He is a very good teacher. He explains all the information you need to know before he actually makes you write your essay. He is always available to help if you ask him. Does a lot of group projects to help us out. I am really enjoying his class.

I really liked Mr. Gibson. His class was easy and he gives a lot of in class group assignments about stories and topics to help you understand better. He is always willing to help outside of class if you need him and he is very easy when it comes to writing essays. He explains the material for essays very thoroughly.

Hes Great!... this class is interesting. I had him at the end of the day but still stayed awake. He goes over alot of Forensics and Mysteries. I actually wanted to go to class and he is always there if you fall behind.

This guy isn't bad at all. He's quite sarcastic and usually has interesting things to say about himself. He gives the room a comfortable atmostphere, in my class's case. His papers aren't long at all and he reads them (if you want him to) before you turn them in to help you out. Lots of readings, but most are on similar topics. VERY interesting.

This is Woug, and Mr. "Swag" is the best teacher at southeastern. He helps students out on anything. if u fail his class you are really really dumb or something.

Absolutely love this teacher. I am a sucker for a sarcastic teacher, and he is very much one of those. He is very funny, and gives us interesting topics to write about. He lets us debate our issues, and we have an absolute blast. He is very helpful and makes me want to go to class. I am going to be looking for other classes he teaches.

His class is pretty easy, but it's a little boring. His voice is very monotone so it's hard not falling asleep.. especially in the very bland setting of DVics. If you want a teacher who is pretty lenient on grades, take him.

Good teacher and pretty easy. I really liked him. Write several papers. He gave us the topic of our final before hand so I had written it already and just brought that into the final and wrote it in my bluebook. Lots of serial killer stuff. There is some group work and you do have to stand up in front of the class once.

He was very funny. He chose stories and articles that were interesting. He was always able to hold my attention in class.

Once you get through the Forensic Argumentive essays you should be ok. The is no extra credit and your only grades come from the papers you write. There were a few quizes and vocabulary tests, but they counted nothing. I dont even know why I wasted my time studing for them. If you want to be a thinker, take him!

My English 101 teacher did not help me prepare at all for 102, but Gibson really knows how to teach this course. I highly recommend him! He goes step by step of what he wants. Attend class and you'll do fine! Love him!

FAVORITE TEACHER! hands down the best teacher ive had in college so far. All of his essays are about interesting topics like murders and serial killers...which makes for interesting class discussions. he is hilarious and has a great sense of humor. Awesome teacher. Talks about realy interesting subjects. The dude knows his stuff. The class is mainly essays, but its not too bad. He explains in depth about what to write for each paragraph. He grades and returnes essays with corrections to be redone and turned back in for another grade. The man loves to match. Take him and youll know what I mean

I would highly recommend taking this class! He is very clear about what he expects in your work and the whole semester is spent building towards getting you prepared for 102. He assigns 4 papers a semester and gives you all the information and then some that you need to do a good job on it. He's an excellent teacher, funny, and very interesting!

Was kind of disappointed after reading all of the reviews and then taking him for myself. Not as easy as everyone makes him out to be. You have to write 3 essays for the class and the topics are horrible and he's not clear on what he wants. Does try to translate the stories into todays language though. He is always willing to help.. He was okay..

He is a very easy grader. The stories and poems we read are not very interesting. You have in class exams and papers to write. All in all, not a very fun class, but you can get through it if you take him.

Dr. Gibson was very nice and fun. He read us our readings each day and explained what it meant to us. If you come to class, write a few notes and pay attention, you will get an A on the tests. Write as much as possible on the tests. Writing was a little harder, but it helped me in the long run. I recommend him to anyone!

I have taken Dr. Gibson twice and would certainly take him again. He's very passionate about the material he teaches. While his tests have a lot of writing, he's also very helpful and answers all questions. He expects you to read outside of class, but he thoroughly discusses it in class, so you really don't need to! Favorite professor hands down. Explains the material super well and accepts late papers with no consequence. He also gives you multiple chances to correct your papers to make a higher grade. He has a very dry humor but you have to force it out of him. Very nice and understanding guy!

Dr. Gibson was amazing. He does have a dry humor. DO NOT BS on the papers you turn in. You can turn them in three times after the initial first paper. But on one of mine he circled the intro to my paper and wrote "intro is BS start over" I found it comical because he was right. GREAT guy!

Writing papers give me major anxiety. If you procrastinate and hate writing papers, taking Dr. Gibson is a must. He literally lays out exactly what points he wants you to make paragraph by paragraph. Always an interesting theme for his papers, he loves controversial topics. Provides tons of readings for you to base arguments off of. Take him!

Dr. Gibson is a personal instructor there for you to pass and understand the content of the work. He is very enthusiastic, and he helped me to find my true major. He will work with you if you put in the work, too. Attend class because if you don't then you will miss out on a SUPERB lecture.

