a very hard course with a very hard prof
he's ok
easy prof. easy course. bad scale
easy mid-term, but tough final
"easy prof. easy course. bad scale". Exactly! Try and get every mark you can.
easy midterm and hard finals.
Very easy midterms and finals
useful ppt lecture notes, though pronounciation is a bit weird
Way too easy. Ever seen a course with more than half got 95+ in the midterm?
not great, but got to give him credits for putting in efforts
still waiting for online content - course starts next businessday :(
Liked the prof, hated the course. Take 336 w/ Zhang, not Choo
easy course, easy prof.
He is very helpful teacher. His lecture is fantastic.
good prof~!
He simply can't teach. Did not understand a word he said. DUPLICATES pass exams (very unfair). Never available. Did I mention that he can't teach!
appears nice to get good evaluations. Actually he is very mean. doesn't want to help students at all.
GREAT prof. good at teaching. easy exams. wut more can u expect? all of that should compensate his pronounciation WELL!
He sucks, cant teach, not a good teacher.... prefer to read teh textbook is better to listen from him
It's E-zay!!! Needs more ESL and to check up on cheating (lots of TextMessenging during Exams) but a supereasy credit
No Comments
Easy Course, but I can't understand what he's talking about during the lecture (oh and he sound funny), and don't expect he can help you on questions, just read the textbook and you are ready to get A
this guy dony know how to teach but his exams are easy
extremely enthusiastic about the course material...funny to watch him get all worked up over an excel formula...lol, midterm was easy but his final exam wasn't "as described" b/c he said it would be comprehensive but it was 99% post-midterm
This is kind of easy course, but he may make some mistakes during lecture. Exams are fair. very helpful thru email. Need to improve language skills.
great professor ever!! Make the boring and hard materials interesting and fun.
Easy exam and assignments but can't understand him.
easy course but the lecture is so dry, bring ur pillow or just sleep at home like i did
No Comments
he is ok, pretty lazy...
his english is hard for me to understand.. i dind't quite understand him...
good prof, go through questions very clearly. Easy exams but that doesn't mean anthing since it's curved grading system. course material is knda easy to handle. no tricky stuff.
Gives fair exams but a little bit dry lectures...and often make stupid mistakes during his lectures...generally a good prof though
very nice prof. interesting course
easy midterms but hard final
Midterm is not hard. Just go through his notes, you will be fine.
he couldn't speak English....... class was easy regardless.
He goes on the topics really in detail. Midterms and assignments are pretty easy but final exam was confusing.
to me, he's not a good prof, he is going way too fast on the lectures, can't catch up to his notes.... he has careless mistakes in his notes sometimes.... his exams are ok fair.... but in general, i dun like the prof~
Some say he's unclear, but I found him to be a really nice prof that answers questions thoroughly. Midterms are quite easy - maybe too easy because the final exam was brutal.
He's done a good job.
I don't understand why people take Zhang because he's "easy", all the marks go on the curve anyways, why bother. Easy MTs, but screwed everyone up in the final
No Comments
Don't understand why SFU hire him, I don't understand what he is talking about, unorganized lecture, didn't see he put any effort on creating the slides and course website. Totally lost in the course....further, the TA he choose sucks too, speechless......and wasting our tuition $$
o crap.. that means im screwed... messed up on a midterm ... but then its a curve.. overall nice guy
Sitting through 3 hrs in a dark bunker with a guy who is hard to understand and material is very dense and complex - brutal. i don't think class was ever more than 50% full during lectures (except for exams) Do ask TA questions about asst's - they tend to give away answers
horrible...just horrible!
I love this guy
This guy is a total loser. Couldnt teach to save his life if he had to. Terrible english and very unhelpful!
MT and Final are super easy, I only attended 4 lectures (but went to every tutor) and just study for half a day before exams and still manage to get a B+. I wouldn't bother his teaching style/accent though. Take STAT 100 before/after this, only a bit harder than 232 on same material
he seems a nice guy. but!!! his final's so hard!!
