his lectures make even politics interesting, he's extremely sarcastic and funny, makes learning about politics entertaining. only 3 exams the entier semester, and they're extremely fair. if you study, you'll do really well.

He is a really interesting man to listen to. At 9, I can actually pay attention. He is funny and synical in his humor. I love this class. He makes politics fun. I kind of want to change my major because of him.

I did not want to take this class but now am glad that I did. This guy is funny and a little sarcasm never hurts. He is still pretty demanding but even that's not so bad. Politics. I like it now. I'm even thinking about taking another course in this department.That is a miracle right there.

Peterson is a cool guy. Yeah he can be sarcastic and rude if you ask him a really stupid question he answered in class, on the syllabus or if it's common sense. I liked Peterson and I look forward to taking more classes from him. 290 is hard but it's hard no matter what prof you take.

He is a funny guy but his tests are SOOO hard. I studied so much and could re-write my notes and the book word for word and i did bad on the tests. Not good!

Peterson is hilarious. He does a great job of keeping your interest. His classes are fun, but not extremely easy.

Geoff is a good prof and an even better guy. His classes are thought-provoking as well as entertaining. He is also a blast down at the Joynt kicking back a few. :) He is very biased to the left, but that doesn't affect his grading if you don't agree with his POV.

REALLY entertaining and funny guy. This is the only class I don't get sleepy in. He really knows his stuff, and if you go to lecture and read the book you will do fine on tests. His D2L quizzes are open book, so they are no biggy. I'm not into poli sci at all, but he makes it interesting for me.

Professor Peterson is a great teacher. He has taught me so much is one semester. I like the jokes me makes too. Ban spandex!

Good lecturer. Tests seem like they are in a diff. language than what he teaches. Write down everything he says and read the book and you'll do fine.

For a lecture class, he engages the class really well - Got to respect him for that. Attend these classes, you're really missing out on a great lecture course if you don't.

Awesome teacher! Knows a lot about the field and has a great way of teaching it. His tests aren't hard, but studying is necessary. If you want or need to take a pols class I would take it with him otherwise you would be missing out on a really great teacher. He also likes to joke a lot, which makes the class much more interesting!

he's a GREAT prof! class is so much fun. anyone that says this is an impossible class is lying. all you have to do is read the chapters and pay attention in class and you can manage ATLEAST a B in the class. no homework. quiz after every chapter and 3 exams, thats it! he is so so funny, he makes jokes every class and is a really approchable.

one of my favorite profs ever, funny and class goes by pretty fast. he's very smart and but not too hard a grader. film class is fun--no test, interesting movies~ other classes--just know the notes and you'll be fine. if you're taking just a general course (110) know he's one of the best!

he has powerpoint notes during lectures but you MUST write down lots of the stuff he says, that is not written down, because most of the test questions come from that. he makes the lecture material interesting most of the time. don't ask him any stupid questions or he will make fun of you in his other classes.

Great Teacher! Put a entertaining spin on Politics. If you want to understand and learn American Politics take his class. Exams are easy except for the essays, he seems to grade those hard.

Pretty easy class. Tests are mainly on powerpoint, some from text. paper is optional and alternative assignment is so easy. he is a lot of fun, great teacher.

He's one of my favorite professors I've had so far. He is funny, his lectures are interesting, and he is full of information that he explains well. If you have to take POLS 110, he is a great choice. However, you will need to study, it's not just a blow off class.

This guy is the best POLS prof you could ever have. Dr. Peterson will fill your brain with more information and make you every so knowledgeable on the material covered in this class. If you need to tale a POLS class or want to take an extremely fun class, this is the class to take with him.

Definately makes class interesting. Has a great sense of humor that compliments his teaching style. If you show up for class, you will do fine. Tests are a bit complicated, but not impossible. Lots of independent textbook reading with D2L quizes, but these are overall easy points.

Professor Peterson is a great professor, he really knows his stuff. I wasn't really interested in politics and I really didn't know anything about politics, but he really kept me engaged in his lectures. I plan on voting this year because of him. He is really funny, so lectures are actually interesting!

Great teacher, KNOWS his stuff. Can get by just going to lectures, reading the text helps. If you have the chance, TAKE THIS COURSE. If you hate politics and history, bare minimum he will keep you entertained. If you have any interest in the way our govt is run, or like history, you'll flip bananas for this course.

Best professor on campus! Expects a lot, but you come out of the class learning a lot. Papers and tests are hard, plus he's a tough grader, but I highly reccomend taking him!

Such a great help in this class! Pols majors-take him for 290 if at all possible! The assignments get to be a little much at times, but you know exactly what he is looking for and if you follow his timeline in the class, your paper will turn out just fine.

Peterson has an enclopedic knowledge of american political elections. He is a great professor and doesnt look down on students. And he bought our class treats... awesome!!

