Don't have to buy the book. As laid back as any econ teacher can be. Drops lowest test score. Very helpful and clarifies if you have questions. Show up every class and you'll do fine. Some homework at the beginning of the semester but less and less as time goes on.
This class was so much fun! She definitely made it easy and fun to learn! Test were based on notes and study guides so attendance is a must! There was a topic report but she went over all the information so it was incredibly easy! 4 test plus the final but she drops the lowest test grade.
Dr Rajaram's class is pretty straight forward. There's no tricks, just copy down the notes she writes on the board and study it cause all the questions for the exam is based on the notes. The class doesnt require the textbook so dont bother buying it. I highly recommend Dr Rajaram's for Economics (:
she is te best teacher ever if u wanna get A in econ 1 or 2 just go and take her class, her notes are very important just take it n u wont feel stress
Made Econ very non-threatening. I was a little worried at first, but she made it very easy. Just copy down the notes and you'll be fine. I went into her office hours and she was very helpful. However, I was a noob and bought the very pricey ($200) textbook and didn't use it once. Kinda a bummer, but the easiness of the class made up for it.
Great teacher. Just study the notes from class and the test will be very simple. she drops the lowest test and you don't need the book so DON'T BUY IT!!!!
MAX EASY, didnt take notes (recommend if you dont already have an understanding of econ) was almost positive i was going to get a b but i got an A
Fabulous teacher, even more fabulous lady. She makes econ SO easy to understand. The lowest test was dropped. The book is unnecessary. Just go to class, take notes, and you will be more than okay. Gives a little extra credit and points for homework as well. DEFINITELY taking her again.
She was AWESOME! She made all my fear for Econ fly out the window. She's extremely funny and can talk all day, but this lady knows what she's talking about. Her exams are similar to the homework, so take notes and do it! Class is MANDATORY, miss one day and you'll be lost. Take her, she will help you receive an A!
Mrs Rajaram's lectures are important. She doesnt really use the book so dont miss class.I recommend you buy the book anyways because sometimes she falls behind on schedule and lectures really fast or gives you two days to prepare for an exam. Theres four exams and a final+a written report which is easy if you are on track. HomeW is the study guide.
I had no economics knowledge prior to this class, it was hard in the beginning but after getting used to practicing examples from her notes it became very easy. Exams are on the notes you've taken in class so attendance is important; 5 exams, lowest score dropped on 1; 1 essay paper; and minimal homework. Save your money, don't buy the book. A+++
Makes a boring (in my opinion) topic very interesting and easy to understand. She's the reason I am taking the next level of Econ. Do your homework, and you're fine. Don't buy the book, you never use it. I thought I finished with a B or C but ended up with an A. RECOMMEND!!!
This was one of the easiest classes I've ever taken. Wastes half the class telling dumb and irreverent stories. Her lectures aren't very good. She does example problems that are exactly like the problems on the exam. It's very mechanical. She never explains the concepts. Easy A, but a complete waste of time.
Excellent & funny professor. Lectures are easy to understand. There's homework almost every meeting but it's not difficult. It's the same as the lectures. Exams can be hard if you didn't study. She only checks attendance on days where homework is due. Only gave extra credit once (do it, it's a lot of points!) Don't buy the book, never used it.
Professor Rajaram is the best teacher in Economics. She is an angel, she will help/advice you if you ask. She explains everything very clear and makes the class fun and interesting. I took Econ 1,2, & 3 with her and passed with As. She has encouraged me to major in Econ also. Pay attention to her lectures and the homework & tests will be easy. TYPR
She's a funny gal, but I did not like the way she lectured. No PP just lectures from her head, so the notes were kind of all over the place. I recommend to buy the book if ur not a person that can easily learn from just lectures. Overall, its not a hard class to get an A in if you study! Just do ur hw & practice it. The tests are based on both
She was funny and her lectures always caught your intention, I think because she was so dynamic in her lectures it was so easy to understand everything. If we didn't understand something she'd explain it in a different way and she wouldn't move on til you fully understand. She even stays when class is over for a little bit if you have questions.
If you hate lectures come here, she does lecture but she's very dynamic about it, she really holds your attention. If there is something you don't understand ask and she'll clear it up right away! She won't move on until you understand, she even stays after class for a little bit if you have any questions. She is a good quality teacher.
Great Professor. Good lectures, goes over everything. You need to put in some time and study for the tests. Book not necessary, just show up and take good notes. Not an easy A, but she is really fair and there is some extra credit. Great sense of humor.
