Okay: his dad is the legendary coachn and yes he was involved in Basketball himself, but doesn't linger on about it. He's an intense guy! Know what your talking about before you open your mouth! He expects you not to slack, but he's suprisingly easygoing.

Conservative Nut!If you can stand listening to his views take it because it's an easy class.Easy to get a good grade.Only 2 testes midterm and final multiple choice&short essays but if you miss either one can’t make it up.You have to write a 10 page essay or if you didn’t do to well on a test/paper you can do it to ensure you get an A.

Real easy class. Just do the outlines and dont make them any harder on yourself then they have to be. Just do the bold face in the book and you will get an A. He is funny at times and flat out an **** at other times. Tests are super easy if you just do the outline and somewhat listen to what he says. BS class!!

this guy is great! he loves issues and loves to talk about it. his tests are not that easy and not that hard. please do not just sit in class and not talk.. he doesnt like it. he makes you write papers instead of having exmas.. so its a good trade off.

He scared me at first i thought it was going to be hard. Just do the work its really not that hard and the tests are pretty easy.

His class was very easy. All you have to do is show up to class prepared and participate in the class discussions. He really loves to talk and wants all students to get involved. I really recommend him!

If ppl dont participate in his discussions, then he makes u write a paper, so jus make sure participation is there. Overall, i learned alot and it was my easiest class!

He is very passionate about this subject but that's what makes a great instructor. He is very animated in class so you will NOT be bored. Participation is a requirement. Tests were pretty easy. He comes off as a mean guy but he's actually pretty funny and lenient when it comes to grading.

he is a really good teacher. he makes the material interesting. you have to pay attention in class to know what to write on the take home tests. but if you pay attention and do the take home tests you will do good on the final. his class was really fun. i enjoyed it a lot

Profressor Tarkanian complained about not having a hot pepper so now you have one (haha) anyways... I don't know why you guys think hes so mean? He just likes to debate and is a very smart teacher that makes psc101 interesting (which i think is very hard)! Hes an awesome teacher who is a conservative NUT! not really) but has pretty liberal grading

Mr. Tarkanian was really good about getting the class involved. I realized that he made the class applicable to daily life. Other than one instance I remember, he was really good at getting to the point. Take him if you need a blunt teacher who can cut to the chase. Warning: He cusses. A LOT.

That sums it up. he is a great teacher. he is one of the VERY few conservative teachers. he does share his views and likes when others share as well. it was awesome taking this class during election year. he loves his teaching subject so its fun. swears fairly often. also expects good work but he's not super crazy about MLA stuff

hahaha. people come on. he's a very good teacher, he has a different kind of teaching style that you have to get used to. he's very laid back and is always late to class but thats what i like about him. he makes the class comfortable and fun. he likes to be right, but its okay. i personally think he's very good at what he does :]

His teaching style is different from most traditional college courses. A lot of people complain that he's the problem but it's really the students who make him the way he is. When he gets pissed it's because someone made him pissed. He's occasionally late but it's understandable that his office is across campus. Tests are logical.

He's very opinionated & will probably offend you (unintentionally) if you're sensitive. He encourages class discussions, about 70% of exams questions come from his lectures, and there are multiple essays throughout the semester. He also says that attendance isn't mandatory, but a lot is covered in each class so don't expect to pass without going.

Yes, he is alot of the things that people are writing about. But what what is most important is the fact that he KNOWS what he is teaching. He is passionate about politics. He will get you interrested in the topics - we don't have to agree but need to be able to discuss the issues. If you want to learn - take him. It's worth the work.

A "professor" who may be helpful (depending on how you receive him) but is definitely NOT so 'professional.' He is loud, PROUD and has a FOWL mouth! He also doesn't practice what he preaches about being on time, etc. Would I recommend him? Sure. The class isn't hard (though he assigns ALL the ridiculously made exercises in the workbook!)

I commented already about how he doesn't 'practice what he teaches'. I wanted to also add that he doesn't give feedback on your grades on-time. He tells you to e-mail him. Regardless, he does what he wants, how he wants to do a thing and when he wants to do it, with no respect or regard for the student. One good thing, he keeps your attention!

