Do anything in your power to avoid him!
Simply : Horrible!
Whrost Prof ever. Very serious about Peer Evaluation. Doesn't teach well. Take a pillow to this guy's class. Lots of coffee.
Sucks to be you. Drop and go to a different class. This prof is really nice.. But is a hard marker. Expects alot from students. Project is really hard, waste of time. Exam is a killer.
Really good prof. Very ambitious to teach. He wants everyone to do well. But I found his peer evaluation were not that helpful. You really have to work hard to get the mark. So be prepard to read read and listen in class.... and have a good group.
This guy knows his stuff, and he's a great guy. Uses multimedia often to stir the classe's interest.
I took this course on a saturday, and it was not that bad, but his tests and quizzes are extremely difficult (BE AWARE)..he gives u a study guide, just study that, and u will do fine...but compared to other tests ive seen, his tests are REALLY HARD. exam was okie, again study the EXAM GUIDE.
This professor is tough tough tough, I never know what he wants. His exams are packed with questions and your never given enough time. He also gave us this group assignment to do which is a pain in the a$$$.
Best prof ever but tough. If you pay attention and read through everything that he provides, then you would be fine. He is very knowledgeable and you will learn a lot from him.
Very professional; though tough and sweet at the same time.He creates very good relationships with the students; he is open-minded and easy-going.
Great teacher and very easy to understand! I would love to be taught by him again.
If you follow the course work and read everything you'll do fine. As with any CMHR405 course the workload is a bit heavy so just keep up with the work and study lots. If you have questions, ask. Great communicator and instructor...gets everyone involved in teamwork. Positive attitude. sweet and fair.
Very Hard. You get more participation marks than the project. Only his favorite students get citizenship points....Never take a online course with him.
I would never take a course with him as a teacher ever again. I mean he expects you to read every thread posted on the website...how fair is that. With my citizenship points I only got 17/20...can you believe that. I think he expects too much from students who take courses online...yes there's more work but come on be reasonable.
Not a class that you can coast through. You must do at least one of these: read the textbook, review the slides, come to class and take notes/listen. Very structured, fair and encouraging. U wont do well in this class if u are lazy.
He is confusing, often giving answers when he's not sure of the answer himself. He makes the class excrutiatingly painful to attend, and if I ever got registered in his class, I would definitely transfer out. I suggest you do the same.
George is awesome
I had training and development with George this past semester and let me tell you he keeps the class interesting. He uses various teaching methods that you will learn in class, when you have any questions he will answer you until you are crystal clear. I would totally recommend him .
The grading for the group marks is completley unfair on how one person gets more and others suffer with such low marks. He also marks quite easy for the students he likes, for the studens who try just as hard don't even get that chance. I can't believe that I actually enjoyed this class with all that I learned and left with such a low mark.
I would have rather skipped his classes, because his lectures were really not all that informative. His grading for group projects is very unfair. If he'd like to keep in confidential, he should not ask the class to share it at the end of class.
Clicker tests makes going to class mandatory. He seems to be a fairly difficult marker so make sure you're group project is up to par. His classes are usually pretty fun though. One thing that was odd - when we did peer evaluations we made comments and THEN were given the evaluations to read and discuss with our groups.
I usually am fair with rating professors, but this guy is not helfpul at ALL. In his class, your answer is NEVER right, & he will always correct you. Worst professor this year. Will not email you back if you have a question. Picks out favourite students, and makes those that are quiet suffer in terms of marks. Transer out of his class if you can.
He is the worst prof anyone can get in their first year. His peer evaluations are very unfair and does not reflect the students performance AT ALL. Avoid this prof at all costs! He makes the class boring and useless, you might as well skip and sleep in because you will either fail or get a low mark regardless.
He is ok ....but won't help you out. gives very tricky midterm and exam. i would avoid him if I can in future.....just read your book and slides.
You work too hard for the s*** grade you get. Take this with someone else not worth it!!!
Peer evaluations are horribly unfair and encourage competition between students. Only a certain amount of students in each group are allowed an a, b, c, et cetera. Do not take his class unless you are a competitive person.
He's ok but I hated the unrelated comic strips that we had to listen to at the start of class. The clicker thing sucks and it just make him look good since he's repsonsible for implementing the program.
not happy to have him. Strict and tough. Quizzes u have to study on your own before the lecuture. Well than whats the point of having lectures then, if we have to prepare our self and study for a quiz that we have no knowledge of. Please dont take him.,
Prepare to fail HAHAHA! Hard marker, boring class and hard midterm and final get out if u can!!
