Very cute. He's really funny, and he makes the information interesting. Tests are fine if you go to class. He gives random "attendance quizzes" which, if you go to class, you get it right. I really enjoy his class. Did I say cute?
He makes the class really interesting and is pretty funny. The material is not too hard, and attendence quizes are sporatic. Very cool class.
Dr. Thomas is a funny guy, he gets sidetracked easily though and you can go into his tests thinking you know it all and then fail. The questions are worded in the most awkward way and for a 2000 level course, that's not what I expected. His attendance quizzes are random and easy because he usually puts it on the board. GO TO CLASS
Dr. Thomas is a nice person and his class is sometimes interesting. However his tests are impossible. You may know every definition and concept from class but the way he words it makes them so confusing for being a 2000 class. If you are very interested in the class it should be fine, but if you just want an A stay away.
Prof. Thomas's class is very interesting and easy to attend. He's super nice and very accommodating to help students out of class, he has office hours everyday. His tests are poorly written however and it's pretty hard to get an A. He is extremely cute though and you'll love the lectures!
By far one of the best teachers I've ever had. He's funny and very willing to help outside of class. He really knows his stuff! People say his tests are hard, but if you grasp the concept you'll do alright. You can't just memorize facts and expect to spit them out and get an A. Also, he's super cute :)
Wonderful professor! Very, very willing to help outside of class. He is very friendly and easy to approach, and he is passionate about what he is teaching. His tests are kind of unclear though. They're worded in a confusing way, so be extra prepared for tests no matter what. You have to study if you want to do well!
Great Professor. Very helpful and tries to make interesting. Sometimes test questions are worded strange but I'm sure he's learned from his mistakes now. Go to class for easy attendance pts. He's cute too
Very lively and interesting lectures. If you go to class and study a couple hours before the tests, it' easy to get an A. Tells a lot of lame but pretty hilarious jokes. Would definitely recommend.
Its not a really difficult class, but there is so much material no ones cares about. I though physical ant would be interesting, but turned out to be a lot about early primates. Unless you care about the diet and dental formulas of early monkeys and lorises, dont take. The tests are pretty hard. I studied 2 weeks in advance and got an 88 on midterm
Tests are extremely difficult, even studying daily and reviewing note with other students, his tests are way too hard, barely got by with a B and I worked harder than most students, creating notes for other students, nice guy thou
He is so great! Makes you really want to be an archaeologist. His class is super interesting. The tests are all from the PowerPoint. If you study, you'll be fine. Attendance is extra credit.
Great professor! He is super nice and extremely helpful. Attendance isn't mandatory, but he gives pop attendance quizes. Plus, going to class is easy because he's very entertaining! Tests aren't bad if you take the time to study. He can get a little off subject at times, but overall I highly recommend him!
Very interesting professor- makes you want to come to class. Tests are a bit hard but he posts his power points online, study them and you'll be fine, he pulls straight form power points and lectures. VERY understanding, and accessible, will work with you. Very nice and funny, he's easy to talk to.
I am currently in "Peoples of the World" with Dr. Thomas & felt compelled to add a review because of how much I enjoy his class. He is a really cool guy and makes class fun and worthwhile. It's super easy to do well as long as you do your reading. His class (which I'm taking for my Y credit) has been one of my favorites at FSU. Plus, he's hot.
Didn't think I would be interested before the class as I never enjoyed History. This professor even keeps me engaged and I find myself enjoying the information and class. I do think the tests are difficult so I'm glad I tookit as a summer class when I have a lighter load.
I'm not sure I agree w/ all the comments about his tests being confusing. I've taken Dr. Thomas twice now, and the tests are pretty straight forward. Didn't do much reading/studying, however I did go to class almost every day and took detailed notes. I got an A in both classes w/ him. One of my favorite professors at FSU!
no exams and very easy class. you read 4 books throughout the course, which he discusses thoroughly in class. you take a test on each book. and he gives extra credit 4 times randomly throughout the semester, so if you're absent, you miss it. overall, very interesting class and easy to listen to. great teacher!