Some of these comments are funny...and way off. Some don't like him because he is conservative. His Tests are SUPER EASY. His assignments take 10 minutes to do. PEOPLE WHO SAY THIS CLASS IS HARD ARE TOO LAZY. If you just show up to class and copy notes from his lectures (which are super funny), then you will get an EASY "A"...CALM DOWN PEOPLE!

I really enjoyed this semester with him. he made Political Science very interesting and fun to learn. What a excellant instructor compared to alot of none personality teachers. I suggest to every-one that needs to take this class. To go and have a blast!! While you watch the passion and fire and desire transpire through him in a crony way... 5 star

Tarkanian is harsh... but if you don't take offense to it then you'll enjoy his class. He's ALWAYS late, but when he does show up, he wants to go. HEAVY use of the textbook:pages are ripped out of book and graded the day of the test. Most of his classes are shorter thajn scheduled time. TAKE HIM!!!

This professor is fun and speaks to the students at there level so it is easy to understand. However, he is tardy for class (five to fourty min), he is disorganized to the point where he hardly remembers to hand back tests and work, sometimes miss grades them or losses them. His study guides are LONG and not everything on the tests gets covered.

Very fun teacher if you're not offended by cursing. He does yell alot, but he just gets very passionate. Not a fan of losing arguments, but gets over it quick when he does. I would definitely take Tark again.

Professor Tarkanian is awesome. He comes from a well known family but never brags about his family. I signed up for this class because I didn't want 2 history classes and 1 political science class completed for the us Nevada constitutions requisite. I thought I would be a boring class but it honestly made me be more politically aware of everything going on political wise in our country. He types his lectures on the projector and he let's you use your laptop. Awesome professor!

Okay guy, but he is serious about his personal ideology. Attend class, read over ur notes, and the tests will be super easy. The papers are simple to do, but his grading is an issue. If u r a conservative or can fake one in ur writing, take the class and get an easy A. If not, take another prof or settle with a B.

This teacher is fantastic. He explains concepts well and involves the whole class. He gives an optional study guide for each test that will boost your grade up one if needed. His political views are moderate, and he invites everyone's opinion with tolerence. This is the only teacher to take for this class if you want to get anything out of it.

Great professor! it's very easy to get good grades from his essays. Just make sure to cite your sources! For every test he lets you turn in your study guide for extra credit so it's super easy. I like that he's very passionate about the politics so you really learn a whole lot. Take this class! you won't regret it!

Extremely easy class as long as you do the work. Like the one said before, there is a study guide before each test which gives you a total of 10 extra points. Informative professor and knows a lot. Family is in politics here in Las Vegas, he invited his mother to speak to us, Lois Tarkanian in. She was great and it was a pleasure to listen.

Really great teacher! The work isn't overly difficult but it is time consuming. He is very passionate about his beliefs but open to discussion if you can back up your statements with FACTS! Horrible at returning graded work. Remember to CITE in your essays, and be an active participant in class discussions, and you'll get a good grade.

A very funny teacher. Doesn't assign many homework assignments and when he does he makes sure that everyone knows how to do it right. No attendance policy,though rarely accepts late homework, though there are a few in class participation assignments in which you get points for class participation.

Tarkanian is straight up, doesnt B.S but is funny. He makes learning interesting. This class really helped me, especially being my 1st year in college. He doesnt take attendance, if youre there youre there, but he doesnt accept any late work. Which is our responsibility any way. If you have the chance to take one of his courses-DO IT!

He is one of the coolest teachers you will ever meet. I had him for ALS 101. No attendance policy. WILL NOT ACCEPT LATE WORK. He helps greatly in teaching how to prepare for college. His class easy, but he gives out alot of homework. All you gotta do is show up and turn in the homework and you'll pass this class no problem. Highly recommended.

2 months ago I would have written a comment about how mean and conservative Mr.T is, but now that I am almost done with this semester, I can now say Mr.T is the BEST professor I've ever had in college. His class is NOT easy, and he is NOT scared to hurt your feelings or challenge you. But you will find out more about yourself then you ever knew.

I can understand why some people don't like Tark, yes he does cuss and he is very hard headed but this class has taught me so much, and even though he and I have COMPLETELY different views he respects my views and challenges them in a way that only helps me see every side to all situations. Cool teacher. He assigns a fair amount of homework, but he says on the first day that you can completely bs the work and still get an A. He does cuss in class, but it isn't really offsetting. Doesn't take late work at all. Test are fairly common knowledge, so they don't really need any studying. The book is $30 only from CSN, is a workbook.

