He's really laid back and is very enthusiastic about teaching. He gives you study guides for each midterm and the final exam. I bet even the people who fell asleep in his class got an A Highly recommended.
Very moody. Will make a bunch of sarcastic jokes and then angrily complain that students don't take him seriously. Picks on frat boys. Gave no work other than midterms and one easy presentation, except twice when he was in a bad mood. Then he acted like it was punishment. Uses a generous scale on the midterms though, so that's good.
He is very moody, but he is very funny. He is cynical, sarcastic, and likes to joke around with students. He often goes off on tangents, talking about Seinfeld, or talking about how Europeans make fun of Americans for always tipping. He's funny like that. A good teacher, he makes the subject interesting.
tries really hard to teach well...but is often confusing, curves scores which are only 4 exams and short summary of an article... i think he was wierd but some found him funny...mostly suck ups, however he does care about the students, but beware of his wierd abnormal sense of humor...
Probably my favorite teacher! On the first day of class he might scare you because of his sense of humor...give it time though because hes actually a really nice guy! If he picks on you dont take it personally, he really wants you to learn the subject matter. He gives good study guides and gives points for 2nd best answers!

Jugunatos has a dry, quick wit and is a very interesting lecturer. He seems to enjoy class participation. He does make fun of you for asking questions but don't take him seriously (he's joking!)-- underneath it all, he really WANTS you to learn. The majority of my class loved him and would try to come up with witty remarks which he always had a
Worst professor ever! Goes off on tangents, doesn't teach relevant material, and has a weird sense of humor. AVOID when possible!

Hard professor if you are not a econ major...i'm pretty i failed his class...if u r a mother...I SUGGEST YOU NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR... but great humor...funny at times...
he tries to make the classes interested and fill of humor. His handwriting is a little bit hard to understand. He curves the grades, and encourages the classes after each exams.
Find another instructor, this guy sucks! Grading is too subjective. He does not give back grades, nor feedback on group projects, which were 40% of the course grade. Tests are 100% author questions, don't bother with lecture notes just memorize text.
teacher was fun and interesting. He challenges students that are behind by calling on them more then others in class, which makes them read and be prepared. he gets everybody involved in lectures. left the class with an A-. Quite annoying at first, but great teacher in the end. I liked that he cared if students actually learned the material.
Are you kidding me??? The material is so hard and difficult to understand, the teacher is totally not appropriate for it! Basically, DONT ASK HIM QUESTIONS, just read the book and know it. If you dont, oh well, he wont care. Tests are hard, read the book 10 times to do well on the test!!! But you still wont do well! Learned nothing from him!
The worst!!! His jokes are not funny...and his teaching style is...well, he doesnt know how to teach. As a person, he is good. BUT for such difficult class, with difficult concepts...he was not a good teacher!! Basically, I learned everything from the book, dont even have to go to lectures...no point in them!
He's a little rude but in a funny "House" (the tv show)sort of way. He takes attendance everyonce in awhile but really you just need to read the book more then go to class. He requires two books... don't get the Real World Macro you only have to read one article out of it so just borrow it from someone else or photocopy the page. Class is kindof ha
Take this guy... hella funny you will not regret it
This guy is pretty akward, and he is pretty funny too. He likes to pick on people for fun, but those he picks on pick on the proff as well. He goes off topic a lot but tells you what you need to study for, for the tests.
Do NOT take a class with this professor. He is a jerk. He picks on people for no reason and mocks your questions. If you make a mistake (even a small one), you're in big trouble. Later, he'll make you and your mistake the butt of a joke. I've seen him do it! If you want to have a decent time in class, AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS!
He is really clear. If you show up and try you will do well. do the practice quizzes and you will find the tests are much easier.
One of the hardest classes I've ever taken in 3 years of going to college. At the same time, one of the classes I ve learned the most from. Difficult exams, but he is flexible at grading. He says he grades his students based on how much he likes them, and thats true! Show some interest and you will be ok!
He goes off on tangents and sometimes you will have no idea what he is talking about but he is very funny and keeps it interesting. Study for the tests and read the book. Do the practice quizzes and the tests will be so much easier! overall not bad
So, I'm pretty sure you either hate this guy or love him, and I thought he was great. Crazy sense of humor that makes the subject of economics a little more bearable. True, his class is hard, but if you actually read the book and listen to his lectures you will be fine. He gives you a study guide for every test. I would recommend him...
