Really smart man, explains the concepts very well and makes the subject matter interesting.
I had this professor for Learning and Memory. He does explain things pretty well but usually in a boring delivery. Don't care for "Make your own textbook"--more trouble than it's worth.

Extremely knowledgable about learning theory. Is able to explain difficult concepts. Loved the 'create your own textbook'.
Extremely knowledgeable and explains difficult concepts very well. Makes the subject interesting but its a challenging course.
This professor was the worst. He talks like a textbook..is not clear and his tests are VERYYYY HARD. On all his questions he will have A) Blah blah blah B) Blah blah C) Blahh Blahh D) All of the above E) A and C ...That is SOOO Annoying dont take him!!
Very intelligent & kind man- but an extremely difficult professor. He assumes students have a prior knowledge of the subject- which many of us did not. Exams are so, so difficult- even when some questions are given before the exam! Nice not having to buy a textbook.
Attempts to help out by giving sample questions and matching terms before exam but it's hardly helpful in the end when the exams are written in complete jargon. Too much time was dedicated to the anatomy of the eye and reproductive behavior. It shouldn't be called learning and memory if we are hardly going to cover the subject. Waste of my time.

initially he's a big shock because he seems to have a built in thesaurus to make things sound more complicated than they are. but he's SOOO smart. you can tell. his exams are hard, but if you study u do fine. the first exam is extremely easy. he gives you all the 'matching' questions and two of the essay questoins out of three b4 the exam.
A lot of "brain" and little "behavior," but at the end of the day, if you are majoring in Psych, you ought to know this stuff too. He offers extra credit, which got more than one person their "A," so definately do the EC! He's really a brilliant man. If you actually want to learn this Neuropsych, he's the guy to take.
Tells you the first day that he teaches class at a grad level and not to expect a grade above a "C". Very dull in the lectures, and uses a text he is currently writing, this makes finding additional info on subjects difficult.
This class is a waste of time and money! I would seriously not recommend this class to anyone. His lectures are boring and difficult to understand. Your grade is based on 3 tests. His tests are very very hard. How much worse can it get? Take a different teacher!
The only prof. I have ever had that continuously shows up for class 20-30 minutes late. The material doesn't seem too hard until you get to the test. I am an all A student and will struggle to get a B after giving it my all. The tests have little to do with the study guides.
No book- he has his own on blackboard. Lectures can be boring, but after I got used to his style I thought the material was interesting. Always about 20 minutes late...gives out some test questions for incentive to show up. 3 tests, he weighted our top 2 at 40% and the lowest 20%, can earn 3pts EC and 5pts per test for completing study guide...
I just found this class to be a little difficult. I felt like you had to have some knowlege on this subject prior to taking this class.
Good Prof but really busy. This class is a bit difficult, but if you do the extra-credit you'll be fine. The lectures are VERY DRY (i.e. sit in back!) Also - you don't need to buy the book, we never opened it at all!
I took him last year, but after reading this, I had to comment. He isn't teaching a Mickey Mouse class, so don't expect to get through it without studying and showing up to class. Still I have never learned more from another teacher. He knows the material, and you will to if you try. Great teacher.
This class is not an easy A. Take advantage of the extra credit. He is brillant, but he does not know how to explain things at our level. Cell bio or anatomy&phys class before this would help you get an A. Read the notes he prints and make sure you know them. The answers r all there. He is Tardy every class by15mins. That will get on ur last nerve.
He is a very nice guy and the class is not that bad. He made his own textbook which is pretty easy to follow. If you are willing to put in the work to study and attend class then you should not have a problem. Just keep in mind it is not a kiddie class, you have to put in a lot of effort.
I am a physiology freak so I loved this class. He is very easy to mistake as mean but I wouldn't take it to heart. I enjoyed the straight forwardness and learned a load of things. Highly recommended!
