One of the only teachers at Rutgers that cares about his students!

George Clark is the Best! You get to choose how grades wil be distributed and he's soo approachable, very funny! Looks like ARAGORN from LOrd of the RIngs...well a little older:)
awesome! one of the best profs ever. very interesting, fair and really nice... dont get scared off by his resemblance to charles manson!
Guy is awesome. Kind of resembles a middle-aged hippie, with a quick wit. Keeps class interesting with certain cross-references.

He is an amazing man. Clark will teach you things that he is suppose to teach, but important things about life. He is one of the few professors that will take the time to be with the students.
the only rutgers prof that has ever cared about students. infinite wisdom and a great teacher.
awesome guy.I would def. take any of his classes, he is also faculty advisor for Alpha Zeta...very cool guy, very easy to get along with and keeps class interesting and fun.Even brought us food and drinks for the final exam! :)

Best Prof. @ Rutgers!!! Great Guy, only Prof. to ever learn my name! I took classes he taught just b/c he taught them.. Social responses to env prob & human ecology- nice person too!
Wasn't actually in the class but sat in once, kept going the entire semester even though not enrolled in the class, hes an awesome teacher.
Intro to Human Ecology is interesting
One of the best prof. at Rutgers. Says it like it is and knows his materials. On top of which he is one of the coolest guys you will ever meet
great professor, ne calss he teaches i would recommend you take, not onyl agreat teacher but agreat person as well
George is one of the best profesors here are RU. Take any class of his, and become an EPIB Major. He and Roy make Cook, Cook!!!
George is the best teacher I've ever had. Brilliant man, incredible lecturer, slow-paced and on the students' level. Tests are a breeze, guaranteed A's, very interesting class, only 3 papers due, films are good and TA's are very nice. Overall, A+ class!
Dr Clark is a true Professor, with the best teaching and effective communication styles I have known at RU.
awesome teacher, nice guy, AND tells you the meaning of life.
awesome guy that George Clark....
I love this man. I wish he wasnt married cause then I would be knocking down his door. I hate his class cause the subject matter is so ****ing boring, but he rocks! He really is the best, get rid of your multicultural requirments with his classes. There are lots of movies too.
Great Guy
Prof. Clark is such a nice guy. However the class is kind of hard if you get a bad recitation teacher, Sandra is horrible so if u get her GET OUT OF HER SEC! All you really have to do tho is read all the stories and go to class and see the movies.
Awsome teacher! He has a great personality and is pretty damn funny. The class is interesting but resitation sucks.
Do not take this course if he teaches it!! He spends the whole class period talking about topics not related to the class. He does not stick to the syllabus or subject at all. The book is a waste of money. And he does not provide notes or provide info for the tests, can be vage.
gotta love his stories hes a great guy
Lots of reading but if you go to class and take good notes you'll be fine. He's really funny. Tests are long but not hard (as long as you've been to class and studied).
Dr. Clark is my all-time favorite Rutgers professors. He truly loves what he does and he really cares about his students. His stories are great. I highly recommend all of his classes. I will go out of my way especially to take his Social Resp. class next spring before graduation
Any class with George Clark is a class worth taking
Probably the most over rated professor at Rutgers.Cares about his students and is more than fair, but the information is very boring and there is far too much reading.Tests are easy if you read everything and know it well. Recitation is pointless but a big part of the grade
I can't a bad word about him or else I'll get struck by lightening
Good professor, but a little overrated. Easy class if you read the articles.
Good, funny, gives the meaning of life at the end of the semester. Recitation is pointless to the point of embarassment. No recitation needed.
George is a great teacher, very easy to get along with, grades fair, and never gives huge amounts of work. Definitely take a class just to know an awesome guy.
As an alumnus, Dr. Clark is one of the professors I will remember at RU. (and one of the few I will not actively strive to forget) Beyond the material he is one of the best men I have ever met. He'd give you the shirt off his back if you needed one and went out of his way to help me as an adivisee and a student in his class.
this guy is unbelievable. had no interest at all in this subject but the movies and readings and some of his lectures were really interesting. class is an easy A unless your a failure. i got over a 72/70 on 1 exam. satsuki takahashi is the best TA, take this class it's a win-win
The class was interesting. There were a lot of readings. George is amusing and insightful, and tried his best to be unbiased regarding the subject matter.
He's an awesome teacher- and knows his stuff. A lot of readings (though many are long and some are dull) but he makes them interesting. His TA's are crazy about him, and so is just about every one of his students. Cool guy, and even lets us have class outside if it's a nice day. Who else does that?
