VERY unorganized.
She is unorganized, but is helpful at times. And gives too much homework all at once.
I have to say this was the best 13A teacher one could ask for. You will learn all you need to and more for your degree and interest in Child Development. Definitely a lot of work but it is expected with this introductory class. LOVED IT
she is a hard grader and is not understanding. she comes to class mad at times and takes it out on the class. if possible, take someone else. too much work in her class. she takes points away for not signing in on the role sheet. What't up with that!!!!
lots of work, unclear at times. I loved her real life examples and that we got to work with kids and really observe them. Don't expect to be able to slack off if u want to pass this class.
i recommend for you to take it with someone else. she is hard, the class itself is hard. she does not let you turn in homework late. she is very unorganized and when she's mad at something, she takes it out on the class
A wonderful experience! Gayla is very sweet and understanding. She was always good about answering all of my questions. I had been ill and she was very caring and allowed my work to be turned in late w/full credit. Fun class!!!! Stay on top of your homework and you'll get an A.
She was a fun teacher and she did give a lot of work, but as long as you did all of it, you would pass. I got an A easy. I would totally recommend her!
She was very nice. Go to class, do the work, it's easy. She even took the test directly from the practice tests in the book. Don't forget to sign in for roll. I didn't do all the work, and I still got a "B"
She gave WAY too much work all at one time. I felt like I was always doing homework for that class. She was nice, but not very sympathetic towards her students. She really didn't understand that the amount of work she was giving was a bit overwhelming. It was pretty easy to get an A though!
very nice and understanding willing to stasy after class and out of class to help you out i had a dire emergency she help out a lot.
She's really nice as a person. She gave a lot of busy work though and did not always realize it was a ton of work. I felt like she had no clue I was taking other classes.
shes a great teacher
she gives out alot of work so be prepared also dont miss her classes if you do you will miss alot of information and points and you will miss out on homework assignment but she is very nice and helpful take her you will not regret taking her oh yeah and she gives out alot of extra credit
Be very prepared for long tired nights doing homework ,but all in all it all worth it because u walk out with a lot of knowlege .
Very organized. Alot of work but as long as you do it you will pass her class. You learn alot but you dont realize it till the end. You cannot turn in late work unless you have a doctors note. Take this class or you will be missing out.
There is a lot of work..but it is soooo easy. She is a good teacher and helps you understand things. Work is all right out of the book. Most of the homework is sentences with a blank that you fill in. Her idea of big projects are making a posterboard with children on it from a stage of life. There is a lot of work, but it is not a big deal.
She was very unorganized and she would come to class upset and take it out on the class. She never even graded my final because she was in too much of a rush to get to her next final. She definitely gives waaay too much work!
Mrs. Anderson is a nice teacher. If she was in a bad mood you could sorta tell, but she always tried to hide it. She always tries to be nice. Do homework like 20 minutes a day, you'll be fine. The work is busy work but is so extremely easy. Usually 5 pages of fill in the blank for the week. Never stay the full hour at child care..make some of it up!
very sweet and kind lady. gives easy but time consuming homework. simple class. do the work and it was a fun class.
You will learn with anderson. she knows her stuff. but does give alot more work than other chdv teachers. but overall she's nice. just don't miss any assignments they're not hard just long and you'll pass for sure.
I think Gayla has a lot to offer and is an awesome teacher. i came out of the class with a lot of knowledge on family and community.
It was an ok class. There are no quizzes just study guides you do weekly, and at the begining you have to do four observations. There are two group presentaions and a midterm which is an in class observation and the final. Just show up and you'll do fine.
If you like homework and a lot of reading this is the class to take. You will learn a lot. Make sure you go to class and do all assignments you should be o.k. Oh Yeah she gives chapter quizzes every week
Gayla is nice but sometimes she can be a bit scatterbrained. Her class is easy, as long as you show up and do all of your work. There are study guides due everyweek, two presentations, four real life child observations, and a midterm! i loved the real life observations! overall its a good class.
