Her grading is very eradic. No one in the class knew what they were going to get on a test or a paper. You'll have three essays and three tests (drop the lowest test). Do good early so you can just take off the last third of the semester. Don't expect your normal grade, think one grade lower.

Wouldn't take again

The content is not challenging, just very tedious. There are 5 forum discussion posts and 2 essays for each unit. Very particular about essay format, word count, and will mark you down for the most mundane things. Feedback on assignments is not helpful, and she's anal-retentive about the syllabus. Stupid, time-consuming class, but easy to pass

Homework isn't necessarily hard, but it it's a lot of work for a 100-level class. I had to turn in a 1400-word final just two days after I turned in a 700-word essay. Please do not take this class.

Honestly don't take this class. She makes this GE class hard & time consuming for absolutely no reason. She's not a straightforward professor either. The class structure is just super messy and the work is so tedious -- she expects way too much. Other students have their upper div major classes to worry about like c'mon lol

It is A LOT of busy work for a 300-level course. It's reading from the books and from her powerpoints, plus any additional excerpts. Then there are required discussion board posts, plus you have to reply to 3 other people, every week. Then there's 4 papers to write about primary sources. Then the midterm and the final are both 2 essays each.

Weekly papers. The midterm and final are both long essay questions. If you do not like writing, do not take the course. Professor Brunelle does not teach the course, it is flipped learning and asynchronous so if you have any sort of questions you will need to go out of your way to ask them rather than being able to ask them directly.

Absolutely horrendous professor. She assigns multiple papers that dont need to be as complicated as she wants them, its as if she enjoys reading hundreds of essays during her free time. The final is two 750 word minimum essays she claims to be made of only 2 questions, but each question is filled with numerous more smaller ones. Shes clueless.

I'm not sure why this class had so much writing required. It had the most work assigned out of all of my classes by far. The assignments themselves weren't actually that hard though, and professor Brunelle gave good feedback on my papers and many of the discussion prompts were actually pretty relevant to today. Overall not bad just time consuming.

The class is extremely tedious! Homework consisted of discussion posts (must use evidence from textbook & reply to 3 other students), 4 primary source papers & 1 midterm (2 questions) and a final (2 questions) - ALOT of papers, therefore, if you do not like writing papers - this class is not for you :( Material is interesting though!

Was excited to learn the history of magic & witchcraft, but this class made it very difficult to enjoy any of it. So many boring readings every week with difficult discussion posts. We wrote so many primary sources which the prompts made it difficult to write 4 pages worth, I always ended up repeating myself. Tough grader for most part.
