Do not take his class. Prof Odero can barely speak English. If someone asks him a question about the wording of a problem, he gets confrontational and speaks to them like an idiot. He legitimately doesn't understand the answers to his own questions in a high school level statistics class.
This class is one of the easiest math classes I've ever taken. If you show up to most of the classes and do the homework you'll do fine. He is funny and cares a lot about his students.
Odero is an oddball professor. At first I hated his teaching and wasn't a big fan of the class. As the semester carried on I started to enjoy his class more. Not that stats is the most interesting subject, but he teaches the material well enough that if you use the study guides and such you should end up with a high B if not an A.
The class itself is very easy and he gives you lots of time to complete homework. If you answer the clicker questions in class and do the optional study guides, you should have no problem making an A.
This class was extremely challenging. He was hard to understand. I had to teach myself everything on my own. Even his notes did not help to teach me. He was really rude. He would ask the class if we wanted to leave early and then when we say yes, he goes too bad and starts a new chapter. Would never take again.
Mr. Odero is great teacher! He makes it very easy to learn the material. Homework is due is at random times and can be VERY time consuming (over an hour), but it is mandatory. He is very quick to respond to emails and is very considerable of students and their busy schedules (he loves to extend deadlines). He likes to call on people in class!
If you already have taken a statistics class, this class will be a breeze. Professor Odero works through examples and does a great job explaining. Very accessible outside of the classroom if you need more explanations & very willing to extend deadlines on homework. Study guides are exactly like the exams. If you show up & pay attention, you'll pass
Mr. Odero is a cool guy. Hes from Kenya so if you cant get through an accent itll be tough. The notes are all posted online unless he emails otherwise. YOU NEED TO BE THERE, he will occasionally hand out pop quizzes. The material is not hard and the way he lectures through it is okay. Hes good one-on-one if you dont grasp it immediately.
One of the hardest classes. I can never understand what he is saying due to his accent and him being quiet. Doesn't remind you about the homework so I missed a few. Also, isn't clear how to do problems.
Easiest class ever, and I have never taken statistics before in my life. Tests are super easy and all homework is online where you get three chances to get the multiple choice questions right. Notes are all posted online as well. Final is optional. He does have a very thick accent but I got used to it quickly.
Professor Odero's class is pretty boring and straight-forward, so as long as you kind of know what's going on a do the study guides, you'll pass. The material really isn't hard, but he has an accent so you have to pay attention to what he's saying
Every time I walked in Professor Geophrey's class, all of my angst washed away. His name is the most stellar name ever thought of. When I hear the words, "Geophrey Odero", I can hear the voice of God, Allah, Eminem, and Yahweh.
I dont see why people struggle in Stat 110. Professor Odero has an accent, but it has not at all prevented me from learning. Just go to class and youll do well, I find the course to be extremely easy.
This class is very confusing Odero has a heavy accent cant understand what the hell hes saying
Excellent teacher who cares about the student's success. Go to every class because if you are failing with perfect attendance, he will give you a passing grade. He teaches all the material in a way everyone can understand, he makes the tests and easy and its an easy pass. Homework is hard but its because his tests are so easy.
His accent makes him hard to understand but the content is not that difficult. He gives practice exams that are useful for studying for the exams.
At first, Odero's accent is confusing but you become accustomed to it within a week. All notes are basically made for you but you have to come to class to fill in the blanks and examples within the notes. Chapters are short. There was like one pop quiz but that was it. Exams are basically identical to practice exams. He is very caring and helpful!
Prof Odero isn't the worst professor, but he isn't the best either. Good news is that if you don't do well on the first 3 exams then you can take the final and it will replace your lowest exam grade. He wants his students to pass and will give you all the extra help you need.
Odero really cares about his students. His accent is hard to understand at first, but it gets easier. He makes a packet of notes that you fill in at the beginning of the semester that you're responsible to print. Come to class prepared. He cares a lot about participation so answer his questions. Don't skip class or he'll take points away. Easy A.
Odero was amazing. I loved his kind heart, the class was crazy easy too. I went to his office often for extra help and he always was very helpful and just overall a great guy. Big accent, easy class.
Odero was a little weird and so was the class. As long as you did the homework and practice exams you could get an A on the exams. He would interrupt his lectures to tell us stories of his life in Kenya and adjustment to America which was funny. He also tries to draw pictures to illustrate statistics, his life, and his words of wisdom for us.
Professor Odero is a really awesome professor and cares greatly about his students. Attendance for his class is not mandatory but it is important to show up or get the notes from someone. Beware that he uses iClickers for attendance and a daily grade. His tests aren't hard but I took Stats in high school. He's a really funny helpful guy.
Great person, sometimes hard to understand but he uses a powerpoint and uploads all of the nots in the beginning of the semester. Good choice.
Great Professor! Super nice and funny. Always clearly states what he expects and is always willing to answer questions. His accent is a little tough sometimes, but if you print the course notes beforehand and pay attention, you will understand.
I went to almost every class and passed so easily. There are 3 exams then an optional final (which would replace your lowest exam grade if you take it) so if you are satisfied with your grade before finals, you don't even have to take one. All homework is online and you get 3 chances so easy 100%. Really sweet guy and wants students to pass!
I was hesitant about taking Odero just from the reviews but after having his class I 100% do not regret it. He is so patient with his students and truly wants people to succeed! His accent is tough to understand at first but after a week you don't really pay attention to it. I highly recommend!
He's a great teacher who cares about students and wants them to pass. He has a heavy accent but you get used to it quickly. Funny and often lets out class early. Provides a lot of material to help prepare you for the 3 exams. Final exam is optional.
Very difficult to understand at first because of his accent but I eventually got used to it. would recommend.
Online class. He rounded up my grade which was nice. Study the practice tests, study guides, and videos he provides for the tests. You have to get the tests proctored.
This man is so funny and gives out random extra credit just for showing up. He's more than happy to work with you on things you don't understand and you're able to actually enjoy the class. I LOVE THIS MAN.
Good professor, do NOT take this class if you have a hard time showing up, because after 3 absences he takes off 3 whole points from your entire grade per absence. Homework is easy, exams are somewhat like the study guides, but all around he is a really nice guy.
Professor Odero is super cool, funny, and chill. I had him at 9:40 and almost always let us out around 10. Textbook isn't a necessity, but it's helpful. He gives lots of extra credit opportunities. His tests look exactly like the review and are probably the easiest tests at USC. 100% recommend him for an easy A in STAT!
One of my favorite teacher, literally pay attention in class and do homework you will pass. Gives you a whole copy of the semester's notes at the beginning of the semester and you just follow along in lecture. Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you need help at the end of the semester he will not help you if you have missed a lot.
Had him for 110 and 102, this class was a little more difficult than 110. Some people really struggled with this class because of his accent, but I thought it was pretty easy. If you take 110 this class will be a breeze also he's really funny with stories from Kenya. Gives you all the lecture notes at the beginning of semester so just follow along.
