Guy is awesome. He's also an actor/comedian/musician. Very personable, very helpful, and very understanding. He might not be at LAVC for long, so take advantage and get him for one of your courses, if possible. Gonna miss him ;(

Very challenging class! You have to keep up with him or you get lost for the whole lecture. Takes some getting used to, guy LOVES math and expects you to know math from previous levels, which is mandatory for math anyways. Once you get his flow, the class is a breeze, study the odd problems and you will ace his tests.

Took prof for math summer bootcamp-- very warm, kind, funny & overall good guy. Takes time to answer q's w/ worked out explainations on board. Treats each student with care and respect, very approachable, pro-student, and cool prof overall. Highly recommend, take before he finds something better in the entertainment biz cause he's talented. :-)

AMAZING teacher!This course however is not easy and you must completely be dedicated to the work if your striving for an A. Hwk every week except the week of the tests. Tests are composed from book problems do all the problems to ensure your ready.Super helpful and always in a good mood, ready to teach. ADVICE:GET YOURSELF A SOLUTIONS MANUAL!

Amazing professor. I wish the course would have been more in depth but It was an accelerated course and we didn't have any extra time at all. Only take if you're willing to work, but if you are then this is the professor to take.

I had professor Caleodis for both of his stem courses and... he is phenomenal He seriously cares about you and if you need the help he is there for you 100 , may it be in class or replying to your emails. Seriously, if you're having trouble, talk to him Tests are totally fair just make sure to put aside enough time to do all the odd problems

The Best math Teacher Ever

Hands down one of the best professors I've had. He's entertaining and he knows what he's talking about. He will explain everything to you and he is super helpful. I highly recommend!

Insane 5 week winter semester course. Prof Caleodis is THE BEST MATH TEACHER I'VE EVER HAD and I HATE math with a passion! Prof Caleodis made the class fun, entertaining, enjoyable and has the patience of a Saint. He is 1000% there for his students, be it office hours or email and explains the concepts thoroughly. He wants his students to succeed!

I took the winter semester and it was great semester. Professor Caleodis makes his lectures so interesting and motivate students to study. Sometimes he suggest hardest way to solve problem, but it helps to make your brain work. I would recommend to take his class!!!!!!! He is so helpful to students!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Professor Caleodis is an awesome teacher he knows how to make his students laugh. I took it during winter session and he didn't fail to make the course fun while teaching. The class is easy if you pay attention and put time to practice. Good luck!

Great professor. He's funny and makes the class go by fast without too much difficulties. Downside is that he doesn't go in details on the proofs for the formulas so you just have to memorize it. Tests are right off the book so do your homework. Easy to pass but need to put in extra efforts to get an A. Highly recommended.

He was a real big upgrade from my last math 125 teacher. He goes over examples from each section and even has review day before every exam. Hw is online via mymathlab and is due almost every two weeks. As for tests they were pretty much the stuff from each chapter. He makes class more fun and makes it easier to learn math. i would recommend him

Great teacher, funny, good grader, makes the class enjoyable. A lot of teachers have a way of making a subject intimidating he does the opposite. I've never had a better understanding of class material. his tests are straight from the book usually the evens so if your doing bad just do every problem in the book. spends time on questions you ask

Super helpful! Explains everything clear and answers ANY questions you have. The only thing I would say is do not take his class during the summer or winter. I took calc1 during the winter and it went by so fast that I almost failed. When I took him for precal during the fall, I had way more time to breathe. I highly recommend him! No extra credit!

Don't take the accelerated calc class unless you are serious. It is HARD. Hardly any time spent on material, but teacher is very patient. He curved both our grades, but never promised to do so. Go to every class otherwise you'll fall behind. This class requires immense studying, but the teacher is always there for you and understanding.

You need to pay $100 for access to the online homework system. It's an easy 10% of the grade because its hand-holding, and if you get answers right eventually, you get the points. He doesn't use complicated problems in tests, just ones that show you understand concepts. In class, he just does lectures, and book problems, as opposed to his own.

Best math teacher/instructor I've ever had. His students are his priority. He will explain a problem over and over so the entire class gets the criteria of the lesson. First he teaches the subject and simplifies it down to every step in the simplest way possible. His test consist of questions from the book. overall he made calculus easy and fun.

He is awesome and will answer all your questions in class. He always emails you back if you ask questions through email. He is a fair grader and tries to help you understand. The exams are tough but doable. If you want a good grade do the homework, read the book, and do the questions at the end of each section/chapter.

