She's a great teacher and really knows how to keep the class interested and involved! You watch videos and learn through interesting examples, plus she gives you candy! The only thing I've noticed is that sometimes she gets her facts wrong when compared with the textbook. Just make sure you double check on her spelling, haha.

In a sea of nightmarish professors, Dr. S restores my faith in the education system. She possesses what I expect from my professors: an eager attitude about teaching, an uncanny interest for the subject being taught, extreme charisma, and a FULL, COMPREHENSIVE SYLLABUS of what we'll be doing and what is due EVERY, SINGLE DAY OF CLASS.

The best professor I've ever had in my 16+ years of going to school. She makes you want to attend class without effort. You're engrossed by her story telling (which may be annoying at times) but those story's stick to the subject at hand and right into your brain. I've wanted to pursue a field in psychology from her teachings alone.

"Dr. S" is a fantastic professor. I took her Psych 201 and 202 classes, both of which I got an 'A' in. You have three tests, with very helpful study guides. There are many extra credit opportunities. She makes the class very interesting and entertaining. The only complaint I have is that occasionally she will get some of the material wrong.

I had no real interest in Psychology before taking 201 with Statton, now it's my major. Stratton makes class fun, and she keeps your attention! I loved the class so much I am taking 202 with her as well. Just don't skip class.

This is the 3 class I've taken with Dr. S, she is amazing and makes class fun. There is no way you won't get an A cuz there's a lot of EC, and she loves helping her students, and is super funny.

You work hard but she will guide you along the way! Three tests, two papers, and a presentation... she helped get me into graduate school! Great mentor, great woman! All you need to do is ask her for help and she'll do everything w/in her pwr 4 u!

Dr. S is one of the greatest, most dedicated professors you could ever have. She's a pro at what she does and will make any lecture an entertaining one. Her syllabus is clear and concise, she tells you exactly what she expects and what she will tolerate. 2-3 group presentations (no sweat!) and a final project, that's it. Take her class!!!

Dr. S is very helpful and super smart! This class (cross cultural) was very interesting and I learned a lot. The assignments are not too easy, so get a pre-grade BEFORE EVERYTHING YOU TURN IN! Final group project can make or break your grade, so don't take it too easy, which it may seem that way. Just show up to class & do the work= A

She is a great professor who really invests herself in her students! Just show up to class and print out all the worksheets and power points and you wil get an A. Plus, shes super hot!

BEST PROF AT NOVA! You'll notice that she does everything on campus to help students from study tips to how to get a job! She's incredible and if other profs learned a little bit from her than NOVA would be such a better place. TAKE HER COURSE, you won't regret it.

Very interesting. Tells a lot of stories to help you remember things. Helps you take good notes. Has extra credit opportunities. Holds study sessions for anyone a few days before each test (you get extra credit for going too). Made the class really interesting.

She's so much fun! The class itself is very interactive and she has so much personality. You do have to make an appointment to meet with her, but she's very helpful. Rubrics are clear & if followed will guarantee an A. There are group projects, which not everyone is thrilled about. But I would take another class she teaches in a heartbeat.

Dr S was a nice and wonderful teacher. You could tell she is very passionate about psychology and knows a lot. Gives tons of extra credit only 3 tests one of them guaranteed open notes and beware of group projects if that's not your thing because it's a big part of the class and your grade.

Probably the most helpful and passionate professor I've ever had. She will basically guide you through your projects as long as you make the effort to show up and be proactive. She also makes this class idiot proof so if you fail all your tests, but regularly participate and do well in projects, you can still pass with either an a C or B.

Dr. Stratton is a wonderful, engaging professor. I have learned so much from her class that I have found to be very useful knowledge. She has a great sense of humor. If you're looking for some coffee or tea, she has a whole coffee/tea bar set up in her office. How awesome is that? I'll be taking her again next semester.

Honestly Dr. S is one of the best professors Ive come across while at Nova. She is super nice and willing to work with students. Her study guides and class assignments are perfect for the test, as long as you pay attention to class examples. She knows how to make class fun and get everyone involved. If you love psychology she is worth taking.