TAKE THIS CLASS. Professor Odero is funny, relaxed, and really cares about you doing well in class. His accent isn't hard to understand at all and he is a great professor. He does want his students to show up however, so make sure you don't miss more than three classes. I would take him again if I could. He is one of the best professors at USC.
Literally the best professor I have ever had. I would take him again if I could. Go to class because iClicker points are extra credit and THEY HELP!!! Attendance is mandatory and after 4 missed lectures your grade goes down. Super funny, laid back and he cares about your grade. Laugh at his jokes too, his accent is not hard to understand at all.
As a person who does not enjoy math, I found Professor Oderos class To be manageable. The content can be difficult at times, but the notes are easy to follow along with. Make sure to show up to class to not only understand the content, but to earn extra points as well! Also, tests typically resemble a majority of the study guide!
Professor Odero is a great professor! he wants to see his students succeed in stat and is willing to meet with you outside of class! Exams are not hard if you show up to class, pay attention, and do the reviews that he gives us! I highly recommend taking this class
super easy A, the study guides for the tests were basically the same problems and he goes over the review as well. Very funny and engages with the class. He has a thick accent but you get used to it after the second or third class honestly. homework assignments were easy and had several weeks to complete. Take him!!
I loved this class. He has so many extra credit opportunities and his study guides are pretty much the exam. The final is optional. He is really funny and is very clear on his attendance policy. He adds 4% to your overall grade for perfect attendance and takes 4% off every four absences. This is strict, but it isn't hard to come to class. Easy A.
This is the most straight forward class ever. He teaches and explains material super well. Before every exam, he goes over a practice exam in class that pretty much mirrors the actual exam. People on here may complain about his accent, but I had no issue with it. He is also lowkey funny. Highly recommend this professor if you need this class.
GREAT PROFESSOR! love this course so much do practice exams and you will be fine!
I'm not great at math, but Odero's class was chill & straightforward. You get 3-5 bonus points on your final grade for perfect attendance, but lose 3-5 points if you miss more than 3 classes. All of the iclicker points were for extra credit, & the tests were almost identical to the study guides. Show up, do the work, & you'll be fine. Funny guy
I LOVE Professor Odero. He makes the material easy to follow and gives lots of chances for points. I had him for Stat 110 and 201 and he was great for both. If you show up and pay attention he basically gives you answers. He's also so sweet and funny you'll love him.
Mr. Odero is very funny which makes his class tolerable. Although sometimes he may come off as rude. Must come to class to get I clicker points, and take notes to do well on test. Test are not too hard but some are. Homework is very easy. Might take this class again.
If youre reading this before youre officially stuck with Odero, please change professors. Professor Odero is just horrible. He gives you a study guide for the tests and you can study them all day long but you will always fail the tests. The final exam is optional but it can either hurt or help you. Very unfair and his accent sucks.
Odero is AMAZING. I hate math, and he made the class completely clear and you just have to show up and pay attention. He allows laptops in class and the homework is online, and he gives extra credit for iClicker. He is also a really nice guy and will discuss your grade with him.
Overall a really frustrating course with a frustrating professor. While the tests are relatively simple if you study a little, Odero is extremely inaccessible outside of class, and does not care a ton about how you do. Extremely heavy accent in a lecture heavy class, make sure you either have a firm understanding of stat or come to every class.
Odero is awesome. Hes class is an easy A if you show up and study the study guides. The study guides are almost identical to the actual test (same question format, different numbers). Pretty funny and lot of extra credit. Only thing about him is that his handwriting sucks.
Professor Odero is the best instructor I met in the whole semester. He makes sure the lecture covering all the things you have to know and once he finishes the chapter he'll let you go. As long as you pay effort, you'll pass the exams. He also gives you lots of extra credits. He's funny and super nice, always there to give you any help. TAKE HIM!
Geophrey is HANDS DOWN the best teacher I've ever had. You don't really need to use the textbook, he puts up lecture slides on blackboard that you do fill-in-the-blanks in class. Geophrey deserves a statue outside somewhere honestly. He gave us nice curves on the tests if we were good in class, and he was always nice and willing to help.
Mr. Odero is the only teacher you should consider taking. This man is a gem. Homework is spaced out and easy, tests are fine if you pay attention. Grading is quick and clear. He is so funny, and you'll see people complaining about the accent but you have to be very close-minded if you don't start to love it. He starts each class with "NOW" and :)
I took this online class hoping to get an A but I may come out with a C. Professor Odero is a super caring guy and very understanding. For the exams he uses "ProctorU" which is an online proctor who watches you which personally made me uncomfortable as I have test anxiety as it is. Most of the homework answers are online so its not too bad.
Odero is such an amazing prof! He genuinely cares about his students and will do his best to accommodate you if you simply reach out. He even attended a study group session one time before a test! He doesnt require attendance but if you go you get iclicker points and before tests he gives some extra credit towards test if you attend class!
I had a great time in Odero's 110 class, although it is very lecture heavy. He expects you to be in class and you get clicker quizzes everyday that count toward your grade, but as long as you go the tests are easy and he usually curves them. He is one of the funniest people ever take his class!
I took his online class and it wasn't too bad as long as you stay ahead of your work and pay attention to the lectures! Had to have tests proctored but they weren't too bad. He gives study guides and he usually curves a lot for tests. Do the homework and assignments they help boost grade!
Attendance isn't mandatory, but you should definitely go because his lecture notes are fill-in-the-blank, and he gives extra credit. His study guides are pretty much exactly the same as his exams. As long as you show up to class and do minimal studying, this class should be doable. I'd personally take it again.
Odero is the best prof that Ive ever had. I looked forward to his class. He truly cares about his students and is super intelligent. His accent isnt bad and he has great humor. He gives easy homework and study guides that are basically the same as the test. He always attempted to help students with any questions. Honestly, I love the guy
I took this class completely online with no meeting times or lectures. The lecture videos and notes he gave us were from another professor. It really is not a hard class and he is very nice and tries to help you as much as possible. Actually takes notes on the videos they help A LOT.
I took Stats 110 online this semester, and Professor Odero's layout could not have been easier to understand and follow. The online class consists of notes that you print out for each chapter and a lecture that follows those notes. Very easy to understand and Odero is easily accessible with thorough answers should you need his help.
Unfortunately, COVID kind of ruined this experience for me. Was supposed to take in class but had to take online. But the prof was one of the best online instructors I've had. He sends emails everyday with reminders and info, he is very easy to contact, and he replies promptly. He does everything he can to help you, you just have to put in the work
This class is asynchronous but there are due dates. So be prepared to actually learn the material because you will not pass the exam. There are three exams which is 80% and homework is 20%. And finals that is optional. The professor is really nice and he responds quickly and he will also let you know when he is available.
The class was laid out really well and everything was really easy as long as you watched the lectures. All homework had 2 tries and he has bonus quizzes with unlimited tries to help your homework grade. All tests were open note/book. Honestly a really simple and straightforward class.
Probably one of the Worst teachers I have taken in my School History. Please do not take this individual. Very Hard Grader not willing to help student out or explain problems. Worst Ever!!!
