Excellent teacher, wonderful insights. He often pokes fun of himself for not speaking the best English.
He jokes around in class but in his office, he's very sarcastic and kind of mean.
What a jerk. This guy is a **** professor at Bloomsburg University. This man should be kicked out of the University and sent back to Ghana where he came from. This guy has no clue about common courtesy.

Very rude and hard to understand. Sometimes he is just down right mean! But the class is not impossible.
Good ol' George is the best teacher around.
sucked
First off his accent is very unclear. But that is workable his test, however, are not. The are very poorly worded and difficult to study for, and he rarley expalins the way he grades thing.

He is a great prof!

He was a nice man, helped me with pulling up my grade. He is there to help you, not to hurt you.
he tells you what chapters will be on each test so it's easy to study and you will do fine if you do this, go to class, and stay off his bad side!

How could anyone not like him. F*$k...he practicly escaped from the planes of africa. Hes great and one of the most respectable man ive met.
He's pretty easy, you just have to pay attention and take notes.
Great teacher
Good Prof! Espically when he goes to Africa or conferences at least once a month for a week!
Hard to understand sometimes but its not his fault. He's a good prof if you show up and pay attention. He can be funny at times.
all around good teacher, and he is pretty funny
Natioans, States and Govs was the worst class. I learned nothing, He cancelled it all the time. He bullied you, he threw chalk at people, he's arrogant and rude.
Very knowlegeable, funny and easy to work with. I highly recommend him.
Dr. Agbongo is a great professor. Don't give him a reason to bust your stones, he is not afraid to make a joke at your expense....which is why he kicks ass. "Did you read my book?"
Best teacher i've had at Bloomsburg. He has great stories with everything he teaches. He's experienced in politics as he was very high up in the Ghanan government. Unlike most teachers, he knows what he's talking about and doesn't force only one side of an issue and leave the other out in the wind. Take his 6-9's because he won't keep you the whole time and won't make it to all the classes.
Great man...
Excellent prof if yyou're interested...lousy if you're looking for an easy A. this guy has been there, knows his****, and will require you know your**** too. Awesome, challenging prof. you will learn things you didn't even know existed.
George is a good professor and really has a good nack at delivering information. The only problem for me is that he has a very thick accent being from Ghana.