He is an alright professor, and it should be a pretty easy class, but the tests are worded completely differently than lectures. Read the book, or you will fail those tests. There's a lot of material. Overall an okay class, decent teacher, but a lot of studying for tests and quizzes.

Peterson is a good lecture hall teacher. SPeaks loudly and clearly and makes enough jokes to keep the majority of people involved. Maybe its because I'm a PoliSci major, but I found his class to be quite easy. Makes it quite clear what you need to know, you just have to have basic political knowledge and you should do just fine.

Dr. Peterson is funny. The class is really interesting, especially if taken during an election period. Clickers are used. The data taken from students opinions is interesting. He is a pollster so he has a great depth of knowledge in relation to the polling of elections. BEST ADVICE: MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT FORGET TO DO THE AMERICAN GOVT ASSIGNMENTS!

Professor Peterson is HILARIOUS. I changed my major to Poli Sci after taking this course. Keep up on your textbook readings, study for the exams, and you'll do fine. Great professor! Made the material interesting and enjoyable.

Best poli sci professor I have had in my time at UWEC. Peterson is SO willing to help students when they take the time to seek him out. He also is very engaging. Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you miss class you miss out on a lot - especially at the end of the semester when you start working with SPSS.

Peterson is simply a superb Professor. He's clear, fair and funny. I felt like every minute in class I was learning and entertained. Worth waking up for, his POLS 110 is a great foundation for anyone with any interest in US politics even if you're not a pols major.

I thought this class would be dry, but it was very clear, I learned a lot, and the time went by super quickly. I would definitely take Peterson if you can - he is hilarious! Peterson can be funny, but this class was a TON of work for a 100 level class...rediculous..paid attention and took great notes and pulled a B..WITH reading the book..way too many essay options is right..overall I thought I learned alot which was good but I felt my grade didnt reflect my understanding of material and work put in which is sad

I love this professor and this class! Read the book and go to the review sessions and you should be fine. The class is actually interesting and the tests are not bad if you GO TO THE REVIEW SESSIONS and glance over your lecture notes. Lectures are crucial. I read the book but I do not think you would have to inorder to do well. Highly recommend him

Peterson is a great teacher. Class is alway a lecture but they are somehow interesting. I enjoyed this class even though politics are boring to me. 3 exams throughout the semester, non cumulative. They can be tough, but if you attend class and take notes/scan over book, you'll be fine. Take him if you can. Very interesting/knowledgeable.

He was really interesting and made the his lectures fun to listen to. The tests aren't hard if you read the text book and take good notes in lecture. I highly recommend Dr. Peterson.

hes funny but really needs to lose some weight or he wont make it to 50. also, he loves films and tv so he is easy to relate to. his class wasn't, tests were all ID and essay, with a HUGE research paper based on stats...thats about the only downside. i would recommend him to others

Taking this class was one of my best decisions. I also had Peterson for POLS 110. If you have the chance to have him as your professor DO IT! You will learn alot and enjoy the class. His tests are resonable, go to the review sessions and you will do just fine.

Dr. Peterson made Political Science interesting! The class was not too hard if you did all of the work, read all the chapters, and studied for the tests. Definitely recommend him for anyone needing to take this class!

Dr. P is hilarious and a great professor. He is extremely good at what he does and doesnt shove it in your face like a lot of profs. Tests are really hard though. be ready to read and study A LOT!!! I would recommend him though great and hilarious guy. Also looks like peter griffin

Dr. Peterson was a good teacher. However if you are someone that is going to be gone. Do not take him. I was out for surgery and I don't feel that I was adequately given what I needed when I returned. Study before you go to class and make sure you read the book. This teacher is a lot of work!!!!

I really enjoyed him as a teacher. He is funny at times, but sometimes makes really interesting jokes. He openly makes fun of himself, which is a plus. Read the text book, it will really help. Sit in the front, honestly you will get more out of the class. Go to class he uses a clicker to have you answer questions. He may make fun of you! beware!

He reminds me of Peter Griffin from family guy. It's kind of scary how similar they are. Except Professor Peterson is super smart and not always getting into ridiculous shenanigans. Take his class, it's tough and you have to read a lot, but he's a funny guy. Definitely makes class worth going to. He makes me giggle.

He's a great professor, but egotistical and doesn't respond to his emails in a timely fashion. If you have questions, ask the TAs and not him. It's a hard class if you're not interested in the material, but he's entertaining so classes aren't boring.

Great prof!! I was really worried about this class because I was told it was super hard. But if you keep up with the assignments and quizzes, and take good notes on both his lectures and the textbook it's not awful! Tests cover a lot of material so be prepared to do a lot of studying! If the SI sessions are available, TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEM!

