this guy gives you grades randomly. my friend got 2 Fs and a B and he gave him a B, but me I got a B ,C,C- and he gave me a C. you can't expect what he might give you. very unfair.

Dr.Ogar is the simply the best! I recommend you go to office hours, ask questions, just show him you're trying, and even if you fail all your tests... he'll pass you. His tests are multiple choice, and isn't hard. Lectures are fun and kick back.

He is a great great teacher! He knows which subject most students tend to have difficulty to understand and how to explain it reasonablly. very friendly and helpfull. Lecture is even funny not boring at all, but a little bit tricky questions on the exam.

Great teacher!!! If you're confused, he helps out, he keeps you entertained during the long lectures which helps keep you up which equals a good grade. He doesn't play favorites, nor does he favor you for "brown nosing" I would with out a doubt recommend him

The class was easy, however, I didn't like the teacher. He treats his students like a bunch of dumbasses. When you ask him a question, he gonna make u feel stupid, so think b4 u ask questions.

Best Chem 101 teacher at Pierce. Makes learning as entertaining as chemistry can get. Don't take him so seriously, hes joking around most of the time. Chem is a hard class, expect to spend alot of time studying for any teacher. Ogar is my favorite professor... ever.

He is a very helpful guy. He is funny and clear when he lectures. But here what makes him an ok teacher as oppose to a great teacher: HE IS CRAZY, in that, that he enjoys making his tests so hard that everyone cry. Also he gives you practice test but it has absolutely nothing to do with the actual tests. u can get a B if you study 8542957 hrs a day

I enjoyed this class, He helped me a lot in the lab, He extended his office hours before tests. really friendly with students. his tests are a little hard and tricky but not impossible. one quiz a week before each test. he curves, final was easier. AMAZING teacher, very rare that you get a hard science teacher this good, clear,and helpful. He has a great relationship with students and is very funny. If you are not a chem wiz, then this class is hard because of the subject matter, but not because of the teacher. He is very helpful and clear, he gives workshops (practice problems)and practice test are available in the library.

Dr. Ogar is a really good teacher for the Chem 51 student; he approaches the material in different ways so that anyone who wants to learn will find an approach that helps them. He makes himself available for extra review and study sessions--even on a Friday night! He is a true teacher--professional, thorough, and patient with his students.

Dr. Ogar is a GREAT professor. He explains the material very well; he is approachable, very patient, and offers extra office hours even on Friday nights. Just come to class, study, and asks questions to clarify things because some of the questions are a bit tricky on tests, but it is doable to get A. And he is very FUNNY and WITTY. A+ for Dr. Ogar.

I cant believe I had a teacher like him..There is no one like this man. He is incredible. Very helpful,makes the whole subject very fun. His lectures are funny but his exams are insufferable. Go over and over the examples he does in class; use the text for extra reading/reference if you have time. He is helpful and makes himself available to his students for advice, or to listen to them beg for pity points. Just learn how to hit his curve balls on the exams.

For those who are not Dr. Ogar, success in this class depends on attending every every lecture, studying for tests from corrected labs and quizzes, and turning in lab reports on time. Register early or you can't get in. All the cool kids take Ogar and you would hate to feel uncool.

He was a good teacher but his tests were unbelievably hard and extremely tricky. The tests were 25% lecture, 10% book, and the rest was a free for all. He curved all the tests and quizzes though. Still he was a good teacher with good teaching methods and lectures. He also helped you when you needed it. Overall though, those tests were unbearable.

This guy and Solof are probably the best chem teachers at Pierce college. However,unlike Soloff, Ogar's tests are very tricky. Just study hard and he'll hook you up. got an A in the class

I've taken Chem before & didn't understand it till I took Prof Ogar. He wants to make sure you understand the material before he moves on to the next subject. The labs were easy, & although homework isn't collected, I recommend doing the homework. His tests were pretty easy besides a few tricky questions. Overall, I really enjoyed taking his class.

Dr. Ogar is definately an exquisite professor in that he gets his job done while maintaining a calm demeanor among the class. Quizzes simply prepare you for the exams and don't count too much towards your grade. Definately read the book and use lecture notes to study, but also go to office hours. Dr. Ogar is the best! I usually get stressed with Chemistry, but even though there was work to be done his class environment provided the fun element that kept me relaxed and interested. I did use the book alot and the lecture notes reinforced all the key material. I mostly studied off old workshops and did a couple of homework problems.

