I took 407 in the summer with her and she is great! VERY CLEAR and will go out of her way to meet up with you and help you out. I actually got a D in the class...but I learned alot and would take her again for any other Comm class! GOOD ONE!!

We all know the Comm Law is going to be a tough class. Prof Belmas is there when you need help. You have to show up for all quizzes, one per week. 1st test was easy, 2nd was hard. Just pay attention and study ALL the case studies and you should pass. Gives you some freebies and extra credit.

This class is very difficult with alot of info. to retain but Belmas is very helpful and her quizes are easy. Just study the chapter notes for the day and know the case studies and you should be fine. she likes to give alot of extra credit too so that's a plus!

Excellent teacher! There is alot of memorization but flash cards are really helpful. If you're looking for an easy Comm law class, don't take Belmas. But if you want to learn something, she's a great teacher and she's always available to answer questions. She also held study sessions before the tests which were helpful.

I think she's a good teacher. It's not an easy course because there's a lot of information, but she does try to make it interesting. You can do fine if you study her power point lectures. I only read the book for clarification about the cases. You must come to class and study to do well!!

Comm Law is the hardest class you'll ever take, BUT Belmas is an awesome professor. She makes it entertaining and totally worthwhile. Great sense of humor and enjoyable.

I totally enjoyed this class. I wish all of my college professors were this interested in teaching their subject. Genelle is passionate about comm law and instills a smart curiosity into her students. I keep my flashcards on my desk as a reference tool just in case...you never know when you may need them. Everyone tells all these horror stories about Comm Law, but Genelle makes this class really fun. Yeah there's a lot of material and it can be pretty hard, but there's actually a lot of interesting stuff that you learn. Definitely take her when you take 407!

Has at least 1 quiz in every class session, sometimes 2, so attendance is neccesary. Took the one day a week class, so a 2 day class might be easier.

This class was really interesting. The subject matter was pretty boring but Belmas really keeps your attention. Although there is alot of material, if you come to class and study regularly (cramming for these tests are pointless and does not work), you'll do fine. Going into it I was really scared, but I studied and got a B+.

GREAT PROF. You actually leave understanding the material. Book is not mandatory but he helps fill in gaps missing from the lecture. It's true, she tests directly from the lecture and powerpoing presentations. Class is fun and you rarely ever stay the whole time. She's one of the best profs to teach this class or any class for that matter.

Belmas is the bombizzle...if you want to do better than I C, I recommend studyn your butt off. She makes law interesting and clear, but you do have to study. The final is the hardest, so take advantage of all the extra credit she throws out there. Study hard though...o and it is possible to take this class while taking 425...

BEST PROFESSOR I'VE TAKEN, hands down. First time she teachers online--so awesome. Honestly, sparked a new love for law in me. So understanding, helpful, and an AMAZING teacher. Makes sure she gets through it with you until you understand it. I always felt confident in knowing the material. LOVE HER!

This class is tough,but you actually learn something! She's so passionate about what she teachers, and she makes it so you can understand! She's funny and is up late to respond to emails!!!! If all teachers were like Genelle, I would not mind going to school ever. Her class is tough, but she is ALWAYS willing to help and responds to e-mails very quick. All quizzes are based on the notes. Be sure to understand the cases...they are crucial for the midterm and final.

Took the online class, and it was probably the best online experience ive had. As long as you dont fall behind you are good. Log in every wednesday for a few hours to hear her lecture, and do a few discussion board posts every week. I got an A which I dont think I wouldve gotten if I took the regular class.

Very helpful, approachable, and answers emails super fast. AAQ mini-tests (once a week, drops 3) are very easy, straight from the ppt lectures, exams/TCQs are surprisingly difficult because you have to apply what you learn. Book definitely not necessary. Do moderately well and take advantage of every EC opp and you'll have nothing to worry about.

Dr. Belmas is amazing. I had her in the Spring, and I ended up loving the class and learning SO much. It's not AS difficult as everyone says-but you need to work hard. Book is not needed but know every case study and what it established.

Super rad teacher that gives you plenty of info to study from including podcast lectures to listen to. Tests are all scantron, and no outside assignments except reading. Just quizzes and tests. Super funny, nice, and helpful.

Took summer online 407 and loved her class. Her online lectures make everything easy to understand and interesting. It is a fairly easy class to pass for those who try. You have to post at least 10 comments to discussion board per week and watch her lectures and take notes. She is funny and gives lots of examples.

Belmas was an excellent professor! If you go to her lectures and watch all her powerpoints, they're wonderful and essential for your exams. Her quizzes are easy, the exams are a bit tougher. I took Comm Law as a hybrid class in the Fall. I was intimidated by counselors' warnings about this "tough" class but Belmas made it one of my favorite classes! She is so passionate and charismatic, making her teaching style fun and interesting. Did not use the textbook at all. Utilize her website and online lectures before the aaq's!

If you take COM 407, then you should absolutely take Belmas. She is very nice and helpful. The materials in class are hard, but she makes them easy that you can study and understand. Quiz every week but as long as you read her powerpoint, you are easily get 9/10, or even 10/10. Tests are harder, especially the final one, so spending time to review the materials then you will be fine. She offers lots of extra credits. Best teacher ever!!!
