Not a great class for note taking, rely on the text. Two tests, optional essays.
boring professor, but easy exams...make sure you take good notes though! got an A in his class during my FM year.
Very easy class. Didn't take attendance, or give hws. Only 2 exams: midterm & final. However, very boring as well. Is willing to answer questions, but make sure you take good notes, and do the review qsns.
very easy. Two tests- midterm& final. gives extra credit, and oprtional essays. Doesnot take attendance
EXTREMELY BORING but easy grader, I only went to class for the two tests and I got a B.
Why on earth I took this prof? But he is the only good one in POL department. Extremely boring prof.Just read a book and get easy A.No attendance.
VERY EASY, DOES NOT TAKE ATTENDANCE. gIVE GOOD EXAMPLE, EASY EXAMS. FULL EXTRA CREDIT...
He is very very smart but also very boring. For his religion and politics class he makes you write a paper. But if you can finish it he lets you take an INC. His exams are easy but u have to pay attention in class. He grades fairly easy
Very easy. Just do something - pay attention in class (2 times is enough) or buy the book and skim through it
One of the most knowlegable teachers. I would definitly recommend him to someone I know. Very open to questions. I learned alot in the class because of him. he is the best politics teacher by far.
smart, BORING, writes with left hand so you cant read****, 2 multiple choice tests, lots of extra credit. he is smart, but cant teach. bring a pillow though he usually doesnt take attendance.
He does not care about absence, almost no deadlines on the papers, easy exams and research papers.. He is the best...
good professor.
LENIENT GRADER. I LEARNED A LOT FOR HIS COURSE AND HE IS VERY HELPFUL IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND SOMETHING.
Great professor, very smart. I felt bad for him when nobody listened in class, it's a boring subject but he is an expert in it
nothing to add - take him
easy with two tests, borring beyond belief, intelligent but half the class doesn't show up, take him for an easy A, the only thing you need is to read the book for the tests and look over the review sheets!!!
No attendance, teaches straight out of the textbook (which is very clear), gives a lot of xtra credit. If deadlines are kept up with there is no need to go to class.
DeMaio is the man. Very knowledgeable in the field. Makes material enjoyable. Lets you finish your paper so it comes out right. Great lecturer, really nice guy.
best prof ever!!! nothing to say, just take his class ^^
thought he was great! nobody went to class which was fine by me because when those people did come to class they would talk all the time. if you like him, show up and get an A. if you don't like him, GO HOME and still get an A and the added benefit of not bothering people who really want to learn.A+
scribbles on the board for no reason...jumps from topic to topic..study his handouts and quizzes easy A....optional extra credit papers up to ten pts
Smart professor but boring. Does not take attendance. A midterm and final and 2 extra credit papers up to 10 pts. Gives handouts with the class notes at the begining of the semester, no need to take notes during class.
Professor DeMaio is a VERY SMART professor. His lecture is outstanding, I have to say. A maven at political science and history. His exams are moderate. Study the BOOK as well, not only the notes=grade A in class definitely. I understand though that one might find him so boring BUT I recommend him.
His lecture might be boring, but he is actually a great teacher, just that no one appreciates him.
He is boring but knows his stuff. You can sleep in class and still get an A on the test. Papers are optional. Gives 2 tests only. Studying not optional although tests are fairly easy, mainly straight from the book, a couple from class notes. Does not take attendance. Shouldn't get less than an A-.
he's pretty easy.just like wut the person said below me.really read the book, cuz the test are straight from it.plus he gives u review sheets.u'll be fine.
very good professor, very patient in his class, will answer any questions you have. The test are easy if you listen to his lectures, i never opened the book and didn't receive less than 100 on any test. Which is another great thing, tons of extra credit opportunities.
He was GREAT definitely go to class and you will get an A
I was interested in the subject matter, and therefore found his lecture to be quite interesting. He is so smart and extremely helpful. When I had a question that required his intervention, I'd send it to him in email and would receive his prompt response. He is wonderful!
