He is a funny man, but his test are pretty hard.

Excellent at explaining economics. Able to predict the stock market very accurately! Tests are easy if you come to class and do the homework. Fun class. BEST TEACHER TO TAKE ECON WITH.

the first test is so easy and the last 2 are hard. you get 3 exams throught the semester. if you don't like your grade you can opt to take that final which will replace your lowest grade

By far the easiest intro business class anybody can take. Exams are ridiculously easy. The Prof is quite the enthusiastic character. TAKE THE CLASS!

excellent teacher, thoroughly explains everything, gives the benefit of the doubt on tests, is not out to kill you on tests and makes them so you can explain yourself and if you don't feel the grader understood what you were saying you can explain yourself and hand it back in for regrade

First 8am class that i actually showed up for. He had to have been doing something right.

THis is a class everyone should try to take. If you don't like your grade on your tests, he'll re-grade it, and usually your grade will go up.

He was very clear, and he related economics to your life. It was really interesting, and I would definitely recommend Swanson over any other econ professor.

I was a Preceptor for Swanson and I can tell you he loves what he does and he is always willing to help students in any way he can. He is a wonderful teacher and a great man. The is no better teacher for Econ 200 at U of A.

He is more then helpful with anything you might need as long as you will put in the effort to see him and ask questions.

Swanson is a great econ professor. He makes the class interesting and teaches the concepts well. He has a couple funny stories, too. The tests are pretty easy if you pay attention in class.

I'm a Pharmacy major and I was required to take Econ 200 as an undergrad. gen-ed. I'm usually not very interested in 'business' but this class was one of the most interesting classes I have ever taken in my entire life. Period. Very knowledgeable professor. If you can get into Swanson's class (as it fills up VERY quickly), take it!

Great teacher! One of my favorite sine I have been at the university. He is just an all around cool guy and tells crazy stories all class that finally relate to what the subject is going over. The class might not be that interesting but he grabs your attention with stories. Utilize office hours too b/c he's just a really cool guy :)

swanson is a nice guy & funny! he is a good teacher.. however, the only thing that bugs me is that he doesn't type the notes on a powerpoint which is hard for me but cuz u have to write quickly whatever comes out of his mouth. and i end up getting 70% of what he is saying. i GROed econ with stegeman (so funny) but he had his notes online!

This was my favorite course of my entire college career. Great professor, funny and interesting. Attendance isn't mandatory, but it's definitely worth your time to go to class. Show up take notes and you'll do well on the tests.

Amazing professor! Amazing class! By far my favorite at Arizona so far. The textbook isn't necessary but it is very useful if economics doesn't come easy to you. If you have the chance to take the class, I highly recommend you do. Attendance isn't necessary but the class is usually packed because he is a great professor.

So far, the best professor I have had at the University of Arizona. His class makes me want to major in Economics even more now. He presents the information in a very understandable way. Go to class every day, take notes, DO NOT read the book (it's pointless) and you will get either an A or B.

Hard to get in his class but once you are its totally worth it. Just make sure you take good notes and study his old tests and you will get an A. Super interesting and makes class fun. Go to campus tutoring reviews before tests and you will do great. He is a great teacher

I love Professor Swanson and applied to be a Preceptor for his class next year even though I'm not even an econ major. I got a 98% in the class but i studied very hard for them. Took the 8am and barely missed it because he made class worth while! I love him, he is so full of knowledge. Take his class

Prof Swanson is an awesome teacher. He made a good impression from the beginning of the year. Forced to take this at 8am when I would get off work at 1 am, got a B with little reading or studying. Makes the class enjoyable and interesting and offers EC for answering questions in class. Very willing to help you out.

Dr. Swanson is an amazing teacher, he teaches with enthusiasm and passion. Econ 200 is a common sense class. If you are little bit smart you will get an A in his class take my word for it. I am not that smart and I pulled an A. Take his class trust me.

Swanson is a classy individual. I found differences between test grading styles of those that attended the economics society review session and those that did not.

Amazing teacher! He's funny and makes material interesting. Attending class=VITAL, missing a lecture is like going a day w/out food. You get more out of class then the book, but the book does help. Go to Seung's discussion section. He's the best. :) Oh, I loved that everyday he would tie things happening in the world w/lectures. Made it relevant.

Gerald Swanson is an Economics God. He will try to convert you, so do not be afraid to believe and give him a chance. I, along with probably 20% of the class, am now going to major in ECON. He is that good. If you're looking for an easy Gen Ed, I'd say keep looking, if you want to learn from a gifted lecturer and person, you've found your man. A+++

Best teacher at the UofA. Definitely worth the 8 am class. 3 exams and thats it, no homework, no pop quizzes, no online homework compared to other instructors. Just take notes and go to the ESUA reviews and you'll get an A in this class.

Yes, professor Swanson is an incredible teacher. However, it's not quite as easy a class as others make it sound. The material is very confusing, and a background in economics is extremely helpful. An A is possible, but it is certainly not easy. Complete understanding of the material is necessary for an A on the test.

Okay so you have 3 tests, and optional final (worth 40% if taken). He offers bonus points if anyone answers a ? in class worth 1 point each. He really loves econ and makes it easy to learn. He does the overhead thing so take notes, and if you understand whats going on, you WILL get an A. However the tests = all write in short answer questions

By far the easiest and most interesting of all the econ 200 teachers. If you go to class, study for the tests, and attend the optional discussion classes with the TA you WILL GET AN A. If you dont go to class and dont study you will fail. Tip: Sit up front he gives out +1 bonus % for the test every day. Study old tests (he reuses them)

Absolutely adore this man. Before taking his class I had no interest in the subject but had to take it for some reason for my environmental science major. So glad I am taking this class- he applies all the concepts to real life scenarios and you can really tell he loves what he does. oh, and go to the econ student review sessions, they really help

He is very funny, loves to tell stories and he makes economics seem very simple. He loves his job, and all of his lectures are worth going to because he relates everything to real life scenarios. As a long as you study and go to class you will do well in this class.

He's definitely the best choice for this. The tests are all pretty easy if you study. He doesn't try to trick you, and he uses econ in a way that isn't obnoxious. He teaches you about real life. He's a funny dude and pretty attractive for an old man. He's a bit old-fashioned in that he uses an overhead, so no notes are available online.

He was one of the greatest professor I have had. His lecture was relaxing and interesting. His tests were no tricky at all. What helpful was he regrade your tests so you will get pretty much points back from those reasonable short answers. Take a good advantage of his office hours and review sessions. It is not hard to get an "A."

Easy class with no attendance requirement. I wasn't interested in Econ at all, so probably only take it if you're interested/doing Eller pre-reqs. Online homeworks were difficult, but tests were easy if you went to tutoring/review sessions.