The class was difficult, but it was not impossible to get an A. He gives out test questions randomly during the semester, so going to class is definitely helpful. He explains everything very thoroughly that it borders on boring, but he really does want you to understand the material, and if you go to class, you will.
This is the best professor i have had all my college life!!! he is very clear and very smart. there is dum about his classes, i had him for brain n behaviour as well as learning n memory. his classes are truly college level. if ure lazy or jus hate learning then u may have problems
He is an asset to WSU. He is very smart and takes the time to make sure students understand. PLEASE do not take him if you want an easy A, take him in you want an intelligent teacher who challenges you.
This class is designed for clinical psych majors. as a special ed major I had a really hard time with it. nice not having to buy a book. the man is smart and tries to explain things but it the end his vocabulary is way to hard to comprehend. the tests are written in impossible psych jargon. do the extra credit and study hard
This class is hard. The teacher spoke monotone and used high vocab. He wouldn't explain things well and when students truly didn't understand and keep asking questions he would turn away and move on in lecture. He told the class the class average on the first exam would go up later when more students would drop because they keep failing.
This class wasn't a breeze, but as long as you pay attention in lecture and review your notes, an A is definately attainable. The material is very interesting and I looked forward to coming to class. He is one of my favorite professors at Wayne. I highly suggest taking him. :)
This teacher is so hard...do not take him!!! I repeat do not take him!
He was a horrible lecturer who didn't answer questions. The "text" for the class was written by him in 1999 (completely outdated), with abbreviations throughout with vague definitions.
Did not keep track of attendance, but considering there isn't an actual textbook for the course, it is to your benefit to attend class- He gives clear and in depth presentations, tests are hard but if you complete the study guide you'll be fine.
He's a good teacher the class is easy just do the study guide and he goes right of that on the exam. There is no text book for this class which makes it important to go to class. He's a quiet speaker but knows what hes talking about and follows his notes to the T. i recommend this class and this teacher
This prof. was very knowledgeable on the subject, but the lectures were short and not clear. I took brain and behavior with him. He was always late and his grading methods are very hard, he does not curve. He teaches all about theory, extremely hard class. Although the lectures were short, I did learn something. Good luck if you try and take him.
Not an easy class but an A is possible as long as you are willing to put in the work. basically memorize the lecture notes and the exams will be a breeze. but you must be willing to work fo ryou grade. After teh second exam i think only like 13 people were passing. All in all good guy, smart and kinda funny.
I took him for Brain and Behavior and Learning and Memory both were very hard classes. He explains everything in theory and is very smart, but it is hard to understand. If you work hard and have a lot of time, then I say its possible to get a B.
SOOOOOO HARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I squeezed by with a C somehow...If you are planning on taking the course, show up and take notes!
This class is challenging. However, I find him extremely brilliant. He really knows a lot about the stuff he is teaching. However, if you don't attend class, you won't pass, plain and simple. He also gives study guides for each test that give you a bonus 5% on each exam. Furthermore, if you do the study guides well, it gives all info.
This professor is extremely smart. His classes consist of straight lecturing, and if you're not interested in the subject, you will hate it. I respect him a lot and look forward to going to class. Even if you don't go to class, though, it's easy to pass his class. He essentially posts all of his lecture notes along with the powerpoint on blackboard
This is an extremely hard class. He is the BEST teacher for it. 3 tests make up your grade, but he gives 5% credit on them if you do the study guide. He gives 3 point extra credit on your final grade. Attendance is a must although not mandatory. An A is very possible if you go to class and enjoy learning about neuroscience.
Great professor, better man. I learned so much from him. Not easy class, but if you put the work in, an A is very easily attained. I will never forget this class and the material; was so interesting. This is the class you will be referencing for the rest of your life. Best psychology class I have taken on my way to a degree.
love dr.Borszcz.. some people may have problems, but you have to love psychology and be committed to it to excel in his classes. If you like it, you will learn it and be fine. he is amazing and super intelligent, you will learn amazing things and he is interesting
Amazing professor ever. Love Dr. borszcz. 3 exams and not book. Never missed a lecture. Took good notes during class, reviewed his notes and exams were easy. He's not tricky at all. Lectures are so interesting. He's willing to help anyone who needs it.
