He was my Phys Lab instructor and i thought he was pretty easy and very helpful. He is very willing to help you and explain things till you understand them. Very approachable and down to earth. Would definitly take another class with him!
Lectures were kept simple, memorize lectures and you'll do fine on the tests. He called the book a "reference" and we were not required to read or know information outside his notes. Very down to Earth guy who knows his Biology.
while cell bio has never been my forte, taking it with goellner was VERY enjoyable. very nice and helpful. its a boring class in the beginning, but if stay to the end, the material gets pretty interesting! DONT BUY THE BOOK!!! Used it to study for the first test and got a B. . . studied just the powerpoint notes and got an A for the course.
He's teaching class for 1st time & is still feeling his way in. Sofar exams are very rough, study notes hard & attend lecutures. He doesn't offer any Q&A before exam, so if you have questions see him before or after class. His mantra is to study all the time. He posts his notes online which is helpful. Didn't care that half of class failed 1st exam
Very boring during lecture. No organization with his notes. No reveiws for exams. Does not care who if majority of the class fails. Once you get behind there is no way to catch up. Seems to be very knowledgable but still does not present he information in an understandable manner.
He doesn't care if you do good in his class or how his students fare in his class. His notes are nt as explanatory as a physio class shuld be, although his questions come from them bt you cant gain understandin 4m them. He reads off the slides in his lectur, should try to break it down for students to understand process. His exam ques are tricky!
Dr. G is still unsure of how to memorably teach a class. His lectures are boring and he doesn't offer ANY help reviewing for exams. Most questions have 5 multiple choice answers, one being 2 of the above choices. He makes them very tricky and is more concerned about proving how smart he is when he's already proven that he is!
He makes 50 minutes seem like 5 hours. Even if cell bio is your favorite thing to learn about it is hard not to space out because he is very monotoned. He puts powerpoints on D2L which is good because he goes through them so fast that otherwise you would be screwed. He is a nice guy but definitely has favorite students. To do well, study a lot!
I thought I understood things in class until I got to the tests. His questions are really wordy and make me lose interest not to mention you have 5 answers to choose including ones stating A and B or B and C. It's really difficult and confusing when there is only a one word difference between the right and wrong answers.
WORST TEACHER EVER!!!!!!!!! The class averages for our first two tests have been in the low/mid 60's and he doesn't even care!!!! His tests are ridiculous- every question tries to trick you. DOES HE NOT GET IT?!? do not take this class unless absolutely necessary, and even then take it at south central!!!!
I think that Goellner is a really nice guy and he explains his lectures really well. Physiology is a REALLY hard subject, you have to be willing to devote ALL your time to it. and the tests are worded in a difficult format. His lab tests were really hard as well-maybe try taking lab with a TA. Go in and ask q's. and study the lectures not the book.

Really good professor...explains really well and his tests are right off the lecture notes....dont bother buying the book...one time i had to check something and i found a better explanation on Wiki. His Tests are 50 mins of Writing...which is typical for a 300 level class but be prepared to write fast...if you know the lectures u should be fine.
STUDY LIKE MAD! HE HAS FAVORITES! HE EXPLAINS THINGS WELL AT HIS OFFICE! ASK HIM MANY QUESTIONS AND U WILL GET IT!!! DONT BUY THE BOOK! OH AND ONCE AGAIN STUDY ALL THE TIME!!!! (ONLY STUDY HIS SLIDES)
This class is extremely tough. His slides are put together horribly and are difficult to understand when studying. I would recommend taking really good notes and recording his lectures. I got A's in all pre-nursing science courses (which are not that hard so nursing students-get off your high horse) and I am pushing for a B in this class.
The information is difficult, but not impossible to comprehend. He is pretty clear during lecture, I never felt like I had a problem with the material, but there is A LOT of it. If a few hours a week are spent looking over the material (just look at his powerpoints), there should be no problem passing this course.