Odero really did not do anything to help the students. I had questions which he got back to in a timely manner but was not helpful. Also had to buy the text which I did not even look at. Luckily the material for this class is not difficult.
I was surprised he had bad reviews the class was SO easy. I got the textbook online version for free and people say they dont need it but I used it to help me learn the topics & on the quizzes/tests bc they were open note!
I hate math but really liked this class. Every week there was 1-2 recorded lectures with fill-in-the-blank notes, a homework assignment and a total of 4 exams (keep 3 scores). The lectures and homework prepare you very well for the exams and Odero is easy to reach by email and always willing to answer questions.
I took professor Odero for asynchronous STAT 110 and he was very nice and kind. There are weekly videos to watch every week and a couple of HW with a quiz every week. A lot of online work but it makes sure you know the material for the exam
He makes it extremely easy and he sends reminders so you definitely shouldnt miss a thing. The homework is easy and actually learn and his video lectures are clear and follow the test. Take him, you wont regret it. ( I took this online during Rona)
The easiest teacher, this is the most chill class that I have taken.
I took this class online and the lectures weren't even his.
Homework was easy but the exams were a little bit hard. Just take notes, pay attention and you'll pass
All assignments were on canvas with clear due dates. Not a single lecture was his own. When I would emailed him with a question the response was rarely helpful. I just dont understand how you can get away with using someone elses lectures and having canvas grade everything for you.
The class was 100% asynch but he sends lots of reminders. The material was fairly easy if you take notes. However the hw and tests were pretty hard but the tests are like the practice tests. He made things very easy and let us revisit homework assignments. I definitely recommend because it was very chill . You also definitely don't need the book!
He sent out emails about everything due within the unit on every day. I found this helpful because I wouldn't forget about upcoming exams. As long as you do the work you should be good. Optional final exam.
Kind prof, straightforward class, helpful lectures
I may have selected lots of HW but its really not. I took this online and it was a breeze. Do the homework and I swear the test will be a breeze. Sometimes he even uses problems from the lectures on the test!
each class is just him talking but he will stop and do drawings or tell a fun story every once in a while so it is fun. he is very funny and I am so happy I took this course. You can tell he is a super nice guy. Definitely sit up front. Go to class so you get the bonus points and he will bump your grade up if you never missed a class. I recommend!!
Funny professor, but lectures can be boring. Attendance is "mandatory"; miss as many classes as you need, but after 3 unexcused absences he will not pull your average up at the end of the semester. Notes are posted online but are not filled in, go to class to get answers. Posts study guides. Homework is easy, gives extra credit for participation.
He makes the class super easy and makes lecture notes so all you have do is follow along and maybe add some things here and there. While attendance isn't mandatory, HIGHLY recommend attending as many classes as you can. Depending on how many classes you went to, he'll round your grade. He also gives a lot of extra credit quizzes
Odero does a great job in Stat110. There are only 3 tests and an optional final exam, and homework's are so easy and you get three tries on them. Class is a breeze, but he does take mandatory attendance that is part of your grade. Odero has an accent that some might find hard to understand at first, but it's not that bad. His class is not hard.
Geophrey is the absolute goat. I came into stat feeling so stressed cause Im awful at math but stat 205 was my easiest class this semester. We only had two exams and both were open notes and I got a 100 on the first one. There is homework about every other week and the most questions Ive ever seen on a homework was like ten.
Geoffrey is awesome, likes to tell funny side stories randomly. Class always got out early and there was only a midterm and a final both of which were open notes from a study guide gone over in class. A ton of extra credit quizzes during class that gives you extra bonus points. Would so take him again if I had to.
Professor Odero is such a funny professor and his class is super easy! As long as you take good notes and show up to class, youre bound to make an A or B. Definitely recommend!!
He teaches stat in a very easy to understand way and gives extra credit points through answering questions on iClicker in class. He's so funny, gives you direct tips for exams, and we get out of class early all the time.
He always ends class early and he's super nice and funny. Theres 3 exams that are all on online and if you do good on the exams, you don't have to take the final. The homework is super easy and you get 3 tries so you always get an 100. He uses IClicker for bonus points and he boosts your grade if you have good attendance. Best teacher possible.
It was very obvious that Professor Odero cares for his students and wants them to succeed. He not only will help you with all your HW questions but throws in some extra credit for those who attend his class regularly. He knows not everyone is a math major, with that being said he doesn't try to make anything difficult. He's also very funny!
I was never good at math and was really worried about taking my first college math course. Odero made the class so easy and gave PDFs of his lectures for students to follow in class. He also made the class fun and interesting so I highly recommend. As long as you arent bothered by a slight accent hes the perfect stat teacher for STAT at any level
Prof. Odero is amazing. 4 exams total, and if youre happy w/ your grade you can exempt from the final. Tests are open notes. Hw is easy, and you get 3 tries (easy 100). Extra credit through iClicker questions, it gets added to your HW if you miss any points. Attendance isnt required. He has a slight accent, but hes not hard to understand at all.
Odero was relatable, told stories about his personal life that related to the content. He would lecture and can ask him questions and he is willing to explain. Attendance is mandatory. Assignments and exams are laid out and explained (little hard based on wording). Class was a little tough if you aren't great in math
His notes convenient in that it's all printed out except for fill in the blank that he would answer during class. Attendance is important since he would fill in the notes at that time and use iClicker to have small, easy questions as extra credit. His homework is easy to complete and the tests are easy to answer if you have all of your notes.
I took him because stat is not my best subject and he did open book tests, but turns out he stopped doing that recently. His lectures are a little hard to follow but the HW is easy to do and the study guide is basically exactly what the test is so as long as you take notes and do the study guide you'll be fine
At the time I took the class it was open note making it very easy. He gives out fill-in notes with answers straight from the textbook and lectures were made to be funny and easy to follow. As long as you do your work with some effort, you will pass.
Professor Odero's exams were open note and came directly from lecture notes which were just fill in the blank notes. The content was pretty easy but he also made it as easy as possible. There was iCliker but class got out early and was canceled a lot. If you do well, you don't have to take the final. He also has a great sense of humor, take him!
Odero's class is relatively easy. If you show up and stay on top of notes you'll pass. He gives out a lot of extra credit for just being in class. He takes attendance very serious. Other than attendance, he is really laid back and understandable. He makes lot of jokes in class, but will call you out for being on your phone in the first row.
Professor Odero is great. He is somewhat strict about attendance, and usually does attendance through iClicker, which counts for extra credit. He gives a ton of extra credit for exams just for showing up and has study guides that are exactly what the exams are like.
Definitely show up to class and you will get rewarded. 3 tests and an optional final. Weekly homeworks that he allows two attempts for. He is funny and also spontaneous at times. Definitely take him for stat 110
Overall, Professor Odero's class was super easy. I will say he doesn't teach in much detail, but STAT 110 was easy to understand without help. He gives lots of extra-credit and study guides that resemble the exams. Definitely recommend.
As long as you show up and do your work, you will pass easily. He provided multiple extra credit opportunities for our class as long as you attended lecture. He may come off as difficult based off his introduction but its really not bad at all. Would definitely take his class again.
