Prof. Padilla is by far the best professor I've ever had!If you're not open minded, or get offended by other student's opinions easily, don't bother taking the class. Padilla encourages all discussions and is an excellent teacher, I don't think I've ever learned so much about myself from a professor.

Padilla is an awesome person, very funny and keeps the class entertaining. However, if you HATE talking in front of the class, this class is not for you. He is not a bad teacher but his classes are super boring and super off topic. My friend made a list of how many things he said in one 3 hr class period that had NOTHING to do with the class. That list was longer than the "notes" he expects you to take. Easy A but good luck suffering through his boring and weird lectures . . .

I took Padilla for Native American History and I can honestly say I have learned nothing after 11 weeks. His teaching method is completely unstructured; he prefers to talk about his kids , former students, ect. He gives vague instructions on essays and grades students down for things they were not informed they had to do. Overall, a D- teacher.

Padilla is an awesome teacher, loves his students. He assigns books to read. The books are interesting if you have the time to read them all. He will quiz on maybe two of them (ten questions max) and have you write personal essays on the others. He is very raw, all we talk about is race, religion, and some history of the U.S. VERY INTERESTING.

Teachers don't get any better than him. He is honest and upfront of what he expects in his class. Lots of literature reading, but is intended to learn the concepts he is teaching. Tests were less than a handful, with no daily homework other than essays on some of the readings. Note taking is recommended, in order to understand the concepts as well.
