freakishly hard. Very unclear during lectures. Tests are extremely difficult and he gives only a small amount of time to complete them.
I have seen acct tests posted on the internet that are much harder than his. I have never seen an essay question on his tests. Actually his class is very easy compare to many others. He is very nice to us.
All of questions in the tests are too complex, and your lecture that makes me not understand actually, which causes a lot of people fail in this class.
He is the best teacher. You will consider his class difficult only if u don't work hard. Otherwise, u won't fail.
he is one of the best teacher that i've had ever had. i'm very disappointed that he doesn't teach 1B because i definitely will take his class. i truely apreciate him because i'm walking out of his class knowing everything required to know for acct 1A.
BORING! Tests weren't that bad, but had no consideration for family emergencies or problems that might cause a small problem with class attendence. Unwilling to assign alternate projects for students unable to comply with his normal project.
tough, tough, tough, has me reconsidering career choices.(just kidding). But he is very tough. test are to long, to hard, and to often. every three days and they are like mid-term or finals. to many notes not enough interaction.
If you choose a major Accounting, taking his class. you will have strong base of Acctg in next level. While I was taking in his class, I really hated him. Now, I appreaciate his pushing us study. My head was not empty.
hard hard ,never teach before your hw
Very hard teacher, i think he is a bad teacher, he doesn't even teach you the homework before you do it, what kind of teacher is that? you are suppose to TEACH,he is very boring, he does not give breaks either, not good at teaching
He can ruin your chances of transferring to a good school, do not take him, he can also presuade you to change majors
he is good teacher, his note is very helpful, before the test, should review the note and you will get a good grade. of course, you need to work hard, if you want to be a accountant, take him!(best choice in PCC)
this teacher is quite tough. he gives chapter questions (about 10-18) and exercises, problemshomework every class and expects us to turn it in all on time even if the exam to study hard for is the next day. his exams are very very difficult and LONG, and he gives us EXACTLY 1hr to finish all problem
Great teacher. Explains everything clearly, gives great lectures. Yes, there is A LOT of homework and notes - but you will learn. Only hard if you don't try. One of the best teachers at PCC.
It's not that Woods is a difficult or terrible instructor, Acctg 1A is a hard course to take and there is a lot of homework. Dr. Woods is a great instructor! This course requires many hours outside of class. If you are not willing to put in the extra time then you should reconsider taking it at all.
He makes this class boring, he DOES NOT GIVE YOU ENOUGH TIMES ON THE TESTS, strait A students get D's in this class, He is not helpful. and he is quite rude and obnoxious.
He is a really had teacher, unless you really want become an accountant don't take him. He thinks that he's tests are easy(easy for him). Most people can't finish the tests on time. I think it's good to be hard, but it doesn't mean that he suppose to Fail all the students......
Impatient, rude, insensitive, difficult misleading exams with restricted limited time, unreasonably assigns excessive homework than needed, seldom accessible outside classroom(never around when you need him),unprofessional(brags personal life & wealth;who cares?). If you are a machine take his class
Accounting 1A: He gave us too much homework, and hard tests. And he is mean teacher I ever seen! to students whom he hate. Business12A: it is better than accounting class, but still hard.
Lots of homework! but if you study hard, you can get pretty good grade. He is really cold and strict. I can say about this professor is really COLD,STRICT,HARD. NOT recommend.
Do NOT take his class UNLESS you plan on becoming an accountant. Otherwise you will be hammered down constantly week by week, class after class with A LOT of homework and difficult exams..say goodbye to your all your freetime! He teaches at a fast pace and goes through important concepts quickly too
He is like a robot. You can't ask him questions, he won't help you during the conferrence hours, and gives you tarde if you are late 1 second. You will stady as never before, but you'll get low grade because he won't give you time during exams. If you want to hate accounting, take him!
All his chap tests are based on the T/F+multiple choice ?s from the study guide.Do the study guide and his tests are easy to pass.He assigns too much homework and expects you to do them in precise format in syllabus or else he will hand them back and u get no grade. Boring teacher, cold, strict.
very strict,cold,boring,rude/impatient lazy po-faced teacher. assigns too much homework, makes students memorize concepts rather than learning acct. in interesting way. difficult/long tests + short time to finish, rushes students out of class, teacher never arrives to class on time always late.
Y DOES PCC HAVE HIM AROUND?
LOVE this professor! One of the best at PCC. I highly recommend you take him for Business Law. Although he assigns a lot of homework, he is a nice teacher and you will learn something from his class.
Goes straight to lecture. No hello or anything. He assigns so much homework that you cant even get work for other classes done. he starts tests after going over new material so you forget it when the test comes and never gives enough time. It seems like his primary objective is to fail everyone.
he is a dumbass, i hate him, ever.Damn it, i was getting a C before his final exam. after that****,i got a damn D which hurt my GPA a lot.
ruff, ruff ruff ruff ruff. ruff ruff ruff! ruff ruff ruff ruff A. ruff ruff ruff ruff ruff ruff ruff ruff ruff ruff good professor! ruff ruff ruff ruff ruff ruff! ruff ruff ruff ruff ruff ruff ruff ruff.