I can't say enough positive things about Dr. S. She's knowledgable, funny, and amazingly supportive. This class is structured so you succeed. Great extra credit (seriously like 50 points), pre grades, and study sessions before exams. There's no way not to do well and actually learn in this class as long as you show up and work. Definitely take her.

3 tests. Make sure you take good notes or at least print her powerpoints because 1 test is open note; she'll flip a coin at the begging of each test to determine. TONS of extra credit. She designs the class so that even if you fail tests, you'll pass, just have to participate & do extra credit. Test aren't easy so study. Overall awesome professor!

"Magnificent" would not be enough to describe her. She is very brilliant and I always look forward to attending her class. Make sure to print powerpoint handouts since that counts as an extra credit, plus a lot of extra credit opportunities. Easy to approach, and is always happy to answer questions no matter what that is. Got an A, will take again.

You can tell she loves the subject and is very knowledgeable about psychology. She really likes group projects and they are weighted the same as exams. Can earn up to 4 points to your overall grade out of 100 through extra credit. Study sessions are worth additional extra credit. One exam is open notes. With a study guide exams are n't tricky.

Great prof and super funny. Im taking her class right now and I love it. She offers a lot of extra credit, so its near to impossible to fail her class. She loves her job and you can really see it, and in turn it positively impacts her students. She provides a study guide for tests (1 open,2 not) and if you do it it will help you out a great deal.

She also does an excellent job teaching all of the different concepts, often using stories from her life. Dr. S definitely made the class more interesting and fun. You will have to work hard for your grade but take her!

Highly intelligent professor and I had the pleasure of taking her class. Dr. S does not lecture with a monotonous voice, which is a breath of Fresh air. She gives interesting anecdotes that make the material easier to understand. Answers questions with great detail and evidence and is very helpful. If you study and actually show up, you WILL pass!

I took this professor for social psychology and I'm kind of in the middle for how i feel about her. She's a great lecturer & she definitely knows what she's talking about and really helps you understand the material, but she's really tough. There's so much reading and she honestly makes you do the most, not really an easy A.

I took one of Dr. Ss classes previously and then Social Psychology. I have to say the latter was more challenging. Shes always willing to help you. There was a group project and paper, and other assignments but ample opportunities for extra credit. She definitely knows her materiel and youll always be interested during her lectures.

I didn't find this class difficult, mostly because I took the advice to complete the study guides before tests. Her rubrics are also clear and is followed to the T

One of the most passionate professors I have had. As long as you come to class, do your homework, and take part in extra credit this will be an easy A. The class itself is lecture heavy but she keeps it entertaining through her spunky personality. Homework is largely surrounded by online quizzes, two group projects, and an essay.

One of the best professors I've ever taken. I took her for PSY 200 and I enjoyed taking her class so much that I decided to take another PSY course taught by her. Participation matters and she grades you based on in-class participation. She is very accessible during her office hours and holds test-taking workshops frequently.

Took Dr. S twice, for both intro to psych and social psych, I really enjoyed her class. Though for both classes they require lots of group projects, if you don't like group projects- don't take her. She is always super helpful and makes her lectures interesting- no boring lectures at all. Wish I could take her again

Dr. S is one of the best at NVCC. You can do poorly on all three of her tests and still get a B in the class so that relieves pressure. Her lectures are engaging and interactive too! The best thing is how HELPFUL she is outside class. Send her a short email, shell reply with double or triple the info. She helped with my career choice as well!

I took her for every psych course I had. The tests are easy as long as you know the study guide and if you have trouble with some topics there are study sessions where she goes over it all. Group projects but she allows pregrading on everything so she makes it really easy to get an A. Shes a really good professor so you will actually learn here too

Exams are tough, but 1/3 is open notes. Make sure to read questions carefully. She offers lots of extra credit. When doing the project/any paper do an appointment with her to check it before its due as she grades very strict! (especially citation). One big group project. Chapter quizzes are easy. She always answers emails. Required to show webcam.

Interesting lectures with good powerpoints and easy to understand examples. She's really good at APA format and taught me everything I know about writing a research paper. Tons of chances for extra credit, including participation points. 10/10 would take again.

