Professor Gastil is a wonderful lecturer. Everytime I went to class he laid out what the test was on, and how we could do well. The only problem was the amount of writing. Either way, I recommend him, hes a great proffesor.

Do not take this class if you work full time. You will have multiple essays due almost every week with discussions. Ensure you respond to your peers or do not take the credit for the discussion. He will have you get two textbooks. You will use one for most of the class and the smaller one at the end of the class.

I took History 101 this semester. This was a easy class IF you have good time management. Expect to write a lot. On the bright side, Professor Gastil is an easy grader, which makes it a little better for the amount of work due each week.

Be prepared to put more effort into this class than any other. Multiple essays per week, discussion boards, and a picky grader. He responds fast to emails, he is there to help you whenever you need. But, the work load was heavy and only got harder.

I didnt love/hate professor Gastil. He assigned way too many writing assignments but was really helpful when asking for an extension on assignments. He cares about his students and wants everyone to pass just the only problem I had with this class is that I never had time to do the assignments since there were 4 assignments due each week.

An unsuccessful teacher who annoys students and tries in various ways to tire the student. I do not recommend taking a lesson with him.

Incredibly tough teacher with far too many essays especially compared to my other history courses. it was a class of stamina and it was insanely hard to keep up. the biggest piece of advice is to communicate with him about how its going and how you need support.

This was by far the best class I took ever! It was super easy and chill. I passed with a 108%. He graded pretty easy. He did give a lot of essays though. But on the bright side NO QUIZZES! There were only discussion boards and essays. Person that may potentially be reading this I recommend you to take this professor if you need a history class.

There was a lot of writing in this course, but it's tolerable. Grading is pretty lenient (as long as you're trying your best) and you can tell the professor definitely is passionate about what he does. No exams or quizzes, just discussion posts and essays. Textbook can be found online, so if you need a quick course to fill a GE, take him!

This professor is great - lots of opportunities for extra credit and he'll work with you if you're falling behind. The essays can be time-consuming, but Unstuck AI was super helpful for prepping. Overall, an easy GE class with a lenient grader.