Awesome teacher awesome class. Althought the tests were a little hard and really in depth, he's a great teacher and if you go to class and study all the powerpoints that he posts to blackboard then you should get a B. He explains everything crystal clear. Really interesting class i definitely suggest taking his classes!
Awesome teacher, easy class. Just read the books and you will get an A on all of the tests. Make sure to study the beginning notes and READ THE BOOK! the extra credit made my grade go up by a whole letter. Hes awesome and makes his class worth going to.
Amazing! I took three Anthropology classes in one semester, and he was my teacher for all three. Human Sexuality, Intro to Cult. Anthropology, and Intro to Archeology. Every class was interesting. Definitely take him for any class he teaches!
He is such a wonderful teacher! He is funny and keeps the class extremely interesting! You can tell he loves what he is teaching! You go over a lot of information, but it never seems overwhelming and he does a great review before tests!
Dr. Thomas is a pretty good teacher for the most part. His lectures can be pretty boring though and his tests are hard, so you have to study. There are several writing assignments throughout the semester, but they are spread out and not hard at all. Sometimes doesn't fully explain concepts, so pay attention and ask questions!
I LOVED him. I took him at TCC instead of FSU, but the guy is awesome. Super knowledgable, very cheerful and engaging, and answers all questions. And I mean all of them... I ask about 5-6 per lecture and before and after class questions. Very, very awesome. Take him, you'll LOVE his class! Oh and tests are based off powerpoints which are online.
This class was interesting, fun, and very easy. You will get a good grade if you pay attention! Only three tests and two assignments.
I loved this class! The material is so interesting and easy. As long as you listen to the lectures and study a day or two before the exam you'll be good. He's also funny and easy to talk to. Fave class in college so far
I have taken many classes with Dr. Thomas and he is a great professor. He is always there to answer any of your questions he is very enthusiastic about the material and it shows. He relies heavily on his powerpoints and much less on his textbooks. His tests are easy if you study the powerpoints.
Easily one of my favorite professors. If you are not interested in anthropology, you will be after any classes with him. He is such a nerd but it is hilarious. His passion towards his field is infectious. Tests are a little difficult, but not if you attend his lectures regularly. He does not rely heavily on the textbook.
Amazing guy. Very passionate about what he teaches. He is funny and awesome and I just wanna be his friend.
Mr. Thomas is one of the best instructor I ever had. Funny and make the class interesting. Alot of vocab and information to study but before the test he gives an outline and says what you need to focus on. I wish every instructor is like him.
One of the greatest instructors, nice looking, very helpful and funny. There is no quizes, there are just 3 exams in the semester. I recommend you to take him.
Mr. Thomas is a great teacher. He is very chill. He'll make funny jokes...he talks about the subject like it's just a normal conversation. Because attendance wasn't mandatory, I barely went. However, he gives out EC points on random days that you can only get if you show up. I studied the powerpoint slides intensely & got an A! (no book)
Prof Thomas is such a great teacher! He doesn't require a textbook, explains all powerpoints/articles thoroughly, and talks as if his lectures are just normal conversation. Take him!
such an awesome professor! you can tell he really loves what he does and truly cares about how well the students do. no textbook, which is a plus! his exams are easy if you just take notes. I would highly recommend this class(:
loved this class, everything was so interesting! He's an awesome prefessor, really down to earth and is willing to help you! Plus he gives you extra credit just for showing up to class!
Professor Thomas is great! I would love to take more classes he teaches. The material is interesting and it's easy to get an A if you go to class and pay attention to the lectures.
I loved this class! He was extremely nice and the class is super easy. Totally make this your science with out a lab, I did and loved it:) His powerpoints are online but he does an in-class review for tests and gives out in class extra credit, so get there!
Not a super easy A, but tests come directly from powerpoints. If you somewhat try in life then you're fine. He gave five extra credit point on the final grade if you show up to the random five iclickers he gives throughout the semester so if you go to class get the participation, get those 5 points its pretty hard to get lower than a B+.