This class is tough, but manageable. The final paper is a long, stressful event, but if you put the effort in, you should pass. Read the assigned readings closely. Dr. Peterson is not great at answering his e-mail and is very busy, so it may take a while to get feedback. Otherwise, he's funny and a good professor.

Peterson is a fantastic professor. He tries to act like he doesnt care about students, but the truth is he does. If you ever go into his office, and need help, he will help you. He knows the material better than any prof. I have ever had.

This class turned out to be pretty manageable. Peterson is a very interesting guy, you will definitely learn things from him. The final paper was stressful, but if you put in the effort, your grade will reflect that.

TONS of reading and online quizzes to keep up with, only three exams and no papers. Peterson has vast knowledge and can be funny but I found him mostly arrogant and annoying. Communication outside of class is poor (email replies? Forget it). Class can be passed with a lot of work.

Dr. P is really into what he teaches and you have to go to the lectures to pass the class, but he makes them interesting. Two online assignments and two online quizzes a week. He doesn't offer any extra credit so don't fall behind.

Best POLS class i've taken and Dr. Peterson is a great professor. Class involves watching a bunch on political movies and doing a short reflection on 4 of them. One final exam and a loner paper about a movie of your choice.

Great guy, very funny. The online quizzes can be little difficult, and the tests are pretty hard. The book is there if you have questions, but you can get by with just his lectures. He doesn't care if you show up to class, but if half the class is gone he will cover as much as possible for the tests. This happened once in the fall semester.

Dr. Peterson is the best PoliSci professor I've had at UWEC so far. He is very knowledgeable in the fields he teaches in and is a ton of fun to listen to when he lectures. I will be taking more courses with Dr. Peterson in the future and I would recommend him to others.

Professor Peterson is extremely passionate and knowledgable about what he teaches. He's very theatrical which makes for interesting classes and discussions - often times about things that have nothing to do with the class. He's a pretty straightforward guy, so what you put into the class is what you'll get out of it.

He is incredibly smart and well spoken. I did find this class to be difficult with little political science background. Keep up with the assigned readings-you will be tested. Final exams are essays.

He always kept class interesting, but expected a lot of time dedicated outside of class to homework. He assigned the longest paper I have written yet (10 pages!) but was clear about content required and graded it leniently. We spent the majority of the class discussing the material and going through student presentations

Essentially it's just a paper class, with the final paper being worth over 40% of your entire grade. The two in class tests weren't so bad. Just make sure you get on his good side early. Highly recommend for 290, nice guy, always swamped though.

I took Scandals in Politics. Dr. Peterson is an excellent storyteller, which made his lectures interesting and fun to listen to. The homework wasn't bad, just follow due dates and you should be fine. Definitely recommend.

Dr. Peterson is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to political science. When you need help, he is going to help you. If you really need the help, or need questions answered, it's best to meet with him in person, he receives a lot of emails. Not sure why this class has bad rep. The final paper is time consuming, but nothing crazy.

Dr. Peterson is awesome! He is so knowledgable and he truly enjoys what he does. I'm taking another class of his next semester just because he is so great. The homework is worth a lot of your grade and the access code is expensive. Tests are a little difficult but the essay portion adds some cushion. I recommend him to everyone for this class!

Geoff is such a conversationalist, thats why his class is so engaging and informative. Hes clear in his class expectations and was realistic and funny overall. Theres a midterm, final, a presentation group project and a large paper required. (Dont put off research/studying until last minute!!)

Dr. Peterson is the kind of professor that will make you laugh every day in class. While he primarily gives lectures, his presentation of the material is engaging and at times hilarious! He is a bit of tough grader on the papers but if you put in the effort and seek feedback from him youll be just fine! Highly recommend taking a class from him!

Dr. Peterson was one of the best professors I had during my first year at UW- Eau Claire. He knew the material very well and had a passion for sharing it with others. He was very lecture-heavy, but the lectures were both informative and easy to take notes on. His sense of humor made me look forward to class every day. A great professor. Recommend.

Professor Peterson is a good professor and his class is not very hard. You will have to put some effort in, but it will not be your hardest class of the semester by far. Lectures are important, but the reading isn't. Hard to get a hold of through email, but overall a pretty good professor.

Does not publish slides but doesn't grade attendance. Course was hybrid (2 classes in person, 1 "class" online but there was no lecture or extra work- it was a workday in case you need to finish hw). Lectures were captivating and the routine was easy to catch onto.

This man may be the best lecturer I have every had. While his course if a ton of homework, the tests are shown beforehand for the short answer portion which is very handy because of the amount of content in the course.

This dude is one of the funniest profs I've ever had. The lecture material isn't always the most interesting but he makes it much more engaging. Decent amount of homework. Multiple choice portions of exams were online and he posts the possible short answer prompts about a week beforehand so that's super helpful. Overall good class
