Extremely funny, full of sarcasm. Awesome lecturer. You don't wanna miss a class
witty, intelligent, mind expanding and looks like Kenneth Brannagh

His lectures are long and rambling. He speaks too quickly for you to take useful notes and it seems that much of what he says is off-topic.

At least he thinks he funny. Slow down buddy, we're trying to take notes here. Very unclear and rambling lectures.
Maybe he does talk a bit fast, but for those who go to class, he repeats a summary of all the important information within the first five minutes of the following class. As a bonus, his wit makes 3 hours of lecture less painful.
As approachable as the guy next door, with the wit of Chandler on "Friends." Lectures are enjoyable, and students learn so much!
One of the best profs ever. He's hilarious, and although the class is not always the most interesting, he tries his best to keep students attentions.
Hot, funny as hell, he should take a sedative, to SLOW DOWN his lectures. Has a wife already. Sorry guys. He's kind of a dick, but he loves that about himself, so I love it too.
This guy needs a psychiatrist

This guy kicks ass. Pretty witty asides during class. Definitely best prof yet.
Funny teacher. Makes boring subject less so, but speaks a little to fast.
Sometimes he goes a bit quick, but because he clarifies everything and uses kick ass hilarious examples, it's a great class! He's so funny!
We know you're reading this Professor...however, great class, helpful TA's (at least mine is) and funny stories.
Anyone who can make political thought interesting by making relevant pop culture references is ok in my books. Plus he is one of the funniest people I know.
loved his class. he has a great sense of humore..and his examples were awsome. very clear.
Great lectures, but hard to takes notes from him.
One of the greatest professors on campus, his lectures sound like he's reading from a book they're so flawless. Lectures are amazing. GET IN HIS CLASS
Very interesting class, fairly comical, but extremely unhelpful when it came to giving notes, answering calls or e-mails. Good lecture notes otherwise.
I have never had a professor like this before. Relating political philosophy - plato, aristotle etc to Eminem and 50 cent.. now that takes talent. You'll just get his class... trust me, he's the only one to trust to teach you this crap
Pure Gold.
Agreed that he talks fast but all you have to do is ask him to slow down, its not like he's uptight about it. Generally a good speaker, and he gives lots of analogies which make it easier to understand dry political theory. Very witty and his jokes make the class go by. hot too cause he's funny
He is a good prof. Knowledgeable and throws in humor.
This prof is very knowledgeable and has a very dry wit. His humour keeps the class moving and makes the course material more interesting.
An insanely funny professor, extremely intelligent, very approachable and makes it a pleasure for anyone attending his class.
Keeps things upbeat and funny. My favourite prof and my favourite class this year.
Talks fast and uses big words so its hard to take down notes. Funny though, he can relate everything back to beer, parties, things that happen at parties, and even uses dogs. Great Prof.
He talks fast, but he is funny, and can relate anything to beer and music. you will love this class even if you dont like poli sci because he is funny as hell.
His sense of humour made the lectures much more enjoyable. His points were clear. He speaks quickly, so don't try to write everything. He is only involved marking exams, so marks are based on TA's.
i liked this prof. he's a bit confusing at times, but he is a smart dude, and what he has to say is generally great: good analysis of political theories. he's funny too.. VEYR FUNNY. take his classes.
Great Prof, and funny. Makes an otherwise dry course entertaining.
He is a smart guy, but hey being smart is his job much like being beautiful is the job of a model. In an emergency don't call this dude he is a nervous wreck. But he is funny and a fast talker, sort of the Dennis Miller of Monday Night Academe. Fun, but that's about it.
Extremely smart guy, very funny, makes dull course content a bit more exciting.Speaks fast, but is overall a great prof. I'd definitely take another one of his courses!
funny, make class fun,wow what a biased nice man-CHENEY as a prof!get out of psci if u disagree, u obviously do not listen to his blindly western conservative mainstream undertones:EX:(I quote G.Kellow): "My cards on the table, I am against suicide bombers, and ad-busters is simply antisemitic." OMG!
I started off the year really liking this prof, he's funny, concise, overall a good lecturer. BEWARE! he is very rooted in liberalism, don't expect an unbiased view of Marx. He argues that you can't separate Marxist thought from practise - Marx leads to Pol Pot, Stalin, Mao. Very disappointing.
Prof. Kellow is great, really witty, and to quote him "incredibly clever!"
He is the man. Engaging, intelligent. Makes you want to be a political theorist by the end of every lecture. Brings the texts alive in lecture. The highlight of my week.
Great prof. Intelligent, funny, brings life to boring Hobbes. Girls seem to like him very much for one reason or another...:D
This professor will make you laugh more than any other, I did not expect an introductory Political Science course to be so enjoyable. I would highly recommend this prof!
my second class with with, also took 1001, by far best prof ever, great TA's, very good loking man as was my TA, very funny and very interesting. not tricks with re: to exams and essays. take it...u'll love it
very much not helpful and arogant.
Funny, quotable, gorgeous (sigh)... Sometimes I found his lectures brilliant but confusing, but when reading them over for the exam, I was struck with how thoughtful and clear they were. Very smart guy. Enjoyable class!
Yah this guy is straight up the man, if you don't like him its cause you yourself are a cocky ass and you just don't like his opinion. I wish more profs would be like him and not beat around the bushes, tell you their opinion and that way stir more debate. Nobody had the guts to confront him, instead they use internet sites to gripe, cowards!
A brilliant man. Represents a new generation at Carleton. His lectures are vivid, insightful, and illuminating. Professors should emulate Kellow. Progessive, yet disturbingly hawkish on "security" and "terrorism" issues, reminds me of Ignatieff in this respect. Overall, a highly valuable member of the polisci faculty.
He is an incredibly smart man, and does an amazing job introducing you to political philosophy. The assignments and exmam are difficult but fair, and you leave the class with a wealth of information.
Great prof, everything is single-source topic driven assignments on the course books. Focuses on specific books rather then the broader topic. Very well planned, interesting a funny lectures (I swear he scripts the whole thing). Take him, not Emberly.