Despite the fact that this was the most boring class I have ever taken zhang was a good prof who took the time to drill the concepts into our heads.
Mid terms are not too hard...but final is an ass raper. Class is boring as hell, but the prof is so friggin' hilarious. He's a nice guy and will help you out.
I thought he communicated the material pretty well despite what others may have said. Repeated over and over the important concepts. Overall nice guy.
He really really needs to work on his accent. Poorly organized website. He must be a damn good researcher.
I don't undetstand these who complained his accent. He is an excellent professor. It is shame to blame a person's accent if this person speaks English as his or her 2nd language. These who do not understand such an excellent prof's lectures should find their own problems.
Accent is generally not a problem. Explains important topics fairly well. Assignments are Excel-based. Tutorials are useful. Exams are quite similar to the practice exam problems. Bad website.
Nice guy who knows his stuff, just have to get use to the accent which is not that bad. midterms are good but final is tough! very very helpful prof.
This guy has a horrible accent and it's so damn annoying. You can't understand**** except when he says something like "you want ba-r char- you got it!" His material is OK though.
I was dreading this class pre-semester but it never ended up as bad as i originally thought. Fair class w/ predictable exams. And in regards to the accent, i am a white caucasian (if it makes a difference) and I had no problem adjusting to his accent.
awesome! take from him and don't take it from another prof.!!
he s nice prof.he knows his materials very well.if u go to his class and u r not stupid then u don not need to read the book.mt and final are quite easy if u understand what the question about.
The assignments and exams for this class were relatively easy. The 3hr lectures are hard to sit through though. He takes 20 minute breaks and goes through the material really slowly. I left half way through class a couple times so that I wouldn't gnaw off my own hand from the boredom.
Too slow for easy first part of course, then picks up speed when it gets more difficult. Maybe if the breaks weren't 20 minutes.....there would be more time for examples. Midterm 1 was easy - midterm 2 DEMORALIZING.
Midterm 1 was easy, midterm 2 was horrible. it's way harder than the class example and sample exam. If you dun hv any bckground, his speed may too fast to capture. Again, juz as all others said, midterm was a nightmare.
he's the best prof at SFU! i love him more everyday
He is actually a very good teacher. All you gotta do is do the practice questions and you will be fine. I thought midterm 1 and 2 was easy and the final was pretty darn hard. Other than that, he taught the course very well.
Midterm 1 was easy (well, I got 92.3%), midterm 2 was a killer (class average around 48%). Quite confusing at times because of his accent. Also, he goes through things really, really, really fast. He tells people to ask questions, but he never takes the time to look and see if people are actually asking questions.
I can't rmb how many times he says the materials r easy. But he is a gd prof. I'll recommand taking the course with him.

i didnt find the course easy but i managed to get a decent mark w/o spending too much time on it becuz its curved. final was nasty! and it was at night which didn't help. i had no prob w. his accent but i rarely attend lec. i hated his side notes. he tends to write all over the place.
In class he really cannot teach, his afternoon lectures are much more informative than his evening ones, however I went to the open labs and him/TA's were really helpful, in turn it was an OK course, not too hard yet you gotta work hard to get an OK mark
This class was easy! 2nd midterm was hard though, but the final and 1st midterm were easy. Good prof., I didn't have to read the book @ all!
great prof. accent no problem. really knows his stuff. tutorial instructers are useless. final was tough. material not that difficult at all. overall really good teacher
What's 4.5-5.25? USE EXCEL
To the guy who said "This guy is a total loser. Couldnt teach to save his life if he had to. Terrible english and very unhelpful!". No offense but you prob suck at other courses also. Btw this prof explains clearly despite his accent, which a lot of profs do.