This was a great class! He is super smart and super nice.
Take his class if you are interested in the material, if not, his monotone voice will lull you to sleep. Don't let that happen, take notes on everything he says everyday. His tests will punch you in the kidneys while putting you in a headlock. Do parts of the study guide every week, it is extra credit, no excuses, go hard in the paint!
Arrives 20mins late to class every day, is very monotone and quiet, unless youre in the first 2 rows you cant hear a word he says. Doesnt answer questions clearly, uses a lot of jargon. Very hard exams. First and only class I've ever withdrew from.
SOOOOO self indulgent. Please don't take this class. I"m sure there are better professors. He is anecdotal instead of relying on his PowerPoint and it drove me insane. Mumbles slowly and just SO sleep-inducing, but you can't hear well unless you're in the front row!!!! reconsider.
He will bore you to death. He makes the subject as boring as possible. Always late.
This teacher is amazing!!!! He is so passionate about what he teaches. He speaks softly so sit in the front. But his passion makes you love it too! He gives you so much info for the test, its hard not to fail.
For the love of god avoid this class at all costs. The material is incredibly hard to understand if you have little knowledge of the material prior. On top of that, the exams are created to trick you as well. Hard material + hard tests you're gonna get a C unless you focus literally all of your time on this class.
Please do not take him. You can barely understand unless you are sitting next to him. Has an attitude if you ask him a question. Makes the material much harder than it is. Felt like I was in an anatomy class. Very hard teacher and it is almost impossible to get an A.
I'm a non-traditional student. I have a family and a full time job. This class in and of itself was like having a second full time job. If you don't know much about biology prior to this class, STAY AWAY. He only gives 3 tests and a few extra credit points. Very hard for very little pay out. Overly complicated.
Prof. Borszcz is incredible. He's so knowledgeable about neuroscience, and gives life advice that is priceless- so much respect for him as a person. He shows some test questions in advance in class, offers extra credit & you only need 90% for an A. Such an interesting class. To people saying he is late: he is in a wheelchair, give him a break!
He is a great teacher. He will most likely show up late for class, but the wait is worth it because his lectures are amazing.
Professor Borszcz is a great teacher. He is clear, repeats anything that you don't, offers extra credit, and has notes already prepared for students! Would take a course with him again, super knowledgeable.
Lecture slides are clear and each lecture is accompanied by an outline posted on Blackboard. Three exams- each worth 33.3% of your grade, but completed study guides will help you earn 5 extra points on each exam. He also offers extra credit which can boost your overall grade up by 3%! Attend class and sit in the front. Cut him slack for being late!
Prof. Borsczc is a great professor! He wants his students to pass. Your grade is made up of three exams, no cumulative final. He offers lots of extra credit: a study guide before each exam worth 5 points and 3 SONA credits worth a 3% final grade boost. I highly suggest printing out the powerpoint slides or taking notes on them on you laptop.
Prof Borszcz is the best professor I've ever had. I've never been taught in a way where I truly absorb/understand all the material the first time presented to me. He has impacted my academic career & has changed my mentality and level of respect towards psychology. His tests are fair. If he ever returns to WSU, be sure to take one of his courses.
Dr. Borszcz clearly lovesH his students and what he does. He and has a very soft voice so I'd advise you sit in the front. In addition to the lectures, you need to know the lecture notes he posts on blackboard very well! More content comes from there for exams. Offers extra credit, lots of it. He's always willing to answer questions.
Overall, his class was pretty hard. You must really study his notes and take good notes in class. He does give 5 extra credit points on each test if you do the study guide. If you don't like to study hard I recommend you don't take him. He doesn't have a book for the course as well.