His lecture is very clear. If you really want to learn accounting, take his class!
He will take any student and break their spirit with loads of homework. If you have a job, g/f or b/f, life, or maybe you require sleep now and again. Then this class ISN'T for you. I've gained 10 pounds from not going to the gym due to the homework load. if you take him, you're a moron.
Don't ever take his class during winter session. It will take over urlife. He is the most boring robot-like teacher ever! He assigns a****load of homework and if u don't do it or fall behind in this class, you're screwed. If you're good with econ and bussiness, this class may not be so bad for
He is very difficult to people who expect an easy class. His HW and attendence are very important. I got A before he deducted my HW and 2 days of absences. He really counts each hour you absent and then deducts your points. But he is a very challenging teacher, you can really learn!
he makes sure that u understand his materials. if u do all the problems and study his note that he gies out, u will do will on all his tests. all of u stupid people who doesn't like him. don't go to school anymore cuz u obviously can't do s***.
yeah. You dum-dums should major in BSology or something. Woods is a decent professor.
Dr. G Woods is an excellent instructor who cares enough about his students to teach every lesson, to be available at all times, to give a quality lecture including current business events, and to clearly explain each assignment helping students to understand the material -- TOP CLASS!
Never take this instructor! HE HAS NO IDEA WHAT THE TEACHING IS. He just makes you write in your book some stupid notes, and highlight all over it. You can read the book yourself!! His lectures are waste of time!! He assigns so much homework that nobody can handle. The worst "teacher" I've ever had.
Woods is a very great professor i have ever seen in PCC. He helps u a lot, and asks u to prepare hw before he is going to teach that chapter. Also, he explains concept extremely clearly and all u need to do is working hard then u can get an A
Professor Woods is highly professional. And this high standard is what he tries to instill within his students. It takes a quality person to do this. His teaching is excellent - creative visually, includes current topics, is very clear, and his approach is fair to all. He is the best teacher I had!
i suspect he's been writing it up here himself! u'll never get the stink off once in his class. he'll drive u to be the giant ass u ever thought u could. stay sane by staying away from him.
I had my doubts when he called himself "Doctor" Woods. When a lawyer insists on being called "Doctor" & having no doctoral Education (M.D./PhD.) only a J.D. and MAcc.you can expect an uphill climb. The Homework &lecture plan was always a week off & not enough time for tests. I agree with others;Bad!
I have had my share of professors both good & bad,for this one, I highly recommend that you avoid him like the plague.Since the lecture is a week ahead of the homework. If you don't understand the homework you will be get a zero for the assignment.I am taking this class from prof. Ho...100X better!
He is clear, but not easy. I am taking his class and getting "A" in every test. Honestly, I do not like the class that much. But he is a good teacher. He knows what he is teaching. If you are willing to work hard, you will be fine.
Expect alot of homework and pathetic teaching. Makes you (and I mean MAKES YOU) write stupid notes in your book. His teaching is merely regurgitation of the subject matter and is not necessary to understand the material. Tests are too long and also be very aware: he starts role 5 minutes early!
Horrible just horrible! He makes the material hard just to make it hard. He's the type of teacher who thinks he's good teacher b/c he can make people drop. Save your time and sanity and take this course from anybody BUT HIM!
Yes, he is hard. He prides himself on being the drill sargeant, you go through bootcamp when you take his class. Once you take your upper division accounting courses, you're well prepared. His notes in the book are there for a reason, to highlight the important stuff. He's tough, but fair.
void him if you can, if you are slow thinker and writter, on his test was time limited but he is a good instru...
OUTSTANDING in every way. He is clear in teaching the material and is truly interested in his students actually learning and understanding the material. His test are hard but they are over the homework which he goes over thoroughly. All test questions come from the homework which he definitely expects you to understand. If you want good prepara
He's one of the best teachers on campus. He clearly explains the basiss of accounting. If you will take ACCT 1B next, strongly recommend his class.
HE IS UNFAIR!
Alright whoever said this class is hard and couldn't understand didn't try. Just do the study guide w/ t/f and mc and make flashcards with each ch. definitions and you're straight. I'm not a straight "A" student but i got a "B" in this class! if you a business major like myself you'll like this class! dont let him intimidate you!
A lot of homeworks. But explanation is very clear. Tests are hard because the time isn't enough. He is smart so as his tests. Don't take hime if you don't have any accounting knowledge. But if you have accounting back ground, he is the best. He is not easy. Super hard.
Did i take the same class as those who said he was easy? His tests are hard because it could be A, it could be B, it could be A and B or C and D or none of the above. The idea of a test is to see what i know, not what i can decifer.
He's a very tough teacher to learn accting from. I've done bookkeeping for years & it's a good thing, because he never truly EXPLAINS much. He makes you take notes that don't help you understand the chapters, just add more confusion. His tests are VERY hard - there are questions in which he gives you info to trip you up! Nice guy, not a good tchr.
He is a terrible professor! His tests are very hard with those tricky questions and you have to finish it within 50 minutes only!!! Never explain the material clearly. He's meant and crue to the students. DON'T TAKE HIM!!!
