Really nice guy. As long as you do you homework, which is not that hard, go to class, and actually put in some effort youll do fine. I meet with him before exams and he was really helpful.

Really nice guy but keep in mind Chem is a hard subject. It is intro to Chem so if you stay on top of it it's not that bad. He goes over everything in class and is always willing to answer questions. What it boils down to is that its a lecture hall class and your grade really does depend on the effort you put in.

Nice guy. I thought his tests were easy. For test problems he has multiple steps as questions so it guides you through the process which made it easier. His notes in class were very helpful so I recommend attending class.

I'm not interested in the subject at all so class is boring, but he is clear and his notes are easy to follow, even though he makes mistakes sometimes. His tests are pretty easy, he does 5 problems together as a step by step process to big equations. He is definitely understanding if you need to miss class.

get old exams and you will get A's. class was easy, and he is a great guy.

He's such a nice guy. If you have access to exams, it would definitely be helpful (I didn't and still did ok). He was genuinely trying to test what you know, and doesn't try to trick you. I never went to class and learned from book. Know formulas and how to use them. Lots of problems on exam.

He is an extremely nice guy, and he really loves his job teaching chemistry. I've talked to him a few times and he is very helpful with any kinds of questions you have for the class. I recommend trying to get him as your professor if you are taking chm103.

dombi is an extremely nice guy and he is so helpful. He may not be the best at teaching to a large lecture, but if you go to him during his office hour he is a great help and really explins the information well. If you put in the time and effort you will get a good grade. He is really much nicer once he knows you so go say hello!

Dr. Dombi is a sweetheart and really tries to help you pass. A lot of people dont use the book but I did because he uses powerpoints to teach and I do not learn well unless explained. Exams are a lot of multiple choice and he gives points back if a lot of people get a question wrong. Work hard and you will be successful!

Such a sweet old man. I found general chemistry to be easy, and Dr. Dombi genuinely wants his students to pass. If you have to take this class, take it with him.

Even though the lectures are long, he really makes them interesting and engaging fir his students. He gives plenty of oppurtunities to get extra credit points even if you're not doing so well on exams.

Dr. Dombi is an excellent chemistry professor. His lectures are very clear cut and the material is straightforward. However, this is chemistry so it's NOT easy. If you want an A, you will be doing all the homework (worth a test grade, which is good), go to all SI sessions and go to his office (he's insanely nice). The tests are very watered down.

Dombi is one of the best professors I've ever had. He makes chemistry so easy and if you put the work in it's an easy A. Go to class, do owls, and study a little the night before. I didn't find his exams too hard. If you study from old exams you'll do really well on his exams. I love his teaching style. Highly recommend.

Dr. Dombi is a great professor. He is available and caring. He sends emails often which is useful. He hands back the exams which makes it very easy to ace the final. URI offers so many resources for chemistry.

Very clear and understandable notes. Class isn't mandatory but it's best to not skip it due to clicker points and his explanations of the info. on the slides. Gives you a lot of outlets and tools to study so it's really up to you to put the work in. Overall, an extremely enjoyable professor, and I would 100% take another one of his classes again.

Dombi is a good guy and just wants his students to succeed. The course can be brutal but he gives multiple resources to help you practice as long as you actually take advantage of them. Exams were extremely difficult. I recommend going to his office hours, getting a good tutor, and be prepared to put in lots of work.

Dombi is so nice and he really just wants his students to to do well. The course is hard, and I recommend going to class since clicker problems points go towards your grade. His Exams are difficult but he does give a lot of partial credit. Make sure you do your OWL's the ones at the beginning are so much easier! DO THEM and the quizzes online

He is such a sweet and caring teacher! This class is very easy as long as you study. I would start studying at least 3 days before the exam and ended up with a B in the class. Class is not mandatory. Dombi gives you enough opportunities to earn clicker points. If you can, take this class with Dombi instead of Brittain!!!