This Class Is easy the only thing is that the homework ends up being like six pages long for 2 or 3 questions. She has Ch quizes everyday. You have to go to class and if you don't you need a really good writen and backed up excuse to turn in the HW or to makeup the tests. I would not take her again 2 much HW.....
Tons of Homework!!!! Quiz everyday you have her. Chapters are super long to read. You do learn a lot because she takes time to explain things but the homework is to much!!
as long as you do your homewoork you can pass the class. YOu don't have to worry about about exams.
If you really want to learn something useful this is a must take class with Gayla. She does give tons of homework but you learn something new every time you do the homework. She also gives a quiz every time you attend class but very easy quizzes if you read the material. she makes the class fun. I really recommend her... Great teacher
Excellent teacher. if Child development is not your mayor I still recommend taking Chdv 21 with Gayla. she explains everything that must be known about the childs decelopment. Homework tons but extreamly useful. study guides every single week but they pay off what you payed for the textbook.regardeless she is a good professor.
I have taken Chdv 21,36 and 42 with Gayla. her classes are very interesting. For 42 u will have to do a socializatin report it sounds hard but its very simple plus it helps you reflect about ur self& about ur family. homework is due every week but its really easy 2or3 ?s.Take her u will enjoy her class with all the info.U will definitely learn
what can i say these teacher at first looks nice and you think that the class is easy . honestly its not. she gives to much hw . =[
Nice for the most part. As long as you do the hw your in the clear. Final exams are just group projects, easy & you'll learn a lot. Very interesting
The class was ok. It wasnt hard but you REALY have to pay attention and take notes. There was a quiz everyday on the chapter you were supposed to read at home. There are a few big projects you have to do outside of class. If i had to take the class again, I wouldnt take her. Also You CANT NOT use your cell phone in class at.
she can be sweet and helpful, but she can be confusing at times, confuses herself. everything is kind of scattered and bunched up together so its hard to know whats due when.
VERY CONFUSING. she is all over the place. she'll give you an answer one day and a different one another. do your work and you should be fine. shes very sweet be is all over the place
She is very unclear about her instructions, she will argue about an answer with you, even when you have the book in front of you and prove you are right, and she expects you to be a perfect speller when she cannot spell. She treats the class like they are in Kindergarten, and talks during the videos that she says are important.
Very nice professor, but a little harsh on grading and very unclear about work. Do not miss any classes!
She's extremely nice and knows exactly what teaching. If her classes are hard it's because she's teaching classes that produce teachers. If you are paying for college and want a great education take her classes. If you don't want to work and waste yours and everyone else's time in class, then wait until you've matured before signing up for classes.
Horrible teacher! She was not very helpful at all! Never checks her email. Threatened to drop me from the class just be cause I was hospitalized with a serious illness and wasnt able to give her my homwork for a few days even after I had called her AND emailed her about it. The homework is confusing she isnt very clear about what she wants done.
Mrs Anderson was a good teacher, i liked her alot but do think that she gives alot of homework... Other than that i think she is a good professor and teaching by the book is a good method.
I got nothing bad to say about her. Not the the easiest class, but you learn a lot from her. I also had her for B36. I'm upset that she doesn't offer other morning classes, she is truely a great teacher. My favorite college teacher so far :)
Very nice. Confusing.gives a lot of homework and work 2 quizzes a week, you can not miss any days. But you will learn a lot if you want to be a teacher ..
i would not suggest this teacher, she is always in a rush and just because she had to take on others classes as a sub she didn't do everything that was in our syllabus.we did not do the tour to the daycare center and it's like she overloaded and ready to explode, don't take her she is hectic.
This class has ALOT of work.Theres a 12 page research paper due in sections, then as a whole at the end. However, everything I turned in I got 100% so she grades pretty easy. She always seems very busy though.