She is super nice but will playfully "shame" you it doesn't seem like you're listening or do homework. Likes to tell stories and lecture is generally fun. Tests are passable with a little effort. The textbook is not required at all!
Really funny and enjoyable as a person, tests are super easy as long as you take notes
Professor Geetha is the best!!!! I never find boring in her class, got both A in Econ 1 and Econ 2. She was hilarious, and very passionate about economic. Her joke purpose just to made the class less tension. I don't know why there a rating told that her joke was dumb. If you said that, you never got her joke. All of her joke related to economy.
I took this class as a general education class. It was I think an easy A class as long as you do the homework. She literally asks the same thing that was on the homework.
This was my 1st online class & I'm so happy it was. I took ECON 3 for winter & it was easy. There are 12 HW assignments, 5 tests, 2 articles, 6 videos, & a final quiz. Seems like a lot, but it's easy. Pace yourself & you'll be done early(I finished in 4days)You get 2 tries on all assignments except quiz. I would recommend taking this class online.
Completely easy. See the answers. GE requirement. It seems like a very heavy workload, but this is one of the easiest classes you will take. You do everything on you own time and you get two tries and she only takes the highest score. It works extremely well for people who look for flexible schedule and due dates (because there are none)
Took her onlines course and was not disappointed. You can tell she cares about her students finishing and getting good grades. Pace yourself and you can finish FAST. I finished the course in less than a week. Trust me. Take it.
Not an easy class but it's not a hard class either. Test are majorily written with a few multiple choice. No book needed and as long as you study the practice tests she gives you and know the material you'll be fine. Had over a 100% going into the Final.
Professor Rajaram was an awesome and hilarious professor. She explains every thing very well and is willing to help you if you do not understand something. Her class is mildly work heavy but you should do the HW and attend everyday otherwise you won't pass. Its not a difficult class but not an easy class either.
She's pretty funny and keeps class interested, she's helpful and explains everything well. her class is easy IF you go to class everyday and do all the homework, if not you will fall behind and struggle. i would recommend her
Easiest class I've taken. Literally you have to be slow to not get an A in this class, and she knows this which is why you will fail if you don't complete the assignments. The course is self paced with all assignments being due at the end of the session. 2 attempts for all assignments with answers given and highest score taken.
Clear class. Notes are what's on the homework and what's on the homework is very similar to the exams. If you miss class, you missed your notes to pass the class so make a buddy if you can. Lectures are understandable and get to the point of what you need to understand. Loved this class.
Great professor. Knows economics backwards and forwards and gives very clear, palatable lectures and with relevant homework. She works hard to ensure students do well on tests. Intelligent, interesting, and pretty hilarious.
Overall, pretty good teacher. She's really caring and assigned homework is directly on the exam. She prepares you for tests and offers help after class, before class, during office hours, and will answer all your questions. Would take again!
Professor Rajaram was clear and precise in her teachings. She presents the material in a way that is easy to comprhend.
Professor Rajaram was so engaging and funny! She didn't require a textbook, but her notes are so clear and direct that you don't need one. It's a class you don't want to skip since her lecture notes are your only guide to knowing the material. She gives homework but it's minimal and very useful. I would definitely reccomend her!
Took Prof Rajaram for both Econ 1 and 2. Such a knowledgeable person. Teaches the concepts in straightforward ways. MUST attend class; what she covers in class will be on the exam. Loved how class time was used on class material and current events. She is a real economist!
I regret taking her honors course because she requires a paper that is so time consuming- she will help you and guide you through it, but still I would have rather taken the class non-honors to avoid the paper. She only gives 2 test(instead of 4 because of the complicated paper) that are based on class notes.
I took her for both econ 1 and 2 and I love her. She is such a great teacher, and funny too! If you take her class there is no way you will not pass. She does lecture a lot and we do have homework but nothing is too hard. The lowest test score is dropped and she tells you exactly what will be on each test. She does not try to trick you ever!!!
Hardest class i've ever taken, also probably my favorite class. She moves faster than any instructor i've ever had. Get ready for a challenge. She's an amazing instructor though.
Everything you need to know for homework and tests is provided during lecture. She writes everything on the board. Grading is very clear. Talks about food and her family alot but it doesn't make us fall behind the schedule.
