I find history very boring and Dr. B makes it very fun and stimulating I learned a lot from his class and carry it on with me still. Dr. B is the best. I highly recommend him.

If you graduate Iona without taking at least one of his classes, you have done yourself a great disservice. Not only does he make history interesting, but he is one of the most facinating people I have ever met.

Dr.B is the most amazing teacher on the face of the planet. He's pure genius and possesses most excellent sense of humor and people skills. He opened up a whole new world of history to me... I hated history before I had him. I love Dr.B

OK this is supposed to be the hardest class in the history department but Dr. B made it seem like nothing. As long as you have good grammar you get good grades. Its a paper writing class so you never have to go to the actual classroom hes in the office

Doc B's class is one that you have to put some work into. Only one paper, but many many quizes. Write the paper and you'll get what you have in the class at that time. Get an A on the first couple of quizes and he'll refer to that later on.

Very smart, intelligent guy - probably the wisest HST teacher @ Iona campus. Knows what he is preaching about. His quizes can kill u sometimes, but even if u get a C in his class - u learn a lot. His jokes r 2 funny sometimes.

He is an excellent professior. I had him for more than the class but they won't let you fit all the courses. I also had him for hst. 370, and 490. He has great command of his material.

Dr.B is very funny but can sometimes be offensive with his jokes so you have to have a good sense of humor. His textbook contains only his notes and he goes over them in class. His tests can be extremely difficult if you are not prepared.

if u want to learn the only way u can actually learn is from him. He doesn't only have the right background to be teaching hst, but has great knowledge.For Middle East Hst there is no required text, just lectures, midterm and 15 pages paper + all those great lectures that u actually want 2 listen!

unlike some other teachers at Iona, he actually knows his material and can prove it w/ his genius knowledge. extremely challenging class, even if it's the non-western civ or higher level class.he makes u look at history differently.oh, and his jokes and personality are just unbelieveable!

Dr. B is the man, Ive taken tons of classes with him and he never gets old. Take his classes and be sure to ask him about ziplining, swimming with sharks, and tandem skydiving

Myth: college is supposed to be easy. Reality: College is hard. You have to be prepared to work if you take Dr. B, but he's a superb professor. Knows all his course material to the letter, and as said, he can back it up. College isn't supposed to be a walk in the park, and Dr. B caters to the students who bust their humps.

This man is the best teacher at Iona. Very interesting and very clear with all of his material. Tells you exactly whats going to be on the test. Tough grader on his papers but hey its college its not supposed to be easy.

THIS MAN IS THE SHYT!!!! HE IS ONE OF THE BEST PROFESSORS I EVER HAD AT IONA. HE MADE CLASS INTERESTING EACH AND EVERY TIME. COOL GUY ANY WAY YOU LOOK AT IT!

Dr. B is one of those rare honest professors you'll meet through college. He knows his**** and teaches it well, shows you whats up and tells you how it is. He a person that you cant wait to go get plastered with. End of story.

This guy definitely knows his sh**. His humour is a bit on the risque side, but he's awesome. Be prepared for all his tests and don't hand in any late paper, he will penalize you for it. He's awesome, no book required for class, just ten bucks for his own published notes. If you try hard and do well in his class, he will love you.

He tells you what he wants, it may be hard, it may be difficult, but it's clear. You actually learn and remember things in this class. He's really funny (teasing you amuses him so let him be, it's less time you have to actually learn) and really smart, so it makes up for all the hard work. Really not kidding about the hard work. Don't take if you're looking for an easy good grade.

He's an awesome professor b/c he knows his**** like the back of his hand.I never missed a class b/c he makes it so interesting but when it comes to work, do it how he wants it, STUDY, and you'll have no problem. Its an intense class w/ a lot of information so you need as much time to study as possible. Hes awesome but expects a lot from you.

OK, the man is a bit crazy but he is an awesome teacher. I can't recall many teachers who have that much knowledge about a certain topic. Yes, he is very hard, but you will LEARN SOMETHING. 10 Page paper, 4 quizes, and a 25-30 paragraph final. Long stuff, but he is a good teacher and if you have been attentive to his lectures then your golden.

I simply love the man... his jokes make class fun... he is extremely smart...his tests are not that bad...tells u whats on them..if u can take him definately doo it!!! this is 1 class u will love

Dr B is awesome1 he knows what hes talking about and hes soo funny!! no attendance & no heavy book to carry. there are 2 map quizzes and 2 id quizzes straight out of the book. you basically have all semester to write a 10 pg paper. midterm and final are essays and he gives you the questions in advance. hes great so take him!!!