Dr. Thomas is my favorite professor so far at FSU. He has an excellent grasp on the material and, combined with the class subject, made this my favorite class of fall semester. He doesn't take mandatory attendance but he'll randomly have iClicker quizzes for extra credit (up to 5% on your final grade!) but class is so interesting you'll want to go.
He's tests are passable but you need to read over the power points!! He also gives a review before each test so i would recommend bringing your power point printouts and a highlighter and you'll be fine. His two writing assignments are really easy just do them and you'll get full points as long as the format is right. He's an amazing teacher!!!!!!!
Amazing teacher! So interested in the subject and really engages his students. His lectures are funny and helpful, as long as you show up to class and pay attention you'll get an A.
He's really cute and funny, and it actually made me want to go class. One of my favorite things about him is that he learns every ones' name.
Super nice and funny guy. His lectures got boring sometimes but they were pretty clear. The exams were easy if you went to class regularly and studied. The only part I didn't like about the class is that he assigns about 4 labs that are to be done and the Dept. of Anthro which is off campus (next to Coliseum). The labs were easy, just inconvenient.
Loved this class & the way he teaches! He prepares you for the tests, which are based on his Powerpoints. Highly recommend!! Attendance isn't mandatory, but he does iClicker questions that are really entertaining and count for credit!
This class is not an easy A, but very interesting and you really have to work to expect a good grade. Would recommend attending all classes, but you won't fail if you miss a few. No homework, but tests are all essay and pretty hard so expect to study for awhile if you want to do good. His lectures are clear and straightforward.
Dr. Thomas is the best! This course material is what he's the most passionate about. The class is tough but it forces you to learn, and he's always happy to help. You won't pass the class if you don't go, but it's not mandatory. Extra time for studying is a must for this class.
I really want to give him a good review.. he's a really nice guy who is VERY knowledgeable. His teaching style isn't for everyone. He spends whole lectures on very specific details but the test questions are much broader.. so I spent so much time (20 hours) studying details for the final, and made an 83. Test grades didn't reflect what I learned.
Long story short, Dr. Thomas is the sole reason i decided to take on another major. He's inspiring, funny, passionate, helpful, and an overall wealth of knowledge. He's always willing to help and urges you to get involved, plus he brings bones to class sometimes--he's awesome!
Dr. Thomas is a super nice guy and the lectures are fascinating. I took this class to satisfy a GE and came out wanting to minor in anthropology. My advice: DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOK. You won't use it, and you can probably get one from the library if you do. Study for those tests because they cover a lot of material.
Human Osteo is definitely not an easy class but Dr. Thomas does his part to help you learn the bones with ease. He pays attention to the feelings of the class and on a couple occasions pushed the test dates because he could tell we hadn't had enough time to prepare. Lab hours are SO important. Can't learn the bones without spending time with them
Highly recommend him! He's really passionate about this subject and makes sure you're prepared for his test, although review his slides and you'll be okay for exams!
This is a professor who really cares about his students. This course was incredibly interesting and I was amazed by how much I enjoyed the material. It wasn't as easy as I thought it would be, but if you review the PowerPoints and study, then you can do well. I pulled off an A. He is ALWAYS there for you and willing to help you. Take him!!!
One of the best professors I've had at FSU. So glad I took this easy science credit and it was hardly about science. There are 3 exams and the class is based on lectures and iclicker questions that are survey based. I would take this class again in a heartbeat
This class was fairly easy and interesting . He is really passionate about the subject and really knows the material, so I would really recommend going especially if you're an anthro major, but missing every now and then won't hurt your grade. There is a 500 word summary of the weeks case study each week and one 2500 word paper due at the end.
Such a good class. Professor Thomas makes the class so funny ad enjoyable with constant jokes and great material. A class which doesn't take attendance but you will never want to miss because it is so interesting and enjoyable. If you show up then the 3 tests and 3 homework assignments are easy. Helps that he is cute & funny! Girls don't miss out!
Fun and easy class w/ a SUPER cute professor. Need I say more?