Horrible just horrible. He teaches okay, tests are hard he marks EXTREMELY hard and unfair also is horrible interms of helpfulness. Every1 whos taking his class has told me how much they regret it and ive joined that crowd. Just drop him asap there are far better MHR teachers
Terrible instructor, VERY biased toward his "favourites." Avoid unless you have absolutely NO other option.
Has his favorites...good prof though. marks fairly, not a hard marker as he makes himself seem. C
Be ready to put in A LOT of work. Took the hybrid course through chang school. Weekly online participation gradedd, class attendance and participation grades, presentation and 2 projects + exam!! Content isn't hard but a lot of work. If you're good to him he will be good to you! Make sure you follow instructions to the T!
OMG why is he underrated like this!!..He is a very knowledgeable and experienced instructor, his lectures are really interesting & motivating. He is a very fair marker and is also very helpful if help is needed.Tips:attend, study from text book, submit assignments on time and be cooperative with ur peers in the project as they can fire u ;)
awesome
ONLINE He did not provide our course the option to EMAIL the class only a hidden section to MESSAGE your classmates through BB. Never answered emails on time sometimes he took more than a week to answer, not ON holidays. Extremely hard mc questions on the exam, gave us 3 page case study to analyze. OVERALL WORST EXPERIENCE FOR 1ST TIME ONLINE USER!
ONLINE - Pretty bad class overall. Lots of text book use and for an online course there was a lot of work. Same thing as mentioned above. Only able to send emails for group project through BB, in this day and age that was just silly and a limitation to learning online
Terrible class with prof that doesn't respond to emails and considering it was an online class that might be important. Only using BlackBoard for communicating with your group on the project just made things way more difficult than they should have been.
Lecture is interesting, enjoyed the class, but a lot of reading. Group work is competitive, every one worked hard, final result met our group’s expectations. If you attend the class and study the text book, exam will not so hard. He is kind and approachable, good learning experience overall.
I honestly didn't expect much from this class but this prof made the course fun and interesting. I really enjoyed the activities and coursework.
- horrid teaching style, in that there wasn't one. - course modules were 4 (avg.) pages long, followed by read chapter "X", and contribute to the discussions. - zero interaction, contributions, or feedback from the Prof - course modules had almost no value - All that I have learned in this course was from what I read in the textbook
Horrible professor. Takes ages to respond to emails, uploads your test/assignment marks over a month late. Overall very lazy and has poor work ethic based on his delayed marking and email responses. Regret taking this course with him. Nice man but don't BOTHER because his teaching skills are ZERO.
George was a terrible prof, especially for an online course. We were advised that PART A of the final exam would be multiple choice, and PART B would be short answers. What actually ended up happening was that the final exam PART A was short answer and PART B was long answer - BEST way to be entirely thrown off during the exam! SO DISAPPOINTED.
HARDEST COURSE IVE EVER TAKEN! hard marker!
Avoid. The money saved on commuting is not worth what you go through during the course. George is a tough marker and rarely interacts with the students. However when he does post announcements, his remarks will give off a sarcastic hue. Overall, this course was horrendous & I do not plan to take another course with George again.
Baranyai has a lot of work to do in terms of teaching. Often, students were left confused because of his lack of clarity. He was always more concerned with disciplining students than making the course more engaging. Training & Development could have been interesting, but he made it dreadful. I wish he would improve on his lecturing skills.
If you want courses with zero interaction from the prof, then this one is for you. Midterms were on June 9, he only posted the marks for the exams one week before finals (end of July)- well past the deadline to drop the course without penalty. Rarely communicates through blackboard, and has zero interest in providing feedback, beware!
One of the worst professors I've ever had. He is not helpful AT ALL. avoid at all costs
Please avoid.... I wish someone had warned me about him. 0 teaching skills, doesn't care about the students and has a very poor attitude.
George is arguably the worst professor I've ever had the unfortunate opportunity to "learn" from. I put learn in quotes because he doesn't teach anything. It's an online class and obviously he can only do so much, but he does NOTHING. No feedback, HARD marker, vaguely responds, doesn't ever show that he's available to help. Do not take. Horrible.