SHE IS SO GOOD AT HER JOB, TAKE HER. Her assignments are easy if you do them, there is one group project, and the tests are easy too. her class is lecture heavy, you cannot miss them much and need to participate. But she gives a lot of extra credit, you will be just fine.

I really liked her she was super nice. The only thing I had trouble with were her tests are really hard. I was always worried about them and they were super hard and a lot of us agreed about that.

I appreciated that points were given for different types of work (i.e. participation, quizzes, tests, verbal extra credit, written extra credit, etc.) She really cares about teaching students with different learning styles. She has great energy when lecturing. Overall great choice.

I absolutely love Dr.S, she gives lots of opportunities for extra credit which can really boost your grade, she is engaging and her lectures are actually interesting, there is one group project but you can choose to do it individually, and exams are open notes. I delayed transferring out of Nova just so I can take a class with her! This has been the only course in NOVA for me that I genuinely learned and retained information. She will pre-grade and tell you every little thing to fix so an A is guaranteed in her class if you try. She has SO much extra credit opp. Overall, Nova's best professor by far!

She lectures well. Tough grader. Big group research paper. Very particular. Gives extra credit. Attendance required (grade penalty if you miss more than a couple classes). Is not very clear on what she expects in order to receive full credit on assignments

She made the lectures interesting and offered a lot of various ways to get extra credit. You can even use your left over extra credit for your participation points. She's a tough grader but overall cares about students wellbeing and offers study sessions before the tests so you are prepared. She is one of the more memorable professors!

Psy219 Dr S is an amazing teacher. Her lectures are very good. I normally have a hard time concentrating on lectures but hers were very engaging for my brain. She values participation very much. You can get up to 50 extra points with just participation. The tests make up 30% of the total grade and the final project makes up 20%. Exams: closed notes

GREAT PERSON! She is brilliant and uses her real world experiences to associate with the lecture and keep us engaged. Very easy to get extra credit, fun and good at explaining things. I would 100% take her class again and again

Professor Stratton is great to be taught by. She is respectful of everyone and although her syllabus is intimidating, she makes it very easy to end with a good grade. I advise anyone taking a psychology course to take her at least once. She is great at explaining content and encourages students to reach out if they ever need help.

Took Dr. S last semester, equally satisfied with this semester as I was last time. Dr. S knows what she is talking about and is great with her lectures. Tests are fairly made and as long as you take the time to study the course content you'll do fine. If you have the opportunity to take a course w/ Dr. S, I would recommend it!

Dr.S is the nicest professor you can get at NOVA. You can FEEL she loves her job! for the grades you gotta work hard, read a lot, but there are extra points you can get no matter how you screw up one exam, there will be a chance to make up for it. Great professor and person! The papers were graded a little harshly, but if you set up an appointment with her it definitely helps! So much extra credit that it helped keep my A. Quizzes are easy, just read, study, and do your best. The majority of the class got an A! She has a PhD so respectfully, call her Dr. S. Take her! You won't regret it!

She is extremely accessible outside of class, even hosting workshops on test taking skills during office hours and has an incredible way of lecturing that really changes your perspective. However, sometimes some statistics that she quotes seem to come out of nowhere, and for the group project you are graded partly on how likable you are.

I don't have a whole lot to say other than I enjoyed her class, and she was a good professor. I recommend taking one of her courses.

I took her 6 week summer course and it was a lot of work, but I have never learned more from a class at NOVA. She cares about her students and will help with anything. If you meet with her for help on papers and study, you will do fine. If you want an easy A, I would not take, but she is amazing and deserves a raise for all the effort she puts in.

She is so fun and entertaining. There are a lot of extra credit opportunities and the quizzes aren't too bad. She is a tough grader so try your best when writing papers. But overall, she is great and I recommend her.

Overall, she was a good professor who explained everything very well. She clearly knew her stuff. I struggled to get into lectures because it was often interrupted by questions and distractions. Prof. Stratton is very friendly and offers great feeback. 3 exams and a weekly online quiz. She lectures every class and tends to ramble and lose track of time. Offers a LOT of points for participation and gives many extra credit opportunities. One big group project that is worth a lot of points. Online textbook is free and essential for tests.

