His contemporary cinema class is worthwhile. Tends to run behind schedule so the class is pretty relaxed. He's anal about cellphones.

Awesome professor, probably my favorite one so far. Teaches fun classes and is a fun guy himself. Has a rather dry sense of humor and always makes subtle jokes and jokes around with students as well. Overall a very intelligent and humorous professor. Definitely take one of his classes if you have the chance, you won't regret it!

Easy A if you go to class and take good notes. Text book is recommended to get an A but you can get B without ever opening it. I recommend doing the e.c. cause it is easy and fun. He has a corny since of humor. His lectures are fun and full of insight. The best part is he looks like George Clooney.

Love at first sight? Yes.. Loved both the class as well as Gary Zaro. He is a great teacher and gives great insight on the films. I never had an interest in classic films, but now I have a whole new outlook. Plus every time I see George Clooney, I think of him. Use the book to study for the tests,and show up for the films..you'll score and A+.

If you like Indiana Jones then maybe you will like Mr. Zaro, he even wore the leather jacket on occasion and aside from being very helpful with teaching his students, he is extremely intelligent. He definitely knows what he is teaching, an excellent historian and I was never bored in his classes... learned something new quite often. He likes films

My brother buddy took him in high school and told me he was great so when i went to college and Saw Zaro i signed up! and it was the best decision. He has a passion for film that transfers to everyone around him. I loved film before but now its my life. this teacher is great and if you get the chance take his class!!!

I found it kind of hard to pass the class, but I did! Grades are only based off the tests which aren't that easy. You don't really know what exactly will be asked; reading the book and taking notes is a must. Prof. Zaro is an excellent teacher. He knows a lot about what he teaches. However sometimes is humor is a little complicated and may be over used. Also he looks nothing like Antonio Banderas from the legend of Zoro (Zaro).

Professor Zaro is wonderful. Attendance is mandatory as he records it every class period. Your whole grade is dependant on tests, so make sure you study! The textbook is also heavily used so you must get that as well. This was a fun class that was overall pretty easy. I would take it again.

I love this guy. He is funny and very interested and dedicated to his subject matter. Zaro considers student's interests, and feed back. He chooses a nice variety of film in this class and as long as you study your notes for a good twenty minutes you can get an easy A on any exam.

It's a film class. How do you expect to pas if you don't show up and watch the films genius?

There are a lot of notes you have to take and if you want to pass the tests you definitely need to study, but he gives a study guide so its SUPER easy! He's really nice, HILARIOUS, will answer any questions you may have, friendly and personable, gives clear notes, just really really great class. My favorite professor I've had in four semesters!

Gary Zaro is great. I wish I could have taken more of his classes. He loves what he does and appreciates his students. He is hilarious. It was interesting to see the progression of women over time in film in the class. Lots of extra credit available. I would recommend taking at least one of his classes. Everyone loves him.

Very strict rules as far as what he expects out of you. Encourages discussion. He's also a director in the performing arts department so if you go to his shows you can get on his good side.

Zaro initially comes off as strict, but he is really easy to get along with if you respect his reasonable policies. Attendance is mandatory as he mostly teaches film class and offers specific notes prior to each film that you will need for the tests. Tests are easy if you do the required reading and take some basic notes before movies.

You MUST study for his tests - they're all you're graded on. Tests are non-cumulative, so it makes it easy to focus on the films most recently watched. Zaro is very witty and open to all ideas about the films - participation in discussion is highly suggested. ;)

Professor Zaro has been my favorite teacher at PVCC! He lectures for mostly the entire class, but it is very interesting. He is very friendly and can be hilarious at times. Best advice is to write everything that he says in a notebook and study it. Tests are super easy as long as you study and offers extra credit. I am now an Alfred Hitchcock fan!

A very inspirational teacher who knows how to lecture. Honestly I've developed a passion for humanities after taking his classes. Write down everything he says and study your notes, and you should get an A. Only regret is I wish I knew about him sooner so I could take more of his classes.

I took HUM209 over the summer and really enjoyed it. The class flew by. You can tell Professor Zaro is really knowledgeable and passionate about film. The movies we watched were super good to my surprise, and I learned a lot. Make sure you take notes while he is lecturing on the films, study those before the exams and you can easily get an A.

I just took HUM 209 (Women & Films) with Professor Zaro and loved it! Hes such an awesome professor and its a class Id certainly take again. Your grade is primarily based on your exams so its important to write down all he says about the films before you watch them. Pay attention to the movies you watch, study your notes and youll get an A!

This is by far the easiest class I've taken, attendance is important because you are graded on the movies shown in class. Professor is really funny and keeps the class interesting, pay close attention to anything he writes on the board those will be key test questions. Definitely recommend this class, i would take it again if i could.

I honestly wish I could take all of professor Zaro's classes and then he could teach all my other classes after that. I took HUM 209 with him and that was a bop too. What an amazing Professor! YOU MUST MEMORIZE THE NAMES AND DETAILS OF MOVIES! However most times he makes it easy (most)! Extra credit on tests,to go watch movies and stay for discussion for 5 points. He waits for you to write notes and is always willing without an attitude to repeat! Zaro is a great man and a real cutie. He doesnt use canvas, which sucks, but all you do is watch movies, take notes, and read packets occasionally. Take notes on EVERYTHING he says and read the packets if you want to pass the tests; theyre easy in my opinion just information-intensive. I though this class was gonna be stupid but I enjoyed it.

I would really recommend him, he is very passionate about what he talks about. This class was just, show up, take notes on the lecture, and leave. There are seven tests and he drops your worst grade but if you pay attention in class and briefly go over your notes before each test you should be good.

Dawwggg this guy is so cool he had us watch some really good movies and was always engaging never pausing the movie or talking too much but definitely talked about key points and talked about the history of the films (what the class is for lol) hes super funny and its so easy to pass his class you literally come to watch movies and take quizzes

Professor Zaro is AMAZING. Could listen to him talk for hours. Class is graded by only 5 exams, lowest test except final is dropped (so 4 exams). Only homework is watching interesting movies. Such a nice and understanding guy and really tries to get to know everybody despite us being online. Can't say enough good things about him.

I learned so much from this film class and I loved Gary Zaro so much. We watched so many good films in class and they were very educational. I would take many more classes of his. There is lots of extra credit. This class was very heavy note taking but as long as you ask questions and take the notes you will get an A. Would def recommend!

The test are only hard if you dont study, but theyre about movies so its not boring. All the movies were fun and interesting. Hes pretty funny and always happy and has been my favorite professor so far. Do your best to not miss a class though bc youll miss half a movie that youre tested on

Professor Zaro was wonderful. I took his intro to Cinema class in a 5 week summer course. The lectures were actually super interesting and he kept it fun. Loved taking Women in Film with Zaro! All you need to do is attend class, take detailed notes during lectures, and pay attention to the movies. There is no homework, the entire grade was based on five tests with multiple choice questions. Definitely recommend taking this class to get your cultural diversity and humanities credits at the same time,

If you look up Professor Zaro and think "I'm going to have an easy ride!", you're going to fail this class. It's that simple. This class is easy, but it's not an easy A.