I RECOMMEND HIM FOR ECON. HE HAS A VERY DRY SENSE OF HUMOR AND I LOVED HIM. ATTEND CLASS, READ OVER TEXT AND TALK TO HIM. (HE DOES GRADE BASED UPON HOW MUCH HE LIKES YOU!). TEST ARE BASIC AND HE GIVES A GOOD STUDY GUIDE FOR REVIEW.
The textbook was good and you'll quite a bit if you read it and do the exercises. Professor's knowledgeable but sense of humor is too dry and abrasive to me. His style in my opinion does not encourage an open environment of discussion, commenting, or question asking. I also felt he strayed away too much from the original assignment requirements.
Excellent professor. He took a boring, dull subject like Econ 1A and made it interesting. He is eccentric, but it made the class all that more fun. He is very smart and knows how to teach. I was hoping to take Econ 1B from him. He is one of my favorite professors.
Take heed, Dr Jouganatos will skewer anyone who comes to class unprepared. However, should you make an effort to earn his respect, he can show a great deal of kindness and will often give students the benefit of the doubt. Yes, his sense of humor can be a little off-putting at first, but you really do learn to love it. It?s been a pleasure.
He's quite a character. He is not a monotone type of lecturer. He engages with students and knows whose there and whose not. He's pretty fun to take. His tests though are very hard so study lots!
He tried an tried, but did not succeed, everything is based on the book and participation, he favors front row students(picks on them) and has a horrible sense of sarcastic humor, possibly worst teach I've had so far. And I've had Jong Kim (look him up)
I HAD JOUGS NEARLY 5 YRS AGO AND ALL I KNOW IS. HE'S ALL-TIME! HANDS DOWN FUNNIEST GUY EVER! SHOULDA BEEN AN ACTOR. I SHOWED UP TO HIS CLASS NOT TO LEARN BUT TO PICK UP ON HIS DRY HUMOR AND CLASSIC LINES THAT I USE TO THIS DAY. A FEW OF MY FAVS WERE "HURRY UP IM TIRED" "OH GOD!" "PUT IT IN BLOOD" HE'S A LEGEND! DOES ANYONE KNOW IF HES ON FACEBOOK?
He is a great teacher and you will def come out learning about fin. He is so funny and tries to act tough and hard on students but he is fair and is always willing to help. He grades on a scale which helps and lets you have a full page of notes for each exam. No homework, just exams. Come to class and take good notes and study for exams.I loved him
Super smart guy! The first couple days of class he sort of scared everyone by acting like a tough guy, I dreaded coming to class at first, but now I look forward to it. He is SO HILARIOUS!! I can't even explain it. You have to take him! My favorite teacher by far! Tests are very hard but he curves them, read the book and attend class!
Awesome teacher once you figure him out. Comes off hard at first, but you'll soon warm up to his style. Extremely passionate and educated in his topics and very well prepared. He is very willing to help. Show up to classes, be attentive and willing to learn and you will pass easily.
Quality, top-notch instructor! Prof. Jouganatos will definitely challenge you, come to class PREPARED. If you slack off he will notice. He is quirky, but he makes the boring material interesting. I appreciate professors like him, the kind that make you WANT to learn and do well in your classes!
Prof. Jouganatos really cares about his students. His dry wit is a little off-putting at first, but once you get to know him he is an awesome professor. His tests are difficult but he allows 1 page cheat sheet. You really have to know the FIN formulas and how to use your FIN calculator to do well. Bottom line, great teacher take this class!! :)
He is hilarious. He really cares about his students & is very knowledgeable. Little lecture, usually just goes through problems from text. Pay attention. Each test he allows one page of notes which should b everything you need to guide you to do well on the exams. Utilize office hours if you are having trouble understanding. Take him!
Prof spent excessive time in class telling useless stories, making the same joke every meeting, and about 40 minutes of actual instruction. Picks favorite students in the front row, and picks on random students a lot. Class was just him giving answers to homework and you had to go back and figure it out. 1 page of notes for exams. would take again
WORST INSTRUCTOR EVER if you want to actually learn something. What I learned day 1 in Econ1B took him 4 weeks to get to. He does nothing but makes fun of students and goes on rants about texting. He constantly screams "pay attention" and "every utterance must be noted" even when the class is doing nothing wrong. I dont know how anyone likes him.
Incredible professor. He is a little eccentric, but that helped to make the boring subject of economics interesting. He knows his stuff and knows how to teach. NO busy work, which I appreciate. He also gives life advice. I would highly recommend him. He is such a smart and knowledgeable man. Take him. And yes, write down every "utterance!"