Thomas is a great guy, but his tests are tricky. There are 3 exams and the final. A lot of content is covered on each exam, beware anytime a question has "all of the above" as an answer choice, choose it!! Go to class, study hard, and a "B" is probable. I struggled a li with the tests because they're much more broad than his PPTs. just be careful
By far the BEST teacher at Florida State. His classes are SO FUN and he is hilarious. He has a lot of dad jokes so be prepared. I would HIGHLY recommend. His tests aren't too tough but you do have to study. He gives such good feedback on essays and homework assignments. GO TO OFFICE HOURS. He is always there to help with anything.
If you don't like science but need a science credit TAKE THIS CLASS. Professor Thomas makes class funny and so interesting. Tests are easy with minimal studying. Definitely a hidden gem of a class.
Dr. Thomas is knowledgeable and interesting. Pay attention to his lectures and study the PowerPoints and you'll do just fine. It's not hard to get an A. There are only two short writing assignments and three exams, so there aren't many grades to go off of, but he does offer extra credit for attendance.
I loved his class so much I decided to minor in anthropology. Dr. Thomas is kinda quirky, he's funny and knowledgable, and his lectures definitely reflect that; they do a fine job at capturing, and maintaining one's attention. Attendance isn't mandatory, and grades consist of 3 tests and a Final. Overall, interesting guy, interesting class.
Maybe it's because I already like the subject, but the class was fun. If you pay attention and take notes, it's a low-stress A. Dr. Thomas bases most of the grade on multiple-choice exams and participation labs, with random (easy) attendance quizzes. Upon my expressing interest in further study, he gave helpful direction. He's kind of funny. 10/10.
He is the best professor in the anthro major hands down. This class was EXTREMELY interesting, he is very good at not expressing his views and strictly reads facts which I loved. The class has 2 exams and a final, all MC. 1 writing assignment, 3 pages, single spaced. then 5 attendances (each worth 1%) that add 5% to your final grade, which is a lot
If you don't study on your own and read the notes, the lessons won't make sense. The tests are vague (that's good and bad) and he doesn't explain things clearly. I don't exactly suggest skipping class since he gives extra credit sometimes, but the teaching didn't help me understand the class any better. Seems like a nice guy but not a good teacher.
One of my professors at Florida State! His lectures are very insightful, and while they are mainly based off the powerpoint, they still offer more info than what is on them. Only has 4 grades for the semester: 3 100 point tests and one 150 point cumulative final. He also offers an additional percentage to your final grade at 5 unannounced times.
He is super cool and the material is very clear and understandable. He is very passionate about Anthro
Dr. Thomas is really nice. Literally if you do the work you will pass the class with no problems. It was seven 500 words paper, annotated bib with 20 citations and a 20 page double space research paper (including work cited), and a powerpoint presentation on your research paper topic. He is an easy grader. Do the work and you will get an A
He makes already fascinating material even more fascinating. His tests are easy if you study and you don't need to get the textbook. He's super funny too, he always puts gifs in his powerpoints and makes dad jokes which people awkwardly laugh at lol I think they're funny.
Never used the textbook. Teacher grades fairly. Makes class really interesting. Gives random attendance grades with really boost your grade so I would suggest showing up. Labs were really fun because some of the bones were real.
For a class on human sexuality, it is a surprisingly very heteronormative class which is really frustrating... Having no textbook required is nice, but also makes studying really broad and hard to do... All of the information is based off of his lectures/powerpoints. There are also very little opportunities for grades and exams are hard. He's nice
Professor Thomas is one of the sweetest and most caring professors of all time! If you have questions about Anthropology in general or potential internships, he will do his best to help you! His class is super easy and engaging. He does random attendance grades for extra credit that really help out your grade so I would go to class!
There are only three exams and a final. Attendance isn't mandatory but he takes 5 random attendance quizzes which can curve your overall grade up to 5 points at the end of the semester. Wouldn't take again because tests are hard to study for since he covers a lot of material and only gives 50 multiple choice question tests, which are tricky.
Fairly easy class. Uses top hat for participation and 5 attendances. Exams are easy- he never throws a curveball it comes from whats in the power points. Stay on top of top hat, attend a few classes and you'll pass. He's very passionate about the topics. keep in mind its the evolution of sexuality so the first half of the class looks at primates.
