Only take him if you want to be VERY INTERESTED in a class!! He is an awesome story teller and I never had such a funny professor. His tests are very fair and he'll go over anything with you at any time! Good man.

On the top of my "FUNNY PROFESSOR" list, just sad that he is not teaching BL&S 112, he turns a law class which the material is boring, dry and difficult for me, into something fun and enjoyable~ Definite take his class, is worth getting up 8:30

AWESOME!!!! professor at Bing. He knows his material and presents it to the students so well that you just want to stay awake in his class and wake up to go to his class at 8:30am. He's funny and teaches well that if you pay attention, easy A!

Take this class! It made staying awake in an 8:30 easy. Easy to understand, helpful, uses great examples in class, very reasonable tests, and a really nice guy. Best prof I've had here by far!

Took his summer class, got an A, obviously - everyone does. This guy is so easy. Class is a joke. Just go to class, listen to his stories (some law related) and laugh like crazy. He gives no work and does no work. He does not care what you do - easy, easy, easy A.

Loy is NOT an asian man. Class is very easy, although, he doesnt "give out A's" like others have said.

This is such a great class. It is intellectually stimulating, and you really get to learn new things about law. Loy is very responsive to questions, and gives the opposite of monotonous lectures. He tells stories and examples to hit the points home. Not to mention, he is one of the best dressed males on campus. Espeically his shoes.

Loy is an amazing professor and an incredible person. Not to mention an easy grader. There's no need to buy the book or even study if you come to class. I took this class at 8:30 and I never fell asleep. If you have the chance to take his class please do. He makes law, a pretty dry subject interesting.

Take Loy, whatever you do. He is an awesome teacher. Extremely helpful and extremely easy. Hands out A's like candy. Need to go to class and do NOT buy the book. Test consist of in-class essays and take home exams. Love him!

Awesome teacher. Don't buy the $150 textbook... it's a waste! Tests are easy and are usually take home. He makes understanding law concepts a lot easier with hypos and real life examples. Take Loy for BLS 111; forget the other teachers. If his class is full, petition it or wait until next semester.

All right, I'll admit one thing, this class is pretty much a joke. I thought Prof. Loy was very cocky and arrogant, I did not like his teaching style and I didn't like how he interacted with his students. All though his class was easy, there's all ways a trade off. I think that's all right....I wouldn't go as far as saying that he's awesome.

This clss was really good. It was easy and you hardly have to do any work but you actually end up learning alot too! He made what can be a dry subject very interesting, had no problem concentrating during every class and i had it at 8:30

How can you say Loy is not a Binghamton caliber prof? Are you kidding me? Is it because unlike the rest of the professors he actually cares about his students and teaches the material in a clear and thought-provoking manner. Loy doesn't make the material harder than it really is. Take this class. You will learn a lot and do well if you want to.

Soo easy and he's a great teacher

Gerald Loy is so knowledgeable, confident, and able to connect with students that he puts the computer screen on its head immediately after entering class. Brings B-Law to life with his funny hypos, explains things lively and incredibly well, tests mostly take-home. I can't imagine taking this class with any other teacher. Just take good notes.

DO NOT buy textbook-trust me. Rediculously easy. Don't have to go to class-don't really have to do anyway. First test was half take home--2nd and 3rd were entirely take home. Easy grader. Really nice guy. If in SOM, only take BLaw with him..dont let anyone confince you otherwise and don't worry about it being early cause u dont have to go anyway

Professor Loy is an outstanding educator. His teaching methods are a bit unorthodox but extremely effective.

Funny, energetic, clear and helpful. Attendance is suggested but not mandatory. Going once a week is fine. One of the best professors. Makes everything interesting and easy. Doesn't use the book at all, teaches everything himself. Book is nice for looking up material if you skip class. Students decide most test format. Half in class, half take home

class is easy because he makes it easy with his incredible teaching style. I have never learned so much in a semester from a single professor. don't buy the book, just show up to class and absorb the info. there are 3 tests and some minor assignments, that's it. best prof at bing, i guarantee it.

