I thought he was a pretty funny guy, in a shy kinda way. Very helpful if you need it. Really bad for part marks, but I do think he gave me some pity marks. Tests were pretty hard. I hated the course, absolutely despised it, but his weird word problems made it kinda funny I guess. Overall a good teacher (just bad for part marks and scary tests)!

what a sweetie... very shy but tries so hard to make math fun. tests are fair but short and questions are heavily weighted, so the difference in getting 3 wrong as opposed to 4 makes a big difference in your grade. if you show up and take the notes (he gives A LOT), and study you'll be fine.

George is a total cutie! He's really shy (especially on the first day of classes) but really knows his stuff. He loves a good geeky math joke, and tries to make it fun any chance he gets. He's very generous with part marks if you show your work, and tries to get people the best mark that he can with what they give him. Take his classes!

George is such a sweetheart... he has a really kind, calm personality which is integrated into the class atmosphere. The way he presents his material is clear and methodical allowing one to easily follow. Definitely take his class!

had him for discrete math...the second hardest math course at camosun. not a very good pass rate:) he is great, rly helpful, will answer any question you throw his way, (sometimes i was in his office for 30 mins on a single Q), very knowlegable, not too boring, except the one section he does on slides...when he throws a joke in class its GOLD!

He's an amazing professor! The Math 100 class was great. He's very organized and helpful. The way of teaching is very clear and easy to follow up. Tests are not so hard if you do the homework. Definitely recommend George's Math! Very very clear way to learn and think about Math!

A perfect example of a university professor. Extremely well-organized, able to help in office hours, and he doesn't get away from his syllabus. That means he will NOT extend due dates for assignments. If you know that and put in work, you'll do great in his class, he knows his stuff. You don't need textbook for Math 100.

Awesome teacher, easy to do well. Do the assignments (answer keys always posted online) and the tests will be pretty much the same kind of stuff. Finally passed the class with this prof!

George is an amazing instructor. He is the consummate professional. Not very social, but then again, that's not why he's up there. If you do all the homework, you will be prepared for his midterms. Midterm three was a killer! The final exam is very similar to the midterms. Very helpful during office hours. I love George, he's cute and cuddly too!

Probably the best teacher of my semester. Maintains a helpful and well built website. Goes over concepts and examples in class in a clear and concise fashion (I would disagree with the previous poster that he only covers easy problems.) He is helpful if you have a question . The tests reflected the course material well.

George is a great prof! This isn't the easiest course, but if you do all the recommended homework problems you will do fine. He goes over tons of examples in class. His assignments have fairly hard questions, but if you can master these, the tests will be a breeze. He's super willing to help outside of class and he's a sweet guy. Get him if you can

One of the best Math prof at Camosun! I had him for two semesters and he explains the examples in classes very clearly. He's very helpful after class in his office hours and will send a lot of time explaining a concept if you don't understand. His test are reasonably fair though his 2nd test is always the hardest I found in both of his classes.

George explains topics extremely cleary and calmy. He goes over many examples to go over any special cases that may be seen on a test. This class is of high difficulty level, and requires a lot of dedication. But, George is always around to help if you get stuck.

He was just okay. Boring at times, very high textbook use which was monotonous. Like someone else said, you have to like math a lot to make it through his class/teaching style. Not the best teacher I've had for math.

George is by far one of the best math instructors I've EVER encountered! He goes over material at a reasonable pace, and does lots of in-class examples. His website is also extremely useful, and his practice tests give you a VERY clear idea about what to expect on the real ones. He's always around to give extra help, and seems genuinely happy to!

A great instructor; he does lots of examples in class which have helped me for when I do the textbook exercises; notes are organized and clear; I've never had to ask him for help so I'm not sure if he's helpful one-on-one... I strongly recommend trying the practice tests he posts online because the tests are pretty similar to the practice ones!

Get in the groove even before the course starts, because it's more intense than the average student may expect.

He's a pretty fair teacher. It's a hard class but if you ask for help he's good. He teaches clearly but I found some of the examples he used to be easier than the questions on midterms. Definitely use the practice midterms he provides on his website. Nice guy, but kind of boring.

Great prof, passionate about math. Hard but fair marker, provides a lot of help on his website. Don't take math 100101 if you don't need it, they are hard courses.

He is a fabulous instructor whom is: * kind and cute (ex: He likes Smarties Candy) *efficient and diligent (ex: always hand exam back the second day) *approchable and helpful (ex:U will find out on you own) Discrete Math.126 is so different from usual math, don't be stuned by it. Since u have a great teacher, u will make it.

George is a great professor, but don't expect an easy ride through a math course. He is a tough grader with difficult tests, but has a ridiculous amount of review material available and will help during office hours and is very good with explanations. Take the time to study and to ask questions and you will do well.

He teaches math, not easy A english 101. George provides great homework and a ton of extra's on his website. He gives great handouts that summarize complicated formula's all with explanations. Which, saves you from taking notes. This is all how you Score an A in mathematics: Relevant studying. He's always there if you need him too,

He definitely is the best math teacher that I ever had. He has a mountain of math materials. Although, my English is not my first English, his explanation is great. He always returns the assignments very quickly. But he is not an easy maker, though. Be prepared for tough tests but you will be stronger at Math too.