Mr. Gibson is so awesome. He makes his British Literature class so fun and interesting. He reads the stories in class, so if you skip a class you will not be too far behind. He is also very understanding and can work with you. I would recommend him and this class/topic to anyone!

Awesome guy, really explains the literature well. Wants you to work to obtain your A (trust me it feels better that way). Does study guides. If u attend lecture and stay on top of readings, homework, etc it will be a breeze..

He has a clear-cut understanding lay out of what he expects. He does grade a little odd. I found that if I wrote the paper a day or two before, I received a better grade than writing it weeks before. He's very respectful. If you want an easy A he is not the professor to take. Very understanding but don't take him for granted.

Dr. Gibson was phenomenal! I've never met an English teacher who knows both the complete story of Sir Arthur word for word, but one who is so engaged in his work that he was able to weave the tale of Beowulf to us without looking at his notes. Incredible teacher that is willing to help if you need it and gives great feedback on the papers!

I took him twice, but I failed the first time for not participating. The second time I actually cracked down and he helped me very much. He's a great teacher and gives phenomenal feedback on essays. I would suggest anybody to take his class. His essays are really easy and the only 4-7 page essay would be the last one which is the research essay.

Very clear on what is expected. Goes over everything needed for the papers. Class attendance is important because he explains the readings and gives information for the upcoming papers. He is knowledgeable about the topics he assigns. He will edit the papers prior to the due date and will allow revisions to help your grade.

George Gibson was a wonderful professor for British Lit. He was extremely enthusiastic and passionate about the subject he teaches. You will write a few essays but he is very clear with instructions and gives you choices. TIP: record your lectures and use those recording for writing your essays and test prep. You'll love his class!

Dr. Gibson wants everyone to pass 102 and he tells you that the first day. He is super picky on papers because he wants you to see what you do wrong and how to fix it. You can continuously revise all of them until you get the grade you want. He is probably one of the better choices for 102!

Gibson is extremely caring over his students grades. In 124 we read Beowulf and Le Morte D'Arthur and he manages to make both extremely fun to learn about. If you attend every class there is no need to study just because he explains things so well. Essays are difficult but you are able to revise your papers for better grades. Easy and very fun.

He brings life to the English language. Take him, especially if you find British literature and history fascinating. Such a good speaker and easy to understand. Read the stories and poems he assigns, write as many words as possible for papers. He'll give you exact directives for the assignments, so the papers are not too bad. Overall, awesome guy.

He makes class interesting, and I look forward to his class every day. Follow along with the readings in class and take notes so you will know what you are talking about on the essays/exams. Will work with you and tell you the best route to take for essays. 3 essays and 3 written exams plus a final exam. Allows essay revisions for a better grade.

Overall a good teacher. Explains what he wants me essays and allows you to revise them for a higher grade! Would recommend for someone who is not a strong writer. Obviously you have to work hard, but if you do, you will make a good grade.

Only 4 essays during the semester, he also allows you to get your essays back and revise them to get a higher grade which is helpful! Also, he gets you ready for the proficiency exam which is very helpful!

Dr. Gibson is phenomenal. His lectures are interesting and he somehow manages to go on these tangents that suck you in and connect them back to the story. His essays are rough but he allows multiple revisions. Some say he is a tough grader but that's so he can help you improve.

Dr. Gibson adds tiny side stories to the material you read and also makes hilarious jokes. His explanations make it a lot easier to understand the stories and he is really helpful with questions about your essays. Overall just a really awesome and cool teacher. 10/10

His lectures are very boring and its hard to stay attentive, but if you force yourself to listen, it REALLY pays off. You do four essays per semester, and he gives feedback for you to revise and make the paper absolutely perfect. He really wants to see his students pass, and even maybe learn something along the way.

He is really tough on essays but only because he wants to see improvement and he lets you revise all your essays for a higher grade. 122 is mainly reading books and writing essays on them we read Dantes Inferno, Heart of Darkness, and some of Paradise Lost.

Anyone who says hes hard just doesnt have a basic understanding of a normal mla essay format. Dr. Gibson is a phenomenal Professor. Hes straight forward the most caring professor you will meet. He is knowledgeable about basically everything so dont be afraid to ask questions. Go to the writing lab at least once per essay if you want an A+ 11/10

We had assignments based on books and he summarized the books in class. If you read the reading material, attendance isn't necessary, but it is helpful. He is very sweet and understanding of his students. He tended to be lenient on deadlines and allowed revisions of essays. Do your work and you will be fine.

Lectures can be pretty boring sometimes, but the class itself isnt that bad. 4 essays, 4 peer reviews, and an oral presentation. I emailed him all of my essays before they were due so he could give me feedback and I never made lower than a 90.