Proffessor is undoubtably the most informed person about politics and government that I have ever met.Hes like a walking encyclopedia and I learned a very lot.Test are easy(IF YOU STUDY ONLY)and info is repeated many many many times. Class was rude when i had him but you cant help but fall asleep.
class is borin... but easy. 55 question.. 5 extra bonus question and 1 extra credit essay for both test... max point on 1 test 120points and so basically he's givin out 20 points extra for each test!! very easy!! he gives out notes and sample questions!!! no need to copy any notes! over all very good
Professor is a very nice guy... has ready notes for students, explains material very thoroughly, tests are fair (u have to study)... Has 2 EC papers plus EC on the 2 tests. He speaks in a monotone so it's easy to fall asleep but he's a great professor...
Hes the best. While others claim hes boring, thats only because he goes over the same material and keeps talking and talking, which is not necesarily a bad thing. While attendance is optional, if you come to class and take notes of his lectures you will definitely get a good grade. He also gives out up to 20pts of EC on each test which helps a lot.
wow, my favorite professor at baruch, hes so kind and caring, he is a genius too!! he may seem boring to people becuase his lectures are long but you learn a lot, and his tests are really easy, gives you as much time as you need to turn papers in, the best!!
Extremely ez class if you decide to go to the lectures. As for him, his voice is deff. boring and sometimes he can get in his moods. But overall, if you don't ask or do anything stupid, he'll be glad to answer any questions and can be extremely helpful. Just study notes and do readings, you'll ace both tests. Also, 40 PTS. Extra CREDIT available!!!
Very knowledgeable professor. Provides notes, do your readings, and you'll be fine for the exams. Also gives extra credit papers to help supplement grades.
this class is sooo boring! the upside is that he never takes attendence. this is a great class if you're ready to basically just teach yourself out of the textbook. there is absolutely no stress to this class though.
Professor Gerald provided useful information and oppurtunities. Even at the minimum level of effort, I predict students will still able to achieve a fair grade if they complete additional assignments. But please note that this professor does not tolerate students talking in class.
great professor who knows his stuff. Gives out study sheets to help to prepare for the exam.Plenty of extra credit;easy A.If you don't do your reading on time the class may seem boring. And finally, he doesn't take attandance!!!!!!!!!!
Class is very boring, i never used to fall asleep in any classes ever until i showed up for this. Doesn`t take attendance which is nice, tests are very hard. Be sure to read the chapter assigned thorougly along with his handouts, notes he puts up are mostly BS. ONly 2 tests so do EC if you can, try to go at least 5 times a month and you`re good.
This dude is awesome. Very clear and repetitive, which makes the class boring but easy as pie. Stresses everything that's important for exams. Gives a ton of extra credit opportunity. And if by chance you are interested in the subject, he is also very well informed and objective. Hard to go wrong with him.
HE IS VERY CLEAR AND HE KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT. HE COVERS ALMOST EVERYTHING THAT IN THE BOOK. HE ALSO GIVES YOU PRACTICE TEST FOR EACH CHAPTER AND SOME QUESTION COME FROM PRACTIC TEST. HE GIVES EXTRA 20 POINTS (10 POINTS IN THE TEST AND 10 POINTS IN EXTRA ASSIGNMENT. 60% QUESTION COMES FROM HIS LECTURES WHICH IS ALSO IN THE BOOK.
easy class- attendance not mandatory but it's a good idea to go if you don't plan on reading the text. the tests are all m.c from the textbook, 2 extra credit essays if you feel like it
Very easy to understand. Textbook also easy to read and understand. Professor provided supporting materials free of cost. One could learn everything one needed to know w/o the textbook; just come to class, listen and take notes. Only 2 exams (multiple-choice) for the semester. Extra-credit writing assignments for those who need it. Teacher A+.
Awesome professor. Understands that we have other classes that may take preference so he doesn't overload you with work. Flexible and understanding about handing in your work. Had him for 1101 and 3008 (rel. and pol. class) and definitely no regrets. If you have the chance to take his class, by all means take it!!!