Agbango is a really great prof. He ha sa lot of knowledge to share and he knows his stuff.
Very demanding professor. A little hard to understand at times...but you will learn a great deal. Excellent life stories...Awesome professor.
this guy is awsome, if you go to class all teh time and dont do good on the test go see him and he will hook up your grade! HE ROCKS
Great class!
Dr. Agbango is a good teacher and really funny. His grading is really unfair, and i think he takes off points whenever he feels like it. If your interested in the civil rights movement take this class because it's all he talks about.
great professor you really learn...need to listen b/c of accent but he is a good guy with a background that is inpecable
He was so wonderful, explained everything great, and was even funny
I have to say Agbango made it a pretty interesting class. He was funny and a great prof. Despite him throwing chalk and it being such an early class, it was a great class. We got to drop our worse graded quiz and had enough points and extra credit to move around with.
I had Dr. Agbango for every class he teaches. He is one of the few teachers on this campus that can teach through his past experience (Ghana government). He can be tough at times but as long as you take notes and participate now and again you will get an easy B. Just DON'T GET ON HIS BAD SIDE!!! Viva la Agbango
Dr. Abango, besides being late to every class, was not very clear as to what he expected us to know on a test. One time in particular he told us what to study and when it came time to take the test, nothing he had indicated would be on it, was.
seemed interested in his lecture
probably the worst professor ive ever had, didnt go over anything that was on the tests, was late 10 minutes late for class every day, cancelled way to many classes and still expected you to know the material that was supposed to be covered that day, also is very short with you and rude to you when you visit him during office hours
I've taken most of his classes. I've enjoyed every one and learned a lot of information that has carried with me. Save your notes if you are taking more then one Pub. Admin. class. In higher level classes he gives you the ques. for the tests ahead of time. Attend class unless you have an excellent reason to miss. Funny and brilliant man.
the guy freaks out if you leave class and he makes a big drama ordeal out of it, this sint high school bro, other than that its a decent class, hard to understand him tho, he gets worked up at times too, the kind of guy who knows more than you, lol.
I hated this class, you could study and still do bad. The only thing that saved me was the papers you had to write. Also, he flips out about random things.
his accent can get in the way of teaching and i dont like how he is late all the time but i like his jokes.
He was extremely nice to me personally, but he seems to be completely clueless to whether a student is really trying or not. He would randomly flip out at people when there was no reason for it.
I had him years ago and he was one of the best professors ever. He pushed you if needed and let you run with it if you were headed in the right direction. Some of the discipline he tries to teach is understood more once you get older and reflect. You aren't allowed to sleep through work, so he wouldn't let you sleep through class. Great guy!
this guy is the man! picks on certain ppl at times though. if you dont like politics it might be tough. overall cool guy and he's funny!
Funny teacher, can be a bit cocky at times, but class is interesting. I learned a lot from this class, it was definitely worth taking. The tests were easy. The answers came straight from the book and vocab. Assignments were also very easy.
Agbango's just as interested -if not more - in appearing "professorial" as he is in actual teaching. He's likely here because he helps Bloom meet a govenrment required quota.
One of the best professors at bloom. This is my second semester taking him and I absolutely love him. He knows what he is teaching and if you?re interested in poli sci take him. His tests are a bit hard but if you pay attention in class you?ll do fine. He is very open to helping students.
NOT the one to learn poli-sci from.
Class was pretty boring, but relatively easy if you read the textbook. Professor Agbango is at times hard to understand with his thick African accent however he is a decent teacher. He knows what he is talking about and is able to help you if needed.
Class is boring, but if you pay attention and take good notes you will walk out with at least a B+
As long as you do your work and study the class is pretty easy. He is a little hard to understand at times. Dont fall asleep or he will throw chalk at you.
One of the brightest men I have ever met. Take his class.
I Have taken four classes with Dr. Agbango. He expects a lot from his students. If you give him the work he wants then you will definitely take a lot out of his classes. Extremely knowledgeable and a great guy. Definitely recommend this prof!
Agbango is the best! He gives extra credit opportunities and as long as you put in the work you will get an A. Lots of note taking but fairly easy to study for test from.
He puts stuff on the test you dont go over in class. He expects you to read about everything and somehow know everything about the topic. He's closed minded, unintelligent, and yelled at me for questioning what he put on the test.
I thought I'd like it but he's really hard to understand with his accent. He expects you to know a lot. I wouldn't take it, unless you are a poli sci major. I am a student who actually attends every day and do well in every other class. His tests include questions he doesn't talk about. Just not worth a gen ed.
Mixed emotions about the class. Received an A, but I'm not sure if it was because I studied or just knew a lot prior to the class. Random questions will definitely show up on the exams and. Doesn't require a lot of outside work, but expect to be frustrated at times. Two quizzes, a midterm, and a final make up the grades. Too difficult for a 101.
Not very good. Tries to act like some sort of a foreign 'ambassador' which causes students to just roll their eyes. Not regarded very well within the department.
Dr. Agbango didn't cover much of what was in the text book, I wish he had because the book actually discussed elements of political science whereas he used abstract real world examples in class. He would get extremely irritated when students didn't understand his concepts and called them dunces, threw chalk, talked down to them. Not worth it.
