fair professor, doesn't ask for too much

excellent professor.

interesting and mostly fun class. prof knows his stuff, and is helpful. a lot of work and homework required but not painful. tests are difficult unless you remember everything you learned; show up to all classes, pay attention. will learn a lot if you are interested.

professor allen is a very good professor and he really knows his stuff

rather easy class. there was alot of lab work but once you finished you went home. tests were kinda hard. it was alot to know but i got D's on the tests and still past the class with a b so overall grading system is in your benefit. I think he was a great teacher. Funny in his own little way.

covers alot of material but tries to his best at making the work fun and has a great sense of humor. he will review anything you want. a great prof!

Prof. Allen has an easy going personality. He makes his class atmosphere light and humorous. All science classes require you to study and do homework. If you are willing to do the work, you will be fine and he is alwys there to help. If you do not want to work, then I guess you will be one of those crying babies at the end of the semester.

He's a good professor. I had him for lab. Do the pre/post labs, study the structural models, and you'll do great! It's a science class so it requires a lot of effort but if you take out time for it, you will def pass. He's also extremely helpful and a fair grader.

Extremely knowledgeable individual, he really knows his stuff. This professor will answer any question to the best of his ability. Yes, you do have to study your notes if you want to pass. This class really gets into details. Oh and he's very fair when grading, you get what you earn.

Extremely knowledgeable. Not an easy "A" but you get what you earned. He has really in-depth lectures- you'll learn a lot and hes willing to clarify anything for you. Study your notes early and often and you'll pass. Definitely take him if you want to learn a lot!

OH he is not that hard.he's not easy but as long as you study the notes (he gives notes on the board)you'll be fine.Maybe if you had a weak bio base in HS you shouldn't take him.Tests can be tricky.But if you like bio and wanna be a bio major I see no reason why you shouldn't take his class.lots of prelabs and postlabs but they are easy.Good prof.

Professor Allen is very nice. Although lecture can be hard, his test's should come to no surprise. His tests are based on the notes he gives in class. Lab was very interesting and not boring. Biology major's should definitely take him.

I had professor allen for heredity and evolution. This man is awesome I dont know what everyone is talking about that give him low grades on this website, but he will help you through anything and will try his best to make sure you pass. Extremely enthusiastic about his subject. Knows a LOT more than we do and I think he sometimes finds it difficult to explain things to students who are learning. Read the textbook and follow his notes to pass the tests - not "easy" tests, you (I) need to study!

Do you have to work hard? Yes,you do. Is it impossible to get a good grade? No, it is not.

Very intelligent professor who cares about the subject. If you have a question or need clarification, no problem. He does give a ton of notes but that is a blessing in disguise come test time. Labs are interesting (and I am a non-science major) and challenging but help to illustrate what is being taught. My B+ was right on the mark.

This class was OK. He posts all lecture and lab notes on campus cruiser incase we are absent or incase we missed something on our notes. He loves talking and helping his students. Tests are tricky, but passable.

This professor was good overall. As long as you study(read his lectures and the textbook and understand the material) while sticking to the exam review papers he gives- YOU WILL PASS!!!

He is a really nice guy. He seems to know his material really well and is thrilled to be teaching it, which is nice because that makes me thrilled to learn it. All he wants to do is help. It is a class to study for, but there is no reason to not get a good grade if you just do the work.

He is a fantastic professor. No, he is not going to give you an A if you dont do anything, but he is fair in his grading, and does everything in his power to help. He makes the material fun, and his intelligence is a fantastic help. A great guy, and a great professor- if you didnt take him youre missing out.

i had him for bio2, because i breezed through bio 1 i didnt try that hard in the biginning but that was a mistake. i ended up with a B, which could have been an A is i put the effort into it the whole time, its not to hard you just have to read the books and the notes he puts online and your notes

This guy is awesome. his pre&postlabs will help ur grade so much so do them good. quizzes every lab are very easy. His test are challenging but overall i've learned so much from him. would retake him. not an easy "A" prof but if u put ur head into it it'll be a very fun n interesting course

He's not an easy professor but if you study and pay attention you'll get a good grade. Weird sense of humor, very clear in his notes, very helpful will answer any questions you have. Overall I loved him and would take him again, anytime.

DO NOT TAKE HIM! He makes this class harder than it needs to be. I will give him credit that he will always meet for extra help but that help doesn't get you a better grade on exams. I missed the final bc I was in the hospital and he wouldn't let me make it up bc he said it was pointless, that I would fail anyway. STAY AWAY FROM HIM!