She's a really awesome teacher. i liked her a lot:)
I have had this Pro. many times and I always look forward to her classes because she is very experienced in her field and I always learn a lot from her classes. The work load is not easy, but her instructions and syllabus are clear so it is easy to work ahead. The quality of education she provides is well worth the work you put into the class.
Excellent teacher! You have to be there every day for class points. The work load isn't the easiest, weekly textbook homework. But I walked away having learned a lot! Her class is also fun, and she is very friendly. I will register for her every class I can in the future!
Took this teacher for CHDV 21, 36 and She is an awesome teacher and very knows her material well. She follows the syllabus to a T. You pretty muh have weekly chapter assignments and weekly chapter tests. If you show up and do your assignments, it is easy to pass her class with an A
When i started reading the reviews about this teacher i was skeptical about taking her. But i thought oh well she cant be that bad. BIG MISTAKE!! She is horrible! She gets her afternoon and night classes mixed up so she has all her information wrong. she marks you down for any little thing. She gives you so much work its ridiculous. DONT take her!
Big mistake in taking this class only to be full time! Leaves way to much work and seems repetitive to even do. Group work is the worst in any class. Also expect in class work and lots of sharing in class. Lots of papers to type and very time consuming for what its credit is worth. Easy but will wear you out.
She is very confusing and unhelpful. I was looking forward to this class and ended up hating it by the end. The work isn't hard but it feels like busy work and not like you're actually learning anything. I wish I would of taken this class with someone else.
This was not the easiest class, but not the hardest at all. Just show up everyday & you will be fine and don't hesitate to ask her for help BEFORE due dates, I did for almost everything. I am already a teacher and she honestly made me a better one! PLUS on final day you have a chance to move up a letter grade! the biggest paper is 4 pages.
I have taken 3 her classes and i really like her. She has homework due at the end of the week and everything is in the syllabus. i have taken another chdv teacher (nyagwachi) and she has nothing on the teaching styles and helpfulness like Mrs. Anderson
Terrible teacher. Quizzes on material not covered in class or in reading. She hardly covers material in class, if any. Curriculum is messy. Avoid her, unfortunately I didn't and needed to withdraw.
Awesome teacher! She is organized never lost anyones work. She tells u what to expect and if u follow the syllabus you'll do great!
she will help you if you have problems reading something but other then that she doesn't really help. She always goes back and though about the way she wants something. She may say three different ways and only want the first one.
The worst teacher I've ever had in my life. Dropped me without warning, no email nothing. Loses work. Doesn't understand mitosis and meiosis. Issues prolife assignments and makes you decide in hypothetical situations if teens should have abortions, give up for adoption or keep the child and keeping the child is always the right answer. Unreasonable
Avoid this professor at all costs. I'm flabbergasted she even calls herself a professor. THIS WILL BE A SELF-TAUGHT COURSE. She doesn't cover any of the material in class. Has students participate in tedious in-class assignments to "get to know each other better." Vauge key terms are provided and she can't keep track of assignments! BEWARE.
If you like a professor who is: soooo disorganized, never gets to the point, can't remember what class she is teaching, can't remember when items are due, then she is the teacher for YOU!
This class was pretty easy BUT ALOT of assignments. You will only pass if u do the hw. Assignments are easy though. Homework is IMPORTANT. As far as ms Anderson she is very RUDE. If u ask her a question she answers very sarcastically and 99% of the time makes you wish would have just kept your mouth shut. Good teacher but nasty personality.
She was a very sweet teacher, at first, and then when it comes to my final presentation she was straight DISRESPECTFUL . I'm not going to lie she almost made me cry ! Instead of being rude and laughing at my effort she should have been supportive and helpful like a teacher should be. Easy class but I can care less for her.
Be prepared for lots of projects. Almost every week you start a new project which is mostly done with a group. You get a chapter test or two every week which can be tough if you don't critically think, you can't just pull answers out of the text book. She lets you use hand written notes on these tests though, so I suggest actually reading.
