He'll put you to sleep. Otherwise, he is easy-going and a really nice guy. Easiest course on Earth. Anyone can get an A from him. Take this course to boost your GPA.

Good course. I learned a lot, and I'm a better writer too. You have to keep up with the work, though -- lots of small assignments.

Horne is a great teacher. He cares about the students. I learned a lot about business writing. I also got to be much more comfortable about doing oral presentations.

This is not an easy class, but you'll learn a lot. Jerry Horne is a wonderful teacher. He explains everything clearly.

I learned a lot in this class. He shows you how to make writing easier and clearer. There are many small assignments and in-class exams, but it is easy to get a good mark if you keep up with the work. I recommend this class!!!!

You learn some very practical strategies for writing business reports. Horne is a good teacher because he really seems to care about this stuff. I'd recommend the class for just about everyone.

he is such a cool guy if you attend the class and listen him carefully and do your homework. you will get good grades. i think this is the best teacher i everhave and i like attending his class. if you want to get good marks and want to increase your GPA take him. he is a cooooooooooooooool guy.

This is a great class. My writing and presentation skills improved immensely. Jerry is a really caring teacher, and he make the material interesting. I would take another class from him.

Very dull class. don't buy the textbook, because you will never use it. He seldom marks anyone over 75%, because that would be above the UBC average. easy class, but tough marker. Final assignment is long and boring. If he likes you, you'll probably get a better mark.

He's super organized and very clear about what is expected. I know my writing is improving because of this class. The assignments are real world, not academic. I'll recommend the class. The people who don't like him are the ones who don't do the work.

Jerry is a great teacher. He knows his stuff and he is always available to help. He even gives his home phone number so you can talk on the weekend. I had to take communication, but I would gladly take this class even if I didn't have to because I learned a lot of useful tips for the real world.

This is a very useful class, and Jerry really cares about making it relevant for the real world. I'd recommend the class to anyone taking business, or anybody else. My writing is 300 percent better because of the class.

There isn't much to learn in this class, but there's lots of exercises to help you learn. After taking it I feel completely confident writing business memos and reports. The teacher is good and so is the textbook. I'm going to recommend this class.

This isn't like other classes. The material is straighforward, even easy, but you get lots of practice and the assignments make sense for anyone going to work in an office or if you're going into business. Jerry is really helpful and tries to make it interesting.

There's lots of assignments, but most of them are fast to do, except for the proposal, which takes several weeks. Overall the work load is easy to handle if you are organized. The teacher knows his stuff and is very helpful.

This is not like most classes. There isn't much new to learn, but there is a lot of writing practice in class, and assignments almost every week. What's good about it is you get good notes and advice on your writing. The instructor tries to make the class interesting with current events and case studies.

This was one of the best classes. I should have taken it first, because it teaches a good method for producing good writing reports. I recommend the course, and also the instructor. Jerry has good experiences and is a great teacher.

Don't expect an easy A. The marking is tough, but you learn a lot. Gerry tries to make it interesting -- not an easy job for a teacher. He's really helpful and even lets you phone him at home.

Easy class. He's a good guy. The class is usually very short. I found the material pretty boring, but learning how to write memos can't be expected to be very interesting. We ended up watching Office Space in class. Highly recommended.

It seems like an easy subject, but you have to think about what you're doing. The strategy part is confusing, but there are a lot of examples on the excellent website and in the text. (The text isn't really needed because everything is explained in class anyway.)

I thought it would be a boring subject, but it's really what business is all about. What we did in class was really useful. Jerry's an understanding guy and if you ask him he'll give you lots of help. He gives you time to start your assignment in class.

It's a valuable class and Horne is always willing to help his students. His website is super and he always explains things with good powerpoints. I learned alot in the class.

The teacher is a bit of a geek, but he's fair. I'll recommend the class. Lots of small assignments at the start. No final.

He is a good professor. I took the class because it was required, but I learned alot about writing for work. I did a resume in the class and used it to get a job.

Gerry was a great prof. I found the classes to be a bit boring at times, but everything I learnt was useful. His quizes are online and can be done at home as open-book, and there is no final exam- only a project.

Mr. Horne was a good teacher. You could tell he cared about the work you submitted, and if you made a point of listening to his pointers and tips on how to write well, then he would mark well. if you slack off and dont attend then no reason your marks drop. He is just one of those teachers that marks bsed on what HE teaches you and not the textbook

Gerald Horne is not too bad like most people describe him. He's pretty easy. I admit the textbook is useless but you need it to do the online chapter quizzes. Everything is open book including midterms, finals, quizzes. He allows to give you extra time if you need it for any assignment doesnt matter what your excuse is. He wants his students 2 pass

Gerald is very helpful and allows extra time to comeplete any task even if it was given in the first week of class he lets you finish it till the last day of class with no marks taken off. Textbook is useful only for online assignments and quizzes. Finals, quizes, midterms are all open book. He even lets you take the midterm home to complete it

Gerald is a pretty good instructor. He is straight to the point, emphasizes on materials that he deems is important for students to know, and does not require getting the textbook. Although he is subjective when it comes to marking, he does provide comments which allowed me to improve my writing.

Gerald is such an easy prof, just follow his criteria and you can get a good mark in his class

Gerald is a very good professor. Although there are many assignments and writing tasks you have to prepare, it is worth spending time because from the feedback and comment the professor gives to you you learn a lot. His moodle is very organized and rich of resources which provide many useful tools for writing for business communication.

I have him for online class. He responds to emails immediately, and gives descriptive and helpful feedback. Expect to do a lot of written assignments and projects, though.

Gerald is one of the best prof at Kwantlen I have ever met. Very inspiring and provides useful feedback on assignments. Course material is also very helpful to real life situations. Definitely would take him again if he offer other courses.

Nice teacher , He really pays attention to your effort. So you gotta really do your homework. However, he is easy on the marks. Highly recommend.