Dr Agbango is a very funny man at first and very charming but he has done many things to upset me. He called me out in front of the whole class and embarrassed me for something that was out of my control. He also calls students stupid/other bad names along those lines.. Also, very unclear grading material. DO NOT TAKE HIM... Thank me later.
Was a very generous professor whenever it came to giving out extra credit and making sure you would pass. If you come to class everyday, he does everything he can to give you the grade you deserve. Also, must pay attention in his lectures and really study the notes. He gives very clear, specific study guides.
Agbango is an excellent professor, but you will have to show up and work for your grade. I've had two classes with him, and can confirm his consistency - as long as you go as in-depth as possible on his assignments, you'll do fine.
Great professor
There may be a few questions of a quiz/test that is actually in the textbook. Otherwise he throws a bunch of random questions that he didn't talk about because he assumes you know it already. Hes's been called out on it several times. DO NOT TAKE HIM.
Dr. Agbango is the man, he really cares a lot about his students and expects the absolute best from us. He sometimes get frustrated when students do not give their best work. If you pay attention in class, participate and actually show up to every class, any class with Agbango should be a breeze. You will also learn that he loves Chinese food.
I have not used the book yet and it's the end of October. There's group work that doesn't do anything to help us or teach us about the curriculum. I can't understand most of what he's saying. I don't recommend this prof.
Professor Agbango is a funny guy just don't make him mad. Be prepared to take a lot of notes. Grade is based on 3 "quizes" a midterm and a final, however he does give extra credit. Go to class and pay attention and it's an easy grade. Says you need the book and need to read it, I bought the book and used it once.
First and foremost, he mumbles when he speaks. The whole room will be quiet but he insists on mumbling. Hes also called students out for very petty things, like not hearing their name called when he mumbled it. Hes called people stupid and talked down to them. He gets easily frustrated. Also when he makes jokes, they really arent that funny.
He's a nice guy that loves to talk, but the class itself is pretty easy. Attendance is not necessarily mandatory, but he gives extra credit if you're in class often. He tends to get off topic a lot, but some days he tries his best to get through the material. However, he'll sometime throw questions on the exams from material we haven't learned yet
WORST professor I have ever taken. Hes extremely rude to students. Our whole class failed an exam and he blamed us. Saying were not doing good enough and called us stupid. Not even exaggerating, he called us stupid. We even signed a petition to give to the board to have him change his grading techniques. DONT TAKE HIM.
Very good professor! I'm taking him right now as an online winter class! If you are looking for general education points, take him for polisci101 online!
Professor Agbango was not a very bad professor. The class he taught did not peak my interest, but I was able to get through just fine. His accent is a little hard to get by. Attending class is a MUST if you want to pass. He'll talk about a lot in class that you won't get from the powerpoints he posts. I didn't touch the book and got out good
Really nice guy but it can be hard to understand him because of his thick accent. Go to his classes/zooms and you all be completely fine. Class Mon-Thurs and quizzes on the material talked about every Friday. He cares about his students and clearly has a passion for teaching. He will give extra points for participation and calls on random people.
Hes a nice and caring professional
most boring long-drawn-out classes of your life will make you sit for ten-minute break before continuing instead of just finishing the lecture, speaks so soft, has very long pauses when he speaks. his syllabus is not what it seems sometimes the quiz he has listed to expect in class is multiple take-home essays, not a quiz which students expected.
He is quiet and has a heavy accent. He takes attendance which can help your grade in the end(bonus). Although the classes are pointless because he reads from the slides that he posts in bolt. Also many of the questions on the quizzes and exams were discussed in class. This class was hard for me so I went to his office hours and he was no help.
Dr. Agbango is a nice guy and his class was pretty easy. I read about one chapter in the textbook and then didn't use it the rest of the class. His lectures are detailed and there was only 1 midterm, 2 online multiple choice tests, and the final. The midterm and final were written questions and if you pay attention to his lectures, it will be easy.
He has a heavy accent but is very nice. The textbook isn't required to pass the class. Attendance isn't mandatory even though he raises your grade a full letter grade in the end if you hadn't middles more than 2 classes. I would not take him again because of how much I struggled with his accent and his tone of voice was very low like a whisper.
Dr. Agbango is a great professor that cares about his students. He always encourages you to ask questions and to participate in discussions. All of the lecture notes are posted on Brightspace. Attendance isn't mandatory but there is a sign-in sheet and some of the material covered in class is not on the online notes.
He's very quiet and hard to understand. Ultimately a smart guy, but very unhelpful if a problem were to occur (I would know). Easy amount of work, but each quiz/test had multiple questions that weren't even discussed or mentioned in the textbook.
Cared greatly for his students but got information wrong in lectures and was defensive when told he was wrong thinking his education was being questioned. Thought world leaders from 5 years ago were still in power. I saw him a month ago in the hall bending down his face inches away reading an aed for ten minutes, he's pretty old I was worried.
if you can avoid in person classes, I would. our class did so poorly on the first two tests, he ended up giving all tests forward online. he blamed this on us however his lectures are so bland he didn't realize it's his fault. he is rude also to students and does not like to be told he is wrong even if it's very obvious. very minimal grades.
A mess. He is hard to hear when speaking, his lectures are a snoozefest, informal structure of grading (test were hand-written [the class failed], then paper, then online), weird towards female students, and has an attitude, building a fearful class atmosphere. Throughout my time, Dr. Agbango never interacted with me. Mind you, a 300 level course.