He is nice guy who knows his stuff. He doesn't take attendance. There are 2 tests and he gives two extra credit assignments. I never really payed attention to him and studied from the text book before the tests, but if you do pay attention it helps and is actually interesting. The tests are multiple choice and are not hard if you study.
he is the worst of all! He comes to class, starts writing on the board, stands in front of the computer like a statue and starts talking. its like when you turn on the TV, does it stop talking or listen to you and answer? He lowered my GPA, don't take him unless you want to lower your GPA.
He is one of the best professor from POll 1101, he gives you opportunity to get extra points on the exam. In his class just two exam. If I have a chance will take him again.
The professor is really nice- we had 2 papers and an exam on terms- it really can not be easier. he doesnt take attn but you should go to class to get the handouts thers a lot. The class is easy u just have to do the work he is not mean and does not want anyone to do poorly if you ask questions he will answer them he knows alot take it
BEST PROFESSOR!! He is straightfoward with the subject and does not b.s Tests are pretty easy if u read the text or pay attention in class. Got an A and hardly went to class. This class will def. make ur gpa go up!! take him
He's not a very interesting professor. I sat in the back of the class for the entire semester, did nothing much. Basically, read the book, if you pay attention, you most likely will pass, but its very hard to pay attention to someone who is boring you! Exams are fair, based from the work he gives, just read the book and you'll do fine.
when i first saw this dude, he looked like he wants to kill himself. asside from that, hes great! honestly a good prof. only downside, hes really boring. if u can manage to pay attention, u'll be fine. read thhe book and do handouts, u'll be fine!
I love this subject but DeMaio took me to a totally new level of understanding and appreciation. He CAN be slightly dull in the day to day lectures, but if you are interested in the material you'll have no problem paying attention. A couple papers and a midterm--he helps you out if you have any problems. He's incredibly knowledgeable.
Do not think that this class is a free "A". The test has 55 questions. about 10~15 are from the sample test. And others are from the text book and his notes. There are A and B tests. They are not exactly the same test. You have to study this is not a free an "A" class
boring as HELL, but the dude is a genius in polisci, attendance isn't mandatory, just have someone sign you in and you're good. but trust me, its a really boring class..
At first, his class was boring but it gradually became very interesting. His test are fair and he is a straight forward & generous professor. He gave out review question and key terms. Understand it. "A" is very near. Take him!!
Relatively an easy class. Attendance is mandatory but it's easy to be signed in. Large class. He gives out notes for each exam, but they arent enough by themselves to do well on the tests, you gotta listen in class and write notes. Easy grading policy, if you want an A you'll get it.
I love this guy! He is a bit boring, but he knows his stuff. You can really learn alot. Read the book and take notes. He gives practice questions for exams and vocab review sheets. Also, he gives extra credit opportunities.
he is very smart and explain stuff very well. vey flexible and nice guy. there is a lot of reading but it is worth it because u can learn a lot. he gives all material, u just have to purchase 2 books which are very cheap. he does excellent review before exams, (2 exams are take home essays). i would deffenetly recommend him.
He knows the material and is very laid back. You can go into class extremely late and he wouldn't care. You gotta study to pass though.
Prof is extremely helpful.Willing to meet with students.Extremely knowledgeable.Very flexible.Grading fast n quite easy. You don't really have to go to class but highly recommended.Based the whole class on 2 big essays n 1 id test.Be careful tho since he's easy in class, u might slide off n when the time comes,u'll be skewed.
Real nice guy. Very flexible with the assignments. The whole class is based upon two essays and an id exam. Only thing is people become really lazy and when it comes time to submit work or take the id exam they mess it up. Just remember its like every other class you take. Take it seriously and you'll do great. I'd recommend him.
Lectures are confusing, goes from back and forth 300 years in history with no order. Three books to read, articles handed every class. First test Dec 1 ID questions. 2 Papers 8 pages each. Confusing do not recommend
a class doesn't get much easier than this. he gives you the notes, and review terms. the questions are so easy. if you can't get a B in this class maybe you dont speak english
What happend to the half dozen reviews posted on here between June 2009 & December 2009? Half or more were pretty negative. Prof actually brought up one of the missing reviews in class that was negative and it is now mysteriously gone. I found the material to be quite interesting, but like others have said, he is quite boring. Engage the class more
Very nice and helpful professor! If you have any questions he will always find time to answer them in class or after. Highly recommended!!!