Dr. Goellner is great. People like to complain about him because they do bad in the class, but the information is just difficult. I've taken physiology, cell bio, and neurobio with him and never had any problems. Study the notes and stick to them. Put in the effort and you will do fine.
This class is extremely difficult no matter who you take it with. However, Dr. Goellner, IMO, makes it much more difficult than it needs to be. Yes, I had to take this course twice so I can compare Goellner with Knoblich. Goellners slides were useless. The sentences on them did not make any sense. It's very difficult to study and very frustrating.
The class was incredibly difficult and condensed (took it in the summer). I studied every single day and was pushing for a B in the class. His tests are very tricky. 5 multiple choice answers, one is almost always two of the answers. He wasn't very helpful when I told him I was struggling with the class. Explained material better outside of class.
Dr. G... Is a phenomenal teacher. Take him whenever possible.
His tests are extremely hard, you need to study everyday if you want to pass. The first test I studied for 4 days before the test and failed, second one I studied almost everyday and got a B. The tests have answers that say A and B or B and C which makes it super hard. Study lecture notes not the book. Really hard material.
Tests are extremely difficult. His notes are tough to read and his lectures are confusing. Ask him for help. The exams are very hard to study for because he is not very clear what to study.
As everyone has said, the tests are designed to make guessing nearly impossible, which makes them hard, but it just forces you to really learn the material front-and-back. Don't worry about the book, just study the lecture slides very closely, and when in doubt, choose E.
Dr. G was a great teacher! He did his best to keep the students attention in class. The tests are difficult, but if you understand the material on his PowerPoints, you will do just fine. The book is not needed with his class. I would recommend him for physiology!
He BRAGS about the large percentage of students who fail his class, and the fact that very few will even pass. I have received A's and B's in all classes so far except his.
There's a lot of material in this class, and it's a challenge to know what will be on the test. Pay attention to the first unit especially, since it is the basis for a lot of later stuff. This class requires a lot of memorization. He says all the material is on the slides, but that's a little misleading. Questions are worded weirdly.
If you need to take human phys, go with Dr. Goellner! Doing well in his class is simple: just KNOW THE SLIDES. Exams are based solely upon the lecture material; if you show up to class and review the notes, you'll be just fine. Great professor who cares about the students and makes the material fun.
No matter who you take it with Phys will be a tough class, but Dr. G made it a little easier! He was an entertaining professor who really wanted you to learn the material. All the information was taken from his slides so know those well and you will pass. It is important to understand the processes and not just memorize the information. RECOMMEND
Although he is a nice guy, he is one of the worst profs I've had. I had to edit his completely unorganized, run-on sentence powerpoints to study from, I had to teach myself the material cuz of unhelpful lectures, & get ready for option a&B for almost every single test question as he majorly tries to confuse people. Take with different prof!
Obviously phys isn't gonna be a cakewalk. taking it with dr. goellner is good and bad. he is quite thorough in explanations, you have to go to lecture to get the info unless you buy the book. No matter how hard you study, his tests just kick you down. So many trick questions and E) B&C type questions. If anything don't take him as lab instructor
Got through a ton of material. Tests infamous for being difficult. Multiple choice A through E, E is usually both A and C or both B and D, which makes you second guess. Lab is easy and quick, but lab exams are just as hard as lecture.
He really challenged us with his exams, as the questions always had the options of A, B, C, D being "A and B" and E being all the above or none of the above. This really second guessed a lot of students as it is a lot of material to learn. Definitely go in and get the help if needed, he's understanding and wants you to do well.
When taking Bio330 at MNSU take it with Rachel Cohen. Goellner is a very nice guy however when I retook the course with Cohen I actually felt like I was being taught the material and not just being read the content off of a powerpoint. Goellner doesn't explain the content very well and says if you know his slides you'll do fine but this is untrue.
Goellner is a nice guy who clearly knows what he's talking about. However, it's almost as if he doesn't want his students to succeed. He doesn't provide study guides, which in my opinion is unacceptable in a class that covers as much as Physiology. Additionally, he writes test questions that try to trick you. Take it with someone else if possible.
