I just had this professor for history 6 and I was genuinely intrigued with his lectures. His lectures are him just talking so it can be a bit tedious to stay focused. It also requires a lot of reading. However he gives extra credit quizzes that allows notes and that help with your test scores. His grading is also very lenient compared to others.

The other ratings are too harsh. During class it is all lectures, but as long as you take notes you will be fine. The entire class is based on 3 tests, but he gives so much extra credit you could have 15-20 points before even starting the test. He is very knowledgeable on his subject matter and has a very dry, but funny sense of humor.

His lectures are not built for gen z, people with ADHD, visual learners. Easy to get distracted in this class, and hard to take notes because he talks quickly from one thing to another. Only grades the EXAMS or POP QUIZZES for extra credit. Avoid this class at all costs. No slides in lectures, just talks and mentions xtra fun facts

The professor was very unclear about grading and did not post grades on Canvas. The grading scale was very confusing as well. The lectures had almost nothing to do with the content of the tests. Lectures were very difficult to get through. I do not recommend.

If you are a visual learner this professor is not for you! All he does is stand up in front of the class and talk for almost two hours and you have to be able to grab the information he's talking about and write it down. No canvas in this class, No PowerPoints, Discussions, or Assignments. Nothing at all. The entire class is based on 3 tests.

Professor Forlenza is very lecture heavy. He lectures out loud without the use of slides and only writes a few things on the board making it difficult to take good notes. Your grade is based on ONLY EXAMS AND POP QUIZZES, no homework at all (just reading the book on your own). If you have test anxiety, stay away from this class.

Grade is based solely on exams and extra credit quizzes. Lectures consist of just him talking and occasionally writing words on the board. He gives a list of topics that will be on the exam, your job is just to read and study each topic using the book. No homework, doesn't use canvas or power point/worksheets. You'll need to put in the work.

Prof Forlenza's lectures can be tough to follow, but if you stay engaged and utilize resources like the textbook and Unstuck ai, you can succeed. His tests are challenging but fair if you put in the work. Overall, a manageable class with the right study habits.

Read book or else you will fail. You will not be given any material to study. This class is 99% self study and even with the book it is very difficult to navigate through key information that you will need to study for the tests. The pop quizzes might be your saving grace if you at least pass the final. Please stay away from this class.

Forlenza is great and gets way too much hate from lazy people who don't know how college works. I have had him for HIS 6, 7, and 11 and if you're a history major, he actually cares about his subject and is entertaining in his lectures. If you just need to pass for gen ed reqs, then there isn't an easier and less stressful class you could take.

His lectures are interesting and are very fun to hear. That's about it on enjoyment though. His lecture are very story like so it is very difficult to grasp what he's talking about in the very factual tests. You WILL have to study by the book and it will be confusing at times to know where the information is. Would not take his class again.