Odero gives lecture notes and all you have to do is follow along in class. ou will need an iClicker and a subscription. If you do well on all three exams, you don't have to take a final. He always posts practice tests and the homework is exactly what is on the tests. Awesome professor! No textbook required!
Odero was a good professor. There are 3 exams & the study guide given is almost identical to the exam. Iclicker is used as extra credit for homework (which there is not much of). There are multiple extra credit opportunities for tests. There was never a time where class wasn't let out early. However, he is not understanding with absences at all.
Mr. Odero is a very nice guy and it is not hard to pass his class. However, do not even consider missing more than 3 classes or he will not be willing to move up your grade. If you are someone who misses class a lot, then Odero is not for you. He offers a final exam that makes it possible to replace your lowest test grade which was helpful.
I took STAT 110 online and it was extremely straight forward, it was clear what you needed to do every week, and everything was done online. Just pay attention to the homework and you'll do fine on the tests. He emails every morning with reminders which is helpful.
Great professor! he makes the class easy to understand and you will pass if you show up and listen, it isnt hard.
I absolutely love Odero, his exams are exactly like the study guide. You have to show up, but its worth it because he will give you extra credit sometimes. On 1 exam I got 20 extra credit pts. He always ended super early, and sometimes will cancel classes after exams. He does have an accent, but all you have to do is follow the notes he provides.
The exams count for 80% of your grade. The tests were difficult, but overall he grades pretty fairly. He uses ProctorU for exams instead of Lockdown Browser and you have to pay to take your exams; I paid around $50 in total for all three. Overall, he's a good professor and if you watch the lectures, you'll do just fine.
Definitely take Professor Odero. His homework and optional practice quizzes are almost exactly like the exams so definitely do those. I went to his office hours once and he was very helpful and cared that I actually understood the material. He also gives lots of extra credit for participation and Iclicker quizzes.
Professor Odero is the GOAT. iClicker quizzes give up to 10 bonus points on your final grade. The tests are straight from the study guide. Sometimes he doesn't even change the numbers, and you get a 8.5x11 cheat sheet on each exam. Not to mention, he is absolutely hilarious! I was dreading STAT 205, but he somehow made it my favorite class!
Dr. Odero is a great teacher who tries to make sure his students are well involved in the class. He not only gives extra credit for being in class, but is a very funny and goofy person which make his lectures more interesting. Homework and tests are not hard but you will definitely benefit from staying on top of the course material.
Professor Odero is one of my favorite professors here! He gave extra credit the week before the exam for going to class. You will only pass this class if you go but he is amazing!
Odero is extremely nice and cares that students do well. He gives out exam reviews that are very similar to the exams. He gives so much extra credit, some through iClicker and some just by attending. He does have a thick accent though. Homeworks are easy and deadlines for assignments are always posted. This year he allows cheat sheet on exams.
Gives class activities during class that can't be made up/redone but a few of the lowest get dropped at the end, so make sure you attend class for those. IClicker extra credit is also given out if you purchase it (optional). Odero is funny and also available during his office hours. Homework is probably the harder part of this class but not too bad
I truly believe he is the best professor here, I've taken him twice because his class is amazing! He gives out so much extra credit and gives study guide identical to the test. He truly wants you do well in his class, he does make it mandatory but usually ends early. He is also very funny.
The material isnt that hard because he makes you understand! He gives class activities and iclicker bonus points . Attendance is MANDATORY! The only way you get extra bonus points . He lets you make cheat sheets for the exams. Made Bs on the first 2 exams and failed the final and I still Ended the class with an A because of extra credit points!
hilarious man. made me enjoy stat. lots of homework helps you pass if you dont do well on tests. tests were straightforward. love this man. so pure.
Attendance is mandatory so don't expect to be skipping this class (random activities given out and can't be made up) but he does drop some and gives so much extra credit. iclicker is all bonus points and is half a letter grade at the end of the semester. He lets you have a front and back cheat sheet for every exam. You can't really fail this class
Mr. Odero is a great professor. He offers lots of extra credit and as long as you show up and do your homework you will get an A. Tests are extremely easy and identical to study guides.
LOVED his class. He wrote his own fill in the blank notes for you to use. Checks attendance randomly. Exams are way easier than the study guides. Funny guy, will remember you by name after any sort of interaction. Does not except late work. Final exam optional to replace lowest grade/ missed exam. Lets class out early most days.
Such a good professor. Not a lot of homework. Randomly checks attendance for extra credit. Final is optional if you missed an exam or want to replace your lowest grade. So caring and funny
Professor Odero was one of the best professors I have had. He was very funny and tried to keep the class interested as much as possible. The work in the class was not difficult at all and neither were the exams. He does not, however, tolerate phones during class and will call you out if you do use it. Overall, amazing professor and an easy A.
Odero has a strong accent but you get used to it. He makes lots of funny jokes and makes the class very easy. HW and quiz each week but just a few questions. Don't get on your phone, he will call you out. Gives study guides that look just like the exams.
He is really funny, tries to make everything easy for everyone so we all pass. Make sure you're not caught on your phone or he will call you out. He tries to make class enjoyable and succeeds. Friday classes are normally short, b/c he understands everyone wants to leave. He make sure to cover all the material needed & study guides are like exam.
This class is an easy A if you show up. He gives a significant amount of bonus points towards each exam. Professor Odero's teaching style is essentially reading the notes word for word off of the slides. If you don't consider yourself a statistics person, definitely take his class. He wants you to do well.
Made stats more fun and interesting. The class isn't super difficult, but there aren't a lot of grades, so missing a homework can hurt your grade.
Odero's class is easy as long as you go to class and complete the homework. Lots of extra credit offered. His lectures were surprisingly engaging for a stats class. Def recommend if you need a stats credit.
Professor Odero is an amazing professor. He is so helpful and very clear about the material on the exam. He also gives a study guide that is just like the exam and helps you fill it out. Lots of bonus points! Take him if you can!
Prof. Odero was overall a good professor. I think he tries to scare you with his welcome email, but if you took Stats in high school Stat110 you'll be fine. Also the final is optional if you have a decent enough grade in the class. He is a bit hard to reach outside of the class period. The only "issue" I had was hearing through his thick accent.
This professor had a deep accent, so he was a little hard to understand. He gives tons of extra credit for showing up to class and iclicker points. All of his exams are multiple choice and very easy compared to other stats courses I have taken in the past. He also lets class out early most days which was great.
This is the second class I have taken with Odero and I would never dare take another professor. I am terrible at math and have received an A in 110 and 205 with no struggle. He gives so much extra credit all you have to do is go to class to get it. If you aren't great at math, this is the professor for you. TAKE HIM!
Great professor, I'm terrible at math but he was a great teacher and gave out tons of extra credit. He also is quite funny. Would highly recommend.
Profess Odero is an amazing man! He is very caring and wants the best for you. You are able to receive a ton of extra credit throughout the course. The class isn't too difficult as long as you go to class, do the homework, and study the study guide. 100% recommend taking him.