Take this class!! This is a nesscessary course for any complete college education. I feel sorry for the kids at other schools who don't get to take this course.
Dr. Clark is amazing
one of my favorite teachers i have ever had. Teaches at an intesting level, knows his stuff and is very flexible because he realizes each student has a life outside of school
Mr. Clark is an amazing professor. Can't wait to take another one of his classes
Absolute best professor and course at Rutgers University. You can take something out of every single class.
Intro the human ecology is the best class at rutgers, and the best class ive ever taken in my life. this class should be a must for all rutgers grads, its an easy grade and you learn a lot about our society and its environment, you wont regret taking this course. plus he looks like a caveman! dr. clark is so awesome, and so is his t.a. satsuki!!!!!
THE BEST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD!!!
One of the coolest professors of all time!!! I highly recommend taking him!
this is to the ignorant fool who referred to dr.clark as a prehistoric caveman...learn to respect ur professors and maybe u wont sound like such an idiot...easy class and very interesting..highly recommended!
"You are a f*cking idiot whoever said that first comment, and that's an understatement," said the caveman.
f'in awesome! the class is easy and somewhat intersting.. he's really funny and just a down to earth, nice guy. may look a little scary (he says like a unibomber) but just a real great guy. TAKE THIS CLASS!
He's not a good teacher. Attendance is required and his lectures suck. In order to do well in this class, you have to do the readings on your own and do some papers throughout the semester. Overall, he's not a good professor and smells like crap from his pipe smoking. Not a difficult class though.
I found Dr.Clark to be one of the most engaging, funny, down to earth professors I've ever had. I had no interest or any idea what the class was about before it started but halfway through I was actually enjoying the material! The TA's are GREAT and I think I came out of the class with a different outlook on life. GREAT GUY. GREAT COURSE.
The best at Cook campus, there is not other like him as long as u do ur work u'll be great and at the end of the semester u get the meaning of life and refreshments
PLEASE DO NOT LISTEN TO THESE FOOLS!!! They obviously drank too much natti ice throughout the semester at their frat parties and failed the class. DR. Clark is one of the greatest people you will ever meet. He has the marbles to come to class and faculty meetings looking the way he does; which is pretty damn cool. Take everything you can with him
Great class, Kristen = good TA, interesting topics, clark is a hippie
This is actually the fouth and final class I get to take with Clark, He is awesome. This class, research methods, is the most boring out of the four but the others are great. Human ecology helped my decision to change my major environmental policy His T.A Satsuki is gorgeous I want to marry her cuz she is my hot asian fantasy
this guy is really really nice and helpful.. the recitation class can be fun but it depends on who you get... you watch movies and he explains the chapter thoroughly.. did i mention he is nice. For the exams just reading the articles and understanding the conept will help get u 100s... and on final he will being u refreshments :))
Great guy, generally fun classes.
Prof. Clark is very cool. However, this course demands a lot of time to get an A. Lots of reading, writing, recitation, and lecture. The exams are very long and all essay. There's a sign-in sheet for lecture and recitation that is part of your grade. Just be prepared to work hard for an A.
I agree, Prof. Clark is cool, but his courses are challenging. You have to read, go to every lecture, and write long papers. His tests are difficult and are almost all essay, and very long! I've had him twice and will again, and know to expect to devote a lot of my time to his course. That's just his style.
BEST F'IN CLASS EVER! HIS LECTURES ARENT BORING AND HES ONE OF THE FUNNIEST OLDER MEN I KNOW! FOR ALL YOU BOBO'S OUT THERE - THIS CLASS IS FOR YOU, AND EVERYONE ELSE CAUSE ITS ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT!!!!!
He is a really nice man. This is my third semester with him and I am looking forward to taking more of his classes. So big deal, you've gotta study, ITS COLLEGE. Besides he makes it fun and his movies are really interesting. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
I love this man.. Class is like story time. You get so wrapped up in what he's saying that you almost forget that you're learning. Allows students to choose grading system (I didnt like that but Im sure many will). Very informative helpful and understanding. Makes class worth attending. Oh, and he wrote/compiled the textbook.
Professor Clark is one of the most devoted teachers left in RU.The class is straight forward if you read the book. The exams are based on the case studies in it along with the films and the assigned books. He will explain the important points from the articles during lecture so make sure you write them down because the will be on the exam.Good Class
awesome teacher. you have to do all the work tho or he won't give you a grade in the end. keeps class interesting and is very funny. easy to talk to and has a lot of insight on the world and life. exams are made by TAs but they're not hard, 3 papers which are not bad. DEF TAKE THE CLASS!