Excellent professor. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable. One of those classes you will leave actually learning something new and useful. class was 1 test 2 essays.I took hist of prophet Muhammad at the same time and this class was much easier workload wise. Excellent grader. I highly recommend him.
everyday i went into class w/ my laptop and went on facebook =D i never paid attention. honestly, though, the class is pretty easy. there are only 2 exams. he types up all the notes for you, so you can just study from them. there are 2 optional extra credit papers, fairly short. just read the book and you're def. set. the class is not hard :)
absolute encyclopedia of knowledge on the history of political movements and figures of American history. can talk about Hobbes, Locke in detail and move just as easily to Burke. can talk about the Anglican/Puritans in the English Civil War and then talk about necons and the religious right. One exam. two papers. helped me whenever i asked for it.
Extremely easy!2 non-cumulative m/c exams, 2 optional papers 5 pages each(extra credit). He is a bit of a mess when speaks, but gives all the needed info, even types the notes for you + examples of test questions. Read the book and you'll get an "A"!
A walk encyclopedia when it comes to American Conservatism. He makes your life very easy when it comes to the class. He pushed our only exam until after Thanksgiving. Afterward, just 2 papers that you can hand in any time before the deadline to submit grades for that semester. His original plan was a couple of exams followed by a take-home essay.
One of the most informative and intellectually stimulating classes offered at Baruch. Challenging, but very interesting.
Very easy prof but u really have to study!!!!
i had no interest in this class and nor will i ever but he is the cutest old person ever. his notes are extremely helpful for his tests which are not hard if you actually study for them :)
Professor Demaio is superb. He really knows his subject and is very helpful. He lectures mainly so learn to stay awake and follow his detailed study notes. If you actually listen in class, you don't really have to study from the textbook. He's very direct in his tests and they're easy if you listen in class and review his notes.
Prof Demaio knows his material very well. His lectures are boring, but if you stay awake to take the notes there's no need to read the book. Plus, he gives out notes (which are helpful) to study for the test! 2 tests, both 55 MC. (5 questions are extra credit). 2 optional essays for e.c. Just study notes/read book and you'll be fine. :D
Bring a pillow or skip the class
THIS CLASS IS A COMPLETE JOKE. First of all, thE guy has no idea whats going on. Second of all, theres only 1 midterm and 1 final (55 multiple choice=worth 110pts) and there are extra credit essays for each test. (10 pts each). This means each test is out of 120 pts. 3rd of all, you don't need to take one note. ALL notes are on blackboard. EASY A+
This guy is awesome!!! He really knows his stuff!!! Exams are pretty much straight forward if you take notes, listen to lectures, and study his. Notes on blackboard that really helps alot!!!! The only thing about this class is that you Must find a drug to help you stay awake!!! Because it is boring!!! Esp if you have no interest in the subject!!
this guy is a history encyclopedia. he is adorable. please come to his classes, even if you need to bring your phone or laptop. I felt so guilty that half of the class never showed up and took advantage of his kindness. 1 midterm & 1 final w 2 optional tests. Easy A if you study
Professor Demaio is such a wonderful professor. He wants everyone to pass. Come to class and take notes, as everything he says will be on the test. His notes on BB is really helpful. His exams are so easy! Gives a lot of extra credit (as much as 20% to final grade). I learned a lot and highly recommend taking his class.
he is adorable but utterly boring! EASY A
great prof.
This professor knows the IN's and OUT's about Political Science! Very easy class to pass. He posts his notes onto BB, which are based from the textbook. Midterm and Final (multiple choice)and optional extra credit essays. Easy class to get a good grade..
Professor is very knowledgeable, but at times his class gets too boring. Attendance is not mandatory, 2 tests, 2 optional papers, no final. He posts his notes and goes through them thoroughly. It helps a lot. Textbook not necessary. i like the class + it's an Easy A
You do not have to go to class. Was easy for many people to cheat, I did not cheat.Only 2 tests and 2 optional papers to add extra 10 points to your grade.I did nothing but my last test and paper and got a C.