She is an amazing professor. Her lectures is vital to the test. So, pay attention! She always have funny stories to tell. The class is worthwhile. Her tests are fairly easy if you study the notes. She breaks down the concept step by step. You don't need a textbook, because the notes are all there. I wish i could've taken her for Econ1.
She goes off topic a lot. She thinks she's funny when really she is not & she is just wasting class time. She lectures heavy & off the top of her head. So attendance is vital, you should get the book even if she doesn't use it because you will need all the help & resources you can get. She gives no extra credit but she drops the lowest test, 5exams
A great teacher at that, moderate difficulty for an A but was very easy to achieve if you just studied enough. Lectures were very well thought out and are all written down on board. Homework is based off notes and easy points. Class grade is mainly based on tests, very straight-forward class and was enjoyable.
She crams every thing and goes off topic all the time. She acts like thats the only class students are taking.
She's great! Everything on exams are from her lecture, she's funny and explains things very well. Enjoyed this class!
Very funny professor, knows her stuff. Her test follow the hw, and the hw follows her notes. Although, when we took notes she was a bit unorganized and didnt really go into detail. So if you dont get her lectures, youll have a difficult time following her hw and test. Many students seem to have struggle for that reason.
Prof Rajaram is great, super clear about the material and what she wants from students. She is an extraordinarily effective lecturer, connecting academic material to reality effortlessly. Not a whole lot of homework and tests are exactly like the homework assignments. If anyone can make econ accessible and interesting it's Geetha!
Amazing Economics professor. Clearly told us what was going to be on each test, and very caring if you don't understand or need more clarification on something. As long as you show up to each class and do the homework, you will definitely pass.
She is absolutely amazing! Her teaching style is simple and easy to understand. She gets off topic a lot (usually about family or current economic events) but still has plenty of time to get through the material. She is hilarious. She assigns a huge paper, but if you work on each section as assigned it is completely manageable! Dont procrastinate!
fabulous professor! Made it very fun to actually go to class and learn (and Im no where near a business/econ major!) She does go off on a lot of tangents so beware if thats not your taste. Hw assigned regularly but very easily and great to peek at what will be in exams. Lectures were amazing. Fairly sized workload but manageable!!
If you dont study the notes and homework you will not pass exams. Make sure not to miss class or you will miss notes since she writes on the board.
Prof Rajaram is a great person, very funny and likable. The whole class laughs at her jokes. The only problem is she doesnt get to know her students. It seems like shes nice in class but after talking to her after class or during office hours she just acts like she doesnt want to talk to you. Not very welcoming or caring about your grade.
Easy class if you put in effort and show up. Although don't expect her to be welcoming or to care about you personally. Not to mention, she often goes on tangents about how everyone gets offended easily these days... so if you're lgbt or part of any other minority group prepare to feel uncomfortable.
Easy A. You wont regret taking her (:
You were able to get through her class without the textbook but not anymore. If youre taking Econ 1 you will need to purchase the textbook now
Professor Rajaram is funny. She makes lecture enjoyable with her random stories, even though her lectures are long. A lot of note taking but necessary to pass the class. She gives you everything you need for the homework and exams. She does not use Canvas. You must print out the homework she gives you. Drops one test and gives out extra credit.
She is not a good teacher. She's all over the place herself but she demands absolute perfection from her students. Unclear, constantly changing information and making mistakes and her multiple choice tests are designed to trick you for some reason. It's a useless, labor intensive class from a frustrating teacher.
Me and my sister took her class for Econ 1&2 and during the quarantine she was very helpful and caring about her students the only way to fail her class is if you are lazy, she makes class interesting and you always know exactly what will be on tests and tries to make is super easy to pass I definitely recommend her class super easy and fun!
Professor Rajaram is the best professor I've ever taken at LBCC. She is very clear about what to do for all homework and exams. She has a wonderful personality and communicates constantly. Her classes are super easy and she makes them enjoyable. If you're looking for an excellent econ professor, she's the best one there.
Her teaching is just something else its all from her mind not once did she use a book in which usually that helps me follow along in her case i couldnt.
Took her both Econ1&Econ2. Very easy to follow and her lectures are exactly what the homework and quizzes are on. Although sometimes she can get sidetracked with her hilarious stories, she always manages to provide the vital information to pass her class. Shes actually the reason why Im minoring in Econ. Recommended every time.
Such a great instructor, her lectures are very easy to follow. My major is nowhere near related but was still able to understand and enjoy the lessons! She goes off on tangents, but it doesn't take away from the quality of lectures. The exams are straightforward and she does a review, super helpful.
