I love him! He is funny in a quirky way, he loves what he teaches and is very approachable. gives study guides for the tests, tells you exaclty what is on it and they come straight fromt the powerpoints that he provides for you. He is awesome, i loved this class

I loved this class, tons of hands on experiments so we could have ideas to teach to our kids in the future. He loves what he teaches, so easy to talk too, very funny quirky guy! He makes it worth going because you laugh a lot and also learn what we are supposed too. :)

I LOVE THIS MAN! He's so cute and goofy. He gave me a lot of ideas of what kind of "labs" I could use in the future when I teach my kids. No tests or quizzes, easy labs, and easy final. Unfortunately, EVERYONE loves him, so his classes go REALLY quickly! I'm still trying to get into GSCI 164 for next semester...

I love him! He is one of the best teachers I have ever had. He is extremely approachable and really funny. He actually gave us information that we will use, unlike most classes. I absolutely adored him and if you need to take GSCI161 TAKE HIM!!! =)

Dr. Albright still manages to be one of the most entertaining teacher with his amusing facts, interesting tangents, and a tint of geek-ness. It's been awesome knowing him since my junior year in high school (he's a physics/astronomy teacher there) and his enthusiasm about his subject never fail to interest me. Easy but very interesting/fun class

Geary is am AMAZING professor. He's very helpful and actually wants you to succeed. Attendance is not mandatory, but you will actually want to go to class. He makes is so much fun and interesting. I HIGHLY recommend taking him! I suck at science and I still got an A. :)

The class is tougher than you would expect, but Prof Albright was a good teacher. He tried his best to explain things in Layman's terms for the class. He did go on tangents somewhat often, but usually they were entertaining and funny. Very easy assignments every class that if you just write something down he gives you 5/5 on it. Loved him! Take it!

GEARY IS THE BEST. hands down amazing professor. I can't stand science, but I get excited to go to his class. Sometimes he babbles a little bit, but in a fun and educational way; that's how you learn the coolest stuff! Take his class if you can.

He rants on about stuff all the time and takes forever to grade. Class isn't easy, unless you're referring to the fact that he's easy on the eyes. Only reason I would bother taking the class is cause he's hot.

He's so sweet and funny and an easy teacher! I absolutely loved his class and I plan on taking all of my other gsci classes with him too!

He's pretty much the nicest guy ever. A halarious geek. Do not be fooled by these comments that say it's an easy class - he wants you to succeed but you also have to work for it. Definitely possible to do well, I did, but you have to show up and work for it. I can't imagine a better intro to ASTR class.

New at teaching gsci, but his class is super interesting. Does awesome experiments at least once a week, like shooting smoke rings with an air cannon. Unfortunately physics is always going to be difficult, but the labs and hw's will help your grade alot. Basically tells you whats going to be on the test but its still not easy. TAKE HIM FOR GSCI!!!

He is so funny and keeps you interested with jokes and experiments. There are 3 tests and rarely homework that he gives you the answers to before you turn it in. The info obviously is boring but he's awesome and knows not everyone is a science major! Take him!!!

Such a funny guy! He understands it's a gen ed and tells you exactly what will be on the test. A few class labs, no textbook, and rarely homework - definitely the most reasonable gen ed I've taken. ABSOLUTELY TAKE GEARY

He made the class pretty interesting, and he made sure that you passed the class as long as you came to class. Overall, if you can take him for GSCI I would!

If you don't take Geary for one of your science courses you are missing out! He's funny, doesn't give homework, and flat out either tells you what will be on the exam or lets you take it home and do it and to top it off before grading it lets you asks questions on the ones you had trouble with. Great teacher. Must have!

Albright is the man. He realizes that most students in the class simply need to fill a GenEd requirement and designs the class according. Not an overwhelming class in any right, take!

I love this man! This was such a nice and easy class, we only had homework like 1 time! Only test is the final, and he gives it to us ahead of time so we can learn the answers. He always gives away stuff and does fun experiments. Super easy A

This class was probably the easiest class I have ever taken at JMU - mostly because he forms the content around his awareness that most of us are just taking it as a GenEd requirement. Sadly (or not, depending on your view), he didn't really discuss chemistry - he replaced it with astronomy. Incredibly easy A.

Professor Albright is one of the sweetest professors! He is so understanding and approachable. He really enjoys the subject and realizes most people only take the class because they have to. He tries to make it fun! Definitely take him!

Probably the best science teacher that I have ever had just because he makes the class super easy. He gives homework and then gives the answers the next day in class. Both exams are take home and you get almost a week to do it, and he even gave my class the majority of the answers to the exams. I highly recommend him if you want a super easy A.

This class was such an amazing experience. Dr. Albright was more concerned about us enjoying what we were learning than just being able to "prove that we can study". He's a funny guy, and he's lectures are always interesting. It was a class I always looked forward to coming into. His stories will entertain you to no end.

Geary is the best teacher I've had at JMU. He really gets you excited about teaching. His class is exciting because it's a lot of fun little projects that you can do with your future students. I highly recommend for the teaching sciences, he will make you into a great teacher.

Geary is a fabulous human being. His goal in this class (now ISCI 171 (planets) and ISCI 172 (physchem) is to get his students to be excited about teaching. He does have a repetitive speech pattern ("like, in my opinion, I'm just an astronomer...") but it's easy to get past that once you see how awesome he is. Little work, cool projects.

Geary's the man! He's so adorable and cares about you learning valuable things to be a good teacher in the future way more than grades. There are basically no grades except a few worksheets which are graded for participation and then a take home final. He makes sure you get an A. He is so inspirational, too. I want him to teach all of my classes!