Attendance is mandatory so you understand the material, lab grades are based part on participation and mostly on exams. Few assignments here and there, but final grade heavily determined by lecture exams. You need to know your stuff, his multiple choice tests are tricky. He is a good guy and tries to help out in whatever ways he can, but it's hard.
Goellner is a decent guy. Go to lecture and take good notes. Labs are mandatory and there are quizzes in lab as well. Grade is based pretty much off lecture exams which are extremely difficult. Be ready for choice E to be "both A & B" or "all/none of the above." Really makes you second guess yourself. Go to office hours and get help if needed.
Here's the thing: Goellner is actually a good professor. He knows his stuff, he does want you to learn it, and he's always willing to help. But nobody is kidding here when we says his exams are hard. Talking to him he seems to have a disconnect with he "thinks" is hard. Read his notes very thoroughly and understand the why and how ALWAYS.
Don't buy the textbook. Lecture exams are based off his slides, so study those. Tests are tough with answers like "All of the Above" and "Both A and B", but maybe it just means more time needs to be spent studying. Physiology is a tough course in general. Your grade in Phys depends on how much time you spend studying outside lecture.
He gives multiple choice, however he gives options like A & C, B & C. Like he makes it tremendously hard. Also he teaches concepts and askes it in a completely different format.
Tests are really hard and PINPOINT EXACT. So if you don't know ALL the details about EVERYTHING, you know nothing. I'm not sure if anyone has ever gotten an A on his exams. I study for SEVERAL hours and still get C's averagely. I've never gotten lower than an A or B in any class before except this one. Lab and lecture feel like 2 separate classes.
Don't bother buying the textbook. Spend your time memorizing his slides and knowing how everything works because his tests are very specific and are application based sometimes. No study guides, and the average test scores are between 65-70% most of the time. A lot of questions have "none" or "all of the above" or "a and b" so know the material.
Worst class I have ever taken in my life. I have always been an A and B student and I have never struggled in a class more. 700/765 points for the class are exams. There is no support or direction on how to succeed, all he does is post lectures and throws the exam at you, DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS
DO NOT TAKE IT WITH HIM. He makes this class near impossible to do well. I am a straight A student and have never struggled so hard in a course. You have to know every little detail about every possible concept in order to do decent on the exams. He is not the worst guy, but offers little to no help outside of class. Lab exams also are crazy hard.
Hardest class I have ever taken. This is my first B ever from high school to college. His tests are based on the smallest details from lecture, not large concepts. In fact, there are concepts that are not in the notes on the exam. His lectures are very sporadic and do not make sense, which makes it hard to learn. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!!!
This is the hardest class I've taken here. His tests are extremely difficult and you basically need to know everything from lab and lecture word for word. He is a nice and caring person, but his class is so hard. The class is based solely on tests and nothing else. Memorize everything and utilize his office hours
Make sure your friends and family are at peak health. If something happens where you can't attend lab, good luck he'll think your lying and have to suffer the consequences. His exams are tough even if you study and go to lecture.
This class is hard. If you study the lectures and review notes everyday you will be fine. The exams are hard but if you know the lectures well enough you will be able to work through the questions. The professor is very knowledgeable and approachable if you have any questions.
Professor Goellner should not be a professor in my opinion. His course is beyond difficult for no reason. His exams are nothing like his lectures and his exam questions are all trick questions. The answers are written as all of the above, non of the above, a and b, etc. If you can take it with someone else, please do! Save yourself the headache.
I feel like Goellner does not want us to succeed. He tries to confuse students on the exams by giving multiple questions that include the options "A and B" which makes you really second guess if you know the content or not. Each test covers a large amount of content and unless you know every little detail, you will not succeed on hid exams.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH GOELLNER. He is a really nice guy but he cannot teach. All of the grading is based on tests and lab exams. Even if you attend lecture and take notes, it doesn't help. His tests ask for tiny details that he doesn't talk about in lecture. He also tries to confuse you on tests by using "both A and C" or "both B and C".