BEST INSTRUCTOR I have had at PCC. He is hard but very fair. If you do your work and pay attention you can do very well. He is always available in his office to talk with and is willing to help the student - I like him and would definitely take him again!! Do your homework and you will know what will be on the tests.
This was a great class - I learned the law and how the court systems works. The instructor is an attorney and adds real life experiences to his lectures. There is a court project (going to court) which is at first hard but very worthwhile in experiencing what really happens at court and how to file a case and pursue a claim. GREAT CLASS!!
I really enjoyed this class. The instructor really understood the material and he was extremely organized and prepared. I feel that I am very prepared for the next classes and for the upper division classes when I transfer. I like the way he put the homework material into the tests. If you did the homework, you were prepared for the tests.

He gives you the notes which is very helpful in understanding the textbook. As long as you study , you are O.K with the test.
Very easy if you do the hw
Was a very good class. If you come to class and take all the notes he gives you and study them you can get a B or better. He is a good teacher and doesn't go too fast. Waits and makes sure everyone understands what was thought and that everyone is at the same place before going on. Goes over homework so you can study them later for tests. Would recommend him to everyone.
Was a hard and boring class which he made interesting. If you read the chapters and do all the questions and problems in the study guide book you would definitely do good. He makes you go to court and do a paper but the paper is not hard. If you do it the way he wants it you can easily get a C and then if your writtings on each case is good you can get a B or even an A. Would recommend him if you want to take this class.
...to the nerds.....yes hes really good at wat he does notes are clear always willing to help out, and as long as ur on top of things ud love him.......to the average joes and jane......u mite wanna sit in the front row cuz ur gonna have some problems.......hes one tuff teacher.....but if u can pass his class with a C u will do VERY well in Acctg 1B.....but nonetheless i HATE him as a person........but he is without a doubt a good teacher.....
almost impossible to take during the summer or winter, i droped cuz it was too fast. A very good Business Law teacher i got a B in the winter for that, Nice guy but does not give enough time to take tests.

This guy is nuts. He does everything you wouldn't want a teacher to do: lots of hw, lots of note taking, back to back tests, really tricky tests, strict grading, anal about attendance, and the list goes on. On the good side, he does teach well and he's always willing to clarify stuff. Unless youre super academic, avoid this guy if you can.
Even though this class was tough, i really enjoyed it because the info learned is pertinent to your life in general. His project teaches people how to sue and it was an invaluable experience to me. Dr. Woods is demanding and strict but you'll definitely learn something in this class. He's also always there for his students.
Firstly, I need to agree he is a good teacher. If you want to learn something, he will be the one who can help you.The learning process he designs is very tough.(I only get B)But if you went through it, you will find you did really learn something. However, getting A here is NOT EASY.You have to work hard and need to have good luck during the test
super hard teacher
Dr. Woods is a wonderful professor. He is very clear and concise with details and wants all of his students to learn. I highly recommend him. However, if you want to have a lot of spare time while in his class, it is near impossible. There is a great amount of homework and tests throughout the entire intersession.

worst class ever!!
this guy is not so good he grades so hard even for tiny things he takes points out, his lectures are so fast and he likes to gives tests anytime be carefull this guy is not for you.
Don't take his class cause He's very difficult and you have to really do all his work. The exam very hard and tricky. However, he is very good explaining and teaching. you will know a lot from his class
PLEASE DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS! i dont care if you are an A student or triple A student, just dont take this guy's class.
give notes, helpfulness, but hard
Freaken hard!!!!! If you dont like studying dont take this class... i study for this class, its hard... he deducts every mistake on your exams... even for the littles mistake, their so RIDIUCLOUS!!!!!!
He is not as hard as it sounds. He is a wonderful teacher and I really like him alot. He lets us explore to the real world by assigning us to the court as part of our project and it really helped me in my personal life. But one thing i must say is that he is not for lazy students.. higlhy recommended for those who are serious with life....
Dr. Woods is a very thorough and practiced professor. This class was very tough (especially in the summer session with nearly 4 hours of class 4 days a week) but also very thorough. This class is not for the faint of heart or those who are not interested in accounting. If you are interested and want to learn he will teach you!
Dr. Woods is a very practical teacher. He gives notes during classes and also work problems out with us. But his tests are hard, and he gives short time for tests. Not an easy teacher, but a good one.
Take notes, do your homework, and you'll be fine. It is a lot of work, his test are OK. Just a lot of work!
This is the best teacher that I ever had. I have heard alot of bad news about him, but once I took his class, it is totally different, he is willing to teach and help you out if you really wanted to learn. unlike the other teachers, he is really the best out of the best.
You HAVE TO write in your book, do all homework (there is a lot), attend every class, and getting an "A" is nearly impossible. He is a nice man and wants his students to learn. Great if you want to major in accounting. Super hard class though.
Yes, you'll learn a lot of what you probably learned in Acct 101. Very hard, even if you are usually an "A" student you will have a hard time getting an "A" in his class. Even if you are an acct major, don't take him. Take someone else, be warned.