One of the best professor I had for calculus. Patient and enthuasiastic. Attend all of his classes and for final, review the test. I took an accelerated course for Calc 1 and Calc 2. I got an A at both courses. Requires hardwork, determination, and perseverance. Lot of homework. Lenient grader. Calculus is difficult but not impossible.

This guy is hilarious! Definitely made Linear Algebra fun lol! Tests are usually based on your homework, and each test you have a proof or two to do so study the concepts more than the techniques!! Seriously, he made math fun! (for me atleast)He will answer ALL of your questions, even the dumb ones. His email responses are on point! He's an actor!

If you have any knowledge of calculus you won't struggle as much in his class, he is extremely passionate about math, the most passionate professor I've seen to be honest, he teaches accelerated courses and he tries to co operate with the student so they survive from the class, but I would totally recommend him!

This professor is not for lazy people, though he takes the most mundane aspect of math and turns it around into a rollercoaster. I've failed a class of his before, however it was my own doing. He gives the most amount of opportunities I've ever seen from a professor. If you're serious about the subject, take him. He got me interested in math again.

A very nice and funny professor. He was very understanding and would answer your every question on the break or after class. Tests are similar to homework's and will be easy to pass if you practice.

Overall an amazing professor. Knows how to keep the class engaged and motivated even throughout some of the more difficult sections of the course. Tests are a bit difficult, but if you work through the homework and pay close attention in class, you'll do great! Highly recommend.

I took his 6:45 AM Math class, and despite the general exhaustion of the class; Professor Caleodis was always energetic, enthusiastic, and dedicated his time to answer questions during and outside of class, whether through email or office hours. He's funny and diverse with different subjects too. Always a pleasure to chat with.

I was in his Math265Math266 accelerated courses and Math 270. Professor Caleodis is very passionate and enthusiastic and will keep you both focused and entertained during the lectures. The lectures go fast but he makes up for it by helping students with hw questions in the beginning of class. Also, very understanding and may push test date forward.

Calc is not an easy subject but he makes it as easy to understand as possible and FUN even for non math people. He gives you so much partial credit for trying on tests and if you can get an A on the final he will usually give you an A in the class. He is not going to just hand out points for no reason, you have to earn your grade by learning

The material is really hard, but this professor is kind. He answers to all questions and respects his students.

One of the best professors I've ever had. Although Caleodis always makes his lectures engaging and comprehensive, it's definitely not an easy class. You'll need to put a lot of work in order to do well. His exams based on the textbook problems. Don't be afraid to ask questions during class or office hours! He's always there to help.

No dropped tests, no extra credit. However, he gives a LOT of partial credit on tests. Even if your answer is wrong, you'll still get close to full marks as long as your work makes sense apart from whatever small errors. Lectures mostly consist of him solving book problems or questions from students on the board.

I took 265, 266, and 270 with him. Wish he was teaching 263. His exams are fair and gives all problems from the book. If you do not know how to study for math correctly, do not take him. He expects you to study/learn on your own. Does at least two sections a day, so prepare in advance. A lot of HW, at least 15 problems for each section. Love him!

Took him for Math 262. All his test are based of the homework, gets them straight from there, so practice book problems is a must! Very good grader gives great feedback, if you can't self study and ask for help, take another professor! As he is very informative of what is expected at the beginning so don't complain midway.

I took calc 2 with him during the winter semester and he made it great! He's such a good teacher and so caring. He really wants everyone to do good. All calc classes will be difficult to an extent but he makes it enjoyable.

I took him for the Summer, which wasnt as tough as I thought! Dont get me wrong, Calc 2 is hard and his test are tough, BUT YOU WILL LEARN! This professors class isnt for the lazy, YOU HAVE TO WORK! All tests are based off the problems from the book. He is very kind, hilarious and gives a lot of partial credit. He explains the material well!

Caleodis is hilarious and a great professor that made lectures entertaining. His grading criteria is very clear and every test question is pulled from the textbook. Homework is online and he responds very quickly to emails. You need to put in the effort to know the material and he is always there to help.

If Covid19 hadn't happened I probably would have Ace'd the class, but I got sick and fell so far behind I had to drop out 3 weeks before finals. I never understand precal/trig as clearly as Caleodis taught it. He made it easy to understand and very patient, also he's funny. NEVER miss class, go to tutoring and dedicate time to doing HW in advance.