Professor Odero is a great stat teacher overall. He takes attendance with iclicker and likes to make sure you arent on your phone and are paying attention. he wants students to understand the material. He is very funny but his accent can be hard to understand at times. I would very much recommend.
He's amazing! He gets upset when people do not pay attention, but he tries his best to make the lectures interesting. When you need help he will sit down and figure it out with you and he responds quickly. He really wants you to succeed, and wants everyone to get an A, he curves on stop of extra credit. He's the best and is definitely worth taking.
It took some getting used to his thick accent, but you get used to it and it is easier to understand him. He prepares us well for exams and gives us study guides. He also gives so much extra credit, it is almost impossible to fail. I enjoyed him
This is my second stat class taken with professor Odero and I could not recommend him enough! His lectures are straight forward and his tests are very similar to the study guide. He gives tons of extra credit and cares a lot about the success of his students! Take him!
He's super nice and all his classes are lecture, the attendance isn't mandatory but he gives bonus points for going. If you took AP stats in high school this class is super easy. Very basic stats class.
I love him! Coming from someone who's almost failed every math class they've ever taken. His tests are very similar to the class notes. He cares about attendance and paying attention but if you put a little effort in you will do just fine or excel. Good extra credit. He is very funny and makes jokes about his African village. Take him!!!!
Gives out tons of bonus points, is very funny and goes on prodigious rants, the tests are hard in my opinion coming from a person who is not the best at math. Overall he is a very nice guy
I have never taken a stats class before but I did great in this one. Homework is easy to complete and the tests aren't bad at all. Textbook is NOT required. Everything is in his lectures so take good notes and do the homework before the tests and you'll be fine. He gives a ton of bonus points to help you out. He's also funny and blunt.
Very easy to pass if you attend class and complete all the homework. Tests are easy if you know at least the basics of the material.
Best teacher ever! So funny! As long as you attend his class you will pass with flying colors. He is so kind and gives out so much extra credit. I recommend him 110%
Very easy class, material is the same as a HS stats class. Odero is VERY strict on attendance and is not understanding about absences. He gives lots of extra credit. Be prepared to buy an Iclicker subscription, but the textbook is useless.
I enjoyed Professor Odero's STAT-110 class. He was very nice and funny with his lectures, making an 8:30 class very fun and his humor motivated me to get up early for his class. Show up, take your notes, do your homework, study for his tests (3) and you will pass; just do not forget a pencil on test days.
Mr. Odero class is quite easy to pass, it's important that you attend his classes, and print out the guided notes that's provided in blackboard along with doing the homework on time. He would respond to my questions after class or my email either way 4.7/5 really good class would take again.
Mr. Odero class is quite easy to pass, it's important that you attend his classes, and print out the guided notes that's provided in blackboard along with doing the homework on time. He would respond to my questions after class or my email either way 4.7/5 really good class.
He was a great professor and you can get by not buying the textbook. He uses lecture notes and usually lets you out early most of the time. Gives so many extra credit opportunities some you get for just showing up. He is also always making jokes and cares about students. Everything on the study guide is exactly like the tests. Would recommend!!
Odero gives tons of extra credit opportunities, and wants everyone to pass his class. The study guides are like the exams. As long as you show up to class, do the homework, take notes, and do the study guide, you will get an A. He is bit too honest and rude from time to time, but aside from him as a person, he's a good professor and you will pass.
I've never liked math, nor have I ever been good at it, but Professor Odero made it so much easier for me to understand. Really cool guy and very funny. He's a bit uptight about being on your phone, so I didn't get on my phone outside of his participation questions. If I had to take any extra stats classes, I would take him again for sure.
To be quite honest I didn't learn much from Odero's teaching style, but it is so easy to get an A. Open note exams and around 12 points offered for extra credit to your whole grade. He loves his students but he will definitely call you out if your on your phone. Attendance is mandatory bc it counts towards your grade & he gives in class activities
Class is let out early consistently. Extra credit is given for attendance on unannounced days. I got 16 extra points on an exam just for going to class the week of Thanksgiving. Print the notes, do not buy the textbook. He joked with us a lot and we got to know each other well mostly because I sat right in front of him. Sit in the front!
Its not that he wasn't a nice professor, because he was, but this class was very difficult to pass. Exams/tests were terrifying. You have to leave all materials including backpacks at the front and if you fail to make it, there are no retake dates at any point, no negotiating. Many core classes are open note but not this one. Dropped my GPA.
Prof. Odero is a great professor. He teaches so we understand. He gives great notes that he goes over each class and we fill in the blanks on the notes. There is hw online every chapter or so. 3 exams, with an optional final. He gives a review for each exam which is helpful. TAKE HIM
He says you need the textbook (you don't) the test consist of material from the lectures and the few homework he assigns. I would recommend printing the textures out because then all you have to do is fill in the blanks. he grades on test, homework, attendance, and I clicker. the I clicker can only enhance your grade. GIVES LOTS OF EXTRA CREDIT.
attendance is mandatory and it counts towards your grade. he uses clicker but will do paper attendance for extra credit throughout the semester. He makes a lot of the questions on the test the same as the homework/ notes. Lots of opportunity for extra credit through the syllabus and at end of the year. Test are 25 questions multiple choice.
Odero offers a lot of extra credit opportunities as long as you show up to class. He is a stickler for being on your phone and his tests are pretty difficult, but he is a nice and funny guy.
Such a sweet, funny man. Professor Odero is a caring professor. His lectures are a bit challenging because he talks extremely fast, but he explains it in a way that makes sense. Exams are challenging but he gives a big study guide that he goes over in class and gives SO much extra credit throughout the semester.
He is a cool guy but I feel like he doesn't give enough test prep. Gives a ton of extra credit so it is important to take advantage of going to class!!
He is very sweet and does not like when you are on ur phone in class but he can be very unclear at times. I asked him to help me calculate my grade and I left even more confused. He is probably the easiest statistics professor but be prepared to do the work outside class.
He makes it hard to fail his class. You HAVE to show up to lectures and follow along with the notes to do well. He give random bonus points for your average and for exams. I got 30 bonus points on my last test just for showing up to class. If you do well enough, the final is optional. Homeworks are easy enough (use notes). He is funny and kind.
Professor Odero was so awesome! It is genuinely difficult to get below an A in his class, as long as you go to the lectures. I highly recommend!
If you hate math and just need the credit, this is the professor to you. Show up, listen to the lectures, take notes, you'll be fine. He's super funny and really does care about his students passing.
Professor Odero was an amazing stats teacher! He really wants his students to pass and gives a lot of extra credit!
Professor Odero was overall good. He is a BIG stickler about no phones and will call you out in front of everyone if he sees you on it in class. He allows for you to have a handwritten cheat sheet on each exam, and even if you don't do great on them, each of the two exams are only 10% of the final grade each.
i am horrible at math and odero helped me a lot outside of the classroom to understand the material, he gives a lot of extra credit to help you pass the class
He has very strong accent, which makes it hard to understand him if you are already struggling with math
He cares about you and if you put in effort he will help if needed but the final was hard. Extra credit helps
His lectures were very confusing and I felt like I had to learn a lot of the content outside of the class. The tests were unnecessarily hard with confusing wording, but you were allowed a handwritten cheat sheet. The homework and quizzes were online and were pretty easy, but nothing like the tests.