If you're not a Law major don't take him. His style of teaching is very bland, you can pretty much learn from the book on your own and not go to class, but he makes going to class mandatory, plus deducts points off if you don't show up. Take anyone else but him, trust me, I'm getting good grades and still regret taking him.
excellent professor, hard class though but he will teach you all the way...one of the best acct. professors.
Very Hard
He is what a teacher should be. Everything he requires are for your own good. Only problem is not giving enough time for test. If you have trouble with English(like reading, and understanding test), you might want to reconsider. foreign students in PCC like myself won't have enough time to finish his test
I took the class in Spr/06 & the tests were hella hard but his notes were thorough & exact. Eventhough i/'ve now switched to a major that requires more brawns than brains i still kept the textbook bcuz of how good the notes were. If u do well in his class than u cut out for Acct, but if u dont, than u might think about taking up basket weaving.
very hard.. do not take if you want to pass the first time. give onl7 45 min or so to do 30 question and entry
He does not explain anything. He gives notes, but they do not elusidate anything in the book. It just adds to the book's material. He cannot explain concepts on his own; just regurgitates what the book and the teacher's manual says. It is useless asking questions because he cannot answer the "why's." I don't think he knows his stuff, that well
Dr. Woods its a really good teacher, I was told that his was not a good teacher; but if you read and do your HW you'll be fine. Overall his class its not easy especially because he does not give you enough time to take the test, but you get used to it I really learned a lot in his class;he covers everything that is on the tests. thank you Dr. Woods
Hes professional & outstanding pfo.I never had in PCC.Hs test is hard.Hes alws at office for hs studs who want to learn,Sm students don't understand hs strict, but hs more strict w himself. If u are bus.major,hs the best choice,if not&u won't well know acctg, don't choose him.u can learn lot fm hm.He trained u.It is the good beginning of u career.
He is a wonderful professor.U can get lots fm hm not only acctg.Hes rarely. He corrected u test next class after test although he had lots of class. If u were according to his request&understood what hs teaching&careful in the test.u can get "B",but u need spend double time on hs class. He really want to teach.Hes not for u if u don't have time to...
Needs to read and fully understand every chaper before he teachs because you have to turn in the homework before he teachs that chapter. Just like a self-study class. Full time student may not have enough time to read and to finish the homework. Some time, you may not have time to stop to think about the problems on the tests.
Great Professor. Workload is moderate. Lectures are very clear and thorough. He is dedicated to ensuring that his students are prepared for the next level of accounting. Would definitely recommend.
Dr. Woods is a great teacher. He has so many test but if you read and study the book notes his gave, you should be fine!
He is very awesome and great. But he is too detailed on everything which makes me feel kinda stressful. I am glad I switched to another professor after I read his syllabas.
If you want to understand accounting. TAKE HIM! This class is not for lazy ppl. There's lots of work involved, but you'll walk away with a great understanding of Accounting. He's a really nice person, dont let him scare you off the first day. Oh, and he does things for your own good. You NEED patience. P.S. you NEED a ruler! You'll see why..... LOL
Yes, He's a really nice person, don't let him scare you off.you can learn a lot from him not only accounting. He is wonderful guy I never met in PCC . Love him!
if ur major in ACCT, take hime! you'll learn a lot from his class. don't be lazy. always do the homework, you'll doing OK on his exam.
his just terrible...pile of paper work are required to get good grades, too many questions in too short time on the exam. cold, po-face,he hate students who ask any questions about acct.hope you will choose another one.thank you.
Hes really helpful person in ur career. He want to "wake up" someone who need study hard or improve good habits.Hes strict w students, but he isn't cold. Its his rule.He is much strict w himself.Maybe hes the busiest person in PCC.If ur major is acc. Choose him.Otherwise, its waste ur time&waste others choice.
He gives his time to the students. He has good wish that his students are prepared for next level. Hes lecture is clear$through&text is hard but not difficult. He highlights some key words to remind you in the questions. He gives u great training. If u want to be a qualified accountant,u need do lots of paper work that could master acc.Hw is useful.
He is kind of boring. His lecture seems to get you into sleep. The exam is tough cuz it include 38 Multiple choise question plus financial statement. He do not encourage students to get involve. All you have to do is go to class on time (sleep or do whatever you want) and study on your own. Must go as far as u can to get good grade on it
HW is useful in his class. he will always ask you to highlight the key point from the chapter, it is really useful when you review it. his class is not for lazy people, is kind of challenge.
MR. Woods is definitely a difficult professor. He gives a test every other week, which are M.C. and maybe statement sheet. IT is really hard unless you study your a** off. No E.C. but drops your lowest score... and one big project/audit exam. His classes are boring and notes are tedious. Makes you write/highlight your book and he is not helpful.
this guy will break down the material for the dumbest person. the problem is that there is so much and he asks extremely detailed questions that it's hard to do well. i studied my ass off and only got a B. good luck if you take him.