This class was extremely tedious. The professor does give out notes to study - this class does require study for the tests. 2 tests and 2 optional papers. Take only if interested in politics.
Even if you are in sync with the class he is boring, his monotone is annoying. BUT if you go and take notes you know what he focuses on exams. He goes slow at times so there isn't much of an excuse for not doing the studying ahead of time. Last minute isn't the best for this class. No homework, two exams, had one paper and attendance is a must.
The professor knows a lot about the subject .Textbook is not needed if you go to class and pay attention. He also is available when needed to answer questions. He also offer extra credits on test. However, the class is a bit boring.
class is extremely boring and unlike a few other pol sci classes i have taken he makes no effort to include his students in the discussion. the course material is interesting though, he is truly a walking encyclopedia and a very fair grader. take if you want an easy a and/or are truly interested in the evolution of conservatism
Like everyone else says, he is incredibly boring but it's so easy. I watched movies the whole semester read the notes he posted online on the days of the exams and I passed. Obviously this method isn't the way to get an A, but an A is obviously something that requires moderate to minimal effort. He is knowledgeable but doesn't have interactive skil
Class was extremely boring, like what everyone else is saying. Just read the notes he posts online and you will pass with an A. Gives out around 20 points extra credit on the final. Ended up with an A-.
He WANTS everyone to pass! Extra credit on all 2 exams, plus optional essays that you can do to get more points. If you show up and listen, it helps as well.
Man knows his stuff. Class is easy. Discussion is cool. Pay attention, discuss politics, history and views and it will be a fun class. Midterm (1) and comprehensive Final paper. Start on it early. Great professor, wish more were like him.
Attendance is not really mandatory. I only went 3 times and still got an A. Do not even bother reading the notes he gives for the test because they have nothing to do with it. Study the practice multiple choice questions he gives. He is very boring and his tests are pretty tough
Easy class. Doesn't care about attendance, all the notes are online on blackboard and he is relatively chill. I personally didn't show up to most of his classes and still got a 82 on his tests, not bragging but imagine what I would've gotten if I studied hard. I'm not much of a worker and yet performed surprisingly well. Take this class!
2 non-accumulative exams, that's it. Rest is extra credit (we had 1 e.c essay) If you don't like doing extra work, no worries he puts extra credit questions on exams (as many as 20 points) Tests are normally 50 m.c. questions, additional m.c = e.c. Easy straight forward exams. Only read his bb notes 1 day before tests & barely listened to lectures
This is the one of the easiest professors in Baruch. Demaio gives you an opportunity to earn 20 extra points on the midterm and final, which makes each test out of 120 points. He posts all the notes on BB, so don't even bother wasting money on the textbook. Gives practice quizzes which the same questions show up on the test. Easiest A ever!
He's a super sweet and helpful guy. He's old, but always there for his students. For my class, we have one test + one paper, which are LONG, but not bad. Lots of reading, and pretty lenient on participation and even showing up to class. Just do the readings and don't leave the paper till the end, which I did!!! He basically wants you to do well.
Professor DeMaio is the ideal college professor. It's mostly dictation, and you have to take notes. He'll write the essentials and say the rest. But the good part is that you WILL not fail if you fail to take good notes. He has a booklet of notes for you. Studying that alone can get you a B. He gives extra credit, that can easily get you a B+/-A
Lectures are pretty long and boring.. but the class is easy and straightforward. Make sure you read the material he gives you cause it does show up on the exams.
TAKE HIM! but tip: you have to attend every class even though its not mandatory because it's the only way you will understand whats going on in the class. He gives you the answers to your essays/tests in class. You're graded by a few things but he's very lenient and its very easy to get an A in his class.
Really easy class with a midterm, 8 page essay, and final. The exams consist of identification words that you have to write about. Luckily, he gives a list of those words before the test. Even though it is an easy class, it is EXTREMELY boring. The class set up is just him reading off the textbook. I would not take again for that reason.