His class is a very good eye opener to those who have no insight about the unintended consequences of our daily actions.Tests are based mainly on the reader, and concepts from the 3 movies are in the exam.It is very easy to get a decent grade as long as you read the reader.Keep in mind that he doesn't grade the tests...the TA's do.
Great teacher, Interesting and full of wisdom. Readings are boring but could be Much worse. Keeps things interesting. Recommended. I'm taking him again :)
He looks like Charles Manson, but he has a heart of gold. This is the best professor you will ever take at Rutgers.
amazing teacher- best i had at rutgers. understanding & helpful. insightful. speaks with his eyes closed- fun to watch.
Great person, extremely helpful and nice. He mostly tells stories in lecture so you will learn a lot of the material in recitations (attendance taken). The class does require some work (papers, exams, presentations), but it is not difficult and a lot of it is discussing your opinion. Overall great class where you learn about human/env. interaction.
George Clark is the best professor I ever had. He was not only a good instructor, but he cared about his students. The ratings for him are beyond an A+ in my mind.
BEST PROFESSOR EVER. I LOVED HIM!
Great professor. Very wise and insightful, very kind too. Recommend him for sure.
Clark is an awesome guy. Really laid back and really cares about his students. However, all the assignments and tests are given and graded by your TA so who that is makes a big difference. It's interesting material but it's also a decent amount of work (not difficult work though). I recommend this class, you'll learn A LOT.
Really great teacher, cares for his students and his lectures are very interesting because most of them are off the top of his head. Lets class decide how many exams we take and how all the assignments are weighted.
Prof. Clark is the best thus far. I love him! He covers great material and makes class interesting. He doesn't read off of slides or textbooks but reading the text is important. Lots of material but he is laid back, funny, and amazing. (little crush on him....til this day) Great professor ever!
I really enjoyed this class. The subject is interesting and the tests are very open. It's absolutely necessary to read the textbook to get a good grade though, although the readings aren't too bad and are very informative.
He is soo good!!!! I don't want to say anything more..easy class, easy B+ (at least), and great professor!!!
Easy class. attendance mandatory, interesting subject, but very one sided. Test are all open choice and easy to pass even if you dont read the book. Take notes from the TA and you will be fine. Just know the authors point and name and BS the rest on the tests. Nice man and great GPA booster.
great guy all around.
Dr. Clark is the MAN. the most enlightened person I've ever met. he will tell you more about yourself than you even know. take any class with him and i guarantee it will be fun
Professor Clark is the BEST professor at Rutgers. His Intro to Human Ecology class is seriously life changing. I can't wait to take another one of his classes. He's so insightful and willing to help if you need it, with anything. Attendance mandatory, but it doesn't matter because the class makes you want to go. TAKE HIM!
Professor Clark is awesome. Although attendance is mandatory, it is one class that you really don't want to miss for all the right reasons. Intro to Human Ecology has been my favorite class thus far at Rutgers. It is not a lot of work and exams are pretty simple (about 5 pages of writing). Allows class to vote on # of exams. Must take his class!
Professor George is an extremely intelligent, thoughtful, and down-to-earth man. His lectures are thought-provoking and the readings perfectly compliment the material he discusses. He is a fair grader and the exams are simple if you follow the readings and attend class. Most importantly, you will leave class feeling like you've learned something.
I will miss DR. Clark because he has shown me what life is really about. This is a vital class for everyone to take at rutgers. I am going to cry when I have to depart from this class. It is the best class at rutgers. Dr Clark deeply cares about his students and is willing to help with ANY problem. Please take this class. It will not disapoint you.
Professor Clark opened my eyes to the world we live in. He has taught me so much about myself, and how I can do my part in my lifetime. This is the best course I have taken at Rutgers, and he is a phenomenal, legendary teacher who truly cares about his students and the world. I am so lucky to have the opportunity to take this class.
Coolest nicest professor in the entire world. Literally. If you graduate without having taken a class (or 4) with him, you will have missed out big time. Let's students pick grade weighting and how many tests and assignments there will be. Great personality, very helpful, and he brought like $200 worth of food to al his finals :)
One of the wisest man I've ever met. You will learn A LOT in this class, and best of all it is not burdensome at all. Basically, this class introduces you to the world of humanities and broadens your view of this world.. A must-take to fulfil your cultural requirement.
Clark is one of the best professors in the 374 dep. You can stay after class for an hour talking to him about anything. He is super helpful and all of his classes are interesting. PRE gets a little slow at times, but he brings it back to whats going on in the world. He is also my major adviser and is super helpful getting the system to work.