Okay... Dr. Ogar is a great teacher, but when it comes to the tests, things can get a bit messy. When calculations are involved, its fairly straightforward, but the "easy" questions that don't involve calculations tend to throw people off. If you think you can overcome the tricks on the tests, hes a great professor. Thank you Dr. Ogar!

Ogar keeps the students engaged with his constant sarcastic humor. It borders on indecent, but we're all adults and he's one hell of a fun guy to work with. His lectures are clear and he was always willing to help with confusing concepts, even those that exceeded the scope of the course. I highly recommend taking one of his courses.

Dr.Ogar as a teacher is not for the faint of heart. In hindsight, the test seemed easy and simple. But during the course, the test questions bordered on the insane. He definitely caused a lot of sleepless nights. However, he is the type of teacher that you hate to have but will be thankful you did down the road. Helpful, Engaging, Entertaining.

I loved this class. Chemistry can be boring, but I found the lectures to be not just interesting and informative, but entertaining as well. Not only that, but he's extremely helpful. He really wants each and every one of his students to understand the material. I would recommend him to anyone.

I never took chem in high school so I was really nervous about this class! But Dr. Ogar opened my eyes to the world of science, leaving me more confident than ever. This was so cheesy but it had to be said! Take his class!!

chem 51 HE IS AWESOME! funny and very understanding of every problem you might have. he offers tutoring sessions on his own time that are hours long !

I had him for the Chemistry 102 lab. He's a great guy, really made labs fun. He grades hard on some of the qualitative analysis, and took 20 points off for a cover page on labs, which I didn't like, but overall, I would highly recommend him. Fun, easy to get along with, clear, and rewards you for your work.

Had Ogar for 102 lab. He's very helpful and will give you the grade you honestly deserve. If you do your work and do it right, you'll get a great grade in his class. He's always there to help if you need him and he's very kind. And don't forget: HAM BEZAN!

READ THIS REVIEW. His class isn't boring which is a plus. However, he tries to trick his chem 51 students on EVERY test. It's annoying. We aren't chemisty majors, so I don't understand why he tries to trick us. Over all, he is a good teacher and you will be happy that you took him. He degrades ppl & uses tons of sarcasm. He'll help u in office hrs most of the time but his grading scale is very tough. I like that he's honest about what he doesnt know. Generally he seems to know his stuff. Try to take his rudeness as a joke coz he does it w/ lots of ppl. Listen to his lab lecture b4 starting the lab -- his hints really help.

Mr. Ogar is definitely a great professor, who I had for Lab. Provides an opportunity to repeat lab reports, if you miss some points, within a 24-hour interval. He is very kind at heart despite his sarcastic disposition, refrain from taking his banter seriously. Pay careful attention to his explanations, especially if you don't want to be picked on.

Had him for lab, and he was always really helpful whenever I had a question. I also found his sarcastic humor very funny, even when he made fun of me. He explains the lab very well in the beginning of class, so you don't feel lost when you start on your own. Definitely take Ogar if you have the chance to!

Sarcastic, but means well. He can go over things rather quickly, but then again, there's a lot of material to learn. The tests are designed to trick you, but they're not TOO difficult. Overall, great professor. :D

his lectures are great, engaging and funny. if you attend them and understand then, then the tests will be easy. you don't have to memorize the solubility rules and even puts equations on the board on test day. On the final he allowed us to have a cheat sheet :)

Dr Ogar is very helpful and wants every student to pass. He is not one of those professors that is putting his efforts into weeding students on. He prefers to help as many students as possible pass. The online homework can be frustrating bc of the system but if you do hw plus labs you should be fine. He does have a sense of humor.

Love the class. Just listen to the lectures, do the online homework, practice exams, and you will be okay. Quiz before the exam. Need to purchase OWL for online homework. Need to review your Math also.

Dr. Ogar is able to easily convey concepts that other professors tend to present in a convoluted manner. Like any chemistry course, you have to do the work if you want a good grade, but he is more than willing to help and set you on the right track. I would highly recommend taking his class, and intend to take CHEM 102 with him in the spring.

Professor Ogar successfully facilitates this class. He keeps the tone light while still making sure that you receive the information you need to succeed. I would definitely recommend him to a student who might struggle with chemistry. If you apply yourself he will help you succeed.

Dr. Ogar is one of the coolest teacher out there. He makes his class so interested that you learn everything in the class and that is y attendance is really important. I would highly recommend him and if u do all the lab and Hw you will be fine about his exams. For his finals he let you have a 8x11 cheating sheet front and back :)

Really great professor. Has some funny jokes. You really learn from him, 3 exams 3 quizzes and 1 final. There is a good amount of online homework due every friday. You MUST show up to lab. His exams are based off of his lectures. You could get by without the text to be honest it just helped get me by and to understand the material better.