I knew walking into this class that it would be difficult. Taking his tests are terrible. I have never done so bad in my life, until I took this class with Pro. Goellner. You study for hours and when you take the tests the questions are not even close to the material on the slides. Even knowing the slides does not help. Don't take it with him.
The material in this class is hard but Goellner is an engaging lecturer and is good at clearly explaining difficult concepts. His tests are quite difficult and you will need to study the slides he provides, as the test questions come directly from those. For me, this class requires considerable effort to do good in but Goellner is a huge help.
I knew it was going to be a tough class going into it, but professor Goellner tries to make things engaging. Will have to start study earlier than you normally might, test questions come right from slide shows.
Helpful tips that saved me: Don't try to memorize his slides, that earned me a 63-68% on the first two exams. Instead, I recorded his lectures on the voice memo app on my phone and re-listened to all of them a week or two before the exam. Typed my notes right on the PP. Don't waste ur time on the book or going to mavpass. Understand the material!
Although I ended up ending with a B-, don't let that trick you. Goellner simply does not care about the success of his students. Saying "I don't think it is unreasonable for students to memorize every small detail on my slides because college is hard". Exams are extremely difficult and no matter how hard you study you probably will average C exams
He expects you to become an expert on the material quickly and know just as much as he does. His lectures make absolutely no sense because he can't stay on track with what he's talking about. He tells you to study his lectures but there are so many to keep track of that it's honestly too much material. Also, he was never in his office/available.
Going in to the course, I knew it was going to be a tough class. Professor Goellner does his best to engage the class & provide all of the material necessary for tests. To succeed in this class you have to put in the work, and spend time outside of class learning the material. Professor Goellner was a very good professor.
This is a very difficult class no matter who's teaching it, but Dr. Goellner gives you the tools you need to succeed. He knows his stuff and puts together very informative slideshows. The exams are fairly difficult, but they relate well to the slides so study them as much as possible. Also, save yourself some money and don't buy the textbook.
let me make this clear: DO NOT TAKE PHYS WITH GOELLNER. PowerPoints are extremely content dense and do not make sense. He expects you to memorize very small details. I had to withdraw from this class so I wouldn't fail. I am retaking it now with Knoblich and she only lectures on the content you need to know & explains the concepts extremely well.
He is a terrible professor. Did not understand his slides or lectures, spent all my freetime trying to understand the materials and you never knew what to study for besides trying to memorize every small details from the slide. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY TAKING THIS CLASS!!
Whatever you do, do not take this class. Go through another school because he admits to tricking students on the exams. I studied 24/7 and still could not get a good grade.
What ever you do, don't take this class with Dr. Goellner. He is not supportive of his students and could care less that you pass. He says all the information you need is on the slides but when it comes to the test it has information that was not on the slides. All I did was study for this class and I had to withdraw because I was failing.
He is not helpful if you are doing badly in the course. None of the tests had a passing average and he would not curve it. Going to tutoring was beneficial, but did not help with how to answer his test questions. He words them tricky such as (A and B are correct, and A and C are correct). Dont take the class with him unless you're a good test taker
I knew going into this class it would be hard, but Goellner made it 10x harder. The exams were very difficult, and he doesn't give any guidance other than to study his lectures, but the exams are nothing like the slides. His exams are written in a way that tries to confuse and trick you. If you have to take this class, take it online somewhere else
This is a very tough class. I got an A but I think there could be better professors. Grades in this class consist of quizzes and exams so you have to score well from the start. I suggest starting to study 1-2 weeks in advance and make sure you really know the material. Most questions are application, straight from the slides, and even small details
Dr G isn't a bad professor, but the class is very hard. He gives you a lot of chances to catch up on assignments such as reopening lecture quizzes after deadline and extending the career paper. He also curves at the end of the semester. I just don't like the exams; there are way too many questions where the E option is "Both A and C" for example.