It's beneficial to go to class especially to get extra credit. I also recommend doing the study guides because it helps with learning the material and its 5 extra credit points each, which come in handy. He does talk softly so its better to sit close.
This was the worst class I've taken. He left 1/3 of the way through and 3 other professors would take turns teaching the class with their slides, but test us with his exams. Lets just say this guy is smart and goes WAY more in depth into the material than the other prof. This is will NOT be a blow off class. No homework, just 3 exam grades.
This class will kick your butt if you don't study. Attendance isn't mandatory however, it should be because all of your test ?'s come from his lectures. He posts lecture notes so you don't have to buy a book so that was nice. Professor Borszcz is a genius, he's very knowledgable and his lectures are engrossing however sit close, he's very quiet.
probably the smartest professor you'll ever have, a genuine genius. If you skip or don't listen then you're screwed. 3 tests and no assignments but lots of studying to do well. he will make you learn
He loves his job and this makes it enjoyable to learn in his class. He offers power points and outline lectures online so you don't have to go to class. He a very nice and smart guy!
No book for the class. His notes are all you have. Three exams total. Final not cumulative. Do ALL extra credit.
No book needed, but study his notes extremely well. Exams are not easy. Offers extra credit and you should take advantage of it.
test were not only MC, but matching, and diagram based. Need to know lectures and outlines very well. Gave the first 2 and last 2 MC and the vocab that was gonna be on the exam on random days, so show up. gave really in depth lectures- extra credit study guides- do them, they really bump up your exam scores!
He was a very inspirational although somewhat dry lecturer. His examples made the concepts much easier to understand. There is minimal homework, just 3 study guides you can do for extra credit for the 3 exams. Only the exams and the extra credit make up your grades. But still, the exams are easy and he posts outlines that you can forgo class for
He's very intelligent & will make you work for your grade. There's no homework, only 3 exams with study guides that are 5 points extra credit if you do them and turn them. No textbook. He wants you to do well in his class. Lectures can sometimes be dry- record them to re-listen (you'll need it, trust me), and sit close- he's quiet.
I really like Dr. Borszcz. My suggestion to ace his class would be to bring your laptop, sit close, and type notes on most of what he says. The study guide (worth 5 points extra credit) will be much easier if you go along that way and do it rather than saving it all for the weekend before an exam. He's incredibly smart and his lectures are good.
He's very knowledgeable. He's also late to every class, sometimes up to half an hour late. I'd suggest sitting close to the front, he's very quiet. Three tests make up your whole grade, complete the study guide for each test for 5 extra credit points. It's a lot of work for not very many points, but ultimately helps with studying.
Dr. Borszcz was amazing! He did come in late, but I only minded because class time was so interesting and I honestly wished we had more time to listen. Sit near the front, and I'd recommend printing the slides and taking notes on them as he talks. Make sure you are able to talk yourself through each of the concepts... if you can, you've got an A!
I don't know why people complain about this prof. Although the material is tough, it is manageable. Dr. Borszcz gives students the first 2 and last 2 questions on each exam and the vocab words for the matching section. He also gives extra credit. The issue is that many students don't attend class, and their grade suffers as a result. ATTEND CLASS.
Dr. Borszcs was a great professor! Encouraged questions and gave a lot of extra credit which is a huge help in grade boosts. The class was very difficult for me and the tests were hard, but I did all the extra credit and passed with a C. He has a great personality. At times, he is late to class but be patient. Totally worth it!
He is super passionate about the material and presents it in a very clear and interesting way. However, he can be a bit dry. The exams are very straightforward and come straight from his lectures, PPTs, and the lecture outlines he provides you with instead of a textbook. Study the material well and do the extra credit study guides and an A is easy!
Dry lectures but interesting material. No textbook required, three tests, study guides for extra credit, ppts and lecture outlines are posted online. Easy A.
