I have had Cs in english until I took this class, and now Ive had a 99% all semester, his clear instructions and deadlines make everything easier to understand and motivates me to get my work done. There are snacks in class and we talk and write about actual current events and how they relate to you, which makes writing essays easier.

Lorenzo is such an amazing professor! He provides coffee and snacks for all his students which many teachers do not do. One thing I loved about his class was a lot of his lectures were based on historical/current events. He requires a one-page essay every week, which is honestly really simple. I can't wait to take this class again next semester!!

Has simple request. Its not a hard class to take but you do have to be on top of your work because whats late is late, no excuses. But as long as your on top of work, and do things on time your more than solid. Very kind and keeps your attention throughout every class.

I liked having Professor Lorenzo he is very kind. What he asks for work is not hard and one can receive a perfect A.

He is extremely personable and down to earth. There is an essay due each week but the prompts are not difficult. Attendance is a big part of your grade and he is not afraid to give you a negative but he does give a five min grace period to get to class before marking you late. But over all great class and I am planning on taking his Eng 102.

Mr Lorenzo is a great teacher as long as you care about the course hell care about your grade. No 10 page papers (mostly one page) show up and try and hell reward you for your effort.

Theres a pretty strict attendance policy, and a paper every week, but they all relate to the lessons and are useful if you plan on taking any other English classes.

Professor Lorenzo is a very nice, caring guy. His class is heavily revolves around politics. He gives everyone equal chance to express there beliefs. He does grade incredibly harsh but If you do everything 100% correct you will do incredible in the class. I would recommend him over any English 102 teacher at Scottsdale community.

The essay topics are easy to write about, and they average about a page a week. Lecture topics are relavent to current events. He provides a very specific format for papers, but does take a lot of points off if you forget a part of this format. I would advise using the format as a checklist when reviewing your papers.

Good teacher, places focus on politics as a good way of teaching argumentative essay writing. Grades minor formatting errors much harsher than the actual content of the essay.

One of the best teachers I've had and the best English teacher I've had! He has genuine enthusiasm for the class and has a different approach to giving homework. Instead of giving huge assignments he'll give small assignments every week which get you engaged with the class. Snacks every day are an amazing bonus too! Just don't be late to class.

One of the best English professors I've had, I love showing up to every class. I think he could be a bit more harsher of a grader as I owe a lot of my writing proficiency to strict graders however he allows a large degree of freedom on the weekly writing assignments so I understand that could be difficult. One of the best ENG101 classes offered.

With Lorenzo, you can tell he really cares about his job and class. He has great enthusiasm for his course, and is always willing to go the extra mile to make sure his students are getting the best experience they can. Overall enjoyable class with a great teacher. I took him for ENG101 and decided to stay with him the following semester. He cares about his students. Although most assignments are topic based with less emphasis on core English concepts, hes one heck of a teacher! Take this class. (And show up or youll fail)

When it comes to English professors, Lorenzo is definitely at the top. Every topic relates to a real world issue, not some old timey text that puts you to sleep. I took him for both 101 and 102, and the classes are relatively similar. He really cares about his students. He creates a classroom where even the most introverted student is comfortable to speak up. Ties subject material with current event discussion. I'm going to miss him so much. I really recommend him for ENG101 + 102

Professor Lorenzo is an incredibly kind, courteous, and inclusive professor. He always makes sure to check in with everyone to see how they're doing and will work with you to make sure you succeed. My only complaint is that this class does not focus much on how to write a college essay and will not teach you much in terms of writing in general.

Professor Lorenzo is absolutely amazing. 0 tests but many short essays (like 1 page essays 2 times a week). He's very energetic and fun and open to all points of views. I liked him so much for 101 I signed up for his 102 next semester.

He is a great professor. He gives clear guidelines to what needs to be done. You do have homework every week but it is simple and pretty easy work to get done. If you have problems with anything you can always talk to him and he is usually pretty chill and works out whatever the issue is.

I truly have enjoyed this class and Professor Lorenzo, he is very understand and a great guy all around. He does give 1 page essays due every week but they are very easy and a lot of the writing is from the heart. Definitely recommend him!!!:)

Professor Lorenzo makes class more fun with what we talked and read about. The textbook may seem boring; however, the class discussions after are the most interesting and thought-provoking. The papers are no problem as long as you actually write them and turn them in. He pushes us to not only be good students but good people.

Super outgoing and kind everyday. Essays are never long and lectures are always relevant to current day or things we care about.

Incredibly genuine man, passionate about class. If you dont like writing you may not like his class, but the amount of work is more than manageable if you care to put time into it.

Very nice and caring instructor, always makes sure that everyone is doin' alright. Be prepared to write an essay a week.

Professor Lorenzo is a really great professor. He knows his subject very well and is a very supportive & compassionate human being. He makes himself really easy to reach by text. Great lectures, easy grader, hard attendance policy. Show up to class on time or it will really effect your grade!

Was an amazing class, the only homework that had to be done was a one page paper each weekend and that was it. Highly recommend for ENG 101, I'm definitely going to take his 102.

Professor Lorenzo is the best professor I have experienced. He made my first year of college a lot less stressful. Very easy class and teaches you many life lessons along the way.

A really amazing class. I enjoyed the lectures & discussions a lot. Truly cares for his students & how they are doing. As a teacher he wants their opinions & listens to what they have to say. He works with you/is understanding. Attendance matters, don't be late- it'll impact your grade. Hw is typically a weekly essay, minimum of 1 pg (not bad)

The class was easy if you follow along to what he says. He makes everything very easy to understand and the instructions for everything are very clear. He does about five extra credit opportunities. I am also taking his 102 next semester.

ENG101 was one of my first college classes I ever took. This class was pretty easy, all you had to do was show up and participate in the lecture. He was laid back and understanding which made me feel like I was in a safe and comfortable learning environment. We had to write essays each week but as long as you did them you would get a good grade.

Words cannot explain how genuine and amazing of a person George Lorenzo is. He has made an actual impact on my life. I am a junior now and he inspired me to keep pushing for the best. He knows each and every student by name, and checks on/includes all. He even brought me a congrats card to class when he found out I got accepted to a university.