Amazing professor. Calc 2 is by far the hardest class I've ever taken and he made it very easy to understand. Make sure to study the questions from the book because that's what he uses to write the tests. Highly recommended.

Honestly, he is a chill professor, I didn't end up passing the class but that is ok. He taught well and made the students feel comfortable If we didn't understand something. I took him in the winter semester during Covid and would take him again. He uses Web Assign and the Stweart Book for HW. There are 4 tests and one final. Do your best!

Very tough class, you actually have to understand the subject to pass. He uses proctorio so cheating won't fly. No extra credit, but nice grader for tests he gives.

Took Calc II this summer & could not be more satisfied with such a GREAT professor. I was nervous after reading previous reviews, but decided to take a chance anyway. VERY lenient grader - as long as you try, you'll get some credit on tests. Only difficult part was the amount of homework, but should be expected when cramming Calc II in 5 weeks.

By far the best professor I have ever had. His online lectures were amazing and he always knew exactly how to answer your questions. He gives proper feedback for your assignments instead of just a random grade. If you try you will succeed in his course.

Caleodis is great at breaking down the content. Gives examples that are on the exam and will repeat the theory as many times as it requires until you get it. Goes over exams the day after test day. Final exam based on previous exams. Passing the class requires time management and attendance. 262 requires much more time than advertised.Ask questions

This professor made me fall in love with calculus. He is incredibly funny and loves what he does. The class consisted of thorough lectures during class and then daily 5-question homework assignments as well as longer homework assignments through Cengage. You got unlimited tries on Cengage and he would help you out if you needed it. Overall 100/10.

Love this professor but wouldn't take him again as the class was not my favorite teaching style. Very caring though, always encourages questions & makes sure you are not scared to participate.Funny too & cares about students understanding the material. Don't reccomend the 5 week summer class though cus its a LOTTT of work and studying. rlly hard A

I had him over the summer for Math259 (pre calculus). 5 hour long class, with densely packed lectures. He answers any questions you have and thoroughly explains everything. He is very supportive and helpful as well. You will have to pay 60$+ for the online textbook to do the mymathlab hw. There's a lot of hw, but he is overall very good

Very knowledgeable and kind, and his lectures spoon-feed math to you. 40% of your grade is exams (5 total, lowest 1 dropped), 20% is final, and 40% is homework. Generous grader on exams, but doesn't allow calculators even though calculations are tedious. Exams also contained mixed difficulty problems from the book, so expect to study its entirety.

This professor is so chill and is great to work with. His tests and quizzes are very light and you don't need to pay for the Pearson my lab "textbook" which is a bonus! He takes attendance but at the end of class. Overall, he was a great prof!

Caleodis is prob one of the best calc professors out there. Calc is not easy to learn nor teach and he somehow made it as easy as possible to understand. Amazing lectures, 2 HW assignments a week (other than cengage work) graded on accuracy (goes over them later), always answers questions well in class, recorded lectures, and proctored online exams

One of the best math professors I have ever had. I took Math 261 course which covers Calculus I in 5 weeks over the summer. even though the course is intense and you need to study on your own every day for at least 2 hours, the professor is always ready to help you at any time as soon as you email him. his lectures are so amazing and perfect.

Caleodis is a great lecturer and explains math concepts in a way a normal person would rather than just throwing random equations at you. His online class is also convenient. If you missed class, it's ok, he doesn't take attendance and the zoom meetings are all recorded. The homework assignments can be daunting sometimes though, but it is possible

I took him for Calc 1&2. I believe he is the only winter/summer session math teacher. He's a good explainer, friendly, and willing to answer questions. Chill guy. Take Calc with either Caleodis or Mendoza if you can handle the faster pace. I do NOT recommend Vo or Castillo.

Really cool guy and his lectures are clarifying. Gives a lot of homework though and no calculators allowed on exams, so make sure your algebra is on point. Exams were a mixed bag cause problems didn't follow what we learned in lecture so make sure to study from the book practice problems. Pay attention and practice, you will succeed.

Pretty easy class compared to other calc classes I have been in and dropped. Super nice professor. Followed the syllabus and had clear expectations. Grading scale was nice as it wasn't test-heavy. Just listen to lectures and take notes, you'll be good.

Hes good at explaining, but theres only so much you can do in 1hr 1/2. His lectures are definitely NOT ENOUGH which is why he leaves A LOT of hw. You have to study. Imo hes a tough grader when it comes to tests. He also goes all the way up to chapter 12 so the class goes pretty fast as well. (another precal class i was in only went up to chapter 9)