Dr. Page is seriously such an amazing teacher. I took two chem classes in the past and could barely get a C. I took Dr. Ogars class and understood all the material and couldn't believe that I didn't understand chemistry before because it was so easy, with perfect attendance and studying of course. He's so funny and keeps the class interesting.

I had absolutely no interest in chem before Professor Ogar's class, but he showed me a whole new interest to chem! He's really funny & wants all his students to do well.I didn't use the text book once bc he explains everything very well! Very helpful and clear. Dr. Ogar keeps the class funny and interesting. You must attend lab and lecture, although the exams and quizzes are based off of lecture. Very helpful (not thru e-mail) ask him any question and he will help! definitely the best chem class I have taken!

Professor Ogar teaches complex subject in a simple, non-convoluted manner. He didn't act egotistical, and always enjoyed a good laugh. You can get by w/o the text if you pay good attention. Homework is mastering chem, easy and helpful (lab will take most of your time). Quiz/exams on scantrons, not too hard if you grasp the essence of the concepts.

He's a funny professor thst keep you engaged. He comes up with funny ways for you to remember certain rules. Ask questions, do the homework for your iwn benefit, it will fed help on exams! Great professor!

Best instructor ever! He knows the subject & has the ability to transfer that. His lectures are very interesting & fun that make the rest of your day. YES! Chem 101 is hard & u DO have to put in time and effort, read the notes and book but if u do, there is no doubt to end up with the grade u desired.

His teaching style is good and he is kinda fair but the annoying thing about him is that hes all the time flirting with girls.

Señor Ogar was great! chemistry is a very difficult subject but having a professor that has a sense of humor and can keep your attention the entire class; on a Saturday class =). I enjoyed his class very much, just do your home work and the practice exams... READ THE BOOK it will help you a whole lot. The lab is fun, and was my favorite part.

He prepares thoughtful lectures and very helpful with mnemonics, formulas, etc. Attendance isn't mandatory, but don't miss any lecture/lab or else you miss a great deal of info. Doc is a no-ego-professor with a sense of humor who truly cares about his students.

The Best professor ever this semester. Although his class was challenging, it is clear that he cares about his students and is willing to help. I thought his humor was funny. 3 exams and 3 quizzes 1 final. Take him! You will learn a lot! He's awesome!

Ogar is the best teacher ever. I was never interested in Chemistry. And I'm still not interested in Chemistry. But I loved going to his class. You ask why? Because he's freakin' HILARIOUS! His lectures are well structured and like a stand up comedy act. And He's very approachable when you're having trouble. I'm so glad I took 51 with him!

I loved Ogar. He was great. Made the class very interesting and fun. Just because his test are multiple choice, it doesn't mean it will be easy. In fact, it even makes it harder to get an A. The only problem is that he jokes way too much. It makes the class less serious than it should be. Other than that he's the best Gen. Chem teacher Pierce got.

One of the most chill professors out there. No stress in the class whatsoever. All you need is the lecture! homework online is totally manageable and the labs are fun! He is a bit tricky (a lot) so you have to think outside of the box when taking quizzes and tests. I found quizzes harder than tests, but they make great study guides! take him!!!

Ogar is fun and engaging. The tests are all on the lecture material, so no need for textbook. Lab can be challenging so check in with him BEFORE turning in lab assignments.

Every time I take a science class, I'm disappointed the professor isn't Ogar. He just raised my standard to an impossible level.

Ogar is the funniest professor i've taken at pierce college. Although his exams are tough, if you come to lecture, read the chapters, and take time to really understand the material, you will definitely pass. He offers as much practice and really teaches the material so you're prepared. Would take him again in a heart beat!!

Tried to take Chemistry twice prior but dropped because of difficult teachers. Professor Ogar not only made it understandable, but fun! What a great teacher and a really nice approachable guy. This was a tough class, but if you show him you're working hard he is very helpful and will give you everything necessary to pass. He's not very tolerant of people who aren't well versed in chemistry or don't apply their knowledge. The lectures are outlines, get the book!! Make sure you have a solid foundation in chemistry before taking.

Dr Ogar is a very easy going, funny, caring professor. I took him for chem 102 winter which was TOUGH. But he made it so much better. He was so fun and funny and really cared about us. No partial credit on test .that is tough. He curved 10 percent once and nothing on another. Thats the trickiest part but u just need to study and he will help you!!