DR.Woods really expect u to understand all the materials. his test is basically base on the book and his lecture. HW is important for u to understand all the materials. he grades all the HW. so don't write something that does not make sense. NO EC and no curves. u will learn a lot from him. take him if u r ACCT major
HE IS A HARD TEACHER, BUT HE TEACH VERY WELL. IF YOU ARE A ACCT MAJOR. I RECOMMANDED YOU TAKE HIS CLASS BECAUSE HE WILL LET YOU UNDERSTAND THE MATERIALS FOR LATER. HE GIVES ALOT OF HOME AND THOSE HOMEWORKS ARE VERY IMPORTANT FOR YOU MID TERMS AND FINALS. I HIGHLY RECOMMANDED HIS CLASS IF YOU ARE INTERSTING IN ACCT.
He is HARD! final is worth 400 points. 25% of your grade, and it is really hard. try someone else if u r expect A
Very strict but organized teacher. LOTs of HW, but along with notes he gave in class you pretty much understand the whole chapter very well.12 tests and they are very tricky, tons of pitfalls in them! But you really learn alot after the class. Recommend for students of ACCT major who are serious about study.
good professors! Study hard and you get an A, not for lazy people though......
horrible. giving homework without teaching the material first!
Good Professor. Very difficult class though. You must go to every class! Do ALL the homework!(Which is a lot!). Class is very boring! But how exciting can accounting be? If you have a busy schedule or a lot of classes i wouldn't recommend this class. Mr. Woods knows what he is talking about. Do all the work and pay attention you will learn a lot!
i thought he would be good based on this rating and i am very upset with the results. he is horrible. his tests dont go with the hw and he doesnt give u enough time to take the tests.DONT TAKE HIM!i work hard and study and he didnt help me learn anything.i dropped because i want the grade i deserve an A not a C because his tests dont go with the hw
Very tough class. Requires 10+ hours of studying each weekend if you want to do well. Started with 40 students and ended with 14 = 65% drop rate! Only for serious students. Take Dr. Woods if you are an accounting major. If not, it's probably a good idea to take someone else. I studied harder than I had for any other class and received a B.
he is a very responsible person. very strict, never miss a day. tied schedule. u need to be prepared if u want to take him. u learn a lot from him, but he is not easy to get a good grade. from the aspect of gaining knowledge take him; from the aspect of good grade, dont take him....
Very strict on homework, on projects, on attendance. He knows what he's teaching, but it can put anyone to sleep. Many tests, very picky about little things, one big project. Be prepared to do a lot of work for his classes. More than half the class dropped. I had him for 2 classes, same semester, worst idea ever. Both D's
He is a nice teacher, very responsible. As long as you read the book and do the exercises, it should not be a problem to pass this class.
Good professor. Very clear lecturer. If you do the homework and pay attention in class you can get an A or B. Learned a lot from him.
H/w assigned every class. it takes up at least 2 hrs everyday. do not mess around w/ his class. he is for people who really want to learn. i had an A going into the final but got a B. His final is 35% of the grade. If you work hard it will pay off. He went to school w the founders of kinkos and century 21 real estate. mandatory attendance.
Professor Wood was decent in the beginning. Then we stopped learning and started playing catch-up. We never got to use our homework to study, basically at a loss of material. In my opinion hes a lackluster professor that needs to update his methods of teaching. It is possible to succeed in this class through cramming but probably not learn as much.
This teacher was horrible, I do not recommend! It is really hard for me, and I need to play catch up game after every lesson!
If you want to learn, you'll learn. If you want an easy class, he's not for you. Be ready to work hard. Good lecturer, clear and gives good explanations. Occasionally cranky, not warm and fuzzy, but you aren't here to see your mommy. Overall, good teacher. Criticism: not enough time to take tests; some questions seem trivial.
so much homework. takes an hour for each prob so like 10 hrs a day, no time left to study for tests, i dont understand material at all and still get Bs and As on tests, does not make sense at all, he made me switch out of acct. and now i have no idea wut to major in. that's y he's good for acct majors, he scares you out of it.
assigns hw and expects it to be turned in prior to him actually teaching it to you. he demands that his class be the only thing important in your life while you are in it. i highly recommend against taking his class unless you like to be unnecessarily challenged and are interested in nothing else besides balance sheets
He is super hard. he gives lots of homework before covering the matirieal.i hated him.never ever take him
Ask you to do homework before his teaching. Unclear lecture. Limited time for test, 35 questions including a financial statement only 50 minites.
Very hard to follow. He teaches everything after you have turned in your homework and then expects you to jnow everything the next class for the test and to do 30-35 questions plus 3 financial statements within 30-50 minutes because he uses your time for the test for lecturing.
Great Teacher! He really knows what he his talking about. You can easily get a B and will have to work a little bit harder for an A. Just do the homework and you'll be fine. The test are not hard. He drops your lowest test score so that also helps. Very reasonable. If your an accounting major or any business related major I strongly suggest Woods.