I loved his class! Especially i am a lazy student his class is so fun and he is funny. Just keep your planner with you that is a life saver its worth all of your grade and take notes. But overall you'll pass if you show up.

He's a good professor! His passion about political science is quite intimidating because he is so knowledgeable but I really respect him. There are lots of chapter quizzes but they are so easy. His lectures create interesting group discussions

Don't take if you're easily offended. He's loud and a bit over bearing, but stand your ground if your views differ from his and make sure you have valid facts. Participation will make the class a lot more fun and easier. You will learn a lot. You'll understand the government and your ideologies a lot better after this class.

Professor Tarkanian is extremely passionate about Political Science and politics in general. His class is the greatest when students participate, he loves debating and including students. Lectures can be pretty lengthy but they are bearable. He is an all-around cool guy, gets passionate, and understands that we are adults and treats us as is.

Professor Tarkanian is an amazing teacher. He encourages class debates and participation. He does have lecture that is easy to follow. He makes sure we are all in understanding before moving on to the next topic. I really enjoyed the first half of class, when he opens up for general discussion. Pay attention and you will do fine.

Pretty cool dude. Loves his politics and debates so make sure you have a clear head and don't shy away from him. Doesn't get close to his students. Had fun in his class though and liked the debates.

This prof. has been the greatest Ive ever had. Ive never been some excited to go to class. He ridiculously funny, crazy, screams but all in the name of learning. I passed with a 105.47% due to his extra credit, which he has a lot. even one that boost you up a whole letter grade.

Strongly recommend this class! Attendance isn't mandatory, however, he covers a lot on the exam. Very passionate, funny, and will tell it how it is which makes the lectures so much fun. Lots of homework, but easy to do. Show participation within class he loves a debater. Easy class and you use the material learned. My favorite class by far!

Mr. Tarkanian is VERY outspoken. He will pick on nearly everyone (in the purpose of learning) and expect you to comment on something. So if youre shy, expect him to call on you. The class itself is extremely easy. He is a great speaker and the things he talks about will get you thinking.

He is nice but a semi tuff grader, lots of busy work for such a simple subject. The homework was time consuming , lots of reading. The book is mandatory. I missed a few classes but not may. He lectures and is outspoken. If you do all the homework you can get a A. Most homework and participate you will pass.

Professor Tarkanian is the funniest teacher I ever had. Most people think he's rude because of the way he presents himself, but really he's just a very sarcastic, very dry humored man. If you take this course, be prepared to argue and argue well. Stay on top of the news. Even though attendance is voluntary, show up! Some things aren't in the book.

Professor Tarkanian is a great professor, most of his test is in his lecture so come to class, sadly you still need the notebook though. He will always play devils advocate on your political opinion to keep you on your toes.

Excellent Professor. He does play devil's advocate and his discussion allow his students to really think about their political perspectives. There are 4 tests and 4 papers. Attend his classes because he will be telling you what he wants you to write on your papers, therefore, you WILL get an A. Use your notes for tests.

This classes assignments include lots of online discussions on random life topics, 13 chapter worksheets, credit plan, a daily planner (checked 3 times), 2 tests, a final exam, and lots of extra credit opportunities. Funny professor and genuinely cares about his students.

Professor Tarkanian was an amazing political science professor! He really knows his stuff, and is a very outspoken professor. I don't know how he has so many one stars because he is really good. Probably kids who didn't do their work lol. I would definitely take this class again in a heart beat. Probably my favorite class I've taken so far.

Mr Tarkanian is very heavy on his views. The book is also mandatory on the first day, so I recommend if you take it online for his ALS 101 get the book as soon as possible. Also attend his online lectures to get a better understanding of his quizzies and exams. Overall, he's very helpful in asking questions but he just expects a lot online.

He gives out four essays and he will postpone them if he has to, chapter worksheets where you find the answers to the textbook which are the easiest things to get done even if you guess on any of them. There are discussions and four open book exams online. Overall he is an okay professor and funny sometimes.

Class is pretty easy keep an eye out on the assignments there are some where you have to keep track of things for 30 days like your spending habits. If you keep an eye on homework and participate in the discussions you will be ok and he offers extra credit.