Odero is a great prof. He randomly will make attendance worth bonus points that go towards the upcoming exam so don't skip class, the bonus points saved me. The content isn't terrible but he is sometimes hard to understand and moves quickly. The homework was manageable and exams were fine. Taking him again for STAT 201!
Very easy to get an A in. If you go to class you get a lot of bonus points added to your tests. You also are only in class for about 20 minutes before he lets you go. Definitely would take
Odero was a funny guy that really wanted his students to do well. He provided a lot of extra credit for those that did show up to class which ultimately was what helped me do well in the class. His lectures can be hard to follow, especially with his accent, but the notes are very well organized and gives study guides for what will be on the tests.
Odero is very kind and funny; you can tell he truly cares about the success of his students. I am not the best at statistics but the amount of extra credit he offers if you are willing to do basic things is astounding. The class can be difficult if you make it, but it would not be because of Dr. Odero.
I had Odero for an 8:30 and I never missed a class. You never know when he's going to give extra credit and take attendance, so go! It's really not a hard class if you took stat in high school. He is super funny and truly cares about his students. and gives SO much extra credit.
The style of teaching was really boring, but I did learn a lot and his accent was really easy to understand. The class itself was light with the homework being online, but the tests are really hard. Also, show up to class everyday if you want a crazy amount of points added to your next test. Overall, definitely a solid teacher and I recommend.
Odero is funny, smart, and cares about his students. He gives so much extra credit, so go to class. Don't go on your phone during class or he'll single you out. His exams (with cheat sheets) are pretty hard, but the EC balances it out. Online HW/quizzes and you get 2 attempts to complete them. Be respectful/present during class and you'll be fine.
The class itself is not too hard, but he has a very thick accent so it is hard to understand him sometimes. Homework is easy but exams are tough. At first he was very nice and helpful when I had questions, but when my sister died and I missed a week of school, he gave me such a hard time and was rude to me about making up assignments.
Professor Odero is a funny, engaging lecturer who really wants his students to succeed. While the content can be challenging, he provides plenty of bonus points for attendance and offers helpful resources like study guides. I found unstuck ai great for test prep alongside the free textbook.
Im honestly not doing the best in his class right now, but I LOVE taking this class. Odero is very funny and he really knows how to keep his class engaging. He gives so much extra credit, but you do have to be present in class to receive it.
Had him for 110 and he threw boatloads of extra credit on every exam. Took him again for 201 and he does absolutely no extra credit, attendance is taken everyday, and there are random class activities and if you miss them you just get a 0. Honestly would not take him again. The lab on Fridays at 8:30 also sucks. Can't wait for this class to be done
love this class. super easy, especially if you took stats in high school. he gives a BUNCH of extra credit! show up to class and you will do fine. his accent is not really hard to understand, and he is a very funny guy. often lets class go early. gives study guides that actually match with the exam content which is rare!
The content of the course was easy, especially if you have taken statistics prior. He doesn't really do much for you if you are having trouble understanding the content. He just expects you to look at the lecture notes. He doesn't offer any extra credit but he does prepare the class for exams with study guides and class activities.
As someone who struggles with math, I have mixed feelings about Odero. Some positives are that he's a funny guy, the homework is easy, he provides study guides, and he gives lots of extra credit if you show up to class. Some negatives are that the tests are pretty challenging, and his accent can be pretty hard to understand (not his fault though)
Odero is not a horrible professor, however, the class notes he uses and the homework assigned is not reflective of the exams. If he is your only option you will make it through the class, however, it is hard to feel confident from following along in class and you have to spend time outside of class to really understand the material.
worst professor at usc. i missed the first 5 classes this semester due to military. i had sent him an email in the summer to let him know. he ended up giving me 0s (still) for the stuff i missed and gave me a hard time about it. his lectures are not great, as you can barely understand him. take ANYONE else. there is more but i'm out of characters.
i wouldn't recommend him. this is the worst class i have taken. his exams are not like the homework or activities in class. the lab also sucks. i wouldn't choose him, at least not for 201. no extra credit, no curve, no leeway. not a vibe.
Had him for 110 and he was good because he did a lot of extra credit. In 201 he is absolutely awful. No extra credit, no curve, nothing! His exams are unnecessarily hard and he does not want to see his students succeed. I've studied so hard for every exam and never can seem to do well because of his testing style. Do not recommend him at all.
He is the worst. Doesn't care about his students doing well regardless of how hard they are trying. I have put in countless hours of work and studying and can never manage to do well on his exams along with others. Take someone else for 201 not him.
He was a good professor but was kind of hard to understand. Gives SO MUCH extra credit on the exams and does iclicker in class so if you take him you should be ready to show up.
Odero is a great professor. Attendance is mandatory but that's honestly a good thing because you learn so much each class. The exams are hard but as long as you take the lecture notes and study you should be fine. He also gives a ton of extra credit. Try to participate, he gives extra credit even if you answer incorrectly!
Please be aware THE EXAMS ARE 80% of your grade. If you aren't a good test taker do not take this class. Odero is a nice person but I ultimately didn't understand a lot of things he taught because it wasn't explained well he also has a thick accent, which isn't his fault but when you're already struggling in the class you can imagine it's stressful
BE AWARE THE EXAMS ARE WORTH 80% of your grade. Don't take this class if you're not a good test taker. Odero is a nice professor but he doesn't explain things well especially if you have questions. He's Nigerian so his accent is thick and which you can imagine adds to stress when you're already confused.
Had to put way too much effort to do well in this class. Tests are extremely difficult and cover a lot of content. Lots of extra credit opportunities and a lot of homework, however, homework is only worth 20% of your grade. He's a nice guy though and can be understanding.
Reasonable guy. Three options for extra credit that could raise overall grade 7 points. Curved our final grade to help people pass. Hard for people that aren't great at math. Read notes and use study guide. Attendance is extra credit but necessary to pass.
Gives a ton of extra credit and helpful study guides for the exams. Easy to pass even if you're bad at math.
Attendance was mandatory, but he also gave extra credit via iClicker, which you must pay for. At the beginning of the semester, he said that it was mandatory to buy the textbook, but the only thing he used it for was one optional quiz. I had to teach most of myself most of the material since he would just read from the lecture notes.
Professor Odero's lectures are boring and sometimes not helpful, but come test time he tries his best to make sure everyone understands. Labs are on Fridays, very easy just super tedious. Also, there are 10 pop quizzes throughout the semester, but he drops 4 of them. If you need a professor to take, I recommend taking him.
Very easy class even if you're bad at math. He gives study guides for each exam and goes through it thoroughly as the exam approaches. Gives a ton of extra credit. Four exams total but only three are required.