Professor Kellow really knows his stuff. I learned lots about Hobs, Lock, Spitnosa. He's very smart and funny and not arogant also very cute. Take his cours.
Kellow RULES! Hilarious lectures: you want to do the readings just to get his jokes! Insightful, thoughtful, opinionated. I am taking 2300 at 6:30PM just to have him as my prof! I was worried about the content of 1001 but after he taught it, I loved it! TAKE HIS CLASS!!!
Great prof, good man and most hilarious lecturer at Carleton. Make him your prof, you have to take this class as a PSCI major so you might as well make it enjoyable.
Okay there, Kellow worshipers! While they are writing about how much they drool over him, be forewarned - it's not an easy class still! He is also not the most eaily approachable guy. If you ask him to help you out and stuff, even Vanda Bhatia is nicer than him! Take Emberley! The essays in this class are tough and the concepts he asks 4 are vague.
I dont know how he does it... but somehow he makes political philosophy fun! He really knows his stuff and does an exceptionable job of relaying some complex and not easily evident concepts... do the readings, go to classes and tutorials and you can ignore the comment below! He is awesome!
Don't waste your money by taking his class. Run the opposite direction...RUN!!!
HE makes the class so much fun. I really hate political thought but this proff accually makes me want to go to class.
I want his baby.
not a good professor at all
sooooo funny and very intelligent man, not to mention good looking
I managed to get an A in this class by taking very DETAILED lecture notes. The stuff isn't easy but he makes sence of it- he'll use a 50 cent or Paris Hilton reference to explain century old political thought. You will laugh your ass off. And yes, he is one sexy dude too...bonus!
Funny, guy but thats about it....
pretty damn egotistical. only provides his point of view, but nice to look at and pretty damn funny at times. EASY marker.. straight forward exams. he just likes to hear him self regergitated, so take detailed notes.
Give out very low grades, regardless of the quality of student work, but otherwise excellent.
I was not looking forward to this class at all, its required though so I had to take it. Dr. Kellow has made this my most anticipated class, I actually LOOK FORWARD to listening to him talk for two hours about Dostoevsky or Sophocles. He makes sense out of this stuff and in a humourous and relevant way, Carleton is a fool not to have him on tenure!
Didn't cover all material, disorganized, tells odd stories, confuses self in class and students.
Professor Kellow is the best professor at Carleton University. I purposely stayed and took his class because no one else can engage in political theory or philosophy discourse as passionate, interesting, relevant to current affairs and to political science as well as he has! Professor Kellow you'll be greatly missed by all! We love you!!!!!
Professor Kellow is the best prof at Carleton. Period. This guy is hilarious. He has his students cracking up every single class. He somehow found a way to make the course material relevant and approachable, which is no easy task. Carleton is losing a great prof here, and I feel sorry for anyone who missed out on Kellow's class. He will be missed!!
Easily the most engaging prof of my degree so far. I was not looking forward to the course but Professor Kellow makes the readings relevant and I looked forward to this class every week.
Kellow is the love of my life. I am bad at POLISCI and I loved this class. Sure I didn't do very well but I would take it again in a second. The man understand political theory and he understands students. He gets it, he makes the students get it, and they do get it. He is witty and funny and I met the greatest people in TA group. Take his course!
The books covered were all interesting and the lectures were quite enlightening. Yes, he's hilarious. He only gave out 4 essays to write for the whole year. Though, I think the short presentations we had to do were silly. Anyhow, he's helpful and approachable. No sweat! Keep up with the readings though.
I love him. I've had him 3 years in a row on purpose. love of my life :-)
I really did not like Professor Kellow. I always thought he was speaking above the class. It's almost like he was trying to show off his vocabulary. I was really excited to be in Public Affairs and Policy Management, but because of him, I've left BPAM and Carleton forever! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HIM AT ALL!!!
I found that his "insights" were pretty obvious, although he did make a couple of good points a lecture. Sometimes he was disorganized and unprepared. He uses a lot of big words, sometimes incorrectly, which can be confusing. He took certain texts/stories completely out of context, so I had a hard time trusting that what he said was credible.
Very good, I really enjoyed his humour.
So condescending. On the first day he told our class that he was looking for originality in essays; this was a lie. Stick to the points in his lectures and you will get amazing marks. My first essay I had a B+ and pulled my mark up to an A by the end (by stealing from lectures). Seems like a bit of a dick and watch for when he says "RAH-ther."
He is likely one of the best lecturers at Carleton. They would do well to do whatever they can to get him back on tenure track. Very intelligent but also very clear in making connections between materials and current political situations. However, he has very elaborate opinions formed already and can be condescending to dissent.
How has no one made any comments on Kellow yet?! This man rocks my world. He's one of the rare professors who is both a genius and a top-notch communicator. Witty, clever, and always up for a debate, Kellow has got to be among the best at Carleton.
Keywords: Hot, funny, articulate, professional. Scarily smart, can be intimidating because he doesn't talk about something unless he KNOWS everything about it. havent been graded yet but hear he's avg hard.