Funnest professor ever. He will rant about anything he disagrees with for the entire class. he has a few lines he uses constantly, "every utterance must be duly noted", and "Pay Attention". He gets irritated easily. He knows his stuff well and will challenge you on tests. Over all good processor. Do things his way and youll be fine
Dr. Jouganato is one of the best professors at Sac. He makes the material interesting. It's very important to attand every class because you never know what you will miss. The tests are challenging, but if you study, you will be fine.Plus, he is very funny, so you will enjoy the class even though the materials might be dry.I highly recommend him.
He was awesome, I only had him for a short amount of time but he was very good at keeping the class entertained and having fun.
Jouganatos is hilarious! He actually makes economics interesting. It was my third time taking this same class because I had failed it twice in previous semesters, but thanks to Jouganatos I was able to understand the material. I highly recommend taking his class and make sure you write down every utterance!
Jouganatos comes off crazy at first but it's just his humor. He really does care about the students taking his class and when my class got screwed over (got new teacher 2/3 through semester) most were disappointed. 5 exams, MC. Allows 1 pg notes. Attendance is not mand. but you receive participation cred and he goes over HW qs, so go!
Very difficult professor with difficult exams. Dont get caught with your cell phone out. He loves Seinfeld. Laughs at his own jokes when nobody else does which is hilarious. Allows 1 sheet of notes on exams. Takes attendance.
You will need time to adjust to his attitude. In the end, great teacher overall. He lectures quickly assuming you read the book. If you haven't spent the time to do the problems, you will be lost. No free pass in his class. Very helpful, responsive, and punctual on grading. Exams were hard but he allows one sheet of notes!
This professor was a total joke and a clown. He does not teach but just goes over HW problems from the back of the book. Has little tolerance for people when they ask him to slow down. He has some serious ADHD. Keeps blurting things out like "stop texting" and "pay attention" for no reason and can never stay on topic for longer than 5 minutes.
Very interesting teacher, funny, and makes class go quickly. Great personality. Homework isn't graded, but highly recommended to understand and pass the course. Test our difficult, does offer extra credit on test. If you get extra credit correct you receive three points, however if it's incorrect you lose two points. Curves every test.
Ugh. He's worth taking, but you will have to adjust to his "humor". Get used to taking notes quickly bc he will rush through his notes. Besides his annoying teaching style, he is really considerate on test grades. He just likes to pick on students bc its hilarious to him. Extra credit questions on every exam. Exams every 2 weeks (5 total). GL
One of the funniest professors ever! He is a great teacher and I recommend taking him. You must do the reading or you will be lost. Grades test generously, although they are hard. If you have no sense of humor or you don't want to read a little, don't take him.
He is the most intelligent professor ever! Professor J, is also very funny and helpful. He is always happy to help his students successed in class. You have to read the book to know what going on, but if you are a pure econ person, you can A's his class without even reading the book! I highly recommend taking Professor J!
picks on you and always wants it his way. his lectures have nothing to do with the exams you never know what score you get because his test are so confusing! hes has a weird sence of humor.
I honestly don't think he's that bad. He really only picks on you because he likes you and want you to excel. He uses a lot of dry humor. And can be intimidating because most times he would regard your answer as "INSUFFICIENT!" even though you're correct. Material-wise, I didn't even use the books. Breeze through tests with B's.
Very interesting guy, but the class was pretty easy. Lots of group work and 1 group presentation.
His lectures were not helpful at all. He barely explains concepts, he does more math than anything and he uses examples from the text all the time. Learned more from teaching myself than attending lecture. Everything irritates this guy and he likes to pick on people which he claims to help. DO NOT TAKE THIS GUY. You will NOT get a good foundation
I honestly think he's a pretty good teacher. I thought he was funny, although he did intimidate me a bit. He covers everything we're supposed to already have read in the book during class, and his little "life lesson"s were pretty interesting. I have a lot of random little sides notes in the margins of my class notes. I'd take him again
He is so full of himself. His class is not interesting at all and he is intimidating at first. I never used the books and only studied my notes on his lectures. I guess it would have helped to read the books every now and then but if you study your notes before an exam you'll be ok. Don't really recommend his class.
Fin 101- this class is pretty difficult with whomever you take. I must admit this teacher is a bit of a clown- but honesty he curves so greatly it make up for his lectures. My class mates were sure they were failing but didn't. If you try!! not whine, he will not let you fail his class.
Eccentric. Can't tell if he is serious or a big goof ball. Seems earnest and wants students to do well. You will need to study hard to get an A. He curves exams for a very easy C, but if you want even a B you will need to work for it.