He didn't do a great job of explaining the material. If you have no experience in stats or math is not your strong suit, I wouldn't reccommend him.
One of the worst profs at usc. he's so self centered and doesn't care about his students. I study so much for this class and his exams match NOTHING. He said for there final that the grade we currently had in the class was if we got a 0 on the final but then two days but then two days before the final he switches up and said he misspoke.
He was very helpful during office hours and provided a lot of extra credit for each test. He explained each chapter of the textbook and gave practice problems for a better understanding.
If you show up to class, take notes, and do the homework assignments - this class is an easy A. Provides a ton of extra credit towards exams. Attendance is mandatory and is recorded by iClicker.
If you ask something he kind of makes you feel stupid and does not explain what you did wrong. Come to class though he randomly gave us extra credit for coming to class one day. There is an 830 lab on fridays but it is easy and added to your overall grade in stats.
He rounded my grade up from a B to a B+. Bless
if you're not good at math, i wouldn't recommend taking him. he is sort of degrading and he would change his mind often and i could never take what he said seriously. he'd say one thing and do another. his exams also did NOT reflect the hw and such. i had a bad experience w/ him and contacted the chair and they didn't care either. the worst prof fr
Took him for 110 super easy A, thought 201 would be the same.. It was not, he goes super fast and it makes it hard to learn the material. He doesn't really help answer your question he just makes you feel worse for asking it. Barely any extra credit except for the end of year survey and he only curved one of the tests because everyone failed.
Easy class if you show up, don't take the 8am he's grumpy. iClicker/attendance points go to your grade, he teaches well but has a strong accent. In general, easy A if you read the textbook/go to class. Sometimes he gives 20 points on tests just for going to class- no reason to not pass this. Also recommends you for things if you get to know him!!!!
I did got A but it is very lecture based class and he does go really fast. He gives you study guide but it doesn't really help you. He randomly hands out the classwork which is like a pop quiz but you can still look it up or talk to person next to you. No extra credit. Practice problems don't align with the exam questions.
This guy was SO amazing. If you aren't great at math like myself this is the prof for you!! I took him for a core credit and he offered so much help with extra credit. If you have an overall grade you are satisfied with by finals time then you can exempt the final exam all together. There are 3 midterms that you gotta take tho. I love him!
I had him for the first stats class and he was super sweet so I decided to take him again. Now I am terrible at math so this class was very difficult for me. He gives helpful notes and will always answer your questions. He really cares about his students, just try your best and show up to class and he will work with you.
For this class you definitely need to attend everyday. The attendance is checked based off of location. You need to study very hard. In office hours, he will help you with anything you need. Stay in this class!! I do not know a person who failed because of his curve. He is SO helpful at the end with all the extra points given to your final grade.
not able to understand, petty, sarcastic, does not cover the basics before moving on. 0 out of 10. does not speak clearly
Super sweet professor. Took him for stats 1 and 2. If you are struggling, go to his office hours!!! He will answer your questions and help you. Start to get to know him and he will remember you and help you out. I have no idea how I managed to get a B in both classes so he defiantly curves. Labs are annoying and kinda hard but help your grade out
I thought his class was hilarious and engaging. He told us what we needed to know and not much more. Attendance was for a grade, but as extra credit. I thought the actual test and quizzes themselves were quite hard, but so long as you study hard, it is manageable. I liked him a lot as a person and made me feel very comfortable.
Great professor, organization-wise and teaching-wise. I used to do all the work the first few weeks. If you do struggle with the subject matter he will be helpful he breaks it down. After a while the concepts become intuitive to you.
Professor Odero is a good professor. He cares for his students and wants the best for them. However, his accent makes it difficult to understand him most of the time, and he moves very fast. I found myself re-teaching myself information before exams. He does not give half credit on exams, his study guides do not help, and he provides no feedback.
His accent makes it very hard to understand what he is saying. There are only 8-10 questions on each exam, and he doesn't give half credit, so it's very easy to fail an exam. He can also be passive-aggressive at some points. Quizzes and homework are done online, but there are 12 in-person quizzes randomly assigned after class.
Great professor, one of the classes where attendance makes a world of a difference. He tells you exactly what will be on the exam, and gives study guides almost identical to the exam. Good attendance can get you up to 5-20 bonus points on exam. Definitely need to study material often, but plenty of practice and help is given through hw or in class.
Attendance is a big part of grade and he gives lots of extra credit for having good attendance. Was a tough grader on exams but gives study guides that are based on the exams. Also class activities randomly that are counted for grades so you must attend class. Other than that the class was easy. I made C's on most my exams and got an A in the class
Take him! He is very funny and a great teacher. He gives so much extra credit as long as you show up to class. His accent is not bad so don't let that deter you because he's an awesome teacher. You get a cheat sheet for his exams and the homeworks and in class activities are reasonable. One of my favorite teachers for sure!
Odero wasn't a bad teacher at all, his accent was not hard to understand I don't really get these reviews haha. Very funny and very helpful! Attendance is mandatory but you would want to show up anyway because the notes on the lectures are pretty important in understanding the material. He gave lots of extra credit on the final also!
Odero is a great professor who wants his students to succeed. If you are a good student, take the time to have great attendance, ask and answer questions, and show effort, he will make sure you succeed. He will go as far as to give you as much extra credit as needed to get the grade you want in the class if you speak up.
Odero can be a bit strict about attendance, but if you attend at least 90% of his classes he will make it worth your while. He hands out extra credit left and right and once gave out 20 points of extra credit on the final just for showing up to a specific class. He lets you bring in a cheat sheet (front and back) into every exam! Take Odero!
Dr. Odero was a FANTASTIC professor!! My grade sucks because I am awful at any Math in general. He sent out daily emails/updates and always responded the same day to emails. He is so funny and has a great sense of humor. He has all of the notes that you need for all homework, quizzes and tests, and goes over them in great detail. TAKE HIM!
I can't understand his accent
I love him so much, his class is genuinely so easy if you actually go, he gives so much extra credit just for attending, our last exam I had 25 extra points on my exam
First, cannot understand his accent. Second, starts class early without notice so I missed notes even showing up 5 mins early. Third, he just recites the textbook, doesn't show any tricks and also does not dive into how to actually calculate a problem he just describes it. Last, very fast paced and calls you out for taking pictures of the notes.
Going into the class, I was nervous since I'm not great at math, but Professor Odero is an incredible teacher! He truly cares about his students, and if you follow his notes, attend class, and stay consistent, you'll do great. There's plenty of extra credit, fair homework with two tries, and once you adjust to his accent, he's one of the best!
An amazing teacher, he genuinely cares about his students and wants them to succeed. I struggled to understand his accent and didn't do well because I'm not a good test taker.
Gives a ton of extra credit but you have to buy I clicker to do it. I ended up having 20 points extra credit on all of my 3 exams. However, you get the extra credit for exams from answering textbook questions he gives you to go home and do. Goes fast in lectures and I felt like I taught myself a lot. Plus, he's actually a pretty funny guy.