Amazing math teacher. He gives you lots of online content to work with, he tells you what you need to know for tests and he's great at explaining all the concepts in a simple clear fashion. Also if you're stuck on an assignment question he will help you with it if you go see him.

George is probably the best Calculus prof at Camosun. He is funny and he went through abstract material very well. His exams are relatively more difficult than the ones that students of other profs may have but if you really understand his lectures, you will be able to ace them. I had him for Math 100 and Math 101. He is highly recommended.

With George as your instructor calculus is a piece of cake. + he's super funny and enjoys the occasional math pun. He won't accept late assignments, although he drops the lowest assignment mark so you're allowed to skip one. Never tests you on anything that he didn't go over in class. 10/10 would take again and again

If you are in the engineering transfer program to UVic George is your man. You have him for MATH 100,101 and 251 and he is the best math professor ever! He tells hilarious dad jokes and easily explains complex math topics. He is super nice and for engineers he really helps with the process of transferring to Uvic. Overall a wonderful guy and prof!

George is amazing!! He's such a great teacher. His detailed explanation makes calc so much easier :) And if you can't understand something, do not hesitate to visit his office, he's always willing to go over that with you. He's so gentle, he never considered my dumb questions "dumb". would def take another course with him :)

George is such an amazing teacher! If you can take his class, DO IT! Also, he provides so many resources, and they definitely made my study easier. His tests are always fair. I personally don't know why some people say he's a hard marker - I found him pretty generous. would totally take another course with him :)

I am not the best at math, but George had a slow gentle way about explaining the concepts that made it easy. You can tell he cares about student success. His tests aren't easy, but they aren't unfair and the assignments balance it well if you aren't a good tester. I didn't think calc could be so straight forward!

The course is hard, but George is great at teaching it. He's very approachable and has lots of resources on his website. Do all the recommended practice problems! And brush up on trig & exponent laws from pre-calc, you will need them. His tests are hard but fair, and I found he was quite generous with marking. He also had a great Halloween costume.

George is a good teacher, however he is only accessible through email. I found myself going to the tutors more than him for help. However, the times I did ask for help me gave me a top notch explanation through email. If you can I would either take this class with a light course load or wait until we can return to face to face.

You will have to work for it, but his expectations and lectures are clear.

MY HOMIE GEORGE! The course itself was extremely tough. He gives out homework quite often and they are HARD. I had to go to his office hours everyday and he never made a face whenever I went to go see him. It's hard to ask questions during class, so if you have questions DON'T HESITATE to ask him. He will not help you if you don't ask for it.

Tough Class but George makes it understandable as long as you put the work in. Had him for both 100 and 101. assignments and practice problems keep you busy but if you do them all it makes the tests easy (ish). 50% finals suck but I think most of the calc profs have the same grade breakdown.

Took MATH 100, 101, 125 all with George. Amazing lectures, he has a lot of experience teaching these classes and that really shows when you go to his lectures. Be prepared to work very hard on assignments, study very hard for tests, and still get < 100%. Throughout the 3 courses only 2 people got 100% on tests. Do all the old tests without help.

You pay attention and study if you want to pass. Show up to all the lectures because there is a lot of material covered everyday. He is a tough but fair marker. Very funny man, likes to sneak jokes into his lectures to see whos paying attention. He won't give up information for free but if you ask the right questions he will answer them.

AMAZING prof! Take him! The course is demanding but rewarding; study for tests and always come to lectures; otherwise, it'll be tough to succeed. He is very engaging with students if you're engaging with him. He gives you an excellent calc baseline if you put in the work. He's full of surprises if you ask him the right questions.

Great prof but a hard course and lots of material. He will give the best explanations around as long as you are attendant to class, people who complain about George probably did not show up to lectures.

To get the best out of this class or any class with george do not be shy to ask questions! He always will go back through problems in detail to sort out any confusion.While homework assignments could be hard, they were always easier than the tests which sets you up well. If you can, do your assignments while office hours are open, he will help you!

I took Math 220 and it was noticable that it was his first time teaching the course, however his teaching style really worked for me. His assignments tests were tough but fair, I found him to be very generous with part marks, and his lectures were easy to follow. I highly recommend taking courses with George if you're willing to put in the effort.

His lectures are really well organized and make sense. He is a really good part marker and he is really sweet. Essentially all of your grade is based on tests but the tests are easier than the assignments he throws at you. The feedback he gives is really good and makes sense as to how and why he's taking marks off

George is a fantastic professor. The assignments are on the tougher side, but they prepare you for the tests well, and he drops the lowest one. Fantastic prof, I would highly recommend george for any classes. His lectures are great, hes funny, and posts videos and notes of all his lectures incase you miss a class. he gives clear feedback, and is generous with part marks. 10/10 would take again.

MATH251, 100% would take again, he is a great professor who cares about his students, is funny, and provides abundant extra resources to help you study and prepare for tests. He is generous with part marks, and wants to see you succeed. I don't think his ratemyprof score is accurate, if you genuinely try, you will likely succeed.
