Wow, I can't tell you how much I appreciated Professor O'Brien. He truly seems to enjoy what he is doing. I still have to take another science class and wish he would teach more classes, I would take him again in a second. he is really energetic about earth science. i took the class at 930, which I usually hate but he made it so interesting. skim the textbooks, he does use it for quizzes. take good notes. he is very straightforward. make sure your cell ringers are off!! very knowledgable. im leaving with a greater understanding then i expected!

He has great stories and relates the class to what is going on today. Take notes, I didn't even hardly read the book and missed only 5 questions the whole semester because he is so good at explaining the material. Definetely Recommended!

Great professor! Loves what he teaches and is good at it. Easy A! I got a B only because I didnt study the notes that pretty much answer every question on the tests. On all the other tests I aced just by listening to him lecture. He even drops your lowest test grade! Humorous and enjoyable! Highly recommended.

Professor O'Brien is amazing! His class is very easy and he explains everything! His notes are to the point just make sure you study them! 90% of tests and quizzes are on notes! mr. o'brien is an AWESOME teacher by far...his notes are always powerpoint, he always explains the notes clearly. not strict. no homework...just read the chapters but if you read the chap summaries you will be fine (not mandatory). quiz's are soooo easy. he is the nicest teacher too. i would recommend him to anyone!!!

Proff.O'Brien is very nice. All notes are on power point and are easy to understand. Professor O'Brien is a great professor. He tells a lot of corny jokes but he makes the class fun. I loved going to class each week. There is a quiz every other week and two midterms that if you do not study for you will be big SOL.The mid term is mad easy, just like quizzes.

Professor O'Brien is officially my favorite since starting at PBCC last spring semester! He takes current events in the scientific world and relates them to the classroom. I honestly thought this was going to be a boring class but I was soooo wrong! Definately take him for a science class! You will be suprised at how interesting rock science can be

Very nice man, and pretty easy class. I took him for earth science and got an A. Take notes every class, study them for the quizes and then study the quizes for the tests. Very simple. As long as you study there's no way you can fail his class. He's always telling goofy little jokes too, so it's not a boring class.

I loved Prof. O'Brien's class!I'm not a science fan and he makes it so easy to learn.He does PowerPoints on everything & allows you to take notes;you take quizzes every 2 weeks which are easy.He does ask that you read the chapters but looking over the vocab is good enough.As long as you show up,take notes & just participate you'll do fine.

He's very knowledgeable about science. You'll learn a lot in his class. But, do not let you belifs be shaken by his teachings. We're in thing world but not of it. You'll take notes in his class. He'll let you know what gonna be on the quizes, and if you study, you'll do good in his class.

If you are willing to learn you will learn a lot and it will be a very fun class, but if you are doing this as a requirement , just give the seat to somebody really interested. BTW I got an A.

Quizzes,midterm easy. study your notes and write down everything he said in class because they will show up in your midterm and final exams. Best science teacher might take him again for geology.

Prof O'brien loves the material he teaches. He is extremely clear in his lectures, you don't really need the book if you take good notes. no homework, 4-5 quizzes, a midterm, and a final. I took him for earth science and descriptive geology, got A's in both, and he inspired me to study geology as my major. if you like science take his class!

He was a very opinionated and judgmental teacher. While I did learn a lot from the class, he made a lot of the not so cultured & not so bright students feel dumb and stupid. He made his thoughts very clear about how he felt when the class didn't know an answer. I would only recommend him if your good in science and are thick skinned.

I took Prof. O'Brien's Earth Science class and it's an easy A. Just pay attention and the quizzes are cake. Attendance is mandatory and sometimes counts as quiz grades. He is a really sweet guy and he makes corny little jokes that make the class less of a snoozefest.

One of the best teachers I've ever had! Super easy. Only two tests and a couple quizzes. No papers at all. Rarely used the textbook. Really funny and makes sound effects while teaching. Can sometimes get off topic but knows what he' talking about. I would definately recommend you take him.

Good teacher, made an otherwise boring subject more interesting. Lectures are not hard to follow, tells you EXACTLY what will be on his quizzes/tests. Does do attendance checks (2), so GO TO CLASS! Does expect you to read the chapters, but supplements them well with powerpoints in class. If you need to fulfill a req, take him, he's easy enough.

Whether you like Earth Science or not..you will definitely learn something once you finish his course. Having the book helps. His quizzes and tests are mainly from his lectures and a few questions from what you should've read. He answers any questions in class. You can also tell he's passionate about the subject. I HIGHLY recommend him.

Seriously a class worth taking!! Science was never a strong suit for me but I learned so much in his class and it was easy! I took him for a 6 week summer class and it was great. A+!!! Lectures are interesting. He's hilarious. If you're sensitive and/or religious, his class may offend you as he doesn't walk on eggshells for anyone, but I loved it!!

This class is super easy! Attendance is not mandatory however he does do two attendance checks one before the midterm and one after and both count for extra credit if you are present. He is a great professor who is very passionate about science. He will answer any questions the students have. Very funny professor, I would take him again if I could.

EASIEST Science class ever! He is funny, awesome, and simple. Show up, pay attention to the spoon-fed notes and answers, and you'll pass. All tests and quizzes are short, multiple choice, with very few fill in the blank. Does NOT try to trick you, easy questions. I hated Earth science, but once I took him, it was EASY! Take him!

O'brien is a great professor! He gives 1 or 2 attendance checks worth a quiz grade so you definitely don't want to skip his class. He gives clear quizzes and tests, no surprises there. The greatest professor i've ever experienced. He actually lit a flame of interest for science in me that I didn't know existed. You learn so much great stuff. Remember, the earth is always trying to kill you, and global warming is REAL! It's caused by what? CO2! haha I wish he taught every class.

Science has always been my worst subject and never really intrigued me until I took this professor. He makes the class interesting and explains every concept in an easy-to-understand manner. He gives quiet a few quizzes that are easy if you attended class. Everything is pretty much multiple choice. It was super easy to get a good grade if you studied even a little. I looked forward to every one of this man's classes. His lectures are great and really informative and he is also a pretty funny guy. His only grades are a few quizzes, the mid-term, and the final. Obrien was a cool teacher, knew about his stuuf and was passionate for it. If you study notes and pay attention and study some chapter outlines you will be ok. The test are the midterms. You will learn and it will be a good class to keep you awake!

Prof. O'Brien is great. His class was interesting, and you learn a lot of things you should know about how the world works. It isn't a lot of commitment and you only have to read the chapters if you want 100% on each quiz. He is passionate about science, and his lectures can be really entertaining. He also encourages you to rent the textbook.

This professor was the best professor Ive taken at palm beach state! He never gave homework, quizzes were 10-15 questions, 2 big test( mid term & final). He made this subject interesting & exciting. I wish he tought more classes at PBSC. Hes the best!! I would take him over anyone! Ps dont go on your phone or he will call you out :)