This professor is one of the worst I've ever encountered... His lecture slides that he posts are terrible and barely match what is being said in the textbook that you have to read to learn everything. Exam questions are ridiculously hard. After sitting down with him and reviewing the exam, he wanted the answers to match his directly. STAY AWAY
midterm average for the class was 57. Makes you post on D2L weekly. Makes you use D2l to communicate on group projects. I honestly don't understand how people can rate this prof well. Avoid even if it means taking an in-class course. Spend a little gas money and save yourself the stress.
Not helpful. Extremely Hard marker with stupid multiple choice selections like "C. None of the above D. None of them apply". Makes you do your whole group project on D2L which is extremely inconvenient and inefficient. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS.
Even if you do the weekly 3x D2L postings, they have to be perfect or you won't get the mark. Group project is actually worse than you could imagine with no support from the prof. Impossible grader - midterm was a disaster. He's a good person, very nice, but it's almost like he wants people to regret taking an online course.
please avoid this prof, one of the worst professor i ever had
He failed me even though I got an 80% on the group project... Terrible prof. Not responsive to emails at all.
Beware of this professor. He assumes that all his students come from same have same educational qualification and they all have to undergo his FIRE TEST. I knew I will fail his test as he will give you 50 MCQ 0.5 marks each with 5 choices to choose from. Then short answer questions which are as difficult to understand as this professor himself
Midterm and exam were 10X harder than they needed to be with hypothetical type questions and things that have no real answer, just his opinion. Vague instructions yet expects a very specific response. Weekly D2L posts were graded hard and impossible to get a good mark. Avoid like the plague.
The OB course was very demanding, the group project was difficult at best due to the restrictions for communication placed on it. The midterm and final exams were very challenging. The prof was primarily hands off and learning was primarily group discussions and posts. The course structure forced serious independence and leadership skills.
NOT a fun course to take. The material is interesting. I like the narrative format of the online discussion questions. He is a HARD marker. You have to somehow know exactly what he wants to hear otherwise it is wrong. Multiple choice is written to confuse, not prove your knowledge. Felt like he was on an intellectual power trip with grading.
Do not understand his bad reviews. Online class is easy with discussion posts and midterm was easy as long as you studied. It is content heavy so be prepared but he does not deserve the bad rep. Study and keep up with content and you'll do great
He purposely leaves out content in the slides so that you have to go to class. No participation grades. Interesting subject, uninteresting professor.
I loved the Course, especially with George. He is very specific in his requirements for the course. You should attend classes because he goes over important stuff too. He is genuinely caring if you talk to him.
Avoid avoid!! This class was horrible! I wish I read the reviews before choosing this course. I failed both exams even though I did the study review. Only a handful of questions were actually on the test. George assigns 5 assignments to complete every week, it's impossible to keep up. Best advice: choose a different elective!!
Whatsoever, DO NOT take him as your prof. Biggest procrastinator i have ever seen in my life. Took 8 weeks to grade 2 assignments. No feedback on time and doesn't reply to emails for up to 4-5 days, sometimes never.
His classes are very informative and interactive. Unless you have the time to really stick to the text book and lectures, you'll have a really hard time in his class. He is a really hard marker and has very specific expectations for his assignments. Be prepared to receive lower marks than you expected. I would not take a class with him again.
This class had an extremely large amount of work to do for an elective. It is very difficult to do well as it has to be perfect and exactly what he wants to hear to do well. There are 4 weekly assignments ( which you have to buy a $100 textbook for) and also a weekly live video session. On top of this there are 3 major assignments, midterm+final.
Probably the worst teacher I have had for first year, hardest grader unnecessary work for an elective, trash professor responds in a week time
This is a difficult class, but George is excellent. He uses different teaching methods to ensure the lessons are learned.
His resources for success are not helpful and are outdated. Way too many things to navigate throughout the website. Feedback from work arent helpful. Prof responds emails in a long time. The online meetings have nothing to do with what were learning. The criteria and rubrics he left for us to work on for assignments are not resourceful or helpful
Way too many assignments for an elective course. He also marks too hard with little to no feedback on the assignments. Each week there's 5 assignments to do. unless you have excess time on your hands, it's difficult to complete. Replies to emails really late and does not take into consideration the fact that students have other courses. Avoid!!
He is the worst prof ever.
This is the first time I receive a C in University. 1st of all, this guy is the toughest grader. His assignments are based on ur opinions but will still grade u as if he asked you for facts. He uses a lot of websites that students shud need to navigate & marks attendance on a SATURDAY. who does that? If you take him good luck working in hell.