He's a great professor who has very organized notes. He encourage questions & is willing to help. Tries hard to make his lectures clear & concise. Attend lectures b/c it HELPS a lot! =)
He has a ridiculously thick accent and even writes his e-mails in "engrish". This may be a good thing because it forces you to pay close attention. His 1st midterm was a joke, the second one was slightly harder. The lectures are boring, but he gives useful examples. There is no other 232 prof that I know of, so try and accept him.
Cant understand a thing the guy says and if you ask him a question he usually doesnt understand the question well enough to answer it properly.
not helpful at all, this prof sucks
Well, i agree he has an accent but it's acceptable. you get use to it after a while. I mean come on, if u complain that you did bad in the course cuz of the accent, really suck it up and move on!! i'm sure there are other prof in this school has accents.. Well, he really tries hard and he is very clear with his material. final is LONG!! and not eas
not very intersesting
At the end of the last class, everyone gave him a round of applause. He deserved it, a great guy, and a great teacher.
Accent hard to understand at times. Best thing: allowed a cheat sheet to all tests!! Means no memorizing! Overall so, so. Would hate him and the class if no cheat sheet. TA had a bad accent too, so spent most of time trying to figure out what they were saying. Not as hard as ppl make it out to be.
Great Professor, all things are crystal clear through lectures. He makes the course easy, making the average very high, making it hard to get a good grade. The Final Exam is mostly on the new material in the last 2 lectures, so don't bother spending too much time on midterm material. Not very helpful, but he hires good TAs with good hours.
Notes are clear and well-organized, but most are taken straight from textbook. Easy assignments and midterms but final was HELL(most ppl didnt have time to finish). The class itself wass boring, i personally find the tutorial to be way more helpful. Overall its an easy course but you do need to practice.
Chinese background. Accent is OK(both him and TA)BZC speak slow.My friend even ask him questions in chinese and the TA said to be his wife. Ha, materials are easy, but average is very high, so try to stay on top.First midterm so easy, second one get harder and final is long and hard. Open lab so helpful for the assignments.Good course overall.
Lectures are useless. Just read the book. Ta is very helpful but the Prof ......
When this guy talks, few listen. And those that do fall into one of two groups. Those that don't get it, and those that are bored because he's repeated the same sentance 5 times. If you don't like time-pressure exams, don't take this course.
He knows Management Science in and out. The simulation class is alittle weird, specially the exam portion. But he did a superb job teaching the material. This course is very useful.
He is dead boring!
he's nice
yep, heavy accent and talks fast, but common, he's better than most profs. .. his mt was not bad, fair , and sortve eazy, and hw was ezy as well. BUT oh man, final probably killed me, ridiculously longggggggggggggg
clear and organized lectures. punctual. easy assignments, however, final exam extremely difficult.
Assignments were not that hard. Final exam was very long and difficult. He's very thorough with his teaching though. Overall difficult course.
DOESNT SPEAK ENGLISH. theres no way to concentrate on WHAT hes saying, the WAY hes saying it will distract the hell out of u.
His final was very hard. Assignments are easy but everybody gets 100% on them so it doesn't help since this class is on a scale. He has an accent but its very understandable. He can sometimes seem rude when you approach him.
In order to achieve a good grade in his class, you need to attend his class often, because his notes are very clear and helpful when you are studying for midterm or final. There is only one problem, his pronunciation is not that good.
Accents sometimes hard to understand (esp. when he says bar charrr or urally). Assignments are alright but the MT & Final are super hard. The Final is no laughing matter...prepare to stay the entire 3 hours and still not finish. My suggestion, get lots of help from the TA's.
if you practice and study for the midterm, you won't have any problems. and do the homework, you'll need the extra marks because the final is BRUTAL. most people I talked to didn't finish..I studied a lot for it and still had to leave some blank. Good teacher..but I have no idea how anyone could do great on the final (thankfully its curved....)
usually one assignment every two weeks. easy assignments, easy midterm. Final is a bit hard but still managed to finish. bell curved. accent is much better than most of the math teachers. tutorial very useful.
well he just speaks too fast man. When ppl ask him questions during the lecture, he seems to be disgusted by that. he just keeps on talking for almost 3 hrs....how can anyone stand that? no interaction at all! assigntment is not hard and so is midterm, but class average is too high so it doesn't help anyways. not recommended
terrible instructor, goes over material way too fast and discourages questions during class. assignments very easy, 1st mmidterm easy 2nd midterm unbelievably hard and final impossible. no matter how much you study it will NOT make a difference.