Dr. B is great, he's so funny and really knows his stuff, you by a book from him thats ALOT cheaper than getting a text book and he's a really fair grader the only hard part might be the id quizzes cuz theres alot to remember but hes cool and the one thing u wanna remember is to do your footnotes right on the paper its a must but def. take him

shah abas! this man was an inspirational professor, his laid back attitude and his unending knowledge make him one of the best professors at iona. I will miss him alot!! take him at least once whether or not you are a HST major. u wont regret it.

he is a very smart person who will teach you something about history, and he even throws in a few jokes while teaching you;which are funny. Make sure you study the map quizzes so you could do good in his class and be prepared to write a paper in the end that needs to be in perfection.

It was fun being in his class. Always had a story to tell that would make the day better. Only problem was that his grade was only based on the midterm and final paper. I think I would've done better if there was more to grade it on. Got a B which isn't that bad. I would recommend him to anyone

I have met a lot of interesting professors in my life. Dr. B tops the list. No doubt he is a hard grader but he is an excellent teacher and knows his work thoroughly. His stories make class even more interesting.

Dr. B is one of the best history teachers in the department. Smart and funny. The quizzes are easy and so is the final. If your not sure about something with the paper, he is willing to take a look at a sample of the first page. Overall great professor.

He is out of his mind, but funny. Likes to talk about inappropriate things and it's hysterical. He does go a little too far sometimes and will insult students. His class is pretty easy. The most difficult thing is the paper he is critical of the footnotes!! The tests are easy as long as you study.

i loved Dr. B! he made class interesting you can do really well in his class as long as you go, take good notes and prepare for the tests, in other words if you put the work into it you'll do well..he tells some crazy stories and he makes history enjoyable.. i wish there were more professors like him at iona

Dr B is amazing..I HATE history, but i looked forward to his class because he was so interesting and engaging... don't EVER fall asleep in his class or zone out, one kid did that in my class, and he never came back...he was called out BAD! he is serious about plagiarism, he will quiz you upon handing in your paper to make sure its your own work.

Dr. B is one of the funniest teachers I have ever had! He's always making jokes and digressing, and he;s a vrey easy teacher. All you have is 2 map quizzes, a 10 page paper, 2 id quizzes, a midterm, and a final. Definitely worth taking.

The class is actually not that bad. It can get boring but he constantly makes jokes about everything. He knows his stuff!! He gives you the midterm and final question ahead of time!! He also assigns a 10 pg paper but the topic is handed out in the beginning of the year and its due a week before finals

Dr B is one of those rare teachers that believe that grades are earned & not given. If you put in the effort, he will help you out any way he can.

Dr. B is an amazing teacher. He tells things as it is. Americans are basically last place to other countries on Education. However, he does not spend ALL of lecture speaking of this. He is a very interesting guy to get to know. If you do ALL you work in that class you will def. get a good grade, if not then you end up screwing yourself up.

Dr. B is hilarious, if you have a crude sense of humor. Though he did constantly talk about his wife and his Porsche, i really didnt mind. Dr. B knows his stuff, and isnt afraid to completely call you out for getting a bad grade or trying to B.S. Gives one map quiz and an 8 page research essay if i'm remembering correctly.

He is one of the best history professors I've ever had. He let's you choose between two papers (one 3 page and one 8 page) instead of a midterm and final. Gives only 4 other essay style tests that if you paid attention in class you will pass even if you didn't study. Lectures from his own cheap book he sells in class. Love him!

I have Dr. B for Western Civ. and he's great. You really just have to stay on your A game. Don't fall asleep in class or be lazy, because if you're a poor student, the whole class will definitely be made aware. You have to pay attention in order to take good notes, he only writes terms on the board. Tests are few, but material heavy. Nice funny guy

Dr. B's class is a class you will not want to pass up on. He is the most intellectual and real teacher at this college. He is hilarious and is straight up about everything.

I took him for Evolution of Western Civilization over the winter (online course). It was 10 essays, one on each chapter. So easy, I got credit for a course and did it in 10 days, AMAZING. He gave us the prompts right after finals in the fall so we had Christmas break to get a head start. Take him for history in the winter if you can. So easy.

Great guy, awful teacher. Dr. B. is funny, nice, and gives it to ya straight. If you're not willing to work really hard for your grade, then do yourself a massive favor and don't take any of his classes. He really knows his stuff and if you ask nicely, he will make a point to help you out.

He is extremely dedicated to his job, not afraid to trash talk about your paper, and should at least have his own cult following. Personally speaking, I highly recommend taking this class because it will forever change the way you watch film/movies. It gave me a whole new perspective on thinking analytically and historically about film and media.

Professor Bournoutian was quite simply the best Professor I ever had. His class was hard but so informative and helpful. I continued to study Soviet and Russian history after his class and soon will go to Russia to start my career there. Rest in peace Dr. B.