This guy is not for the timid. He is basically the Dr. House of professors. He will put you on the spot and call you out, but in a funny way. The key is to know that while he can dish it out he can also take it. Get a little back and forth going with this guy and you will find that it is an interesting class from a great teacher.
READ THE TEXTBOOK! I swear, his tests are STRAIGHT OUT OF THE TEXTBOOK. READ EVERY PAGE of the assigned chapters for the exams. Read it over twice, thrice, and you'll have an easy A, I guaran-damn-tee it. Funny professor too, like a mix of Ben Stein and Stephen Colbert.
He is AWESOME.One of a kind. Will keep track of attendance and will call you out when you miss class. Read the text book, the test questions comes straight from the text. Pay attention, sit in the front and be involved in the class. My favorite professor at CSUS.
Prof Jouganatos is THE BEST. I can see how he's like Dr. House but he's also like Judge Judy. He is the only professor I have ever known to say "an examination is not a reflection of your self-worth." You learn wisdom as well as economics in his classes. I wish I was taking him again! I would major in Jouganatos!
i said i would never take him again and here i am. he is truley like no other teacher you will ever have, if you dont have a sense of humor do not take him, or if you get offended by being called out in class. regardless he will provide you with information to the subject and life lessons. 5 tests and 10% participation, 1 page of notes allowed.
A lot of students are intimidated by him because he will pick on you if you don't stay up on the reading or review your notes before class. He wants students to work hard and to get the material. Don't miss class if you don't want to be picked on He is a good teacher though and a really smart man. You will learn a lot from him. Just take him!
I took this class as a business elective requirement. I struggled because econ is not my major and he refers to a lot of econ material from pre req classes. I don't blame the professor, I blame Sac State for offering this course as an elective. Anyways, not an easy class but if you show up and take detailed notes you should do fine! Curved exams.
He is absolutely an amazing teacher. You have to go his way to succeed, and you have to work hard. He is available during his office hours, so take advantage of it. He is incredibly helpful. Just show him you care, and he will help you out with the project more than what he is supposed to help. Take him. You won't regret.
5 Tests, he doesn't grade anything else. Go to class for your own good, Gives study guides before test, read the book and you will get a decent grade.
You really have to go to class in order to do well in this class. You also have to keep up on your readings or else you will be extremely lost and confused. He may seem intimidating but he's doing it out of tough love and he means the best by it. He tests were really hard, even with the curve, lots of people failed. Flashcards really helped me.
He tends to insult his class but it's in a joking manner. People who think he's serious tend to hate him but he's a really nice guy. It was hard material but that's the nature of the class. Compared to other sections of the same class he was easier than them (though still hard). He curves heavily so you'll most likely pass even with 60s% on exams.
I literally learned nothing from the guy. Anything I learned was from the book. I think you have a great chance of learning if you read the chapter for that week beforehand but even then he goes fast in his lectures. Five test total. Go to class just to take notes from the book, at least it gives you time to concentrate. Miss class? he'll remember
If you take Jouganatos you have to stay on top of your reading or it will be difficult to pass. ABSOLUTELY NO CELL PHONES or else he will pick on you for the rest of the semester He loves to give students a hard time for anything. There were 5 tests and they were all really difficult. but on the good side. HE passes everyone
One of the best professors I have taken at CSUS. No homework, no quizzes, just 5 tests. He gives you the study guide before each test with literally all the material he will test on. Really passionate about the subject and will "pick on" students to get them into it. He will also give lots of personal finance advice, which you should listen to.
4 Exams, one short paper. Lectures- very confusing. Textbook (MUST if you want an A). He is cooky so be open minded. Do not goof, or he will tease you forever. Hates cellphones so do not get caught with them, or get on the tease list. Recommend staying under the radar, watch different lectures on youtube. I think he curves your course grade, idk
Worst class I've ever taken in college. I recommend you to avoid having him as a teacher as much as possible. He rushed through his lectures and doesn't teach anything. Expects you to know the material. Be prepared to teach yourself everything.
Take your studies seriously and any class will be an easy A After all how good you perform in any class is in your hands.
Great teacher. I took econ 141 (econometrics) and was amazed by the amount of practical knowledge. If you are doing econ at csus definately take a course with dr. Jouganatos. You will have to read but at the end of the day thats college. Not gonna lie i underestimated him as a professor but at the end im left with nothing but respect.