You are only graded on 2 or 3 non cumulative exams. He gives extra credit questions on each exam so it isn't hard to get a decent grade. However, you should come to every class even though he doesn't bother making the class interesting. He will tell you what textbook pages to read, which can be boring. Reading his packet of notes isn't enough.
I would say he is solid. Really know his material but the class os extremely boring. Hard not to fall asleep. Good thing is he does not take attendance after the first couple of weeks(even if he says he will, he always forgets). Your grade is solely reliant on the midterm and final. If you need an easy class then this is it.
Has a grumpy personality and gets mad since nobody ever participates, but he makes the class as easy as possible. The midterm & final have 20+ bonus points each. Most of my class still failed LOL so theres an additional curve. He gives you all the notes and sample questions exactly like the exams. Only took attendance like 5 times and never had hw
An easy class. Come to lectures, he literally gives you the answers for the tests. He uses an "identification items" list and then asks for a paragraph about each on the test (10 out of 15 of them). 2 essays. 2 tests. his voice is very monotone so he gets boring. he doesn't check attendance much but come to class he outlines everything clearly.
POL 3008 is about the relationship between religion and politics in the U.S. Prof Demaio shows and critiques some of the ways The Supreme Court addresses the issue of the separation church and state. He shows trends in voting by religion and ethnicity. Prof Demaio is lecture heavy, but he is a lenient grader and willing to help u if need more time
Probably the most boring course I have ever taken. Doesn't give any homework except to read the textbook. He can be moody and has kicked students out of his classroom before. He is an okay guy, his class is just a snooze fest.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. It's an easy A if you ask a buddy to sign you in for attendance, and you just ask for notes to study for his exam since thats all your grade is based off of. He is EXTREMELY BORING. Human version of bad wifi, half the students fall asleep. I couldn't keep my eyes open and did not know what he was talking about half the time.
Speaks in a low volume and extremely slowly. No power points - Lectures consist of him reading off of a piece of paper for 1.5 hours. Extremely easy to become distracted and to daze off. Exams are all based on lectures and it is an easy A provided that you are able to remain focused.
This professor may be an easy A, but as somebody stated before me, he is the human embodiement of bad wifi. He speaks in a very low monotone voice which makes it difficult to hear him from the back of the classroom. This makes him very boring, which explains why half the class ends up falling asleep.
Professor Demaio should retire already. He is very grumpy all the time and speaks really low. Everything is based off lectures on the test, so you have to stay lazer focused and try to understand him.
Worst professor ever! POLISci classes are usually pretty easy but this guy was so rude and his tests were tricky. Stay Away.
His teaching style is basically him mumbling and getting angry. I was really looking forward to taking this class- as I was interested in the topic- but his attitude was a huge turn-off. Get ready to be on your phone the class out of boredom and then get screwed on the tests because it's based on his mumbling
Get ready to fail a course which should be easy..
Stay away. A lot of the class failed. I was one of the lucky ones
Was online bc of corona. 2 very long essays with pretty hard questions (6-8 pages each), but that was whole course. No lectures. Also, he's an easy grader. Would take but not an easy A.
The class is absolutely awful you honestly wont learn almost anything. His hand writing cant even be read cuz of how awful it is. Not an easy A
His class I very very boring and honestly you wont learn much. And exams are a bit tricky
Never bought the textbook. Originally, the lectures alone were enough to ace the tests. Once we went online, he stopped giving lectures; the class became based on reading the notes he uploaded and the assigned txbk chapters. I didn't end up doing either. Since the tests were online, if you really had difficulty, you could look up answers.
2 tests. Your goal is to reach a specific number of questions correct on a test. He gives extra questions on both Midterm and Final. Get like 80% right and you get an A. Easy A if you know simple POL vocab.
His class might be a little slow but its really easy if you read his notes and keep up with the things he writes during lectures. Everything he says will be on the test is on the test and everything he says wont be on the test is not on the test so he basically prepares you from day one.
If you are taking POL 1101, you should take his class. The homework is mostly reading the textbook and matching it with his notes. He will review the chapters by going over quizzes in class. There are two exams, midterm and final. He also gives a lot of extra credit on the exams!