She is funny in her lectures. She provides you with lots of formulas in lectures, with no examples to solve them until her weekly zoom meeting. Im losing points and getting a low grade on an extra credit assignment which is affecting my grade. When I try to contact her shes short, rude, and not understanding at all. Her lectures dont follow quiz
I took Dr. Rajaram for Honors Macroeconomics and loved it so much I took her for Honors Micro just to have her class again. Then I switched my major from political science to Economics because she made the subject so enjoyable. Now I'm about to graduate at CSULB and I WISH we had other instructors that matched her level of enthusiasm.
I took her during the fall of 2020 and she relied on Connect a lot which was nice but it was really hard to keep up with all of the assignments because there were more chapters than weeks available and then there were discussion posts every 2 weeks about we learned and different scenarios. She's nice but be prepared to be on Connect all day.
Professor Rajaram was amazing and caring. If you're an econ major or need the class take her. You learn so much but she makes class fun with her jokes. I passed both 1 and 2 with an A. She does use a website which does need to be payed for but you learn so much on it. When going over test she tells you what you got wrong and what it needs to be. :)
I appreciate the professor's willingness to teach her students without making them sound dumb. She is passionate in her teachings and lectures in a manner that is easy to understand. She will go through exam material ahead of time to prepare you for success. She will make the class interesting by speaking about the current economic events.
Enjoyed her class. Very informative. Lecture videos were easy to follow . Exams and homework easy to understand . Communication with professional exceeded expectations. Would definitely take her class again .
This class is a lot. For the online lectures, it is not mandatory to be present because she does post them after class is done. Lectures are pretty understanding usually what she goes over in the lecture is what will be on your quizzes. She also does prepare you for each quiz and test.
Although the course work is heavy. There is a lot of material to be covered during such a short period of time, but she made it worth it. I believe she was a easy professor, class was easy to understand, and well organized. If you plan on taking this professor I would totally do so. As I said there is a lot of work given, but it is manageable.
Class was easy, online textbook that you can do work on the go. For the SLO in her zoom, basically gives you all the information you need for the SLO quiz at the end of semester.
This professor was really inspiring, she taught us about current events within the economy and a bit on how to invest in Bonds and to really be smart with money. Class was pretty structured however, you gotta show up to every lecture, missing one day will confuse you on the test. And everything she teaches is exactly whats on the test
She's very funny and makes lectures interesting. I recommend if you are a Business major. Can be challenging at times but she is a great help if you ask for it.
The professor is funny in her videos but can be long. The textbook used is reasonably priced & helpful when on a budget. The online course is homework extensive & would not recommend taking it in a short semester. A 5 min quiz follows every chapter. Quizzes and exams are set up to mislead and confuse you (trick questions).
She's super responsive and easy to get a hold of but she's a nit picky grader and will dock you points for every little thing. She also monitors EVERYTHING you do on canvas so if you click away from canvas for anything she takes a point a minute away from you. Her weekly quizzes are 5 minute 5 question tests so you better be a fast reader.
Tough class. Quizzes and exams feel like they are trick questions. In other words, the answers will not be found directly in lecture notes or online text book. Assignments turned in late will have points deducted. Overall a tough course to take. Good luck.
I took this class in the summer, so it was very fast paced. I recommend taking her in a normal semester. She gives quizzes that are 5 questions and you have 5 minutes to finish it.
Around 3-4 assignments due sunday each week. You have to pay for the textbook which costs around 40 bucks. Test and quiz heavy. About 3-4 midterms within a semester, 1mcq and the other are problems questions. Picky grader will dock points off for small details. Funny professor when watching lecture vids. Have to do the work!!
Attendance isn't mandatory but you need the lectures to pass. She posts old zoom lectures but they're different from her currently lectures. Pay attention and do the work the class is pretty easy. If you take honors, you have to do a big research paper, but you do it through out the semester and she helps you so make sure you're on top of that.
The lectures were good but long and she has a 5-minute quiz with hard to find answers for it wasn't in the lectures at all. all exams were alright whatever we were taught, and the weekly HW was the foundation for the exams, find classmates to split the price of the book all you need is the HW sheets nothing else was used aside that.
Her lecture videos might be long but they have all the information we need for quizzes and tests. She makes the lectures interesting and gives plenty of examples for us to be prepared and ready. Great Professor and happy I took ECON 1 and ECON 2 with her as my professor.
