BORING! Just reads the overhead notes! Easy B with attendance points and assignments (5) but exams are like the ones in Comm 1310 - Really Unclear! Not Bad If You're Cool with a B b/c an A is pretty tough but not out-of-reach.
Easy class, and interesting. Notes are exactly like the readings, so you can do one or the other.
Good teach.
reallly easy class.. but i recommend actually going!! i got screwed bc i never went to class and theres a lot of in class easy assignments! tests are straight from the review and book nobody should have a problem with this class

wow... where to begin. she gives ok notes i guess. lectures are boring. i honestly think that she isnt all there in the head. the class involves inclass videos and CPS pads, which are a waste of time and money in this class, but they are required. text is almost unnessecary. easy class but it sucks at the same time.... the class is all common sense but with a vocab list and a little bit of history.
Easy Class...took it at once a week at night so it was hard to go to. There is attendance though. Lectures are ok ,and tests are easy if you study your notes. Dont need the textbook at all

I like this lady. She very cool and her class is super easy, but show up for the in class assignments, which are easy A's. All the quizzes are online. The subject is very interesting, and she even talks about sex! At the end of class, she even sang a song
Slightly boring and exciting at the same time. Lectures are all power point so that's good. Test was random book stuff that you have to read. Easy class if you study.
She is such a sweet lady. I loved her class cause it was easy. If you don't have a problem with going to class everyday, then she's your girl!! She is extremly helpful, and there is a midterm and a final. Again, attendance is key in her class. I would def love to take her again. She is a wonderful person!!
she really loves what she teaches so therefore that makes class interesting. I found her tests kind of hard. you HAVE to read the book to do good on the tests. in my class there was an attendence policy, only a midterm and final, quizzes online, and in-class assignments. we had to buy CPS pads but it wasnt vital that we have them every class period
Pretty easy class in comparison to psycology. Quizzes are on blackboard, extremely easy and can be taken an unlimited # of times. Watch out, though!! Don't get too confident on the quizzes or you'll blow the midterm and final!! Go to class and keep up with the reading and you'll do fine!
fairly easy class. you should make sure you try to get every point you possibly can on all the quizes and assignments so you don't have to worry about the tests as much. gives you extra credit options, and is a very nice lady. class can be interesting, but sometimes boring and long.
probably my favorite teacher, she's a sweet lady and makes the class interesting and pretty easy.
Easy A w/ effort. Easy B w/ little effort. Need both books. Do your readings when they are assigned, not the night before the test. Quizzes online, can retake as many times, until you get 100. 5 or so EASY homework assignments. Two tests, midterm and final. Use your book religiously to study for the tests. Attendance taking daily, CPS pads.
Class is pretty easy, I didnt find it very interesting but it wasnt unbearable...
Interesting class... but she gets most of the material from the book... so if you dont like going to class than just read the book and youll pass the midterm and final with no problem... overall not bad but not great... kind of a blow off course.
I took her for sociology and social problems this past semester and she is a very good teacher. The notes are crystal clear and all you have to do is study them and you should make and A. In social problems she took us to the kyle correctional prison and made you do all kinds of projects and things that really make you think. Highly recommend
Class is easy and interesting. Dont miss any of the quizzes though...
Not all that easy considering the only tests are the midterm(25%) and final (35%). No review is given and she does not go over assigned readings. Assignments are in class and unannounced so you have to go everyday. I got an A but I wouldn't really say it was an easy A.
Professor is really nice and this class is not easy but its not HARD. I feel like if you are organized and do your work you can make an A. Do the online Quizzes and print them out because she uses those questions on the 2 mid terms. Go to class b/c she takes attendance everyday.
Very interesting class and an awesome teacher!! We watched interesting videos every Friday and she made going to class fun. I would highly recommend her to anyone!
I took professor Bouzard for the first sociology of sexuality class. It's an amazing class. She encourages group discussion, and we even had a debate over abortion in the class. It is a lot of reading, but it's really interesting material to read. She also played guitar and sang for us at the end of the semester. She's pretty cool.
The tests are easy..they come right from the powerpoints! Her lectures can be boring, but she really knows what she is talking about. Attendance is mandatory...so that stinks sometimes. Study and take notes and you will do fine!