Two words to describe Clark: THE MAN..Take all four of his classes you will not regret it
He's an awesome professor with really interesting classes - DEFINITELY take something with him if you can! it's not that hard to get a good grade plus you'll learn a lot from him. wish he taught all my classes!
I have taken all four classes that George teaches, and every single one of them was amazing. He is by far the best instructor I've had at this university. Take his classes, you won't regret it, and you'll actually learn something.
Professor Clark is a wonderful man to have class with. You actually learn, he inspires critical thinking instead of memorization and frequently includes humor into the class to keep it interesting. Definitely take his classes!
He gave me a new perspective in life. He is one of the only professors who can ever do that and being able to connect to his students is remarkable. This class as he also said it is very practical. But I think that you can find other life lessons just from paying attention to him speak.
favorite class all semester. great teacher easy exams. just go to recitation
BEST TEACHER AT RUTGERS! He makes his classes easy to do well in and is very helpful. I wish i could have ALL my classes with him
He's honestly the perfect professor. If he sees you once, be it in office hours or not, he will remember you. He's a very sweet man who is deep with his subject matter. He's very clear and helpful at all times. His lectures get you thinking. He provides refreshments for you at the final! His class was SUPER easy. He gave us the meaning of life.
The Best Professor at Rutgers, lets you choose how many exams you want and how much material will be on them. He is honestly the nicest guy and keeps his class interesting by showing movies and telling stories. Everyone at Rutgers should at least take one class with him.
Really great guy. Gets to know his students on a personal level and uses their input in his classes often. The readings for the class are very boring, but Clark as a professor makes it worth taking. Also a fairly easy A, as long as you do the work.
Great Guy one of the best I would highly recommend his class.
Great teacher!! Take his class, he's an interesting guy and an awesome person. His TA Ali was a little tougher than the others with making the exams but she's okay.
easy A. he lets you vote how many tests you take, when you take them, and he brings snacks to the final. movies at least onc a week and 55 min lectures. interesting class and Julia the TA is amazing. study guides for every exam with answers in the textbook. highly recommended!
One of the best professors. I didn't participate all semester, and he still knew my name and said hi to me. His population course is slightly more difficult than human ecology, but it is definitely manageable. Just be sure to read the textbook carefully.
This dude is Rutgers. One of the most insightful people you'll meet. He will inspire you to make difference. Must take this eye opening class.
DO NOT TAKE. I have serious problems with this class. Many of the readings are over 30 years old. Only conclusion the class leads you to is that "everyone has their own opinion." If I wanted to take a class on how to argue my opinions, I could've taken expository writing. Never been more disappointed with a class. Not worth the effort at all.
Most laid back professor I have had and he has discussions every class. The class is pretty interesting and makes you think about life in a different sort of way. Highly recommend it
every rutgers student should take a class with dr. clark. best professor. keeps material interesting, great discussions. learn a lot. material not too difficult. easy to get an A. take him!
Dr. Clark was fantastic. Intro to Human Ecol is a must take class. It provides you with a perspective on our relationship world that no other class will. Moreover, he understands that this is an intro course and designed the class to be easy. Listen to lecture and go to recitation - this is the key to doing well in his class.
You have not truly experienced Rutgers New Brunswick unless you have taken one of his courses. George Clark is an intelligent, wise, concise, straightforward and all around great professor.
This guy owns Cook campus, great person and teacher. He is not the most exciting but he is just about the best professor I have taken here at Rutgers. He actually knows the meaning of life, he'll tell you before the end of class! Have fun
Professor Clark is my favorite professor so far. I learned a lot in his class and used the material often throughout my other classes. He's extremely funny and it is obvious he cares for his students. I strongly recommend you take his class before graduating just for the experience.
Clark is literally so wise. I would sometimes fall asleep in class and wake up towards the end, but his closing statements always resonated with me. You can tell he cares about his students a lot, and he wants to see them do well. The tests are a little tougher than expected, but I guess that's because I sleep through class. It's def worth it tho!
Professor Clark is the man. He looks like a Galdof mixed with the peacefulness of a monk plus an awesome pipe he smokes before class. He is super approachable and his class is extremely interesting. I would recommend it to anyone. It does require a lot of reading, but the reading are interesting. Read the book and go to class. Easy A.
He's a great professor to know if you're an EPIB major. He really cares about students and wants everyone to do well.