This class was fairly easy, as long as you pay attention in lecture. Make sure you understand every slide on his power points and you should pass. I would recommend going to his office hours if you don't understand something because he is very helpful. Do the practice tests in the skills book because those prepare you the most for his tests.

Dr. Dombi is so far the best professor Ive had at URI. Hes a very lenient grader, often taking off half a point for a totally incorrect answer. Chm 103 is very difficult but Dombi is very helpful, patient & is willing to take the time to make sure you understand the material. Lots of hw but it counts as an exam grade. Def take this course with him

Dr. Dombi is a great professor! Very homework heavy, but it counts as a full exam grade which can be an easy A if you stay on track and DO NOT PROCRASTINATE! My best tips for success are to do well on the first two exams (they're the easiest) so you have wiggle room, and to always rewrite your notes after class using the PPTs he posts. Good luck!

VERY homework heavy. The lectures can be boring, but he's the cutest little thing. He wants everyone to pass and engages with the class if you have questions, but doesn't pester for participation. As long as you pay attention in lecture, you'll pass. It's easy to fall behind with hw so try to do as much as possible in the beginning of the semester.

Dombi is the nicest person you will ever meet in your life. He's adorable, but in a grandpa kind of way. He goes through slides fast & breezes through topics so make sure you pay attention & take thorough notes. First two exams are the easiest so do well. Would recommend seeing him for extra help, super helpful. DO YOUR OWL, it will catch up fast.

Professor Dombi is so sweet and adorable I want him to adopt me as his grandchild. He goes through lecture topics a little too quickly for my liking, but his office hours are extremely helpful. He definitely cares for his students and wants them to pass. Also do your OWL! It helped save my grade.

He doesn't always explain concepts clearly, but Dr. Dombi does give his students many resources to help them succeed, including ample office hours. Sometimes he goes through his lectures a little fast, but given the class structure and semester schedule, it's understandable. He's personable, so don't be afraid of approaching him if you're stuck.

Solid 4-4.5 choice. Hes real good, and his office hours are great, frequent, and incredibly accessible (literally 5 feet from the buildings entrance). Hes also really chill too. Never have to worry about stepping on eggshells with him, and hes approachable. Beef up your grade with TurningPoint lecture questions in class

It helped that I already took chemistry in high school but he taught the course very well. Electronic participation is important though in class since it counts towards your overall grade. Lots of ways to earn extra credit.

A very material heavy course but he makes it a little easier. Very accommodating and willing to work with you. Ultimately has his students best interest at heart. Would recommend this course.

I had never taken chemistry before in my life before starting this class. All I can say is that Prof. Dombi has helped me do so well in a class that I had never taken prior. I highly recommend going to his office hours when you need help understanding a concept and bringing the skills book he offers with you. I am truly going to miss him.

I took AP Chemistry in high school which made this class extremely easy. Do your OWL online homework because he will give you a 100 for an exam grade if you complete all of it by the end of the semester. Very caring and approachable. Always very helpful in office hours and wants everyone to succeed. No surprises- very straightforward.

Dr. Dombi is the sweetest man ever. Only wants students to succeed so there are NO surprises. Clearly explains subject material, but you have to go to class to understand it because it is chemistry. Do the HW points to get a bonus 100 on an exam. He also offered test corrections for the first exam and there are review sessions with the TA. Awesome!

If you want a good grade get the skills book! Doesn't come w/answers to the problems but if you meet w/him he'll go over anything w/you he's very helpful. I'd glance over the ppt slides b4 exams & do work in the skills book (there's a lot of practice problems) and got A's on all of them b/c the practice problems are Q's from old exams he's given

Professor Dombi was the best! Chemistry is a difficult subject, but he makes it so much better. He truly wants all his students to be successful. He gives you a variety of ways to learn the material; lectures, reading, homework assignments, review sessions, etc. He is very easy to reach and is quick to answer emails. I had a great experience!