He knows what he is talking about. Write down everything he says and do thing his way and you will do just fine!
he is a great teacher in the accounting, just need to do HW before he covers the chapter, write down all notes he mentions in he class becausse they all show up in exam. redoing HW will easy get good great in test
This teacher is extremely helpful and knows exactly what he's talking about. Class is very straight forward. The syllabus accurately outlines the semester and he stays on schedule. He drops your lowest test score so that also helps. If your a BUSINESS or ACCT major i highly recommend him. You'll definitely learn and without struggling because he
There is a fundamental problem with the way Woods administers this class--you aren't being taught, you're being measured. The bulk of the time in class is spent testing, reviewing homework, and supplementing textbook deficiencies. Very little time is dedicated to teaching. Be prepared to learn everything on your own and allow enough time to do so.
Dr Woods was pretty good at handling this class. homework a lot but finish them as a way of praticing accounting skills. took notes when he told you. usually students felt hard at the beginning, but later became much more better as getting used to the way he taught and tested.
I regret not dropping his class. I worked so hard and cried so many night over that class and got a D. His test are really hard. I'm not a lazy student I just could not memorize every fact and detail the way he likes.
Just go ahead take someone else if there is space available. he is extremely hard and ruins ur GPA. he will take points off if u spell the words incorrectly. he ask you to do the homeworks before he start taught anything.
He's tough, but he's good! I really benefitted from his teaching methods and vast know-how. Thank you Prof. Woods! I am graduating this May!
Prof Woods is one of the best teacher at PCC. He really knows what he's teaching and will teach you the subject well. Like some of the comments said he can be hard but he gets easier as the class progresses. His test are fair and he drops your lowest test score which really helped my grade. I highly recomend this professor. TAKE HIM! You may have t
He is extremely hard, it's almost impossible to understand what exactly he is talking about because he's constantly adding things that he thinks should be and not how the book has it. He talks extremely fast and is hard to keep up with when taking notes. I wrote down everything he put on the board and still couldn't understand any of it.
not enough time for tests, most work has to be done by yourself...a good teacher, but it is impossible to do what he asks unless accounting is your career choice
Stay away from him
not enough time for study..., never pass back the homework that helping us to comprehend...
hardness 2.1? really? i aced the class with every tests above 95. He teaches like a high school teacher, treating students like slow idiots. sure, he has his own methods that differ from the book, but this is college folks. listen to his lectures and take notes, impossible to not walk away with atleast a B.
Exams are about 50 minutes (not a lot of time for new learners). financial statements will be on exams including midterm, but exams after all MC questions. drops lowest test score, attendance is mandatory or will be dropped if too many. no extra credit. does not pass back homework (expects for you to photocopy). does not review for exams.good luck!
Hard class because he expects so much from his students: Do your homework or you will fall behind. Don't skip class, don't be late and don't mark on your test paper or he will take off points. Know the answers to the homework because he will call on you at least once. You won't be able to resell your book after taking this class.
You'll learn how to discipline yourself. This class is a challenge if you're up for it, especially accounting majors then go for it. But if you care about your gpa then choose another professor.
I took his class during high school and he was the biggest jerk ever. It was all about his class and his way. I hated his egotistical attitude and his arrogant disposition. He kept telling us about being the head admission advisor of Citrus College, his own firm, and what not. Before going into the final I had an 88%. Stay away. It's not easy.
This class was ridiculously hard! We started out with 45 people at the beginning of the semester, at the final there were 15 and only half of those passed. He expects a lot from you. The homework load is crazy. He is a nice guy but he is a slave driver when it comes to homework.
Dr. Woods is a very detailed professor. He is for ppl who are passionate about either business and/or acct. Before I took his class, there were a lot of rumors about his class being impossible to pass. I beg to differ. Make no mistake, this class need dedication. If u are not passionate about ur business or acct major, do urself a favor don't take.
He explains how to do the homework the day after he assigns it. He makes the students feel dumb for not understanding. He isn't a hands-on teacher. /
Ok this class is hard, but not because of woods. He does his job, explains well. He will answer any questions you have. I didnt ace the class because i didnt study enough. Those who took the time, got easy A's. pass or fail, woods make sure you that his class is the number one accouting class in the school. Hes also became dean of business.
This teacher is kinda hard. But i purposely take his class for 1A. He teach clearly and step by step. But sadly he became a dean and change teacher got changed. Pepople told me that, If you are willing to study ACC, take it with Dr.Wood. Thus, i did that but he left and changed proffessor.
Very unhelpful, unclear, and unwavering. He was inconsistent and does not assess what's going on with the class or time manage well. He was behind then rushed us through 16 chapters. He told us we were being tested on the wrong chapters. He assigned a project that required us to take off of work and would not assign an alternate project.
I took this teacher because of the ratings on him and I was very disappointed in the results. His homework DOES NOT follow the tests at all. If your someone who needs examples, he is not for you. I am now in accounting 10 because of his disorganization. For a professor who makes $100,000+, I expected a lot more. Take someone else.
This is a very dedicated teacher. The only way to get along in his class and with him is to be just as dedicated as he is.
He doesn't know how to explain the material to students. He is unnecesarilrily punitive, rude, and berates his students. He doesn't allow enough time to complete exams (all of which are timed 50 mins). Students should be given the entire class period to take midterm and final exams. The exam should be assessing comprehension not speed.