George is bae. I had him for human econ and pre and he's by far my favorite professor. You discuss topics that are relevant and the coursework is really interesting. Relatively easy if you go to class/read the book. 10/10 would recommend. He is super approachable and a real chill dude. I want to be him when i grow up
Clark is a great dude. Serious about his work, but knows when to have a laugh here and there. I'm a current freshman at Rutgers, and I must say that Clark's Intro to Human Ecology class is so far the best class I've taken, And, for the final, he brings food!! And candy during holidays!! Can it get better than that? Awesome class man.
I get that this is an easy class, but I don't understand why people rave about him. I learned a lot but this was the most boring class I had this semester. Good lecture to sleep in and still get an A I guess as long as you skin the articles. Really liked my TA though.
Best professor I've had at Rutgers very approachable, wise and kind professor.
Clark is one of the best professors Rutgers has to offer. I was not too interested in Human Ecology but he really made the class interesting. Every class Professor Clark would have the class laughing. There was minimal homework. If you just skim the articles and pay attention in recitation, you'll get a good grade. Highly recommended.
Clark is a great professor! He integrates some of his life stories into the current class topics which makes the class much more interesting! His exams were harder than expected but manageable. PS. don't wait the night before to write his papers...
George is one of the best teachers I have ever had at Rutgers. I'd recommend any of his courses.
This man is a legend and this class will be one of the best decisions you ever made taking.
GFC is the man. Definitely take him before graduating. You will learn a ton from him and his lectures are enlightening. Took PRE after human ecology and assumed it would be another easy A. It wasn't, and I had to work for my B. Exams are much harder and there are 2 tedious papers that are a pain to write. One good thing is there is no recitation.
He's a caring, enchanting wizard. If you take one of his lecture classes, grab a seat in the front. His beard must catch some soundwaves or something because it sounds like he's whispering if you're in the back. His syllabus isn't specific so unless you copied it from the board, you won't know what you're talking about that day
he's a really nice guy and he's good to know if you're an epic major! he overviews the apartment!
Hes a great professor. The class is not hard at all. If you read and listen to lectures you'll definitely pass. Lectures can be dry at times but I'd take this class again
Intro to Human ecology is an easy course if you go to lecture and the key to doing well in the exams is literally doing the study guide posted on Sakai. He is a great professor and wants more kids to get life lessons out of this course. Make sure to attend all lectures, he will tell an emotional and personal story that is important to hear:)
Very good guy. I took intro to human ecology, and the assigned readings were all interesting, lectures were good as with recitation. No bs in this class either, as there was a sense of purpose and relevancy behind all the assigned materials and readings. Fully enjoyed this class, and I highly recommend it! Must take for bio majors.
Amazing professor! Still visit him during his office hours even though I don't take his class anymore. The class is easy as long as you do the readings and attend recitation. He enjoys teaching and cares sincerely for his students. The course is interesting and fun.
Prof. Clark's class was by far my favorite of the whole semester. He's super chill and has really funny, short newspaper articles that he'll share before he starts his lecture. This class was easy but also eye opening. I definetly would recommend it.
great guy, interesting class, and would definitely take again
Very chill guy, very chill class. Honestly one of the easiest classes I have ever taken. Very lenient grading. The only thing you have to do to do well on the exams is to review the study guide he posts and review a quizlet of all the authors and the summaries of their articles. Didn't even read articles.
This guy is the man I tell you. He is an awesome guy that's it. One of the few things that aren't great are the lectures which can be monotonous and negative. They're negative because he talks about the problems in the world and forces you to be aware of how you treat the environment which ultimately is a good thing.
I had Dr. Clark for several classes. I was an EPIB major, 2009 grad. Dr. Clark is AMAZING! He's intelligent, and wants you to succeed and will go above and beyond if you show that you care about the class, even if you're not an A or B student. Participating and engaging in discussions matter to him. He gives extra credit and enjoys teaching. COOL!!
you learn some good stuff in this class!
Clark was great. I honestly loved his teaching and the films in class.
Prof Clark is the best. His class is pretty chill and was my favorite this semester. There are a lot of readings though, all of which are on the exam. He goes over them in class so you don't really have to read them.
Professor Clark is an amazing dude! I believe it was his intention to make Human Ecology a very easy class which is much appreciated! I heard he is retiring after this semester which stinks for the students who didn't get the chance to have him as a professor!
So much to say, but so few characters. Dr. Clark was probably the best professor I ever had at any institution ever. Aside from introducing human ecology, he was able to change the way I think in certain ways. That's probably the ultimate testament. Showing up to class is valuable and important. Great documentaries and life lessons provided!
Never met another professor in my life that instilled such faith and positive values in humanity. Always humble, slow to anger and appropriate sense of humor as necessary. I have carried a piece of George with me wherever I go. To have him for 3 courses was an honor.