Disorganised, late to class on the regular, dropped a test because she lost it, the syllabus ends up becoming irrelevant due to her constant last minute changes. I would not recommend this professor. She is unclear and disorganised
This professor is very disorganized and isn't very helpful with the class content. The only professor I've ever had treat me like a child. I'm typically an AB student, but when asking for help, she took it as if I wasn't paying attention and proceeded to embarrass me in front of the class. Kept me late one day and was late to work. So frustrating.
Very unorganized syllabus doesn't even make sense she changes it all the time. always late and doesn't even know what class she's teaching. Answers very sarcastically when answering your questions. Never responds to emails. Doesn't give clear directions on any papers. If you need to take this class choose another professor. I would rate her a 0
Anderson is a nice person, but it was really frustrating to have her as a professor. She's scatterbrained and her syllabus, grading system, and papers have confusing structures. The tests are straight from the study guide, so the textbook is important to have. Keep all your work until grades are posted (which, by the way, took a month).
She is constantly changing due dates, is very unorganized, and assigns too much homework. She is very strict about having clean papers, binders, and will dock you down when it is not done her way. There is no clarity when she explains assignments and is often vague. Overall, would never recommend this professor to anyone.
Horrible! Honestly the blivit to my entire semester. The only professor that will ever look you in the eye and make you want to retreat yourself back up your mothers womb. You'd have to rub squids in my face before you ever have me take this professor again. On top of that, she has the memory of a fetus goldfish. Goodluck with this one.
WORST professor I've ever had. I would not recommend her to anyone! very unclear, very disorganized. The amount of homework she gives is out of this world!! project after project. each week was a new project. I changed my major because of her. Ruined chdv for me.
She's an amazing teacher. The work he gives is easy but it's best not to get behind. It's easy to pass if you're not stupid.
The class wasn't that hard. Sometimes a little unclear but you just have to ask her about it. You need the book to answer questions on every chapter for homework and bring your book to class every day. Sometimes she lets you use the book on the test.
Very knowledgeable teacher but terrible person. Take this course with another Teacher if possible.
Wouldn't recommend this Professor to anyone. She is very rude and mean. Also very unorganized.
Some might say she's tough because sh'e s very strict on not taking any late work but she makes very easy grading packets and it is very clear on when they are due. This consists of about 35 questions which extremely easy because there are just multiple choice, matching, and true or false. These answers are found in the text book, which you NEED.
I did every assignment and got a good grade on everything except 1 drawing assignment. Never knew this was an art class.
I took her class which wasn't needed for my major. She gives good lectures and will explain info again if not understood. Her syabllus wasn't professionally done to understand. And wasn't rude at times.
Tests are photocopies of the study guides which she painstakingly goes over every single answer to in class. Super easy grader on papers, but they require a peculiar and particular format. Treats students like they are in elementary school - condescendingly so sometimes. Easiest A ever but if it's your major, you're not going to learn much.
She's disorganized. It was group project after group project, and paper after paper. Always ask her for her project/paper requirements because they change every time. She can be quite rude and doesn't listens to students. She treats it as if she's teaching elementary. She's late often. Never lectures really-but makes you take video notes randomly.
Wasn't my favorite professor, but I did enjoy the subject even if I was the one reading the textbook for more information. There are about four papers, pretty easy as long as you follow directions on it all, and a few group projects. It's an easy A class.
Very unorganized, she lost the first exam so it was postponed. Her grading rubric on the papers and maps made absolute no sense. Treats the class like elementary kids and makes you feel dumb for asking questions. Her syllabus was too cluttered around, so all the due dates to everything were confusing. I do not recommend this professor.
currently taking she is very unorganized, teaches as if we are in elementary school, she never explains things correctly or makes you feel inferior if you ask a question. overall just not a good professor at all
She is a very good profesor.
Terrible instructor. No clear grading, constantly changing assignments. No feedback. Looses papers. Disorganized. And its not ever her fault. Avoid like the plague. Easy class but don't count on passing.