DON'T COMPLAIN~ THINK ABOUT YOUR OWN PROBLEMS~ I THINK HE IS A GOOD PROF THOUGH WITH AN ACCENT BUT OK TO UNDERSTAND~ I THINK THE ASSIGNMENTS ARE PRETTY EASY~ 1ST MD ARE EASY BUT 2ND GET HARDER. ATTENDING LECS IS REALLY REALLY REALLY HELPFUL. JUST WORKING HARD ON IT.
Obviously the "DON'T COMPLAIN" comment underneath is Pof Zhang himself. he can teach the whole course in one class if he wanted to cuz thats how fast he goes. MT/Final are LONG and COMPLEX. not reccomended
I thought he was a good prof. He went fast, but his notes and examples were clear and explained the concepts well. It's not his fault the material is boring and the lecture was freakin' long. I'm not sure how he could incorporate class interaction into the lectures. Besides, even if he tried I'm pretty sure no one would put up their hand =P
I'm not sure if the "don't complain" comment is his own, but I'm one of his ex-students and I'm saying Don't COMPLAIN! He's a very nice guy and he tries VERY hard to lecture despite his accent. He's helpful in office hours too. How can a prof lecture without talking? If one bothers to listen and pay attention, he exceeds in explaining his material!
You won't need to open the textbook if you go to all the lectures. It's a little hard to understand him sometimes cause he moves kind of fast. The cheat sheet he allows is really helpful, use his lecture notes to make it.
long lectures, but also long breaks..can ask him questions during breaks, extremely helpful. assignments relatively easy, midterms fair, final surprisingly easier than expected. cheat sheet allowed, is very helpful as it will take a long time to memorize the many formulas. class is curved.
please, no one ever says he "should not talk" during the lecture. of course a prof must speak to teach the material. If you have been to M. Akbar's class, you will understand what I mean by "interaction", which helps you understand and remember the material a lot more helpful.
Good professor~ speak very fast but it's easy to understand. His examples were very helpful. His TA (sue)is great, too!! You can get better grade, if you work on it..
he's a great prof! the only thing is that you have to sit within the first two rows or its hard to see b/c he writes on the board a lot. i learnt a lot just by going to lecture and his exams are fair. in fact the first midterm was unbelievably easy. he does have an accent but its very understandable. the TAs werent very helpful though.
The prof is ridiculously interested in the subject; expect three solid hours of enthusiastic lecturing. There's no need to buy the textbook if you go to class. Tutorials are great because Sue basically reteaches everything. MTs are relatively easy; good class overall.
This guy is a very nice dude. He shook my hand after the final and told me to go enjoy my break.Assignments r easy, midterm 1 easy, midterm 2 hard, FINAL.. LONG + VERY COMPLEX.You need to study at least 2 weeks straight and go to the ta's and do lots of practice problems to have a chance. The course is curved. The ta Sue is the most helpful ta ever
easy 1st midterm.. harder 2nd midterm.. final will be the hardest thing u will EVER write in your life. but its curved so its not so bad. zhang goes over examples after examples.. but it makes it easier to understand.. but an ok class overall.
good prof, uses plenty of in class examples to clearify what is being taught. hard 1st midterm, easy 2nd midterm. final was lengthly and you definietly need to know the course material well to prepare for it. overall it's important to go to lectures and tutorials. great prof overall!
