This class is to be avoided!!! The attendance rate is not even 10% and the prof just decided to not post his slides online because of that. Assignments are long and take way too much time. In class assessment has nothing to do with what he says in class. TO BE AVOIDED

Horrible Prof. He himself dosent know what the assignments should include. The mark you get is based on the TA that you get assigned to. Horrible class, no concrete method to do well.

Nice Prof, easy to do well if you go to class and regurgitate stuff from lecture and textbook. TAs mark fairly and provide good direction in feedback.

Geoff is a very disorganized prof who knows very little about the projects he assigns. The course load is heavy and TAs mark everything. We are several weeks behind because Geoff spends more time reminiscing on his business life than teaching. Haven't even touched textbooks.

Did not need any of the textbooks. Boring lectures. All assignments were group work that could be completed outside of class and rarely needed any of the information given during lectures to complete them. Was a boring and very pointless course. I really did not like his course. Because it was a required course for my program I had to take it.

In my opinion, the professor seemed disorganized but very passionate. Instructions were vague and expectations were not communicated well. These courses are full of assignments! The marking of the assignments was very subjective/arbitrary. Some sort of objectives need to be communicated, so students know what is required of them to do well.

The best part about this class was that you could literally skip every class and still complete all of the assignments with no issues. Although incredibly qualified, Geoff is not a particularly interesting prof and the course material is incredibly dry.

easy class, but this prof is very disorganized,70% of your grade is group work, and the peer evaluation can make or break you , they can affect you grade up to 20% of your mark. dont buy the text book, dont really need to go to class, just make sure you have a good group and apply yourself on assignment and you can pass easy with 80. no exam

This prof is really hard to listen to for 3 hours. It's mostly stories about his life. The group work has almost nothing to do with the lectures and all the important stuff is on LEARN. I attended all classes.. but a lot of people didn't. He's great one-on-one though if you need help.

Geoff Malleck is a great professor. He is very helpful, and is a man of integrity. He is very kind and willing to help the students. Being a student in AccessAbility at Waterloo, as well as having some struggles with teamwork, I can say how much I appreciate his help and understanding. He also has awesome quick wit! :D

Geoff was a really nice guy. He's very approachable and quite easy to listen to. ARBUS 200 however you could get a 75 in and never show up to class. Most of the important material was provided online, and not relatable to what is taught in class. I really enjoyed the in class material, but 3 hour lectures are a little much for this class.

I love him so much! He's one of my favourite profs I've had in university and I've taken 2 classes with him. His teaching style is very different so I get why some people might not like it, but I think it's really refreshing. He makes going to class really fun, and he's great to have conversations with so try to get to know him! Marks depend on TAs

He's a good prof and is very understanding if you need to reschedule your exams. Other than that, he tends to talk a lot in class and attendance is mandatory for iclicker questions (participation marks). His tests can be hard and is based off lectures and the textbook. He's also a hard marker & generally doesn't give out 90s.

He only lectures for the first class and then the rest of the course is essentially an online simulation game (for which he gives no instruction or direction). The fact that our tuition is going to a guy that does nothing but sit through presentations & that the school actually allows for this to pass as a 400-level capstone course is beyond me.

Great guy, but disorganized. He says one thing then does another. His feedback pre-evaluation is loosey goosey, but then very critical post-evaluation which sets inaccurate expectations for what he wants to see in your work. Sometimes his feedback doesn't make sense. Little guidance on simulation. Only 1 group member needs to buy the simulation.

Geoff is a true beauty. He really cares about his students and tries to get everyone excited about course material. He doesn't really cover course material so you'll need to read the textbook for midterms. Class participation is easy so just go to class. The group project is pretty annoying but bearable.

He's very nice and approachable, but his grading criteria has been inconsistent across all the courses I have taken with him. He'll provide rubrics, but your final grade is often a surprise. Everyone walked out of the midterm unsure of how they did. This course was not cumulative of all ARBUS learnings, as it was intended to be.

I wasn't excited to take ARBUS400 but Geoff really made it easy for us to get the help we needed and succeed in this course. I found that he was extremely helpful and very quick to respond to his students if they needed it, and he gave clear feedback after each round/assignment. He's also pretty clear on assignment expectations if you just ask.

He is a caring professor who provided us with a simulation to complete with a team throughout the semester. He cancels classes a lot (which can be nice, but also irritating since we paid for them). One important thing to note is that he does not give above a 90!!! He said he does not "believe in perfect or near perfect grades"... keep in mind.
