Despite being an english-speaking prof in math (a rarity in mathematics) all you are taught is useless proofs that don't equate to helping pass the class. The tests are much harder than the examples done by prof. Doesn't quite get that most of the people in his class don't care about calculus but have to pass as a pre-req for another course. Avoid.

Great lecturer but exams have multiple choice that are weighted almost the same as long answer. This means that they room for error and part marks is minimal. The tests boil down to if you get 1 or 2 questions wrong you arent passing the exam.

Horrible experience. Tokarsky IS a very nice guy. Bad professor. More so with exams. I followed along with his lectures easy but he made our calc exam 80% m.c and 20% written. The m.c was 6 pts so if you got it wrong by accident with ALL the right work then you get 0. He put a question on the final from the last lecture of class w/o any practice

His lectures were really confusing and boring. It was hard to keep up with him and when students asked questions he didnt fully answer them or just answered in a confusing way. He marked relatively leniently on assignments though since he gave out lots of part marks.

Lectures where confusing, I watched YouTube videos about the topics before/after every class to actually understand what was going on. When students ask questions they are belittled or the answer he gives is confusing and convoluted. Does not put forth an effort to understand what the student is asking.

He's very caring and although this is a tough course, he gives great examples in his lectures from previous exams. Most caring prof I've had at uAlberta so far. He's speaks very clear and is an awesome prof overall. Makes calc 3 bearable.

Professor Tokarskys is certainly a difficult course, but he does tons of examples in class which makes the homework easier. His writing does sometimes look discombobulated and can be hard to read though.

Horrible! His voice will make you want to sleep, his notes will hurt your eyes (Illegible handwritten notes). When you ask a question in class, he will ask you to turn on your camera, and that will waste about ten minutes each lecture. In less than two weeks, the attendance of his class dropped from more than 100 people to less than 20.

His notes are impossible to read and skip steps vital to the understanding of the question. Doesn't actively do any example problems, and instead just forces you to look at his rushed solution. His voice will put you to sleep and he can't provide any help when you ask him a question. Would not take his class again.

Everybody is giving George a hard time, but so far he is the best calculus professor I have had. He teaches at a pace in which everybody should be able to keep up. When he writes the exams, it is all multiple choice, but the questions are heavily note based. I had to drop this course the semester before, and George has made it WAY easier this time.

Prof. Tokarsky is the worse prof I've ever taken in life. His handwriting is impossible to read and his explanations are worse. In his exams there's no part marks; he is also the laziest makes every question a mc worth around 10% . Please I beg anyone who's reading this if you have another option of a teacher don't take him.

Decent prof, I personally found he explained concepts really well in lectures. Weekly homework in the summer term was not fun especially since many question required outside the box thinking that could only be achieved through searching the web. Compared to assignments exams are a breeze but there is not many practice questions for the exam

He is a respected mathematician, but he is not a good professor. He assumes that every student is a mathematical genius like himself, with difficult assignments and exams, and low grades.