AMAZING! She has high expectations. If you are active in her class and do your homework, you will do well. She holds study sessions before exams and she truly cares about her students doing well AND personally. She gives real-life examples to the different terms so you remember them. She gives a lot of scenarios to earn extra credit as well.

Literally W professor. She uses operant conditioning (shoutout to her for teaching me that term) to make sure kids in the class actually learn. I studied for the final and got a good grade, I think even if i did not study I would have gotten a good grade because she stuck the stuff she taught in my brain so well.

Dr Stratton is an amazing professor. Psych 219 was my third class with her and I will even be taking a fourth with her next semester. She is very caring, engages the students in lectures and gives multiple extra credit opportunities. I really loved her past classes I took and am excited for another one in the spring.

Class is ongoing the whole semester. 3 exams-only one will be open notes-other two are closed. Provided study guides and study sessions for all. Group project but you can choose solo. Participation 50 pts and can earn 40 extra credit pts. Can miss two classes w/o beginning to lose points. She does book checks. Lots of chances to earn an A.

She is a very smart person. Wants students to grow and succeed but is caring and understanding of circumstances. Fast & personable emails, many chances for xtra cred, 1 group project, memorable lectures w real-life examples, and a very clear syllabus that she sticks to firmly, but its reasonable. Honestly I never had to read the textbook > 2 times.

Professor Stratton is an engaging instructor who genuinely cares about her students. While the coursework can be challenging, she offers ample extra credit and study resources like Unstuck ai to help you succeed. Take advantage of her office hours - she's dedicated to supporting your learning.

Dr. Stratton is an amazing professor who is super knowledgeable about her field. I took cultural psych with her and she is super respectful of people's backgrounds and willing to meet and help students. There's a ton of extra credit opportunities and the homework isn't difficult as long as you keep on top of it. I would highly recommend her!

Dr. Stratton was a nice teacher and was very helpful. Participation and Extra Credit really matters for your grade, so make sure that you would use that well. If you have a MOA, she accommodates really well to give you enough time to take tests that are either open or close noted.

Dr. Stratton is an amazing professor and her lectures are so engaging! You can really tell that she enjoys teaching and is very passionate about what she teaches. I found her class to be my favorite one I have taken thus far and what I liked most about it was how she tells you real life examples and connections to the topics we discussed in class.

Dynamic, intelligent, intense, and thorough. Dr. S. is a tough grader but pre-grades papers (meet with her!!!!!). Throws candy at you in class if you get the right answer, and is willing to go the extra mile for students. She knows SO much about her field and is so passionate about it. One of the best profs I've ever had.

She's an amazing Professor! TAKE HER! Her lectures are super fun and interesting. She gives so much extra credit. There's one group project and very minimal homework. The exams are moderate to easy if you study. She is more than happy to meet with you if you have any trouble. You will learn a lot from her. Can't wait to take another class with her!

Professor Stratton is incredible. She cares about her students' success so much. She is such a great teacher. I typically have difficulty retaining information but she really makes it stick. You definitely have to study for exams but they aren't too difficult and she does online study sessions that are really helpful.

She's awesome! She makes an effort to be engaging with her class and explain real examples of how psych works. She can be a tough grader, but if you come to class and pay attention, you will pass. It serves you well to participate when she asks questions as you get easy extra credit. She's pretty consistent online as in person. I 100% recommend.

Professor Stratton was one of my favorite Professors at NOVA by a long shot. If you are passionate about Psych, her lectures are engaging and entertaining. Participation goes far, you receive points and candy for every question you ask. You have many opportunities for extra credit, aslong as you stay on task with your group project you'll succeed!

arguably one of the best courses i've taken, the course was really well structured and Dr. S seemed like she wanted nothing more than students to succeed. you could do pretty poorly on the exams and assignments (i did) and still score highly by putting in effort w extra credit. if you meet with her she will help you 100% and she's awesome