Worst professor I have ever had. Often late, never kept track of class progress, used old preprinted exams that were no reflection of what we had actually covered. Gave very incomplete notes. Seemed bitter and and resentful of the class, was exceptionally rude & could not answer questions at all. Just terrible.
Extremely hard than the other ACCT class. The test usually not relevant the textbook, and only give students 1 hour to finish test. But you can get a lot of ACCT knowledge from this class even it is traditional method. If u want get an easy A, dont choose him.
I don't know why everyone else complains. If you study for the class you will get an A. He is a very nice person. Very friendly. Answers questions, is ready to help after the class. The tests are a little hard, but if you do your HW and study the chapter you shouldn't have any problems.
Dr. Woods knows his material down to the simplest detail. If you are an accounting major, he is the professor to take. This class will help you gain a strong base for accounting. Don't expect to pass if you do not read the chapter or do the hw. Exams are hard so be prepared to study.
Dr. Woods is a very straightforward type of professor. Use the study guide included with the textbook, all of his exams are based off of it. One project.
first test we had a little less than 50 min. 2 people finished in time. he moves so quickly before you have time to ask hes on the next subject. a very dry professor.. was interested in the subject but he ruined it for me. i suggest taking another professor.
Exams are basically MCQ for an hour, including Final(100MCQ),attendance N hw r v important.Book n Workbook r needed.he will call out names to ans HW questions,u hv to do yr HW. exams and HW every week so workload r heavy.the first few lessons he will be v strict but he will be nicer. dont take this class if u just want to pass.
All of the comments said that he's not a great prof, simply it's not true. 1. The quizzes + exams are SUPER HARD. 2. A lot of homework, 1 hour in class at least 3 hour outside. 3. READ READ READ AND STUDY THE BOOK. 4. Use the study guide, very helpful. 5. You will have to go to the court for project, be DETAILED.
People in the class were upset about their low grades, I can only say, you should've studied. You're expected to read the chapter and apply the laws to the case questions, he goes over every case the next day in detail, and you still get credit even if you're wrong. He's a professor who wants things just so, and if you want the A, do what he says.
this professor is just rating your self-learning, little help from the method he teach.
Very dedicated Professor, took this class over the summer, very fast-paced. Do all your homework!
Dr Woods is helpful and friendly.Tests are basically questions from the homework and textbook.
Worst teacher ever. Has an ego the size of Alaska, is NOT student friendly in the least, expects way too much from a beginner, and doesn't even try to hide the fact that he flirts with some of the female students. He is simply one of the worst teachers I've ever had.
Don't take him unless you been an accountant for more than a decade. He gives u an hour for a test with 30 multiple choice questions, and the financial statements. Less than 5 ppl ppl finish on time. He expects u to read and do the homework 4 the next chapter b4 you take ur test on the current chapter. He talks about it right b4 u take the test.
He is a very good professor to take if you want to deeply understand about accounting concepts. Don't expect to understand his lecture easily if you do not read the book beforehand.
Read the book before the lecture, finish assigned homework on time ; do all homework at least twice; understand the notes! What he spends during the lecture is just emphasize the important points in the chapter and give you tips for doing exam; however, if you don't read the book beforehand, you have no idea what he emphasized!
Woods is a decent professor. He may seem mean but is alright one on one. Lectures can be confusing but generally get the job done. Gives a lot of homework, do it before class or face embarrassment if he calls on you. Tests are easy if you know how to do the homework and skim the book since he adds a few questions discussed in the book only.
This teacher is very dedicated and good at what he does. It doesn't hurt that he's VERY easy on the eyes and a snazzy dresser.
An accountant needs to be willing to study & work long hours on problems, be able to express himself/herself orally & in writing, be a person with a high degree of integrity who is willing to assume responsibility, have some ability with mathematics, show neatness in his/her work & appearance, and have the ability to get along well with others.
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. The class was overfilling & ended up with 10 people. His lectures are very blank and unclear. Meaning he only teaches 1/8 of the chapter. His exams are an hour long, but you can barely get halfway through by the end. Exams every week. DO NOT TAKE HIM.
He really teach stuffs you need to know in the accounting field. Lots of HW, but once you know how to do those questions, the tests become less challenging. not fun, but really useful if you wanna survive in the field of accounting!!
LOVE THIS TEACHER! He was very helpful and dedicated, and gorgeous! Take this man if you want to learn about accounting or business law!
this guy doesnt teach AT ALL!!!! even with a study group that class is hard. you probably need to study everything on your own and do all his charts EXACTLY the way he does it or else he'll mark EVERYTHING wrong. DONT TAKE THIS GUY if you wanna learn accounting
Acct isnt meant to be easy in the first place. and having him as the instructor makes the difficulty level increase by two-folds. Attendance is mandatory. There will be an exam for every chapter, that's about a test every 1-1.5 weeks. Hw is a lot! And he will call on you for it during class. Tests are MC. There was only 12 out of 40 ppl at the end.
It's awesome.