The only reason students don't like him is because they don't have a sense of humor. I read every chapter and did like 80% of the practice problems and I got an A in the class. If you go into the class expecting to put no time into studying you won't do well, but if you read & do practice problems for at least an hour a day you'll get a good grade.
Good guy. Quirky Sense of humor takes a little getting used to. Seems off-putting at first, possibly to weed out lazy students. If you do the assignments, put in the effort, are honest with him and keep him in the loop on your project he will help you. I was worried going into the class, his support and criticism pushed me through. DON'T SKIP CLASS
Awesome professor. Funny and talks about real world experiences. He is outgoing and will pick on the people who can take it with humor. There were 5 mini tests and a final paper. Take good notes and don't skip class and you should do great.
Professor Jouganatos is a great professor. Very quirky and a weird sense of humor but it works. Made an otherwise boring class fun to go to. He will randomly break out in song or yell PAY ATTENTION! Will choose a random set of students to pick on the whole semester but in a good way. All in all he wants you to succeed and I would him take again.
The class is hard but that's the nature of investments. He gives advice applicable to the real world in class in addition to textbook material. The class scored low but he curves it heavily so you can expect to receive a much better grade than your exams would indicate. Show up to lectures if you want to succeed
Horrible professor. Took him for finance 135. I am and A and B+ student and i struggled to pass with a C in this guy's class. Dry sense of humor and extremely unclear about what will be on exams. His lectures are dry monotone. No class involvement. One of the worst professors I have taken at sac state.
Did not like this professor at all. Tests didn't match with lectures or study guides. Would not recommend this professor to anyone.
A true character, lectures all class and a lot of notes but all information is good for the real world. He sings a lot and makes class interesting but tests are hard and most of what he covers is different from tests. 4 tests and little homework if you read book you will pass but really hard to get an A
Worst class I've ever taken in college. I recommend you to AVOID having him as a professor as much as possible. He rushed through his lectures and doesn't teach anything. Expects you to know the material. Be prepared to teach yourself everything. He has a crude sense of humor, belittles students. I am an A student, not in this course.
Favorite professor at sac state! Took him for not only Econ 145 but also Econ 114 and Econ 120! Keeps it real with you!
His class is only based on his 5 tests. He allows you to have one page of notes on each test. Most of the tests were 50 problems so you'll be rushing the entire time to finish. He does curve the tests. You have to go to class if you want to do well because he shows you how to work out the problems. He's a funny guy but makes the class difficult.
The book is absolutely necessary. Reading before class helps - as he asks questions and often remembers students names (which helps for participation points). He covers a ton of material in lecture, so practicing at home with your financial calculator is a must. He curves tests which helps and gives out a detailed study guide!
Overall a great professor very thoughtful, intelligent and sharp witted. Provides great philosophical insight along with pragmatic points of view concerning business and economics. Overall one of the best and most knowledgable professors on campus. Would take him for every class if it was possible.
Jouganatos is a LEGEND! He is bright, witty and a little eclectic but there was not one class session where I wasn't laughing my behind off. No homework but in order to do well, you must do practice problems. He scales HEAVILY. And participate as much as you can. AND there's a fb page dedicated to him. If that isn't legend material, idk what is.
Your entire grade is based on your tests, no homework to turn in. You cannot miss class. If you follow along and do the practice problems to do at home and read the book you'll do fine. I liked that he was very clear with everything.
Professor is a character but he truly cares to make sure his students understand the material. At first he can be intimidating, but you will get used to him. He makes the material easy to understand. His lectures are from his notes that he shares with the class. Attendance is not taken but if you miss one day you will miss a ton of material
Just like anything class.. if you take good notes and put in the work it's not too hard. Gives you extra help if you ask. He's an entertaining guy and wants the best for his students. Intimidating at first but you get used to his sense of humor, it keeps class interesting! Take this professor if you can!!!
His lectures are good but make sure you read for the exams. His exams are a bit wordy so be prepare to read them carefully. He is very sarcastic and a bit funny.
He knows he's one of the tougher (but quirky) profs for FIN. Lets you have a reference sheet for every test. Lectures consist of going over homework that is not collected but is highly recommended that you do them ahead of time. Also has a generous curve for tests. Thought my first one was a F but curve made it a C.
Jouganatos is a great human being. His class is specific and to the point. Poke at him and enjoy his dorkiness. He wants everyone to succeed and his philosophy is "learn to live a life of enrichment."
The biggest recommendation is to skim the chapter & work out a couple of the problems before class - he gets loud if you don't. Your entire grade depends on tests. Understand and be able to do all the problems you go over in class to get good scores. Some EC, curves every exam. Hard work is rewarded. Good guy, but sometimes a little impatient.