Force you to write, but you do not have enough time. Tuts are very helpful. nice guy, but teaches so fast.
I love George Zhang! Go to his lectures and it shouldn't be that difficult. Most people will stay til the very end of the midterms and final...so write fast! Sue was a great TA as well. Good luck in this course, you'll need it
very clear and consise in his explanations; gives LOTS of examples which clarify things. Must do questions fm txt if you want to do well. easy mt1, harder mt2, lengthy but doable final (not as brutal). definately go to lecture and tutorials; Sue is amazing at clarifying concepts. overall, not a bad class.
Professor Zhang goes through many examples to explain the material. It appears that most Faculty of Business students find this material difficult (if one trusts the comments below). If you are in a Faculty with a lot of math courses, both the workload and difficulty level of the course will be much lower than what you are used to.
You really need to do the practice questions in the book and go see the TA's before you get lost. Do well on MT1 and initial assignments because afterwards all the exams and assignments get super hard. Know your stuff because there is barely enough time to finish the questions in each exam or look at your cheat sheet
Not particularly good at teaching, never answers student emails. He's currently the only one teaching the class so you're stuck with him.
The midterms were relatively easy and doable. Make sure to attend all lectures and tutorials. Befriend the TAs! They're all very nice and approachable to ask for help. Do the recommended textbook qns and practice exams he gives us. I thought I bombed the final but I ended up w/ an A. Understand the material and not just memorize the sample qns! ^_^
George is a very nice professor. He is always eager to help and answer question. If you want to do well in this class, you must keep on track other wise it very easy to get lost in the course, since everything is connected. He provides practice midterms and lots of examples with solutions. I you do all those you should do well in the course.
He's clear. Not too hard to understand. He always says "I want to make clear...this." He always welcomes questions. He's okay overall. M/Cs weren't too tricky so far. He gives you practices and goes over sample questions in class. Pretty organized professor.
Dont choose his BUEC ever.Midterm one was super easy but he spent almost one week reveiwing it. Actually, TAs reviewed for you. Midterm two is harder than midterm one. He didnt spend any time for reviewing the final...He even didnt show up in the entire final exam.
when you ask him any question, he will give you a very confident answer (100% right), however he had little office hours and you are stuck with useless TAs that don't know their material. He does not give you enough practise problems! be prepared to do more than what he tells you to do to get an A!
George is an awesome professor! He may seem intimidating at first but he's actually a great lecturer. He is very, very clear with explanations and goes over questions in class. Practice exams/problems are highly related to the actual exam. This course is only easy because George teaches it well.
I think Prof. Zhang is a great teacher! He explains everything very clearly and make it easy to follow in class. The exams and assignments are fair. I enjoyed his class.
He is by far one of the best professors I've had at SFU. He really knows his material and makes sure that every student understands course material completely before moving on to the next topic. His lectures are engaging and you will really learn a lot in his class. I would highly recommend this prof to anyone!
He is an excellent prof on terms of teaching abilities. However, it takes him forever to reply emails and tries to avoid letting you checking the midterms with him. In other words, not helpful.
He is very clear and nice.
Interesting course because George teaches it
I don't always take GPA Deflators, but when I do, I prefer taking buec 232 with George Zhang. One word: DIFFICULT.
Just do the work and this class is a breeze. People complain about this class, but I don't really see why they do. Great Prof who really enjoys what he teaches!
Rushes concepts, skips over important slides saying "don't worry about it, it's easy", when it's not easy at all. TAs are completely useless, and don't seem to know much about business statistics at all. Would not recommend wasting a semester with him.
Really great in the first half of the semester. He took his time to go over everything and was very clear. During the second half, he rushed too much, skipped a whole bunch of stuff and I left lectures feeling like I had a whole bunch of info. that seemed random thrown at me. Other than that, he is great.
Great guy, knows what he's doing. Go to lecture, listen, read the text and ur heading toward an A.