The nicest professor at South Eastern, he tells a lot of interesting stories which makes his class enjoyable and overall your not gonna get a better professor, if ur struggling your simply not trying, makes me want to leave a bad review just so his class doesnt fill up so fast .

He gives all the information for your papers in his lectures, so go to class and chances are you are going to get an A. There are no tests, just essays.

(Must go to class) -3/4 Papers topics are picked for you, the last paper is independent. -Stories are read and thoroughly explained. (Must go to class). -Essays can be revised.

Dr. Gibson was probably the best English teacher I have ever had. He is so knowledgeable about anything you ask him. You have about 5 essays to write but he is a very fast grader and will let you do a revision on any paper no matter the grade. He wants you to do well and gives you plenty of information to help write your essays. 10/10 professor.

Gibson is an incredibly funny and knowledgable guy. This honors course requires a lot of writing. Basically that's all you do the entire course. Somedays you can afford to not show up (ie. an in-class reading day). Very helpful with your writing, gives you every opportunity to revise

I had a great experience with Dr. Gibson! I took him for the honors version of English 102 last semester. While the readings themselves can get boring, he does everything he can to make them entertaining. He is flexible with due dates and truly wants to see his students succeed. TAKE HIM!

You don't necessarily have to go to his class to pass but it is recommended. He lets you know exactly what he is looking for and even gives you points that he would accept for each essay. If you have trouble writing, then I recommend him. He gives step-by-step instructions and leaves no table unturned. He is very understanding about your issues too

He is the best professor at selu, if you think his classes are hard your a baby. He doesnt grade that hard like the others are saying, hes passionate, kind and inspiring and will answer any questions you have

Dr. Gibson is my favorite professor I have ever had. He truly wants to connect with his students. He laid out exactly what we needed to write, and he always gave students extensions. He lets you redo your paper for another grade! He is just the most compassionate, caring professor. I am truly grateful to have had the opportunity to take his class.

Did not use the textbook at all. We had 5 essay throughout the semester. He gives a lot of time to complete the essays. He only puts in essays as a grade. There is no other work other than the essay. We had a informal oral presentation of the outline of our last course essay before we take the final. Also 3 peer reviews.

I absolutely loved Dr. Gibson. If you show him you truly care then he will do the same! He doesn't grade that hard and gives critiques before you turn in essays along with a revision after your essay has been submitted for a higher grade. He was always so willing to help when I wasn't sure what to do or where to go with my essay! The best!

Only 4 essays and a final

Wonderful professor, great class. Although I did not pass because of an emergency that started mid-semester and lasted until shortly after finals, he gave me chances to make grades up all the way until the end. My failing was not a reflection upon him. I look forward to taking him again. Do be ready for a few essays to make up the whole grade!

He's super nice and allows you to turn in assignments late without penalty, but I found his class kinda boring because it was mainly just rambling at times. VERY linient with grading because I know some of my papers didn't deserve the grade he gave them.

I took his ENGL102 class and I really enjoyed it. Compared to 102 this course had actual tests that required a lot of writing. The most important thing to do is keep up with the reading if you miss a class. The test questions are from the readings and are not oblivious. Make sure you do well on the essays if you fail the tests.

He's entertaining and the stories/poems we go over are interesting so it's not a slog. Attendance isn't mandatory but might as well go, he reads/provides context for the story in class and you can get other work done during it. Being in class will make the tests/essays easier. He's nice from what I've seen.

Love him, he makes everything so interesting even as a non-english lover. Very clear in what he wants in his rubrics before tests/essays, he doesn't try any slick stuff. His intense interest in the topics he discusses makes you interested too, overall just a cool guy.

Dr. Gibson was a great english professor, he only gave us three essays to write ( not including the mid term or final) he does grade a little harsh but he gives great feedback and you can revise your essay for extra points. He was fun to listen to in class very passionate about english and his essay topics were fun!

Professor Gibson runs a structured class, but if you engage with his system, you'll learn a lot. The workload is manageable, and he's willing to work with students. unstuck ai was really helpful for prepping essays.

Atttendance is not compulsory but be sure to go to class because he does favouritism for student that do. Also strictly follow the instruction while writing essays and you would be fine.

Gibson is kinda funny and is an amazing storyteller. He expects a lot out of the essays but the prompts aren't hard, and he gives you a good amount of time. If you show up and listen to his stories you should be fine. He usually posts the notes to whatever material you will go over.

Dr. Gibson is very structured. He likes his essays in a certain outline, SO DO IT THAT WAY! I would write EVERYTHING down he said in class about the topic/prompt and use it in my essays. He gives you good hints and clues in class so GO TO CLASS. He really does help you if you show your putting in the effort.