I really like Mrs Anderson, I learned a lot in her class. She is passionate about what she teaches. And although she gives a lot of homework is for your good. What I got from her teaching, is to do your most best and you get the good grade. She prepares you. She was one of my general classes. But I would definitely choose her again.
She's an amazing teacher. She has a passion for teaching and is very kind.
This is true She is taugh but Mrs Anderson is a Professor and her experiences its very important, if you want to take this class just keep in mind to understand her directions and keep any assignments do not mess up around. I learned a lot with her that was my goal TO LEARN!!
Average amount of work. About 4 or so typed papers. Not much homework. Tests are identical to study guides. Super specific as to what she wants in papers. Doesn't give feedback or explanation as to why points are docked. Makes one feel dumb for asking a question. Passionate and knowledgeable on subject matter but is not engaging with students.
Shes a little complicated..I liked her class but she never gave our grades. If you ask about it, she most likely wont tell you. Her homework is easy, just study guides that basically are the answers on all her tests. Many handouts. About 4/5 papers. Class presentations and group projects are #1 on her list. Shes a bit confusing with things.
Study the study guides and you will pass all the exams.
She gives a lot of work but its not difficult. And her test arent hard because she gives a study guide and its exactly the same as the test.
Nice and interesting lectures, can have a little bit of an attitude. And she can be unorganized, doesnt give you back your work for a long time so you dont really know your grade. But overall easy class.
Gayla is an amazing teacher. I have 5 child development classes and hers is by far the most interesting. She does have you write fairly complicated and lengthy papers regarding child observations related to child psychology but her tests are super easy to study for (study guide given). She has so much info to give and she packs every moment in.
Her class is easy. She gives out study guides that make testtaking easy. There are some papers, but they are not very difficult if you follow her instructions.
It is easy to pass her class its just a lot of filler work like homework assignments. The study guide is the test.
A lot of homework, test were easy since it was the same as the study guide. attendance is a must to pass her class
Pretty tough on grading. Decent teacher.
She expects you to have in interactive class discussion, so do the reading. Assigns lengthy work but its because she wants you to understand the concept. Goes over the study guides and that is exactly what is on the chapter exams.
I felt that she was a good professor. she really doesn't have lectures so you will have to do the book work and study guides to do good in the class. The test and the studies guides are the same thing.
I don't really like her because she is rude and doesn't care what other people say. she thinks she is the best professor and in my opinion she's not. Her work isn't hard she just gives out a lot at the same time.
Make sure to do the study guides bc they're exactly like the tests word-for-word. Overall the class is extremely easy, and Prof. Anderson is a sweetie a majority of the time. Make sure to do the child development projects as each one is about 100+ points and can harm your grade, and ALWAYS add proof of research pics unless you want an F on them.
This class is easy if you use the book and also the tests are the same as the studying guide. The Studying Guide is on Quizlet.
Horrible Grader. I completed work and submitted it on time and she said she never received it. I sent her proof and she still didn't care. She then gave me poorly on a paper and when I asked why she said I missed things that were never in the instructions. She also takes long to answer back on emails. I definitely do not recommend her.
If you want a teacher who cares about your success don't take this class. During the first class, she asked what I want my career to be and when I told her she laughed and moved on. She only said encouraging words to the students who were doing what she did (which was having a daycare). Shes rude, doesn't respond to emails, and doesn't commincate.
i took it as an 8 week course 6+ assignments per week its manageable. she doesn't accept late work the midterm and final are fairly easy. i don't think she knows much about technology responded to email were short
I did not like her grading or her way of teaching. I would not recommend her to anyone. If possible avoid her class.
There is no clarity or feedback on why some grading is done. Ideally you'd want to know how to be successful moving forward in the semester. When contacted the responses are very vague and come off a bit rude. You'll feel as if you are a bother. Not tech savvy and you will be penalized for mistakes on her end. Consider your future when registering!