George Zhang was a great prof. He explains things so thoroughly and provides many examples, you know exactly what exams are going to be like. He is my favourite prof so far at SFU!
Think he is pretty ok. I'm not exactly sure what TA's do cause I rarely see them and even when them come they seem less than competent. Prof on the other hand is pretty organized. Only thing is that after midterm 2 it's like a mad rush! But overall he's good. Above average even.
Assignments are easy. Mid term 1's average is 80% (super easy), Mid term 2 is hard and the final is very long and difficult (88 questions). I did not have enough time to finish the exam but fortunately It's curve,so you will get benefits from some low quality students.
Great Prof, but the exams are too hard especially the second midterm. One more thing, He does not have a fix office hour, you have to email him to book an appointment.
Best prof ever! He is super nice and knowledgeable. Assignments are time consuming and he tests are really hard but I really enjoy his class.
George Zhang is the best choice for BUEC 232. He is super nice and knowledgeable. Lecture is very clear even though he has some Chinese accent. But in order to do well in his midterm, you need to read the textbook very carefully. A lot of small details will be given on the exam. Would take him again if he teaches 300 level STAT.
I like George. Great guy!
Everything before the first midterm was fairly easy, but everything after the first midterm just got harder and harder. To do well in His class, you should do the assignment questions in the textbook. His sample midtermsfinal are always easier than his actual midtermfinal.
He explains concepts well and you get to have a cheat sheet during tests which is nice. Everything starts out super easy (midterm 1) and then gets harder and harder. I feel like he explainsrepeats the concepts in depth during the first part of the semester but isn't as clearrepetitive when it gets toward the harder material.
His lecture was clear, and he let us know his expectation about the exams. Even though his lectures, assignments, and examples were all easy, the exams actually did get harder and harder, so students seemed to be unready generally. Also, the curve was pretty high, so be prepare for competition
Lecture jus too long, if one part can finish in 10minutes , he needs to use 40 minutes instead
Crystal Clear lectures But average is pretty high (83%)
final is really important, gives lots of A, the exam is easy like grade5 math. at least 85% is needed for a A-. Lecture is clarity and relevant to test.
Great Prof! Always there when you need him. He is really helpful and goes through the material really slow to make sure you understand the concept clearly. Midterms are a walk in the park as long as you do your homework assignments. Final is just a bit more tedious since this semester it was all written for the final.
Dr. Zhang is great. Lectures are clear. He is organized and very helpful. Not too much work and easy to get a high mark.
Clear prof, does his best to make lectures intriguing and takes ridiculously long breaks. However, a lot of students felt like he was only there to collect his paycheque. He is rarely in office, doesn't respond to emails, doesn't answer questions very well and doesn't tell you how well you did on assignments. Tests are long.
Lectures, exams are easiest compared with other profs. Not too much works to do. However, he curves the class and usually the avg is 85% or higher. Therefore it's easy to get a high mark but also easy to get a grade under the average. The laziest, most helpless and non-responsible prof to students I've ever met. Never or rarely replies email btw.
Great GPA boost! Hi weight on easy homework. Exams super easy because he always uses the same exams. Lectures unnecessary if you know his exam. I wish he taught more courses.
The course was okay overall but you have to work hard for a good grade.
Very thick accent, and given that some of the content was complicated I found it pretty frustrating some days when it was difficult to fully understand him. Other than that, he's a nice guy. A few assignments, midterm was easy but the final was significantly more difficult and was worth most of your grade. So, study well in advance for that!
Overall pretty good. Bad things that were really annoying: - no criteria for assignments - never got the assignments back or grades (week 11 right now and nothing) - the TAs he has don't respond to emails - doesn't use Canvas
He goes over everything really slowly and gives lots of examples in class. The exams aren't that hard but you have to watch out for the curve.
Liking him :) He is not tough and he is super patient to answer students' comments. He explains the lecture so detailed but you might find his teaching is kinda slow. Assignments are due every week .