Awesome Prof, It is my second time taking Bio 2 with him, as i didnt do well the first time. He is helpful, would help you out, after class and when he has office hours. Make sure you attend every class and understand material not memorize it. Use all your lab time, will help you on lab practicals. Ask him questions if you dont understand.

I really like him. He knows his stuff and can answer any question you throw at him + Truly cares about students and encourages questions. Tests are SUPER hard and require ALOT of studying but there are alot of grades in the class to get your grade up. Although its hard to get an A, you realy learn alot from him. Requires hard work but worth it.

If you want a free A, he's not your man. You will have to do the work, the labs, the paper, the presentation, and study for the tests. No surprises, he outlines everything that is expected of you, and is more than willing to offer extra help if needed. Again, if you want a free ride, continue shopping for a different professor.

FONT TAKE THIS TEACHER! OK honestly he is pretty clear in classmates bio 2 concepts eay to understand which is great an a lot of information will stick with you after class, BUT FONT BE FOOLED BY. THAT! You can study the notes he has online hitch is everything he talks about in class but his tests are so stupidly hard and his quizzes suck! AVOID!!!

Good Professor

He is a great professor. He teaches well. He answers all questions. Super nice and has a good personality. His tests are really hard, but if you study enough you'll do fine. He also likes to use big fancy words, so if you aren't sure of something always ask. He will always help you out, especially in lab with dissecting.

The reality is that if you want to do well in upper level course-- you'll want a professor who is willing to challenge you in your pre-reqs. This man can answer pretty much any question you have, and is FAIR1. Don't expect a class you can sleep in and still get an A. This isn't high school. WAKE UP. Professor Allen is excellent.

Prof Allen is an amazing professor. He has a great sense of humor and does a great job of teaching the material. His exams can be difficult if you aren't prepared. However, you need to realize that biology is not easy and you need to work for a good grade. If you study hard and pay attention in class you should do just fine.

Great Professor is interested in what he teaches and is always happy to talk to you after class or give pointers. Tests can be difficult but he does go over everything on them. Labs are a blast and were always interesting.

Hes so nice and his class is easy to understand if you simply listen. Hes direct on giving you tips on improving your grade and gives you the exact information hes looking for. He isnt out trying to make things difficult for you to understand or tries to make you figure things out for yourself if you dont understand/lost.

Dr. Allen is the best. All you have to do is your homework (1 2 sided page a week), show up to class, 3 exams (which there are study guides for), and 1 final project which is done mainly in class. He will answer any question you have and he will check your labs before you hand them in! He is a genius and made me want to change my major from English

Prof. Allen is a brilliant guy, has a PhD in microbiology but knows all fields of bio at a genius level. Very fun to have conversations with and learn from; as long as you pick his brain you will definitely do a lot of learning. Also has a great sense of humor which always makes learning tough material enjoyable. Would definitely take him again.

One of the best professors I have ever had, hands down. If he was able, he would always took the time to answer any and all questions his students. Not only that but he was an amazing lecturer and had no issues repeating himself or going into a topic further. I loved every class and had a great time in every lecture.

To really grasp the complex concepts of this class, participation and application is key. Bio 124 challenged and explored my insight on how living things work and I give Prof Allen a 5 since he explains everything so well and takes the time to answer any questions. He makes this class so fun but only with a two way street. Nicest guy I ever met.

He is very funny, to the point and explains things in a simple matter. Although you gotta put in work and study. This is no free A but if you're a bio major then this is your man!

Prof. George Allen is just an amazing man overall! You can ask him any question and he will answer with excruciating detail. He is a very kind and caring person but prepare to study for his lecture exams and lab practicals. Definitely not an easy A, or easy B for the matter.

Professor Allen was a great professor. I had a personal issue going out throughout the semester and he was understanding. He gives you honest feedback when he grades labs and you just need to study the power points and labs in order to do good on exams.

All in all fair prof, you really do get out of this whatever you put in. Very understanding, and ridiculously smart. This class was VERY hard so don't mess around. But nothing is there to trick you. Whatever he shows you is whatever you're going to see. Not an easy A, but fair. I respect the man so much.

Professor Allen is very knowledgeable, strict and organized. Never be late or absent bcs 25 points off. Some Exams (multiple option) are tough: 40 questions plus 10 extra credit. Study PPTs well in advance and hard. Labs are helpful, but the class can feel overwhelming for non-science majors. If it's just a requirement, consider another professor.
