decent but bring ear plugs.
He is very funny. His classes are just lecturers. He does not take exmas. The final is 3 essays and though the class you have to do just two projects. You learn a lot reading the book and if you are not lasy you will get an A for sure. He is very nice.

makes class easy doesn't take attendance and has 2 or 3 tests and then a final he is a very smart professor and knows a lot about real life and has a lot of experience witht the real world.

Class is not demanding. Lectures are exactly that, lectures, so don't expect much in terms of student to teacher interactions. Only thing to be prepared for is the occasional rude Indian jokes. Those have to go.

Klein is a total jerk- though there are no tests or exams in his anth class, he does make you do 3 very stupid and worthless projects of which he grades very erraticly. He is rude to people of different ethnicities- especially Indians. His teaching license should be revoked. He repeats the same stup

The only anthropology teacher you should take the class with at oakton. 2 simple projects and a final u get a month early. Attendence not mandatory or necessary!
Don't buy the book, you won't need it. Take this class with a friend so you can pass notes or make fun of him. It's boring but EASY.
hes definetly an odd professor and will make fun of u in class if u stick out in any sort of way. and he doesnt seem to like the foreign kids. its funny how worked up he gets on some issues, but he manages to keep the class interested.

Don't ever buy the book...very fuuny guy...you don't have to take notes in that class. you just go to the class and after the attendence you can even get out from there. he won't care about it...just do his papers and you will get an A in that class.highly reconmended.... we love you Mr. Klein

Classic example of someone who comes from old money,is put thru the most expensive universities in the country,hasn't lifted a finger in his life,hasn't done a lick of real work or research,proclaims himself an expert in antiterrorism among other things...yet OCC is the pinnacle of his genius? A waste of O2-his father should have pulled out.
lol Klein is ****in awesome! The class time goes by so quickly. He's funny and class convo is always interesting. He seems to be mean at first but he's actually really nice. His class is easy, like 3 quizes and a final. C'mon who can complain?!
Mr. Klein is the coolest guy. Very funny. He inspired me to move to lovely British Columbia. Only one paper to do in his class.
interesting class. two test which are five page papers and final which is 25 page paper. The questions are a little hard to find that he wants answered but overall if you like to write instead of taking tests he's the teacher you want.
This teacher is ok!if ur planning on not getting the book make sure u take careful notes! There are 2 projects and a take home final. There are no quizes but He will give u the take home final a month before the semester ends that consists of 15 long questions from the book and u have to write 3 papers each consisting of 3-5pgs long!
He is the crudest biggest **** ever. I ended up likeing him though because of it. I did no reading from my book and got a B. If you do the work and put up with his**** you'll be fine.
Easy teacher, seems like an ass at first but has VERY interesting lectures. U get hooked on his lectures and dont even worry about the time. Only downfall is 20 page final, but its take home and u get it 3 weeks before so its not bad. Id recommend him, anyone that didnt like him prob was just picked on by him and tahts y they dont like him.

This must be the most boring class ever! Just learn to shut your mouth and get ready to day dream. I learned nothing but I got a good grade. Just make sure your projects are nice and long, to gurantee a good grade:)
BORING, BORING, BORING, THIS TEACHER IS NOT FUNNY, HIS LECTURES ARE NOT INTERESTING, AND ALL HIS FILMS ARE OUT DATED. THE ONLY GOOD THING I HAVE TO SAY IS THAT HIS CLASS WAS EASY, JUST ONE PAPER AND 2 PROJECTS. AND ATTENDENCE WAS NOT MANDATORY UNTIL THE LAST 3 WEEKS OF CLASS.

Being part of a minority group has not been easy for me, especially since I 'pass' quite easily. For all of the talk about this professor being prejudiced, his nonverbals and subtle interactions are not. It's nice to find someone verbally aggressive and nonverbally very accepting. It's a refreshing change from the current norm.
This class is soooo boring!!! everyone eithers sleep or stares off into space. Class is based on lectures, only assignment we got was a quiz a month before the semester was over and a take home final consisting of 15 long book questions and three 3-5 page essays. don't take anthro!!!
I like Dr. Klein. He keeps the class interesting by picking on students and cracking jokes. He has a lot of real world experience and spends most of the class talking about his experiences. It's all lecture though except for the occasional, old video. I took two of his classes and I'd take another. Easy A if you do the few assignments well.

This guy was ridiculous. While I got an A, he was completely inappropriate with the class. He didn't seem to like minorities very much. They usually would tend to be the focus of his wrath when it came to ragging on people. If your last name is PATEL, he will wreck you. Most of the Patels in my class stopped showing up because of it.