Thomas is awesome! 2 exams, cumulative final, 2 labs, 1 paper. He makes the class interesting and loves to laugh at his lectures. Test are easy and tells you whats on them. Random attendance is an additional 5 pt to your grade! Lectures are also online! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
I took this class as a freshman and was warned it was going to be super hard because it was a 4 thousand level course. Turns out, it was super easy. He makes so many corny jokes and keeps you entertained throughout the lecture. There were a couple exams, 2 labs and 1 paper. Attendance is optional, but he does give 5 random extra credit quizzes.
random attendance grades (at the worst times possible). I went every day for the first several weeks and no attendance. The Friday of parents weekend I skip to pick my parents from airport and that's when he took attendance. Tests are impossible. Asks you to determine between lots of different species that share similarities with crazy names.
He was a great professor, he only gives out 3 tests and 2 article assignments that are super easy. He tells you whats not he test but its a lot to study if you want a decent grade. 5 random attendances throughout the semester but they count as extra credit so you technically don't ever have to go you just won't get the 5% extra credit. dope prof.
Thomas was a great professor. All the material was on the powerpoints. There are 3 tests, non-cumulative, which can be hard, but if you study, you will be fine. He takes 5 random attendances for extra-credit points, but his class is so enjoyable so I didn't mind going! Would 100% take again. Such a cool professor. Easy A
Dr. Thomas is one of the best at Florida State. Super interesting and great subject matter. Super friendly and down to earth. Hilarious to listen to, and easy to participate. He's totally worth taking if possible.
Easily one of the best professors I've had so far in college. Attendance is extra credit, but the lectures are very interesting so most people go anyways. Look at the ppts and listen to the lectures if you want to do well. Only 3 easy hw assignments and then a couple of tests that are easy if you go to class. He's a really nice guy & accommodating
Took this class during Summer C & he was so nice. It consisted of 3 assignments & 3 tests, thats it. The assignments were 2 sets of 5 questions on the given articles & they were actually pretty interesting to read. The tests had tricky answer choices for questions so make sure to study. Interesting and easy class if you put in the work! Enjoyed it.
Hes a really nice guy and makes sure thay you have all the tools needed to pass the class, but your grade is only based on 3 100 point tests and 3 25 point assignments.
took this class bc i needed a science + lab credit and im so glad i did. honestly i didnt really care that much about anthropology but he was literally the best professor so i actually looked forward to attending class
Gave very interesting lectures and had a plethora of engaging examples. He's fairly lenient on grading labs which worked heavily in the favor of students. His test are clear and concise and filled only with subject matter covered in class. Textbook is more supplemental than required.
One of my favorite Anthropology professors at FSU. Very good at explaining the material and making it accessible to the students. Also gives students things to look forward to next semester and throughout the Anthropology department. Extremely fair grader and willing to hear you out if you disagree with something.
His class was very interesting and I felt like I was learning about relevant topics. However, your overall grade is very much impacted by how you do on your tests. For example, I got a 60 on the first one, bc I didn't know what to study, and It's the third exam now and I'm struggling for a C. But, if you can retain things easily, it won't be hard.
Doctor Thomas is the most amazing professor I have ever taken at FSU!!! He made me fall in love with anthropology as he is extremely knowledgeable. His classes usually consist of 4 exams which directly reflect the powerpoint lectures and he gives extra credit for attendance. I have taken nearly all of his classes, 10/10!
I had an amazing time taking ANT2301. The lectures are the highlight of the class. The class is graded by only a few papers and exams, but the information is so enjoyable that it was never stressful. Highly suggest taking any classes with Professor Thomas!
AWESOME professor! Dr. Thomas is funny, smart, and extremely passionate about what he teaches. Class is graded by 3 simple writing assignments, 3 tests based off lectures/PowerPoints, occasional surveys, and he gives extra credit based off of random attendance. The class itself is super interesting and lectures are engaging and enjoyable.