DO NOT slack off, I did so at the beginning and thought my topic was easy but later found out I was not as knowledgeable as I thought in that topic but I tried my hardest so careful with the topic you choose. When taking notes if he tells you to write it down then you WRITE IT DOWN, I always had good notes from his amazing lectures.
He's incredibly intelligent but by no means is he a good professor. Spends an unnecessary amount of time talking about irrelevant topics even if it is insightful. It'd be exponentially more beneficial if he just slowed down and tried to thoroughly explain the material. No point of showing off your intelligence if you can't convey the concepts right
So, I am a 4.0 student but wanted to give you all clear warning that if you are like me and trying to maintain your GPA at an A average - Good Luck! His teaching style is full of mockery, jest, and lack of clarity. He puts up the lesson on a projector then covers up the bottom of the page until HE is ready to love on. He is rude if you ask question
DrJ is brilliant. Has high expectations but makes them very clear. He explains the material very clearly in class, so pay attention. He writes his lectures out as the class does so as to not go faster than you can write. You should write and read everything you're told to. If you need help, ask. He's very approachable and cares about your success.
Prof. Jouganatos can be a little intimidating at first, but you'll get used to him and his sense of humor. Class wasn't hard, consisted of 5 easy multiple choice tests and one group project, in which we had to write a paper. One of the easiest Econ classes I've taken so far.
Polarizing guy. He has a lot bad qualities but also just as many good qualities. He's so condescending that it's funny. This is not a class you can pass by relying only on lecture. However I crammed for exams 1-2 days in advanced and I did well in the class. Biggest tip is to make an outstanding page of notes for the exam and read on your own.
He is great. I really enjoyed his class. HIs attendance is not mandatory, but trust me, you will want to show up for class. You need the textbook for hw problems and readings.
Prof. Jouganatos is awesome! He is very unique and also very helpful. He is sarcastic but its great! Participate in class and you will do great.
Dr. Jouganatos is hilarious- very dry sense of humor. We had 6 multiple choice exams (one page cheat sheet allowed), ungraded homework (but you should do it!), a group project, and a summary of a few Nightly Business Reports. The lectures can be boring, but the class is informative and not too difficult if you do the work/go to class.
If you want to learn the material in order to apply it properly in the future, stay away. If you want to get a C+ and/or just need the class to graduate, go for it. Lectures lack clarity, and include random miscellaneous topics. Exam questions are worded in a strange manner, and sometimes attempt to trick you. He is nice tho...
Professor Jouganatos is awesome! He may seem a little intimidating at first, but that's what urged me to come to class and participate. He has an interesting sense of humor and can be sarcastic, but I enjoyed that about him. Go to class, take notes, participate, and you will do great! I definitely plan to take more Econ classes with him.
He is one of the worst professor's I've had, he looked like he put little to no effort into preparing to teach students. No powerpoints or use of canvas. Although he curves his exams, it says a lot about his teaching. Highly would not recommend. Pick someone else.
There's joking rude and then there's Professor Jouganatos. He will ask you questions and write you off if you do not answer immediately but even if you do, it better be a one word answer or he will cut you off with "that's enough, I get it." Very his way or the highway thinking. Not worth your time to take any class with him.
This professor likes to blame students for doing poorly and not participating. He has strong negative emotions heard in his voice and wording. He voiced his distrust for students that did well on multiple choice exams saying he thinks they were cheating. This was an awful experience with lots of formulas to memorize for no good reason!
Be prepare to do a lot of reading and the practice problems following the chapter on your own. He expects you to read the chapters ahead of time. You don't learn anything from his lectures and he'll go over the practice problems in class -- very boring. His tests are mainly conceptual with a few calculation questions. 5 tests, 1 grp paper.
Do not take this professor. He's very sarcastic and not in a funny way. Only grades on exams and he does not prepare you well for them. Wastes much time on a few problems of a chapter but does not actually teach the chapter. Disrespectful towards his students in a passive manner. Avoid at all costs.
Despite several negative reviews one key thing has been missed: this professor truly has knowledge to share with students. I struggle terribly with math and often have to find help outside of class. I understand how Prof. Jouganatos explains the problems. I wait to do the homework for the lecture and it clicks. One of few that challenges students.
He is an amazing professor who makes you retain the information rather than just having it for the test. Super funny and is awesome to be around. You just have to be willing to work. If you're lazy you don't deserve to be in his class and it'll show.