Although this teacher is really easy he is ignorant. He makes minorities the bud of all jokes especially anyone named patel. He is super easy but really weird!
The man is nuttier than a bag of cashews. Good luck if your last name is Patel. You better grow a thick skin with this guy. You don't really need to show up although I went every single day. He's just crazy.
He is very biased. It's true- good luck to Patels- he will pick on you. Lectures are long and boring. He gets off track a lot. His teaching style is not organized. 2 take home quizes & 1 take home final. So basically you don't need to pay attention in class, just sit there and try to get comfortable in the stupid desks.
Mr. Klein is the best at Oakton. He knows his stuff and has been teaching for years. There are couple assignments and 3 papers at the end plus a take home final from the book. You will learn everything if you pay attention and take notes. TAKE HIM IF YOU WANT TO LEARN! HE IS THE BEST. VERY INTERESTING CLASS. I GOT AN A BUT WORKED HARD!

Funny old guy, would reccomend him if looking for an easy grade in an elective class. If you are an anthro major, don't come close. He is a Sociology major and will focus on that. He will give you the feeling that anthro is bad. Makes many jokes that HE thinks are funny, class drags, kind of boring, repeates things many many times, word by word

He can't stand stupidity and lazyness. If you are ANTHRO major do not take him, he is not knowleadgeable in the subject. Take him for an easy grade.
This guy has fallen off his rocker for sure. He is funny, but pretty much never really talks about anything important. Gives take home quizzes and a take home final exam - which is good because he does not teach anything so being able to take it home and use the book/internet was a life saver. I probably will not take another class with him again.
Dont take this professor you will not learn anything. He tells jokes all the time and their not funny. Extremly discriminative towards minorities esp. to Indian and Pakistani's. Final is hard and cant depend on his lectures to help you.

Completely uninformed about topics he pretends to be a master of, doesn't actually TEACH, just tells stupid boring stories, highly inappropriate (makes **** remarks towards minorities that he pretends are 'jokes,' tells female students that they should spread their legs for Playboy, etc.). Seems like a smart enough guy but is a TERRIBLE teacher.

First class he started talking how his friends are all with wifes and girlfriends and how many times divorced. how can you hate a man its easy when he only gives you a couple take home quizes and grades only what he wishes. He gave me a C every time even though i tryied and was the only one in his class that looked interested. he trys not to give out A's so he doesn't look easy stupid philosophy (i got my first C ever cause of him)
One of the worst teachers. I went a few times and am STILL now sure what to study for or what to expect out of the exams. Wastes a lot of time talking about everything, but what we're actually studying. Will never take a class with this teacher again.Have to teach myself the info. Lecture consists of sitting and watching him make dumb remarks.
Horrible. I got all A's except this class. Impossible to get a good grade. Some people were given a better grade even when they turned in the assignment late. Everythings based on how he feels that day.
Talks basically out of opnion, and not fact. Didn't understand grading process. When extra info was presented, it was marked wrong. Does not teach the actual class subject.

He is awesome! Such Ann interesting man. I am a really bad student and I got a B if you do good on the final( which is take home) that is what grade you will get it the class. He does tend to pick favorites, I am not a teachers pet, I joked with him all class and he loved me. I recommend this teacher!!!!
The lectures are very interesting, but will not help you in writing your final exam (On which your grade will be base, 7 it'll be take home). YOU WILL HAVE TO WORK VERY HARD FOR AN A IN THIS CLASS, but you will not have to do anything until the last week of the semester. DO NOT read the book, you will be able to skim the needed parts for the final.

I do not say this lightly, but George Klein was the worst instructor I have ever had. He teaches using a book he wrote and it really does not relate to sociology in a contemporary sense. He is rude and condescending to students. His classroom is not a conducive learning environment.
ok, this guy is a character. if you are easily offended do not take this class. but if you are looking for an easy A. this guy has an endless collection of Hawaiian shirts that never seize to end. He comes to class with a new shirt every day and you'll never know what he'll sport tomorrow. This guy is hilarious too and most informative laid back teacher.
OK, look. Too many people miss the gist of this guy. IF you are NOT the sensitive, culturally 'neato' type, then you will enjoy the anecdotes of a professor who has PhD. and has been out there doing life for awhile. He has an ADULT sense of humor (though not mine), and it's more like you will encounter in the real world+NO real work til sem. end
Professor Klein was the EASIEST teacher I've ever taken! I took his class for a summer class and I passed with an A all you do is shut up and write the paper! He's straightforward so if you're sensitive then DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS but he's a sweet man!
This guy is fantastic. Incredibly knowledgeable and straightforward. You have a month to write 15 pages for the final. A month. This guy talked about the greatest experiences one could have. If you're sensitive about political correctness, you'll hate him. If you can handle hilarious barbs and comments, take this man.