Interesting subject & easy tests that come straight from powerpoints, but Bouzard is soooooooo boring. Many days it would take her almost 30 mins to go over 1 slide. 1st semester the Soci dept used online txtbk & it was horrible information wise. There were quizzes that were really easy and helped boast your grade but wouldve preferred a real book
She's a pretty boring lady, but nice. I have to admit I never looked forward going to her class cause it seemed to just drag on and on BUT it's an easy A if you go and take notes. Her tests are pretty easy, they mainly go off of her lecture material. I think I opened the book 1 time. Lots of extra credit and side assignments. Try her out!
Overall, boring class. but some days will surprise you..shes a good professor overall just lectures ALOT. Attendance not mandatory but if you dont miss any classes she gives you 15 ex points. plus extra credit is given. Last few days of class she goes over sexuality... and sings songs with her guitar! overall, easy as long as you take the notes.
overall great class but very boring. as long as u take notes u will pass. the best classes are at the end about sexuality and maybe the lost boys which was in the middle and she sings on the last day of class.
Mrs. Bouzard was my favorite teacher last semester. She is friendly, nice, and makes class interesting by encouraging open ended discussion. She was cool and had a good sense of humor. Her class was fairly easy too. If you take notes, pay attention, and go to class it's very hard not to make an A. She gives a ton of extra credit opportunities too!
Super boring, don't use phone she takes them up,don't miss class bc lots of in class assignments that are neccessary to pass, tests are kind of common sense but do takes notes and study, book I never used just notes
She is a very nice woman who truly enjoys teaching sociology. Attendance wasnt mandatory but she did have a few in class pop quizzes that you can't make up if you miss. I usually went to class but towards the end of the semester if I missed a class I would just study the key terms in the book and I was just fine. Overall, I enjoyed her class.
Great teacher, very enthusiastic. Not a bad singer either!
She's very interested in Sociology and loves teaching it. She cracks jokes all the time that are funny because they're so lame. Attendance isn't mandatory but you get bonus points if you go to class. In class assignments can't be made up if you don't go to class. Tests are straight from the powerpoints, but you do need to really study them.
professer bouzard is pretty cool...at first i didn't like her class because i forgot the first assignment and failed the first test, but i started doing well and i love her class!
You can tell bouzard enjoys teaching. We watched some documentaries and discussed them which was pretty cool. She made the class interesting. It was pretty easy if you studied a little. I'd recommend her.
This class is really easy if you just pay attention. You ge 15 extra credit points if you show up to every class. There is 1 homework assignment a week; but its just for completion. Test is 90% lecture notes that she posts most of the time. 1 paper; 1 page long. 3 tests. Final isnt cumulative. I got Bs on my tests but got an A with extra credit.
Good teacher. Does a point system so it's easy to make an A! Take her class!
I made an A. A little extra credit is given. Tests are easy. There are study sessions. She's friendly but tough. Attendance is mandatory for extra credit. One in class quiz. Lots of videos in class. She's interesting. Take her!
Made a B because i underestimated the class going into it. It's easy if you study, but you have to know how to apply the theories and such of sociology to other things, that's how the tests are organized. She gave a review after the whole class did poorly on the first test which was very helpful.
Class is informative and easy. She takes attendance but does not count attendance in grades. Good class.
Bouzard is an awesome teacher. Brillianty organized. Tests are easy if you just look over the study guide which can easily be filled out with notes from class. Played on facebook 90% of class time and made an A. I will definitely try to take her again for my sociology minor.
The tests are easy, but she is awful. Will lecture the class about cell phone use, group participation grade is affected by people leaving to go to the bathroom, and if you have to leave early she will yell at you while you're walking out. She seems very moody. And the material is 60% boring.
Provides notes online for you to print out. Online homework's are common sense make sure you do them, due every sunday. Tests are easy, as long as you briefly study the notes you'll get a B at least. She shows movies too that help you understand what she's talking about.
An amazing professor, you can tell she absolutely loves teaching. She uses movies, youtube clips, and interactive activities to keep you interested.
Bouzard was a good professor for the most part. She was very monotone however which made lectures very boring but the material was pretty interesting. She did have some fun days too and she was actually kind of funny. IF YOU DON'T READ, YOU WILL NOT PASS! Go to the review sessions and read and you are guaranteed an A.
Honestly this was my favorite professor and class my first semester. Lectures are lengthy but very interesting, and she keep you engaged with cool documentaries and such. Tests are exactly what is talked about in class and in the notes. Study sessions provided which helps too. I will remember this class for the rest of my life (in a good way)
Lectures are long, she hates phones being out during her lecture time, have your phone out she will mark you absent, she's a great teacher, likes to joke around, exams are verbatim, homework is simple cause it's online, takes attendance everyday
Easy class
Bouzard was awesome!!! I would defiant take her again! Her lectures go hand and hand with the notes. She explains everything really well and shows lots of movies that correlates with what she talking about. Don't be on your phone or she will kick you out. Gives extra credit. 3 test and 1 major paper.