Professor Thomas is a fantastic lecturer. There are three exams and three assignments that are all easy enough if you follow directions and pay attention to the PowerPoints.
He's a nice guy but not the best Professor. His lectures lack any will to pay attention. And his grading is awful. He needs more ways to boost your grade if your not doing well on exams. He has top hat surveys that barely help.
Dr. Thomas is truly the best professor I've had at FSU. I took him for an elective course, and I love him so much that I am taking one of his other courses on a topic I don't care much about just because he is so great. He is hilarious, gives fantastic lectures, and is so incredibly knowledgeable as well. He gave extra credit for attendance. TAKE!
Professor Thomas ANT2511 class was very interesting. As someone who's never taken an anthro class, the class was relatively easy to manage. There are 3 exams and then one final which are easy if you study (there are quizlets to help). He has 5 extra-credit attendance points but class isn't mandatory and sometimes you doze off during his teachings.
This professor is the reason I am an anthropology major. His class is informative and interesting. I love taking his classes, I am totally hooked. I have taken two already and on my third. He is a fair grader, keeps good pace and very relaxed. Great personality and makes the subject understandable even if you're new and a non-major.
Lots of lecture but entertaining. You have to work but I highly recommend.
Every morning I get the pleasure of attending one of Dr. Thomas's classes, I wake up with the pure, unbridled enthusiasm of a child on Christmas morning. Attending his lectures feels like going on an adventure through a cotton candy forest. It is magical, with adventure and wonder around every turn. You will be educated and enlightened.
Super fun class, I took evolution of human sexuality. His lectures were really great, but the tests were a little hard. Really funny guy as well and he is really knowledgable about what he's teaching
Literally just show up to class and you will pass
super knowledgeable about the course and major- will answer anything about fsu, anthro, or literally whatever u need help with. consists of 3 very small writing assignments & 3 tests so not much work. takes random attendance 5 times so you don't have to go but its extra credit if u do. wish i was an anthro major so I could take more of his classes
I took ANT2301 for Summer B as my first in-person college class. Professor Thomas is the best! He gives cool-dad energy. His lectures were really entertaining with surveys. Extra-cred +5 points on your final grade for attendance! The hardest part is the tests (no quizlets lol). Thank you, Professor Thomas, keep doing what you're doing!
Dr.Thomas was a great teacher but his class is graded majorly by 3 tests and 3 assignments. He does do 5 point attendance for extra credit and 25 survey questions that count as your participation grade. Tests are timed 90 minutes and on canvas, so they're pretty much open notes.
This was the best class to take over the summer, was very entertaining and Dr. Thomas is so personable and fun to talk to. The work load was minimal and the pace is pretty easy to get behind. HIGHLY recommend taking this class. You get so much extra credit simply by just showing up.
super funny and interactive
I took this class as an elective. The class is based off of 3 assignments and 3 tests. The tests are difficult and the graders for the assignments grade difficult. Unless you are very passionate about this subject, you will struggle in this course.
He was a very good teacher and I enjoyed his lectures. Your grade relies on three tests and three assignments but the assignments are graded very strictly so follow the instructions exactly. He bases attendance on 5 randomly chosen days so make sure to show up to class.
Has experience in the field, and is certainly very passionate about it. His lectures are not boring at all, and he is honestly pretty funny.
The classes are heavily lecture based. Attendance is used as extra credit which is really nice. However there are only 3 assignments and 3 tests, making each of them count a significant amount of your grade, so make sure that you take your time with them to get the best grade possible on each one.
Dr. Thomas has a passion for anthropology so he keeps his class pretty lively. He takes attendance 5 times throughout the semester for extra credit. Take notes on the powerpoints and the tests will go well.
Prof. Thomas was amazing. His lectures were very informative and kept my attention despite taking this class for my natural sciences requirement. He was super laid back and was always open to questions after lecture. The tests were straight forward and as attendance was extra credit, show up to class and you shouldn't have a problem.
I really liked this professor! The only grades were 3 assignments and 3 tests- keep up with the notes to do well. The assignments required a bit of reading dense studies but they were bearable- set aside time to do them, it will take you longer than you think. He offers extra credit for participation so go to class.