He cares about the students. At the end of the semester, he curves the final grade, and he gives lots of opportunities to finish assignments. Just visit his office hours and he will try his best to help out. The tests were difficult, but this is a difficult class so that is to be expected.
I liked Goellner as professor seeing as he made lectures interesting and did his best to be helpful. The class itself is very difficult and you have to put in work to do well. He ended up adding 4% to our final grade at the end of the semester which was nice but I recommended not relying on him giving a curve. He also answered emails quickly!
This class is very notes/lecture oriented. The professor does not help students try to find a learning method that works for them. He says all the information for exams are on his slides but his slides have bad grammar and are hard to follow outside of lecture. If you are a hands on/visual learner, good luck.
He's is not a bad professor. He's nice, and if you reach out to him he'll help. With that being said, this class was very difficult. Very exam heavy, no EC, although he did end up curving at the end but don't rely on him doing that. States its all in the slides which are confusing and hard to understand. Go to Mavpass, ask them questions. Get help.
This class is inherently a difficult class to take, and is very information heavy. Apart from this however professor Goellner is very heavy on lectures and on tests. A very large chunk of your grade is based on only 5 exams. He is friendly and helpful if you go to his office hours. The textbook is never used in class or for any assignments.
If you're not a good test taker do not take his class. He only gives tests and quizzes for points and provides no extra guidance other than confusing powerpoints. I withdrew and took this class at Minneapolis Community and Tech and so far this class was is much easier, and the professor actually wants you to succeed.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH DR.G! Especially in the summer. His powerpoints SUCK, and when asked to clarify or add details to them, he says, "I spent a lot of time on those; they're very good." They're not at ALL. Your grade is based on few assignments; almost all points come from exams. 90% of the class is failing and 5/18 students have withdrawn.
I recommend taking this course at a different school online. He is a very caring professor but when you struggle, he just tells you to look at his slides. Which is fine if they were actually helpful. He bases your grade over tests and quizzes. Which is fine but the content of the slides doesn't match the test whatsoever. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
This is the worst professor I have had all 3 years here, he reads off slides, and your grade is determined by 4 or 5 tests. The class average right now is 63% and he does not care at all to help change that. He claims his slides are all the information you need to know, but that is a lie. He puts information on the tests that is so obscure.
This was the hardest class I have ever taken, and I loved anatomy. Grade ONLY relies on tests and if you fail one your screwed. His lectures make no sense, and he doesn't provide anything else but his notes to study for exam. Exams are nothing like lectures. Lab is the only thing helping me pass right now. Every person talked to is struggling.
I recommend finding a course at a different college that will transfer over. Genuinely the worst professor ever. He says come to his office hours, but either he isn't there or tells you to look at lecture slides like every other student. There is no homework, study guide, or reviews in this class. The school is aware and has done nothing about it.
If you like when proffessors go fast through slides, and have weirdly worded test questions that are nothing like what you learned in lecture then this is the guy for you! He is a super smart guy don't get me wrong, but I don't think he understands how hard this content can be. Kate Ford was a great lab instructor though!! Lady was awesome.
I would highly suggest taking this class at another university and transferring the credits over. The content on exams does not match the information in this slides, yet he swears by his slides. Our class average has not exceeded 65% all semester and Goellner nor the University are willing to do anything to change the structure of this course.
DO NOT TAKE PHYSIOLOGY WITH DR GOELLNER! His exams are impossible to take because it has nothing from his PowerPoints, which he said they are based on. He doesn't give out homework, which does not help us at all to understand the content of the course. No extra credit either. I would recommend taking the class at another school.
This is an inherently difficult course, but Goellner makes it more difficult than it needs to be. His exams get into specifics of a big pool of info, making it hard to study (also no study guide) (60% avg). You need a good memory to do well on his tests. Be ready to spend a lot of time studying/understanding. If you aren't confident look into SCC.