Good prof! Teaches content slowly but easy enough class. 6 assignments throughout the sem, if you can do them youre good.
Can you believe that for a math course, all assignments are required to be typed in Word instead of handwriting? This is ridiculous.
He doesn't teach. All the lectures are pre recorded from a few semesters ago. He literally just reads off the slides. It's so obvious that people cheat in the class. In-person 336 average was 63%, and and online the midterm average was 82%. How is this remotely fair? Embarrassed to be paying this much money for such poor quality of education.
This class is basically teaching yourself off of youtube videos. The professor is absent all semester long and refuses to reply to your emails. The TA Ben is also very arrogant and is useless as he does not make any sense. There is clear evidence the class cheats and has academic honesty issues. Choose a different Prof, this is not worth it!
I taught myself this course from his youtube videos that were recorded in May. Half the time I didn't know where the answers were coming from as he was not there to answer my questions. This course definitely requires more interaction but the way this prof does it he is never present on email or canvas or lectures. Go a different route.
If you are good at teaching yourself off of youtube videos with no professor interaction this professor is for you. I had troubles understanding the concepts but clearly youtube does not reply to you when you ask a question. Professor was absent all semester long and refused to reply to emails over the term. I cant believe SFU allows such behaviour
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROF! I basically just self study the whole semester while trying to figure out how to do question from other ppl's youtube videos. He just read off the slides on his ppt and didnt even explain the concept. His assignment are difficult and I have to spent like 10+ hours on it every week because he cant teach.
The course itself was OK, but the real problem was the prof. He made 4 mistakes in his mid MC questions, decided to give one extra mark for everyone, but when the TA and I discovered 3 more mistakes, he refused to address the issue and did not want to discuss it with me, and I lost three valuable. He was also very rude to me because of it
DO NOT TAKE HIM - he does not reply to emails at all - both his midterm and final had extreme technical difficulties - reuses notes and instructions from the previous semester resulting in lots of confusion about the logistics fo assignments and exams - he has sent out the wrong notes on multiple occasions - unlearned material on some assignments
His midterm was terrible - had 17 unanswerable questions cause the graphs were missing so he took them all out which made all the other questions worth so much more. The final was also a mess - prof and TAs were disorganized and unprofessional and refused to answer questions. The material itself is okay but the profs and TAs were just a mess
The TAs were rude and unhelpful. The (online) exams were run poorly. The exam questions had mistakes making the questions logically impossible. All of the lectures were prerecorded YouTube videos, so I'm not sure what George was doing all semester. Would avoid if possible, but if not it's just one course.
I did not enjoy prof Zhang. He taught the class asynchronously which was great because I could watch the lectures at 1.5x speed. Stats is already a bland, uninteresting topic for me and his lecture style did not help
The class was very disorganized. Assignments would take me 10 hours to finish because there were so many questions to do. Both midterm and final were poorly run and all multiple choice. Professor was not accessible and TAs were not very helpful either. I would not recommend this prof.
George was a pretty bad professor. He obviously doesn't take in any feedback from the previous semester or improve his teaching; we had the same issues as the semester before during exams. Uses the same lectures from previous terms even if there are mistakes. Slides disorganized and really dull. The curve is high so watch out. TAs are terrible too
Very caring about this class, did not care about spending extra time on youtube videos to ensure we understood. hes a good guy
George makes this class much easier than it should be. he is a good professor who cares about his students. makes exams very fair and clear. does not try to make things overly complicated. pretty funny guy keeps lectures interesting. overall would take a class with him again. only thing i dont like is that he doesnt use canvas for assignments
The course is based mostly on exams, and the professor goes through mock midterms and finals through YouTube videos, and you will be given a cheat sheet. The only thing I didn't like was that the professor didn't use Canvas to upload assignments or grades. I highly recommend this course for a chill time and good content to learn without stressing.
