He is slow and sometimes boring, but is very smart and has a very "no BS" way of teaching. Basically we had one writing assignment a week but they were all personal narrative or require a little research for. I did all my essays (six big ones) the night before or within only a few days. He listens to you if you go to him for help.

DO NOT TAKE. He literally talks for a full hour and fifty minutes every class and could not be more boring. He also his a harsh grader on essays and gives little information on what he really wants. The worst teacher I have had so far at Wentworth.

He requires 20 pages of writing which is what all profs are required to do. Peer reviews to head off bad papers. Clear models given for the papers. Very fair and helpful full evaluations. Class time flew by. Uses much small group exercises, videos, music. Does not lecture. Conversations are basis of course. Fantastic person. Learned a lot.

Awesome teacher. He showed me how to improve my writing. I went from a "C" to a high "B" because of his comments and peer review system. The readings expanded my mind and gave me a wider view of life than I had before I began the class. He is open and obviously wants his students to perform at their best level. If you want this, it is a great class

Fantastic Teacher. Lots of small group work as well as interesting conversations. I became friends with my discussion group. The classes bonded. Learned to be a better writer. It was always an interesting experience to go to class. He has a lot of wisdom that he shares in a casual way. Good teaching style for anyone who is willing to learn.

*FOR ENGLISH 2** Although he has wisdom concerning literature, his class is extremely boring. Every class does not fall short of torture where you are forced to sit there for 2hours while he rambles on endlessly. He assigns multiple homework at once ranging from 10 to 50 questions and CRANKS out papers he is very picky with. I do not suggest him.

Lot to say about him. Likes to go on very long tangents on a multitude of things. politics (very right-wing and opinionated), where you're from, past students, but rarely course content. VERY strict on no tech. Also weirdly strict on how much sugar is in your drink. SO MANY HANDOUTS. No hats. Respond to emails or else. directly insults majors a lot

Dr. Bailey is a tough grader. I really regret taking his class. Students whom I talk to in his class also agree he is a tough grader. He picks on you if you get absent even though you can have 3 unexcused absences. He goes through every single letter of your citation. (Other instructors don't!) I seriously don't recommend him.

Dr. Bailey has an exceptional English 1 class! His course will teach you how to write papers with precision. You MUST get on his good side by being respectful to his rules and showing him effort, respect, good participation. If you get on his good side by doing this, he will love you dearly, even help you with college life and be an easy A.

Although he may be good in person, he does not teach well online. All feedback given is vague and unfair. He is confusing and unorganized and criticizes you if he doesn't like your opinion. He also criticizes you for your questions and doesn't reply to emails while still preaching about email etiquette. All in all, I have not learned anything.

Makes you watch videos in class time that are difficult to understand and have poor audio quality instead of lecturing himself. These videos are typically an average of 50 minutes in length. Requires cameras on at all times and also requires microphones on. Will start every class by talking to every student individually.