He's funny, and his lectures are enjoyable, long as you don't mind looking at chimp ba**s. He doesn't have a lot of assignments, the TA grades the assignments, and they can be tough. If you think your grade was unfair, tell him! We did and he upped our grade by 3 pts! Go to class, extra credit is five grade points, and can change your letter grade.
Easily one of my favorite classes taken at FSU, Dr. Thomas is incredibly knowledgeable in his field and loves to engage in class discussions should you ever have any questions. His quizzes were very easy, you really just have to study for the exams.
Very knowledgeable and very engaging material. Easy yet interesting class with a good professor, just go to class and you'll be fine
lecture-heavy class but a great professor overall and not boring! if you need a science credit take this class!! only graded by easyyyy writing assignments and the tests basically and they are sort of hard (exams) but you will do well if you study/go to class
Dr. Thomas was a great professor. He knows a ton about anthropology and was clearly very passionate about teaching it. He supplemented the class with field trips and fun in class activities. Graded mostly on a 10 page paper which is tailored to your interests. Grades liberally, would definitely recommend his honors course.
his lectures cover a lot of material and he isn't always clear about what will be on the exams. however!!!! he is an awesome dude, truly has a passion for anthropology and will make you have one too
Attendance is mandatory and tests are very relaxed. Loved his lectures and he made his class interesting. Very easy to pass if you show up.
Dr. Thomas is an amazing professor who really cares about the topics he teaches. His lectures are really interesting and he does in-class surveys that help the class feel part of the lesson. Make sure you go to all the classes because attendance is random but it gets added to your final exam.
class is lecture heavy but I barely paid attention. There are 3 exams (online/ no honor lock) and they all come straight from the ppts, so just really study them before and you'll be good. He takes attendance 5 times randomly and each is worth 1 extra % on ur final grade. I went all five times and it was the difference between an A & a B for me
I got a C+ but thats on me, this class is an easy A if you pay attention and do the work. Proffesor is a great guy and the lectures didn't instantly put me to sleep like most classes.
Easy class, saying as a freshman in a 4000-level course. There are 3 tests and 1 paper. There is a textbook required, but I barely used it. He has 5 random attendances that count as participation. He is very passionate about what he teaches and there are long powerpoints. Sometimes we just watch documentaries in class.
He is engaging, supportive, funny, and helpful.
Professor Thomas is so chill and understanding. All of his exams are open note and online, no need for testing center. There are one or two online homework assignments due every week which take about an hour each, but they are fairly easy. Recommend studying, course itself is kinda complex, but he makes it as easy as possible.
Amazing guy in general, loved the way he tought
Was extremely nice and gave clear and interesting lectures.
Amazing professor with really good lectures. Tests were open-note and online. Attendance was mandatory but his lectures were really engaging and easy to follow. As long as you pay attention and do the homework, you'll be fine.
i came to lecture here and there but when i did, i thought Professor Thomas was very nice and chill. i liked how clear and straightforward he was with his exams.
Amazing Professor. Super chill, fun, and interesting lectures. I honestly feel bad that my attendance wasn't more consistent. Tests were very straightforward.
I took this class to complete my ethics credit, but I ended up really enjoying the class and content. Professor Thomas is really entertaining and very understanding. You do have to participate in ethics bowls and write a 10-12 page final paper throughout the semester. The paper isn't too bad since you chose your topic.
2 weekly easy assignments, 3 exams + 1 final that aren't difficult, lectures were really interesting and u can tell he knows what hes talking about and just funny jolly dude. $70 textbook. lab is pretty chill and straightforward, most stuff done in lab and 2 outside-of-lab weekly assignments that take 5 min, got an A. lab textbook is $60
I loved Dr. Thomas. He was an awesome lecturer, which made going to class easy. There was an extra five percent credit given for just attending class, which is easy cause of how well Dr. Thomas teaches it. Dr. Thomas administers all his tests via canvas, which is also great. Great material and an easy A.