While it is a lot of work to earn a good grade, talking to him to understand what he is looking for goes a long way. Its up to you to put the work in as he knows what he wants and you have to figure it out as early as possible. ASBs are marked harder so focus on those. Take the word limit **seriously!**
Avoid Avoid Avoid. Heavy workload and he is the type of person who wants to give his students low grades. He thinks he's a great teacher with all the resources he has and all but he's so stupid, he makes a supposed to be an easy class a hard class. Idiot for making class mandatory on a Saturday & a lot of essays every week. This is a SUICIDE class

This is a tough class but GB makes a genuine effort to make it interesting through movie case studies and break out sessions in class. You must be an independent and self-disciplined student to succeed since there is little instruction on OB in the class. Stay on top of your readings, watch the movie clips early and connect with your classmates.
He assigns 5 assignments every week that are difficult to manage. Takes forever to mark assignments and provides only general feedback. Wants very specific answers for the ASB assignments but does not give you proper feedback so receive very low grades. HAVE to read the textbook every week and modules are useless. DO NOT TAKE!!
Worst Professor ever. Never take this professor. A lot of homework and 5% of attendance.
This course was better structured from the HRPA. Unfortunately, George's teaching style has left me and most students confused. The content was way too much for an introductory course. I've taken other CHRM courses that were very straight forward and educational.
Never again worst prof in the history of my profs
Never take this class professor is horrible and course too. There is 5% for attendance but your camera should me on all the time. Who does that? Even in primary school its not mandatory.a lot of homework quizzes and assignment.
This course requires 12 hours a week. You have to read through the textbook online, provide annotations, and comment on other people's notes. You also have to go through the modules. Then there are 5 assignments per week. All of them are time consuming . This is the first course I ever failed in my life. George is the worst example of leadership.
No words... 1/5
George is very obviously knowledgeable about this topic, any time he answers ambiguities he comes up with great examples and provides good insight, HOWEVER!, he has the class teach themselves in breakout groups in which there is NO buy in from students and therefore the activity is useless. I would love to learn from George, that's what I paid for.
Worst professor ever. Organizational behaviour is a very complex subjective subject and his grading process does not allow students to truly immerse themselves in the subject. All assignment and exam answers to be pulled directly from the textbook, no room for self-interpretation. Worst learning opportunity.
LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS! George makes me never want to take another HR class again. This is an online class (except for exams) and your zoom camera always has to be on. Every week, there's a quiz, a thinking exercise and a 700-word analysis to do on a movie scene. He says you should spend about 12hrs a week on it which is WILD for a 1hr class. Avoid!
This professor is absolutely horrible. If his name shows up for your course or section immediately try and switch out. He marks impossibly hard. He gave me a near fail for missing a citation on a weekly assignment where I would have normally gotten a 100. Saying he could have given me a zero but he was being generous. Like I should be thankful.
Easily the most unwavering, strict marking, and bureaucratic professor I have ever had. He will only give you full marks if you pretty much quote the textbook when answering questions, despite him asking you not to. He will report you to the Dean's office for academic integrity violations simply off of a missing citation. No mercy, no leeway.
Entire course (weekly chapters and tests) are through an expensive online textbook. He doesn't really teach the course. His assignments include analyzing video clips every other week and posting generic one sentence fluff weekly. Course design is very lazy yet still somehow more convoluted than most. Lectures are entirely self taught breakouts.
Very tough marker, vague feedback
Avoid. Very heavy workload, camera-on weekly zoom meetings for 5% of your mark, marks extremely hard, barely teaches. Absolutely terrible.
WORST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY WHOLE 4 YEARS OF UNIVERSITY. For god's sake, I took this course just as an open elective, and the way he grades you is not even mandatory. I was about to graduate with honours, but thanks to this guy, I couldn't. Zero for attendance if you leave the class even 2 min early. No response to emails.
Students teach each other in breakouts and he only gives two thin lectures . Feedback is canned. Exams half xchoice, half essay, which even if you have the facts down you will still get wrong. Interesting Material. Spent weeks studying for exams and knew material but barely passed. He encourages people to drop. Spent 12 to 20 hours/wk. Avoid!
Worst teacherand his breath is just as bad.
Worst professor at TMU, please don't take him. You might also fail and have to retake with another professor. It's better to take this course with another professor or wait till next semester.
Avoid this class if possible. The professor has a rigid grading system that heavily penalizes any deviation from the textbook. Lots of busy work and little actual teaching. However, unstuck AI can help with study prep.
He's a great professor. Tough grader but he makes what he expects fairly clear.