Bouzard is a really good teacher and I would recommend taking her class. She gives extra credit for coming to class. She is the best teacher to go to if you have any questions. She also has really good lectures and explains the powerpoint in great detail for people to understand with more ease.
Amazing professor. She is such a super sweet lady who does a great job at teaching and having her students engage. 3 exams and 1 major paper that you actually learn a lot from. She even sung and played guitar for us on the last day of class! Take her!
Attendance is not mandatory, but it is extra credit. She does give participation grades. Her test are easy if you study the materials she gives you. Over all she is a very nice teacher.
EASY CLASS. The 3 exams consist of take home essays (which she gives you in advance to work on) and 40 multiple choice questions. The questions are fairly general and are just common sense. Only on the final (which is NOT cumulative) are there more specific notes-related questions. There is a 3 pg. research paper but it's not difficult at all.
Dr. Bouzard is incredibly passionate about what she teaches. She tries to engage the class as much as possible by doing group work and having open discussions. There are 3 exams which are composed of take-home essays and 40 multiple choice; they are not hard. There is also one research paper that's 3 pages long, but it's not too difficult either.
Amazing class and amazing professor. Take Professor Bouzard if you can. She is passionate and makes this awkward class so fun and entertaining! All exams have a take home essay. Don't be intimidated, just include the information she is asking for and you will get an A.
I love Dr. Bouzard. She is a die-hard feminist and she knows her stuff. This was an intro class, so it was pretty easy. We had lots of great class discussions. She is very considerate of other's opinions and very respected. She is also very funny and she gives great lectures.
Definitely take Bouzard for into to Sociology. Nice professor who offers extra credit. In class assignments are all participation grades. Tests are a bit tough and only a little bit of easy online homework. Uses lots of videos and movies to teach her lessons.
Overall a pretty easy class. Her lectures are pretty interesting and we have a lot of class discussions. You will have weekly online quizzes, 3 tests, and one 1-page essay, and 6 participation grades. So don't skip class or you wont pass. She offers a little bit of extra credit.
The first test is the hardest since you can't really study for it. Just try to do well on the take-home essays which are half of your test grade. Begin getting research paper sources way before your big research paper is due, that took the longest for me as well as the bibliography. Loved this class, overall. Take Bouzard, you won't regret it!
Dr. Bouzard was a very good professor. Overall, she is a very sweet lady and definitely cares about her students. Tests are tough but if you pay attention in class and do the homework assignments, you will do well in the class.
Dr. Bouzard is one of the best professors I took at txstate. She is a great person and a terrific teacher. There are 6 in-class group assignments that are very easy. And a paper assignment that is due at the end of the semester.
She's a pretty good teacher and is very understanding. Study for the tests, first one is the hardest. One paper is due and she grades pretty easy on it. She REALLY hates when you have your phone out or talk during class, she will call you out in front of the class. WORST thing about her class is that she assigns you a seat for the whole semester
I loved this professor and it made me love sociology. I honestly enjoyed going to class. She always made class fun. There is a lot of in class group work. There was one essay that was pretty easy, it was only 1 page.
SUCH A GREAT PROFESSOR. Took her for my intro to sociology class and for sociology of sexuality, and if given the chance 10/10 would take again. Shes very passionate about what she teaches and allows you to discuss your opinions, no matter how crazy. If you ever have to take a sociology class at TXST, soci major or not, definitely take her.
Great lectures, videos here & there, easy tests if you study, plenty of pauses for comments/questions, extra credit opportunities, etc. Only downsides are that you have to buy an access code in order to complete online assignments, and there is a seating chart in which people who use laptops have to sit in the back. She's a great person/teacher.
She is an easy grader, as long as you do the work you'll do well. Attendance is extra credit and lectures are interesting and often funny. Test are half multiple choice and half an essay that you write before and usually isn't too hard. It's interesting to learn about sex from an older christian lady and she really knows what she is talking about.
I loved her class she was very involved with the class and made the class really fun. exams were lengthy but she took attendance for a grade and she also did many in-class group work.
She is one of the best professors at Texas State. She is hilarious. She will listen to anything someone has to say. Her tests are ridiculously easy if you read the assigned reading and going to class. She offers a TON of extra credit. Her exam essays are all take home. Take her sexuality class you won't regret it!