This man is a godsend. He is witty, kind, helpful, engaging and clear. His lectures cover the required texts thoroughly, but he brings them to life with historical and cultural context and lively anecdotes. I deliberately took 3 classes with him. Sign up now!!!
very intelligent, but also very errogant. Also, english is not my first language and I found it hard to understand some of the complex language he uses. He is very sophisticated and he will reference a lot of authors and events that we haven't covered in class yet, which can leave you feeling overwhelmed and just plain stupid.
Really interesting class and great professor. I did not find him monotone and enjoyed the lectures. His class is built to help you succeed if you put in the effort.
Professor Kellow is one of the many amazing professors who teach in the College of the Humanities. He somehow made Economics and American history very enjoyable. His jokes are always funny and he is an incredibly intelligent man. He cares for the success of his students and is always willing to talk through concepts and ideas with you. A gem.
an amazing lecturer but has absolutely no care for students at all. he is funny and his lectures are very interesting and fun, but if you have any questions for him outside of class he will be condescending and tell you you should have googled it (even when he was academic advisor). left the hums program because of him.
being funny should not make up for what a terrible professor he is outside of class. will tell students with mental illness to "take the class when they feel better" and drop the whole program instead of giving a two-day extension. Will say you should have googled things instead of asking him and then giving the wrong answers. the list goes on.
Do (most of) your readings in advance! A lot of fun and brings a lot to the table in terms of political theory.