Spent all my time devoted to this class yet that didn't make a difference. Your grade will not reflect that. No study guides, no extra credit, no guidance or help whatsoever. Exams are not like the lecture material which he says the whole exam is based off of. Does question's like both A and D or C and B, to trick you. Take physiology elsewhere.
This class is the hardest class I have ever taken. You study for hours and hours, yet it doesn't seem to help. His exams are worded in the worst way and will make you feel like you understand nothing. He also does questions with answers such as “both b and C or both A and B” which feel like they are meant to trick you.
When you ask for help (if he's ever in his office) he tells you to read the slides which also don't help be they are equally confusing. You grade is also based 90% on these exams, no homework nothing, besides a few labs worth 5 points. Many people from the class has withdrawn because they were going to fail, and it was not from lack of effort.
The only things you are graded on in this class are exams, a PAPER, lecture quizzes, and labs, which are only 5 points each. This class is ridiculously hard, and Goellner makes it 10x harder than it should be. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH DR G
the smallest man who ever lived
If you can take this class somewhere else do it, if not buckle in and be ready to cry
I put blood, sweat, and tears into this class, yet I still can't seem to pass Goellner's super hard exams
I am normally an A student, but this class was so hard. If you have an option to take it somewhere else, do it. He does not care about his students, and I studied many hours for the exams and could not pass. He does trick questions to purposely confuse you. Don't take this class.
I normally get good grades and have a lot of energy but I've never been so close to burnout because of this professor . If you can take this class elsewhere do it
This professor once wrote an email after the first exam praising the students who did well on the exam, and the rest of it was throwing a lot of the class who didn't do so well under the bus! Horrible professor, absolutely would not recommend
100% DO NOT recommend taking this class with Dr. G. Tests are extremely hard for no reason; I would study for hours upon hours and still failed the exams. The only thing in the gradebook is lectures exams, lectures quizzes, lab exams, and lab attendance, so if you don't do well on the exams, you won't pass the class.
this class is a battle, and if you don't to fight take it somewhere else
Goellner is a good person, but lacks the skills needed to be a quality professor. Going to office hours to ask questions would usually end with him saying "he interpreted it that way", even if it was wrong or made no sense. Attend all lectures, many exam questions are on little details he discusses in person that are not found in lecture slides.
exam heavy, unreliable, exams are trying to trip you up. Knows the class is inherently difficult, however has no sympathy if you do not retain the information like he is able to. Smart man awful teacher, clear to me that he doesn't care about his students. The smallest man who ever lived.
The only answer goellner will give to any question is "everything is in the slides". Goellners slides are awful. Their are so many and all jam packed with information. He doesn't give a curve till the end of semester and gives grades based on ONLY 5 exams, a paper, and lab exams/attendance. Safe to say this class will drain your time and energy.
I am normally an A and B student but I was struggling this semester to pass with a C. You get no study guides or homework in the class and when I asked him how to study for exams he said "look at the slides" which are extremely hard to interpret. The exams are not straight forward and he tries to trick you. would 100% recommend taking it elsewhere
Goellner is pretty much exactly what you hear about him. He's a really smart guy but just doesn't seem to care about students or their learning. Physiology is hard, like many upper-level biology courses; you have to study and teach yourself. It's true that his slides don't make sense. Don't skip material; look it up if you don't understand.
I'm tired of this
Worst teacher I've ever had. This course absolutely destroyed my mental health. Your grade will not reflect how much work and dedication you put into it. Doesn't give any assignments so grades are only off of impossible exams. There's material on the exams that I had never even heard of. He doesn't care about students success what so ever.
This is the worst class I have taken in my life. The exams are impossible, and he will not help you when you ask. Your grade is based off of 5 lecture exams and 4 lab exams. Take this class anywhere else so you don't have to go through the hell I did. I have only gotten A's my entire life, and had to study more than I ever have to barely get a B.