Economics can be a challenge, if for this reason alone, I rated her a 4 on difficulty, not a bad thing. She challenges you to do your best, and if you're not on the ball, you will find yourself on the back foot. Her lecture videos and reading are essential to getting a good grade. Take notes, pay attention and you'll do just fine!
My 1st ECON class & most challenging course. She's def a picky&tough grader, the written exams were the toughest, cause you're only allowed an hour to complete & upload your answers. Each question has multiple steps & work needs to be shown or she dock a lot of pts if not done like how she did it in her lectures. KEEPPRACTICING! that is what helped
It is an easy A. For tests the multiple choice is easy and the written questions are exactly like the examples in class. Did not like how she makes you do a research project and submit to a conference. Lectures are easy to follow and she is personable and funny.
I find the exams to be extremely difficult and feel there is not enough time allotted for us to adequately prepare. Additionally, it seems that my professor is not responsive to students' needs or concerns, which contributes to a frustrating learning environment. This lack of support and understanding has made it challenging for many of us to succe
She's decent but not exceptional she tends to ramble about economics topics that cut into class time. Exams are fair but picky on answers and docks points If Beebe's classes are waitlisted, take her as a second choice and consider forming study groups or a Discord for support.
One of my favorite professor. I took her for ECON 1&2. Theres a lot of reading and work but it's manageable. She breaks things down for you in her lectures. She gives feedback on assignments. And is very responsive.
Took as an online 4 week course and was really impressed by how fast this professor was at grading assignments. Very clear structure to the course. each week covered 3 chapters. Keep up with the work (which isn't hard) and you will pass with no problem
Great lecture videos and reading materials! Test and quizzes really reflected your understanding of the class. Everything was straight forward and pretty clear. Must take their class again!
Prof. Rajaram was one of the best! I don't understand the negativity in these reviews; she's extremely straightforward. The tests are literally the homework problems just with different numbers. She literally even reviews the problems that are going to be on the test the class before it. Super easy, it's just basic math; she's also hilarious. 10/10
Her class was so straightforward. Consists of mostly 3 assignments per week that are rather short. The lecture videos are honestly the hardest part as they range in length. Exams are timed but she is not a tough grader. Honestly enjoyed her so I am taking her again for Econ 2!
Great Professor attendance matters if you rely on examples to understand the material. She was fun and engaging her exams were exactly like the study guide that she provides and goes over with (it is optional to attend review days). Would have gotten an A but missed the final exam so overall great class and will be going back to her for Econ 2.
I am sad that I was not able to get her for ECON 2. Professor Rajaram was SO easy and helped me understand economics. Her homework sheets are from a textbook and super easy (she has videos to help with the hw, giving examples), her tests are 5 questions and time-limited, 5 minutes. PLS TAKE HER IF U NEED TO TAKE ECON1 OR 2.
Take this class!!!
I found Professor Rajaram's teaching style difficult to follow. Lectures often lack clear explanations, and important concepts are not broken down in a way that's easy to understand. Homework assignments often come with vague or unclear directions, which makes it challenging to know what's expected or how to complete the work correctly.
A good professor during this one month summer semester I took, lots of of homework and written homework to be done, but if done well and fast, you can finish the class at an early time with a good grade. Read the book given and you will be smooth sailing from there!
Quizzes and exams are very dependent on both the lectures and textbook, so don't be fooled into thinking that only relying on one of them. she is very strict on grading her homework, so ensure that all of your answer are correct. overall, i think that she leads you through it, but in order to get a good grade you have to study a lot.
Professor Rajaram is very intellectual & runs a very structured class. She is very clear in her homework instructions, her video lectures & chapter reading are both essential to academic success. So, don't just do one & not the other. Professor Rajaram also response quickly to all emails & is always available for questions. HW is also graded fast.
If you have no idea which Econ1 professor to go with, choose professor Rajaram. The layout of her course is so easy to follow, it's honestly perfect for your busy schedule. All assignments are due at the end of the week and mid-term week you have until the end of the week to submit, no other assignments attached. I'd recommend her.
Prof. Rajaram is clear, concise, and straight to the point in ECON 2. Homework deadlines are generous, her lectures align closely with exam questions, and she grades quickly, often allowing corrections for a higher score if you submit early. The final exam is smooth. She's understanding as long as you communicate. Highly recommend! Must do the work