I had Dr. Borszcz for my honors thesis. He was absolutely amazing and always encouraged the best from me. What I learned from writing a thesis under his supervision goes far beyond what I have learned in many psych courses. He encourages you to think like a researcher, which is beneficial to any future graduate student. One of the best profs at WSU
Very very smart man. I had him from brain and behavior as well. He gives the first and last 2 MC questions and the word bank. His study guides add an extra 5 points to your test score. His test are out of 100 so if you get a 65 but do the study guide you'll get a 70. Do study guides early because they do take a lot of time. Take good notes!
Very intelligent, hard exams but offers good extra credit
Literally one of the most difficult psych classes I've ever taken. Grade is composed of ONLY THREE exams, and they are HARD. Offers some extra credit through study guides, and you definitely want to do them. He is a brilliant person; however, his lectures are very dry and there is no book offered, so show up and take notes.
I'm not sure why people are saying he is extremely difficult. Will you have to work for your A yeah but I'll give some tips on how to make that easy. Attend class or just follow the slides and study guide and know them inside and out 2) when he shows the last 2 questions from the exam make a video and you will get a solid 10 Qs. Do EC and boom, A!
Three tests, no hw, no attendance, no book. Difficult concepts and he has a hard time simplifying the topics for the sake of teaching.
He is a super nice man. lectures the entire class. He really knows his stuff. Class wasn't that difficult.. he gives you PowerPoints which he goes over in lecture and detailed lecture pdf.. exams are mostly on the detailed pdfs so study those. do the study guides to get 5pts EC on your exams. he will tell you what is on the exam.
You can tell he really knows his stuff. Hes extremely, extremely smart. However, the class is a bit difficult. Youre only graded on 3 exams. Kind of monotone, but push through and youll be fine. If youre looking for an easy A, dont take this class.
Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. Hated every second of this semester because of this class. I don't recommend him at all. Worked so hard and got a D. Grade based off 3 exams, extra credit offered. Lectures are not useful.
This professor is VERY knowledgable on the subject but his lectures were really boring (in my opinion). Your grade consists of only 3 exams and some extra credit so, if you do not test well I do not reccommend this class! However if you are going to take this class combine powerpoint slides + lecture outlines + your notes for the tests.
Since the formal of this class was online and there was no textbook ,we solely relied on his prerecorded lectures (which are very slow and hard to listen to), powerpoint slides, and a pdf slide of notes. The lecture would not cover everything he had in his notes but the tests were open note. Not much time to complete them because of that.
He's clearly knowledgable about the subject, but doesn't explain it well. His lectures are super long and very boring, hard to keep up with. His exams weren't too hard, but the time limit always caused me to get a bad grade since I didn't have time to finish. Grade is also only based on 3 exams + extra credit.
Whole grade relies on three exams and 3 e.c. points. In order to get an A you would need to listen to all lectures. Lectures are very slow and monotone, and most exams have hours worth of recorded lectures to watch. Open note but not enough time given to find all answers. Best recommendation: watch lectures at 2x speed, take notes, cntrl f during
This class was extremely hard. Professor Borszcz was knowledgeable on the information for this course, but his lectures were extremely long and very boring. They were really hard to get through, which made the exams difficult. Your best bet is the outlines and PowerPoints.
The plus side of this class is that there are weekly quizzes that if you do you get an extra 10% on your tests. It came in handy at the end because the tests were all multiple select and it was easy to get questions wrong. This class isn't a lot of work, but it is hard.
The lectures were very long (understandable) & followed his powerpoints. His powerpoints were not helpful and lack information that was being asked on quizzes & exams. The questions being asked were too far in-depth and were purposely worded to confuse students that ultimately wasted time on the exam. -100/10
This course was very interesting and the professor is extremely knowledgeable. The wording on exams/quizzes was wordy and confusing in my opinion. Grades were composed of 3 exams and extra credit from the bi-weekly quizzes. Keeping up with lectures is important because almost all of them were longer than 90 minutes.
