pretty simple and straight forward ,classes are in semi circle..midterm, final and one presentation, plus weekly h.w assignments which are doable, overall pretty good class even though it was on boring side.

professor gissinger cares about his students, and tries to accomodate them. there is alot of work required, 2 papers, one presentation and writing homework every work. however this can be an advantage to the student because the work and particiaption is most of the percentage of the grade.

I think that "Introduction to Disabilities" is a great class especially because it prepares students to teach in the field of Special Education as well as it prepares for CST Disabilities exam. The content of the class is extremely useful and material delivery displayed thoroughly. I wish the overhead projection could be combined with the lecture.

Extremely fair professor-- grading, listens to comments and complaints, respects his students' opinions. The reading was hefty, and homework assignment with each one was a lot. But on top of that, there weren't many BIG research papers or tests. HOWEVER, lectures are a bit disorganized and could be better if textbook was more relevant to lectures.

I took SpEd 602 BA Introduction to Teaching Students with Disabilities with Professor Gissinger. I truly enjoyed the class and learned so much. Right after the class was over, I took CST exam and passed it from the first attempt. I highly recommend taking SpEd 601 BA with Professor Gissinger.

Professor Gissinger is fabulous. He is clear with his expectations and provides rubrics to guide you in your work. As long as you follow the syllabus instructions you will be successful in his course.

I took this class online due to covid. There are group projects. Homework is due every week. Follw the syllabus and you will be great. Professor goes strictly by the rubric when grading. Show up to class and do the work you will recieve a good grade.

Gissinger this semester: Would demand cameras to be on at all times if stepping away would count it towards attendance, no breaks till end of semester, when calling him to ask a question he was arrogant and sarcastic, and graded harshly. He gave us great info but was careless in the midst of a pandemic. Based on convos others felt this way as well.

He is a wonderful educator, but more importantly he is a wonderful person. He cares about his students and takes time to help them. He is accessible to his students outside of class. He does give multiple readings per week (5 or 6 is usual), but you shouldn't be too worried about them. I highly recommend taking his classes as he is kind & wise.

Professor G is great at giving feedback on module responses. There is a lot of group work (abt. 3 group presentations/semester) in both his EDPN620 & EDSN600 classes. The rubrics are laid out for you. Getting full credit is as easy as following the guidelines. He is also available outside of class (phone call preferred). Definitely take his class!

There is a lot of reading involved in this class and weekly journals to complete. In my opinion, he can be a tough grader. I wanted to take him for another course because I like his teaching styles but the weekly journals can be discouraging.

This is my third time taking Professor Gissinger which already tells you how much I enjoy taking him. There is a weekly journal response that has to be done just like any online course that comes from the readings. I love that we work in groups and present the material its like we teach each other and end with a fun activity like kahoot. take him!!

I do encourage everyone to take his class it will definitely expand your Knowledge in regards to the different topics. I have nothing but positive things to say about this professor. Would def take his class again

Professor Gerald Gissinger is the best! He gives students the confidence they need to learn. Took his course 2xs in the same semester. I learned so much. Cameras must be ON, which I respect. (It's a Masters Program) so NO you cant be in the supermarket. 10/10. He is highly knowledgeable and effective in his teachings. If you want to learn take him.