I have her for Sociology 101 and she's not the best. Sociology is my major and have a passion for it but this prof kills it for me. She's one of those prof that put a movie on in class and makes u watch it. Like, hello, Im paying thousands of dollars for this?? Her tests are terrible too. 10/10 don't waste ur time and find a new prof.
I have her during the corona crap and its really easy. in the beginning she made us buy this vantage thing ($70) and its all online quizzes and tests due by a certain time. For class she just makes us do that and takes a grade for it.
I took her for in person, and online. In the beginning, I was in person but due to covid it was switched to online mid semester. The book was online, and has little quizzes with it and that was a homework grade. The test were super easy if you study the online quizzes, and listen to the lecture. Love Dr. Bouzard, and would for sure take her again.
How this prof was during the pandemic: face-to-face only and could've communicated more outside of lecture (as far as assignment/reminders); so you have to attend or have a friend in the class to know some things. Did not make attendance mandatory and encouraged students to stay home if they're feeling bad in any way. Had some at-home work days.
Prof. Bouzard was a really good professor, she gives a lot of time for you to finish your work and emails back quickly. Lot of grades are completion, even the final.
Whatever you do, stay away from this professor. She is extremely inconsiderate and doesn't care about her student's grades. She takes forever to answer her emails or just simply doesn't. The book portion of the course is easy as long as you stay on top of it. Lectures are boring and long.
If you take this class online its pretty much a guaranteed A. All assignments are online through the textbook on Vantage as well as tests. Tests are given 3 attempts with no time limits. I did not attend a single lecture and got almost a 100 in this class.
Super nice prof and always tried to encourage class discussions. After every test she asked us what we honestly thought and she took the feedback and made changes. The tests are more about understanding and applying theories to situations, so don't just memorize terms!!
Prof. Bouzard is such a kind person. She gives out extra credit and room for you to improve your grade and as long as you do the vantage readings and study for the exams youll do good. Attendance is mandatory and if you get a perfect attendance shell reward you for that
I had Professor Bouzard for her sexuality class and it was so inspiring/eye opening. Each test has a paper, and 50 questions. One lit review paper, makes you look at recent research on a topic of sexuality- was very fun if you loved reading! (Like me) Would love to take this class again!
This class was so much fun! The professor really sets a comfortable environment to talk about a lot of serious topics. Most of our lectures was actually just class discussion since the content was short. Each test has an essay and then theres one giant research paper but its all relatively easy.
Such an easy class. The only grades in this course are the online textbook assignments (which are completion grades), the 3 in-person exams, and in-class group work. The exams are not hard as long as you study for them. Bouzard makes study guides that are very helpful on the exams so just look over them before test day.
I absolutely loved Professor Bouzard's lectures, I changed my major to sociology during this course if that shows any significance. Exams do need a fair amount of studying but they are usually curved slightly as A's (at least in my class) were rare. I plan on taking her sexuality class soon. 10/10 she is wonderful.
Professor Bouzard is the sweetest person ever. Lectures are easy to follow. The class is extremely easy. The attendance isn't mandatory. You don't need to go to class to pass, all you have to so is make to take notes on the powerpoints on canvas and do the vantage assignments which takes like 20 minutes max and gives you all the right answers.
I loved this class solely based on Prof Bouzard. She gives great lectures and is always willing to explain if you don't understand. There are 4 tests, and vantage assignments are super easy. Highly recommend her!!!
You can tell the professor cares about what she is teaching, which makes lectures interesting. Vantage assignments are easy to complete, and tests follow the vantage chapters and lectures. Attendance isn't mandatory but the lectures are more helpful for the tests.
Shes a sweet lady, very understanding. attendence doesnt matter but you do have to attend on group work days, however group work days are super easy and essentially you just need to participate in the assignment for that day. overall shes super chill and i would take her again!!
This class was not difficult when it came to homework. The part that messed up my grade was the difficulty of the tests which are 54% of the grade. Your grade will be determined by how much outside effort you put into studying. She is funny and a great person and knows her subject very well.
For an introduction class, this class is pretty easy. 3 tests over the material, with the last one counting as your "final." The professor is very sweet and loves to engage with her classes. Keeping up with the homework is really easy, and group work is listed as dates in the syllabus, so you know when you have to attend/when you can skip.
Absolutely love this professor. She is very down to earth and explains all of the material well. She is also hilarious and kind. Would for sure take her class again!