YOU ALL NEED TO TRUST ME!!! DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HIM! Take it anywhere else, like south central. I have heard so many people getting easy A's there and we are struggling so hard in this class all because of the professor. His slides are hard to follow and tests are more in depth than the slides. He has trick questions. Lots A&C, all of above
I have never gotten below an A in any of my classes, however this class was impossible. The tests are very difficult no matter how much you study. The questions are designed to trick students and he refuses to give a study guide. No curve or extra credit also makes it impossible to achieve an A. Awful class and professor
Goellner isn't interested in helping you succeed. He sits with his door closed during office hours & sometimes doesn't show up, but if you can meet with him he tells you to just read his slides & offers no other help. He makes this class much more difficult than it needs to be with poor teaching & difficult exams. I would avoid him if you can.
I wish I could use profanity. That is all.
Honestly, this class was hard. I dedicated my whole weekends before the exams on Mondays for this class. Although, it is an upper-level biology class. I personally liked this professor, and he wants you to actually learn the material. My advice, actually study. I know a lot of people who complained about their grades and bragged about not studying.
The professor was not helpful, we did not have enough practice quizzes/tests that could have helped us prepare for exams. Exams are set to confuse students and I believe he is determined to see students fail To cut this short do not take this professor, there are multiple schools that offer the same class where you can do your best and see results.
Do not take this class with him, he purposely tries to trick you into failing the exams. He says if you fail an exam he has the right to fail you after the course is over if he wants to. You can understand every concept and still do poorly on the test. He does not care and if you ask for help he tells you to try harder
He's a nice guy but his exams are impossible. Wish the lab instructor taught the class.
Dr. Goellner is a great professor who obviously cares about student success! Physiology is an information dense class, but his lectures and teaching style allow you to connect processes and understand the concepts instead of just memorizing. Not sure why he gets bad ratings, all upper level bio classes require studying like this, most of them more!
If you are going to take this professor, good luck. I am usually an A/B student and in this class it was almost impossible to achieve that grade. Exams are extremely difficult and you get no guidance on what to study. He tests you on the littlest details and not big picture topics. His class is not set up for you to succeed.
You know that scene in mean girls where Regina is writing in the burn book…yeah
He kind of mumbles during his teachings so it's hard to follow along. His exams are usually everywhere and quoting his exams are so nerve wrecking. You'd probably need to use accessible resources if you're someone that can't focus during exams, he picks on you when he sees you looking around, in my head, I was just blaming my ADD and almost cried.
Tests were not bad it was all stuff from class so if you study it helps. He is straight to the point and many feel that is mean but he is not a bad dude, it is a high level course so studying is a no brainer to do good
No extra credit. Very tough to understand his lectures. Literally he is worst prof I have ever seen in my life. Please do not take his classes.
He's a nice and approachable guy. This was a tough course, and the exams are challenging if you're not prepared. He doesn't give study guides, so rely on his PowerPoints. Don't skip class and study with friends because it makes it easier. It's upper level, so expect it to be hard but if you put in the work, success is possible. He curves at the end
He is a good guy. He is willing to answer every questions you have in his office hours. And yes, the test is 100% based on his powerpoint, but he require you not only remember it, but also to actually understand and use that knowledge. Most of the test questions are in application type, so u will have to use ur brain to think a lots.
Seems like a nice guy but his lecture slides are all jargon that makes no sense and he lectures like he's talking to other professors not students. Doesn't break down info at all to make it easy to understand. Tests are also meant to be tricky (multiple choice but lots of "A and B" "only C" "none of the above" etc.)
Avoid taking this course with him at all costs. I don't know anyone who passed it on the first try. DO NOT turture yourself. The tests are super hard and are all applying the info but he doesn't teach you how to apply it
He's a super sweet guy but his lectures are very hard to follow and the slides are hard to make sense of and are all over the place. Ask chat gpt to explain the slides to you and make quizlets of all the information and go through them everyday, that's how I got the score I did. Just memorize everything you can on the lecture slides.