I LOVE this man. He was such a kind soul and very willing to help his students succeed. As long as you keep up with the work he assigns, you will pass with flying colours. I was always an A/B student in high school and the lowest exam I ever got was 86% with no studying beforehand. LOVE Dombi!!! :)

I took his class online and attendance was optional. If you went to class he was super helpful. You could always reach him by email, and he's a really kind professor

Dr. Dombi is so kindhearted and caring. I really enjoyed taking his class. His lectures are very good and engaging. He provides you with many homework opportunities that help a lot with what the exam will be like. The only thing is practically all of your grade will come from exams with the exception of a small homework grade.

Mr. Dombi really cares about his students; he is easily accessible for help. He uses in class polling and is willing to go over topics you don't fully understand. His exams are pretty straight forward, and you will do well if you put the effort in. He is the best professor!!!!!!!

He's very nice. He really does want to see his students learn and do good. This was my hardest class by far though so be prepared to study a lot. He's very easy to reach out of class and the workload is very manageable which is appreciated. My only kind of complaint is that this course is very expensive in regards to course material.

Professor Dombi is the best chem professor. He is extremely sweet, easy to talk to and is extremely helpful and willing to take his time to explain hisself so you understand. When it comes to the material, follow the syllabus and try not to miss a date because it is a lot of work. If you stay on top of it the class will be somewhat easy.

Homework schedule is on points, so u can skip stuff if u need to, but it's also rlly easy to fall behind. Lectures are pretty boring but prof is a nice guy. Dr. Dombi is a sweet man who cares about chemistry! I enjoyed having him teach me and he was extremely accommodating to changing the final exam format from in person to online since Exam 4 was 3 days away from it. The tests were mostly in-person online with around 50 questions. He lets you have a "cheat sheet" and if you study you'll be fine!

I enjoyed taking CHM 103 with Dombi. His lectures can be confusing sometimes and he can go off on tangents but he cares a lot about his students and is a really nice man. Lectures are not madatory but you should definetely try and make it. Lots and lots of homework but if you manage your time you'll be good.

His lectures are hard to stay focused on, but he provides office hours and is a huge help there. I really recommend attending them. Attendance isn't required but there is participation for the class that counts towards your grade.

Dr. Dombi is a great professor. His lecture is a bit difficult to follow but theres tutoring sessions and you can always ask him question. If you miss an exam he will let you make it up. There is a ton of homeowork and assignments outside of exams. id say about 2-3 hours work a week maybe more. he doesnt answer emails for days tho.

One of the best professors I've ever had. I never liked chemistry but Dr. Dombi made the class incredibly easy to understand. He was always there to help and tried to explain everything in ways that were easy to understand. His lectures were enjoyable, and we were very well-prepared for the tests. There's a lot of homework, but it was manageable.

I took CHM 103 over the summer and while it was rough because it was well, summer, I liked the formatting. Attendence will only help you gain points for your grade and not attending won't hurt you as long as you do everything else but it's helpful to go to lectures as sometimes he has us make up questions that would be put on the exams.

The sweetest man ever! The class is difficult if you're not a big chem person, but he genuinely cares about his students success and makes it so easy to pass the class. Participation in lectures is really up to you, if you sit in the front and choose to answer questions he is very helpful and sweet, but you don't have to. Overall the sweetest soul!

Professor Dombi is such a great person. I think he's one of the best teachers we have at this school. He loves his job and is very kind. Show up to all his lectures and pay attention! and if you do stay off your phone! You can tell he gets sad when people don't show up or pay attention. There are around 100 kids in my class only around 20 show up.

I love Dr Dombi! I was terrified to take chemistry, but he made it enjoyable by being silly and interactive and I loved attending his lectures despite them being early in the morning. There is a lot of homework, but he is understanding when it comes to deadlines. Exams are tricky, but you're always allowed a cheat sheet!

Professor Dombi is an angel sent from heaven he is so sweet. If you take a chemistry lecture make sure its with him. there is a lot of homework especially on OWL but they are generally pretty easy and dont take up too much time. attendance is not mandatory. take this class.