Any professor that can make you laugh hysterically at 8:30 in the morning is a great professor if you ask me. Most of the tests are open notes or take home. You will be really amazed with how much information you retain and how well you know the material. LOVE HIM<3

I love Loy! You don't need a textbook, and there is rarely homework. We had 1 in-class and 2 take-home tests. Even if you get a bad grade on a test, go to office hours and he will let you redo that section and get a better grade. Because you don't use a book, go to class and listen. He is hilarious! I hardly ever missed his class and it was at 8:30

Impressions, sarcasm, and just plain good old humor... all packed in this awesome professor who manages to make "fun" and "business law" belong in the same sentence. Don't take a summer course for BLS. Take this guy, and you'll come out with a great grade as well.

Only take BLS with Loy; you pretty much never have to do any work outside of class while the other classes are complaining. we had one very simple assignment ever. He takes attendance (sign-ins)but I suspect he doesn't actually use it to grade.

Taking this class with loy was the best decision of my life, he's a funny and caring man who turns a dry topic into an hour of laughs and good times. Some times got carried away with jokes and took too long to get back to the topic at hand, but that's hardly a negative. Don't need the textbook just make sure you go to class and you'll get an A.

Professor Loy is the best! I took his class online and in person. He gives lessons from the book but his classes do not require much reading. His lessons are taught at a pace that works for the class. Whatever you learn in class is what you will use to write papers and take tests. Take good notes! They are important for the tests and papers.

Loy is the man. If you take any other teacher for BLS111 you are stupid. This is the lightest workload i have ever had for a class, and I still learned more than I do in most classes for the few classes I chose to attend. Automatic A, great lecturer. Such a interesting, worthwhile class.

I can't imagine a class easier than BLS 111 with Loy. Easy A if you go to lecture and somewhat pay attention. The tests are all open notebook, and two of them are take-home. He also goes over a lot of examples in the weeks leading up to an exam, which are really helpful. Definitely get into this class if you can!

THE STATS ABOVE DONT LIE!! Part 1 of tests are in class and OPEN NOTE. And part 2 is a TAKE HOME. EASY CLASS. Lectures are very important to pay attention in. But don't worry he will make it fun for ya!!!

Professor Loy's lecture is very straightforward. There are three exams and one of them is take home. All exams are open note. Go to his class and take proper note. I am not a native student therefore it is little challenging for me. Understanding how to apply the law on the hypo is important.

Quite simply, Loy is the best. He makes incredibly boring material hilarious, and his tests are all open note. He's also a super cool guy and is easy to talk to. Definitely watch for openings and try to take Business Law with him.

I cannot stress how this man is such a GEM!!! Granted though I took this class online in the summer, but we were graded on 3 things. Homeworks, discussions, and one paper. He offered extra credit too as an optional paper. Take this guy he is a blessing. Lot of writing but still easy A

Super easy course, took it online and all work was due at the end of the semester. Not a terrible amount of work each module had an assignment, and discussion. There is one 10-page paper due toward the end of the semester, but other than that super easy A. Would def take again, and take this prof again

Easily the best professor I have ever had. I thought the course was extremely interesting as well. The entire class was just made up of assignments that we had the whole semester to do. I finished everything by early November and was able to just focus on my other classes. I loved the class and honestly everyone should take this class if possible.

Very easy class with simple coursework. Fair amount of writing required, but it's nothing too difficult. Prof provides many ways to contact to him outside of class, but I found it unnecessary given the simplicity of the work. To emphasize, there are no exams and no lectures or discussions whatsoever. Could not recommend enough.

I took his online class this semester and he was very easy to get a hold of. I had just taken another class which was notoriously hard to get in contact with and whenever I would try with Professor Loy he would respond almost immediately, Good grader a good professor, and a good person who makes time for students. Hope to take him again.

Grade is based on a few discussions, chapter assignments, and a final research paper. I only started working on the coursework a month before the end of the semester, and I managed to finish everything within 2 weeks. I ended up getting 100s on every assignment and I got each grade back the following day, highly recommend taking the online class!