He is okay. Hard to understand and goes very fast when explaining the notes. However, he does provide tons of extra credit throughout the class. If you attend class and pay attention you should do fine.
He is hard to understand at times but overall a good professor. Make sure you attend classes. Pretty easy class just make sure you keep up with ur work!
MY KING!! Odero gives so much extra credit with iClicker. If you show up to lectures, take notes, and review them, you do well on exams. First math class I've ever done well in.
He is so sweet and always cracking jokes. He moves quickly but is willing to answer questions. TONS of extra credit just for showing up to lectures, so although the tests are difficult the extra credit makes up for it. I would totally take his class again.
I have always hated math and been awful at it, but despite his thick accent, I did so well in this class. He is willing to answer questions, has a lot of clear notes and posts them, and gives SO MUCH extra credit just for showing up. Such a funny guy, I loved him!
The statistics material itself was rather difficult but he gives SO many extra credit opportunities that it absolutely makes up for it. Simply attending class earns you extra credit points. Plus Odero is super funny and genuinely cares about his students and their success in his class. Please take him!!!!!!
Very cool professor, is very caring. He gives out lots of extra credit as well. Also actually a pretty funny guy.
As long as you pay attention in the lectures and do the study guides, you'll do fine. He gives at least 20 extra credit points for each exam and sometimes gives extra credit for answering questions or just showing up. But if you aren't paying attention, be prepared to get called out in front of the entire 200-person lecture hall.
For math 111: Easiest math class I've ever taken. He posts practice quizzes and tests before class, and they are basically identical in content to the real things. Just review, and you should have an easy A. Note: he really hates when people are on their phone or not paying attention and will call you out.
Fire alarm went off for 10 minutes during a test and he kept us in the room and made us keep working until a firefighter came in and told us to leave. The class was HARD, and he didn't make it any better. He has a STRONG African accent and writes 100mph. He does give a lot of extra credit which helped a LOT for the tests. 0/10 experience
Very funny, but at least for me, the exams were sooooo much harder than what we learned in lectures/did on homework. He also started rushing through lectures about halfway through the semester. It may be different for me cuz im neurodivergent, but proceed with caution.
This class was kinda easy. He does rush through his lectures, though and has a very thick accent. He is very funny though and he offers a lot of extra credit. To be honest, I had to teach myself the material after class but you can tell how much he really does try to get us to understand.
I absolutely loved this guy. If you're not good at math don't sweat because he explains everything very well and he even gives extra credit for the the questions you answer in class. At the end of the semester keep going even after he stops taking attendance it will help you a lot for the last exam.
He was a great professor. It was easy to meet him during his office hours; he gave practice tests and lots of extra credit. I just couldn't understand his accent.
Odero is honestly great. The course has 3 exams and a bunch of little homework assignments, but it honestly is not hard at all. He also gives a ton of extra credit.
Lots of extra credit. If you go to class and study a bit, you will get a 100. If you plan on skipping, don't take him. His accent is fairly easy to understand, and he tells jokes sometimes. Nice guy, easy class.
BEST PROF! Gives 20 pts EC toward each exam, show up to class to get the points. I got a 100 on all the exams so I dont have to take the optional 4th exam. If you show up, study a little bit, you'll get an A. He's the easiest prof and so nice. He responds fast to emails and grades quick. Sometimes took paper attendance don't skip(practice exams)
The easiest math class I've taken in college, and I transferred from a community college! Odero is great, he's funny, and gives out so much extra credit, it's actually insane! If you just attend class, you will have no problem at all!
His accent can be very difficult to understand so I recommend sitting close to the front. Heavy on lectures, and HATES when any noise is made. Exams are in person but a ton of extra credit is offered beforehand, and you only have to take 3 out of the 4. You MUST show up to class. Uses the book questions for extra credit points.
As someone who has never really been good at math, Odero made it very easy to succeed in his class. Super funny guy, accent intimidating at first but you get used to it. LOVES to give extra credit whenever and clearly cares about his students. Definitely go to class, iClicker points help a lot and u don't have to buy the text book.
He makes it really hard to fail the class, he gives so much extra points! All you have to do is show up to class.
He does have an accent, but if you sit toward the front and pay attention you will be fine. Make sure to take notes during lecture. He gives lots of extra credit on exams. You will need to review outside of class.
He does have and accent but overall he was super funny during his lectures and really cares for his students. There is a lot of extra credit opportunities, for exams just make sure to take notes during lectures and then study outside of class. Overall I would take this class again
Definitely out of pocket but offers iClicker quizzes for extra credit on exams. He takes attendance every class on iClicker but his class goes by fast.
Very nice man, but not the best at communicating material. Attendance was mandatory and taken through iClicker, where he also does man in class questions. These go towards bonus points, as well as homeworks. Honestly, if you go to class and do your work, you will pass, he is very generous with extra credit.
Profesor Odero is super funny and his class was super easy. It is almost impossible to not get a good grade in this class- he allows multiple attempts on homework, lots of extra credit, and the final is optional and will replace an exam grade. He takes attendance, but his lectures typically got out almost 30 minutes early every time. Take him!
Great stat professor, really knew what he was teaching and explained the content well, his accent isn't hard to understand as long as you pay attention. Gives out so much extra credit and is the homework and exams aren't hard as long as you pay attention in class and study. Optional final exam to replace a bad exam grade. Take him if you can!!
Professor Odero was great! He was hilarious and always made lectures engaging. Before every test and quiz he would always post a practice that was almost identical to them. There was one homework pretty much every week, and also gave out extra credit and helped you out if you had good attendance. Take him!!
Genuinely such a good teacher. He's so funny and engaging . Gives soo much extra credit and cares about his students passing. Although there is a textbook you can get away without purchasing it . Easy homework's and 3 midterms. Final exam is optional. TAKE HIM.
I really loved his class. Such a funny guy, do not be discouraged by his accent. It's really not that hard to understand. Be kind, pay, attention and you'll pass with an A easily.
He was a great professor, though I understand all the comments about his accent. He posted every single lecture slide and provided test guides for every test. If you payed attention to the lecture, did the weekly homework, and studied slightly you will do fine. Be sure to go to class because he offers a lot of extra credit!!
He gives so much extra credit. It's nearly impossible to fail his class. He is a great professor and is super funny in his lectures. If you have questions, he will stay after class to help you understand the material.
Although Mr. Odero has a thick Kenyan accent, I honestly believe it made me understand math in an odd way. You definitely have to pay attention to fully understand what he is saying but he truly wants his entire class to pass. There is so many extra credit opportunities. He takes daily attendance, and I used my textbook maybe 4 times.
He gives soooo much extra credit. I finished with a 100 because there is a syllabus extra credit for 3% and a survey for 4% extra credit. Each exam you can get up to like 20 points of extra credit, plus the. notes are all fill in the blank, and if you go to class and do the hw you will do well on exams. The accent was only bad the first like 2 wks.
He has a very strong accent and writes super fast and sloppy so you won't even know what he said or wrote either
Loved this course. Lecture heavy and homeworks weekly but are helpful for exams. I highly recommend this course to those who find math challenging.