He talks very slow during meetings so be prepared to stay awake or take notes. You can find the textbook for free online and read on your own because you will need to teach yourself most things. His tests have 50+ mc questions and a few short response mostly asking to define and apply political terms. Read his summary chapter notes.
very boring class. hard not to fall asleep. but he is nice though.
If you have a really long attention span, don't get bored easily, are an excellent writer, and arent afraid of multiple 10 pages essays, Professor DeMaio is for you. Youll learn a lot in his class and will feel very accomplished. Contrary to popular belief, the new edition of his textbook isn't found online, so it will set you back 30-40$
Professor Demaio was amazing. however, he assigns a lot of reading material from the new Hertzke "Religion and Politics in America" 6th edition book. Luckily, I am selling the PDF of this book for 5$. Email me at jjackson2685 at gmail dot com with "Hertzke Textbook" in the subject line. Cheers
Well, POL1011 is super straightforward. Make sure you're muted bc he'll get annoyed and possibly call your name out. Graded by two exams (midterm and final). No quizzes are graded, although he uploads past quizzes for PRACTICE. Textbook can be pirated. The docx materials on BB are helpful for preparing the exam, so use them.
Graded by a midterm and final with built in extra credit. I didn't attend classes but kept up with the reading and reviewed his notes for the exam. Easy A if you are disciplined.
100% take him. super easy class online. legit a free class
Professor DeMamaio is an understanding and kind guy. He wants you to succeed and isn't looking to put you in a tough spot. Achieving an A grade is highly manageable in his class. The only drawback is that he can be somewhat disorganized when it comes to materials and content. However, his leniency and generous grading compensate for this!
Took this professor for 1101 & 3008. His lectures are long but attendance wasn't mandatory. There were lots of materials to read in addition to the text, but you can get by skimming them. Only a midterm and final and he is a very generous grader.
best professor very easy to get an a just a midterm and a final all multiple choices and all of them are easy pay attention to his class and do the quizzes you will be fine.
Midterm: 1 paper, 1 identification list (8 words/phrases he will ask in a word doc and you define them, no time limit, you can legit send them in the next morning in an email and he'll take it). Final: 10 identification items and 2 pics that he will go over a million times in class, I never showed up and got an A-, very doable class.
Good class
Easy A, great professor. take him trust me
He is a really chill teacher, but his audio over Zoom was sometimes unclear. However, this class should be an easy A
2 tests so much extra credit so easy easiest a ever went to 5 classes
This class is a breeze with lots of extra credit. Just keep up with the readings and review the professor's notes - they're super helpful for the exams. Unstuck AI makes prepping a cinch too!
pretty nice and explains. he has his notes as the textbook so DON'T BUY TEXTBOOK.
V knowledgeable and caring professor; a very interesting subject, with lots of reading but the professor provides notes and additional materials that are very helpful for exams. Two exams with multiple choices and short answers. If you are disciplined and organized class should be easy.
He's a chill dude. He can talk a lot. This was a online class, and for the most part I didn't attend the classes. No homework, or any other work. Everything is based off of the 2 exams that you take which are also online. Do well on the 2 exams and you're good. Doesn't take attendance either.
Graded on two exams and that's it. Very easy to get an A in his class, even without extra credit. Got 100 on both finals and never attended class. Very nice guy, but old and not that great with technology so TA grades everything (very leniently). Take for an easy elective or lib arts cr.
He's okay for electives, but for POL 4999, he is a heavy grader on the presentation. Pop Quizzes to make sure we follow along with the lecture. Attendance is mandatory.
He if great to talk too. He responds to emails. The only issue is the amount of work he gives.
I wouldn't recommend Professor Gerald Demaio. The class is loaded with pop quizzes and it's tough to keep up. Quizzes are assigned ahead of time so you're always scrambling and can't study strategically. Exams use LockDown Browser with cameras on. I wish I hadn't taken it.
Easy A, you're just graded on 2 exams and that's all. It's 35 multiple choice and 6 short answer questions in 3-4 sentences. Make sure to use AI detector to confirm ur response for short answers if it's written by human before moving on and u should be good.