Accounting was very challenging and the lectures were dry. His MC tests cover the ENTIRE chapter. To do well; do homework problems over and over until you don't need to look at the book to get them, you have very little time on tests. For Bus law, rely heavily on the study guide and class notes. Also you will spend A-LOT of time briefing cases.
Very difficult course. You should expect to read and study the material very thoroughly. Class was rushed in part due to less time but we were still expected to know all the material. The tests were long and the questions are very specific. The class started out full and ended up with only a third of the students left.
I read the comments and thought I could make it through the class. It was a summer class and I thought it would be easy to handle. His class is hard! It started off full and at the second to last week there were only maybe 10 of the original 40 in that class. You literally learn by doing the homework. He'll call on you to share hw answers. AVOID HIM
I don't recommend him. He is too hard and test is taking an hour and not many people finish test on time. If you want able to learn better and need explain clearly, better take other professor like Michelle Lee or others if you want to pass and get good grade.
Because the amount of homework, and the length of the tests This class was more like a torture. Tips for passing: go to the tutor, and make sure you read the material textbook before you go to class. You have to practice a lot by yourself, or you will not pass the test. (There is a test every week. )
Attendance is ABSOLUTELY IMPORTANT. includes tardiness. This actually dropped me one letter grade.... The class itself was also pretty tough but with hard work, it's not impossible to do well.
ONLY RECOMMEND IF YOU ARE WILLING TO STUDY!!!! Lectures are clear, but heavy. You have a lot to study. He only tests the stuff he covered in the class which is great, but there are so many tests through the semester, so annoying!!! I got an A in his class. YOU NEED TO UNDERSTAND EVERYS SINGLE PROBLEM HE ASSIGNED YOU. THEN YOU WILL DO WELLLLL.
Great prof.
Luckily I found Accounting to be a very simple subject to self teach. However, if self-studying is not a strength of yours, I would not recommend Woods. He will more often than not give out the homework assignments before he gives the lecture. You'll need to read the textbook for yourself, which is not too troublesome cause it's well written.
Professor Woods is a pretty good but difficult prof. He explains a majority items on the test during his lecturesreviewing the hw. When we review hw, he will call on you to answer hw questions and if you didn't do it you will loose participation points. Tests are extremely thorougheveryweekish. My tips: dont miss class, understand hw, read ch.
Dr. Woods is an amazing professor. I learned so much about accounting from him! He makes you work hard but he's also always there to help. Hi's style is on point- Dior ties anyone? Tres chic! It doesn't hurt that he's quite the attractive man as well!!!!! MUST TAKE!
Clear and fair.
AVOID this professor if you can. He lectures on the easiest topics and rushes through the last four chapters, which are the most complicated, without lecturing; right a week before the final!! He takes points away for things like "not using a ruler" when preparing financial statements during the test. Look for outside help or won't pass the class.
You need to do an assignment for every chapter of the textbook, all 23. There's also a project where you have to observe 2 court cases. And 4 chapter exams (drops the lowest), 4 quizzes, a midterm, and a final... I found the tests to be hard. I thought the lectures were boring. He seems knowledgable, but this class really wasn't fun.
Great professor who really knows business law and uses examples from real world cases in lecture. Class was extremely informative and students who didn't pay attention will likely wish they did if they ever start a business or need to file a lawsuit. Very informative and useful class.
Don't be late or he may drop you. Don't be absent or he may drop you. Study the textbook on your own. He tends to talk more about himself than about the textbook. At least two test a week. Test are very heavy on your grades.
He's a great person and a pretty good professor, for the exams you just have to pay attention to his powerpoints. I found his quizzes to be harder than his actual tests. Overall i really like him as a professor and as a person. Does give a lot of homework but they help you out to understand the concept of business law
Grading is clear, and he keeps you up to date where you are. LOTS OF HOMEWORK, but they help you. He will drop you, so attendance is a must. Its a great class, and he gives a lot of examples. I would recommend taking this professor.
Lectures heavy, but all helpful information. Do mot skip class, expect to read a lot. I did not do this but wish I had. as hes going over slides mark your book. Read the book, do the homework and pay attention to the cases. Hes a great caring teacher who gives relatable examples to help you understand.
A big no no. Lectures are heavy. You have to pretty much read on your own. Just overall difficult.
Gary Woods is a fantastic law professor. He was a lawyer which allows him to display many real world examples of the concepts. There is not a single item he did not know so if you do not understand an item he will explain it to you. Reading is an absolute must/don't fall behind, give yourself time for proj, attendance/Hw can hurt you don't slack
Tons of homework and tons of reading! Lectures heavy but I enjoyed the class. He givea great examples and the power points relate to the test. If you put in the effort you can get a good grade. All the homework relates to the test. Hes a grear professor!
A lot of homework and test heavy. I had an A (93%) in the class and a perfect grade on the project until I was sick for a weeks worth of class. Instead of dropping me he took 15% off my grade. He told me about this reduction right before I took final and announced to the class laughingly that I went from an A to a C. Don't take him, not worth it
HW for every chapter, but it is easy. Basically, the whole class is taking down a lot of notes during lectures and studying those notes for tests.