He's funny but more importantly, he's excellent at packing in relevant content into his lectures. You'll only ever need to reference the textbook, not study heavy. There will be jokes and occasional idiosyncrasies but not enough to derail lecture. On everything but exams and quizzes, he ensures that you get full 100's through thorough help.

Professor Ogar is the best professor I have met. I took Chem101 in summer for 5 weeks. It was a short course, so it went fast but Professor Ogar made it easier by his straightforward lecture. His class was also funny with jokes. I even didnt use the book, just learnt his note. When you understand, you can beat quizzes and tests. Take him to learn.

Dr. Ogar is one of the most talented science professors I have come across; a truly consummate teacher. He is patient, grades fairly, and is down-right hilarious. His dry sense of humor makes class enjoyable. Most importantly he really cares about his students' understanding of the material. Tests are based off notes, mild curve, no xtra credit.

His class is very straight foward. You don't even need to write notes in his class. All you need to do is study and understand his workshops, practice tests , & quizzes. For his workshops, you mainly need to read the book and sometimes watch YouTube videos. You won't regret taking him.

Loveee Dr. Ogar!!! I was honestly really scared to take chem because I struggled in high school but he made it fun and easy. Just make sure to write down all the notes and PAY ATTENTION so that the tests and quizzes are easy. I studied just his notes and that was all I needed.

Great professor! Really knows what he's talking about, but you really have to pay attention during lecture. Workshop is the best time to ask any questions you have. BUT his tests & quizzes are difficult, and go more in depth than what he teaches. So you need to study in groups or skim the textbook to cover EVERYTHING. Def. would take him again!

Dr. Ogar is hilarious! I took his Chem 51 on Saturdays(8 hours) and it was not bad at all. I had taken multiple chem classes and did terrible so I came into his class terrified. You definitely need to take good notes, ask questions, and read the textbook if something is still unclear. I got an A in his class! You can too! Just Study

3 Quizzes/Exams & the final. There is online HW every week but he gives you a week to complete it but the hw is very helpful. Labs correlate w/lectures so you should try to not miss the lecture. Lectures/HW/Lab Exam questions. The book wasnt necessary but was used for extra reference. Overall if you put the effort youll pass.

He is funny and very helpful if you ask questions. His lab was super easy, just make sure you can do the calculation, and turn in the report on time. His grading was easy, if you can show him how you can calculate and explain why you got the errors, you will get full credit!

Really nice guy with an interesting sense of humor lol. Goes over super easy problems during lecture but tests/quizzes are a lot more in depth and consist of some things you haven't seen before. I took it in 5 weeks but I'm sure I could've gotten an A if I didn't rely on only studying notes. Curves tests and is generous when giving the final grade.

Ogar's the best! He made the class very efficient and didn't waste time or energy on things we don't really need in order to understand the material and to succeed in the class. He makes the lectures super simple. This was my second time taking Chem 101 Lab, I got it and actually enjoyed the lab. He's funny and extremely helpful. Glad I took him!!

He's a nice person and he teaches good. Just beware his lectures are nothing like what is based on his exams or quizes. He teaches you the simple way to solve a problem, but when you take your Exam or quiz, it is very diffrent. Homework is on Cengage online and you have to do it. I didn't like that is Lectures don't have any base on his actual test

Took his Saturday classes(total of about 8hrs of lecture and lab in one day)& it went better than I excepted. Dr. Ogar makes lectures enjoyable which makes the time go pretty quickly. LOTS of studying is key for this class, I got an A even though Id never took chem. Online hw every week. Curves grades! Overall, highly recommend!!

Great teacher! You may not like him at first but you see that you are just be lazy. He truly will help you understand how to solve equations. he can be mean but I think its just more that he doesn't notice. Great GUY! I would had gotten an A in his class if it wasn't for my lab grade. He curves as well.

Professor Ogar was honestly great! He may come off as insensitive at first but you get used to his humor. This class is super Aleks heavy so just understand how to work it and you're solid. I ended with a high B and he rounded it to an A with no problem! Curves when necessary as well. The usual basic grading criteria, tests are worth the most.

He gives a lot of homework on ALEKS with very little time to do it. However, he does curve his tests by a lot. The textbook is useful but it is not required to read. His lectures are okay, I just wish he did more practice problems.

prof. ogar is a very funny and intelligent professor. he explains topics thoroughly and fairly well. his lessons are very structured, very aleks heavy (around 110 total topics that need to be mastered). overall great teacher and his office hours are very helpful