Geary is a fun guy. He intends for his class to be an enjoyable, easy A. You mainly do labs and one group teaching project about a planet. Otherwise, he rambles about astronomy and other random things. If you are looking to learn a lot, I wouldn't take this class, but it is really fun and you'll make a lot of moon-related crafts.

Geary is the absolute best. The class is designed so you are pretty much guaranteed an A. He also provides a lot of good advice for teaching just in general. All around wonderful guy.

Geary is a really great guy. He is really passionate about his topics, hes funny, and the class is easy. We do a lot of experiments that can be used in the classroom, which is really cool. And he gives us a lot of teacher swag. If you can take Geary I would, its just a great experience.

Go to class. Attendance isn't mandatory but the in class worksheets will make or break your grade. He is not very structured so if you need structure you may want someone else. Very easily goes off on tangents, but still a funny guy. Take home midterm and the final was half take home and half in class, but super easy.

TAKE GEARY. HE IS AMAZING. He gives you a lot of fun things related to science to help you teach. He also gives great advice for teaching. He really knows what he is talking about. I am taking him again next semester. He is very laid back but gives really amazing lectures.

He runs the planetarium so it's super cool to visit there and learn about the stars. He is a gem. If you can take his course, do it and then do it again.

Class is mostly listening to Geary speak which is an absolute delight. Very informative ASTR professor who provides snacks when you attend the Planetarium. TAKE HIM!

Spring 2020: You get a lab booklet at the beginning of the semester which has all your assignments in it. Albright taught the first half of the semester in the planetarium (Mulia taught second half). Albright is an awesome professor and very funny! He makes it easy to get full credit on the labs.

albright's class was one of my favorites. it's hard to say exactly what you can expect for an in-person class bc my class with him was hybrid but the time in the planetarium is always so much fun and he's a funny guy who cares about his students. my only complaint is that sometimes it's hard to know what he does/doesn't want us to know for tests.

This class was online so I'm not sure how it would be in person but Professor Albright was by far the most understanding professor I've had so far. He understands that everyone is going through hard times and works around it. Really cool personable guy, feels comfortable talking to him. Would definitely recommend.

I took this class as a gen ed not knowing much about astronomy and I was lucky to get into Gearys class. His lectures were really interesting, and he graded worksheets every class based on the lectures. He was an easy grader on the work sheets, but it was just to make sure you were paying attention to the lecture and attending class. Sweet guy.

Loved this class! He included many fun labs and made lectures very fun and interesting! Easy class, not test heavy at all. If you attend class and do the worksheets in class you're getting an A! He made learning fun!

Easy and interesting class. Professor Albright is so kind, funny, understanding, and adorable. He's also an easy grader. Only 2 exams and he gives you the short answer questions in advance. He's played guitar for us and we sing along. So fun. He's taught me life lessons without even meaning to.

TAKE HIM!! 5 point assignment every day that he gives answers to for attendance. Posts short answers for final and midterm (only tests) in advance. Really cool dude with a lot of stories/advice and makes astronomy actually cool. Also provides a lot of extra credit to help make up points missing. Could not recommend this class enough!

Quite possibly the best, most fun professor at JMU. I learned a TON from his class (more than any other this semester). But he somehow made the class extremely fun and laid back at the same time. I never skipped a class - not because I would miss content (he posts slides) but because I wanted to be there. Take this man's class. You won't regret it.

So funny and laid back. This class is also kind of relaxing because you get to look at the night sky sometimes. Attendance isn't taken, but every class there's a worksheet that you fill out that he does with you that's worth like 5 points. The bottom three are dropped. A midterm and final, and he gives you half the answers beforehand. I love Geary.

TAKE HIS CLASS!!!!! I cannot recommend him enough, attendance isn't mandatory, he helps you out with the midterm and final, and drops your 4 lowest classwork grades. PLUS sometimes you sing as a class, he's just a great guy and a fun teacher, do yourself a favor and spend some time with Geary!

Amazing professor, one of the best I've ever had. Genuinely can't say enough good things about this man. So understanding and caring. Will let you make up missed class assignments. Grade is based on in class assignments, the midterm, and the final. Gives you the short answer test questions and answers in advance and the MC topics. Take this class!

Wow. Just wow. The funniest, most amazing professor of all time. His class is so comfortable I fell asleep on multiple occasions. I never wanted the class to end. He was really good at teaching, and if you feel like you're struggling he kind of just gives you all the answers for tests so it isn't too difficult.

He can go on some pretty boring tangents but Dr. Albright is so hilarious and you can tell he loves what he does. The class is pretty easy and has a lot of cool and helpful visuals in the planetarium, Albright also does a good job at giving basic astronomical skills that I still impress my friends with.

Professor Albright is such a caring and funny guy who enjoys teaching and loves to talk about Astronomy. Honestly I dont know what to say that hasnt been said about Geary. Would take again in an instant but doesnt seem to be teaching this anymore :( If you can take this class or any class with him. DO IT, attendance is done thru in class worksheets daily 5 pts each. Midterm and final are a big chunks of grade (midterm 113 points) (final 130 points).

This is one of the best classes I've taken at JMU. He gives you all the attendance activities and just talks about the material but only goes over the really important things. He gives you the short answer questions for the midterm and final and gives you a study guide for the multiple choice. He such an amazing professor

He's one of the funniest professors I've had and he really cares about his students and the topics he teaches. Besides the midterm and final there aren't really other assignments. He does worksheets every class but he tells you the answers and doesn't take off points if you don't do them.
