Had for Physics I and II. Very helpful, and genuinely cares about his students. Highly recommended.
Great teacher, at times a little nervous, but truely cares
He was a great teacher. He trys really hard and is really helpful.
Funny teacher. Willing to accomdate and help students any which way he can...he takes a hard subject and tries to make it east. Overrall good teacher.
Had for Physics I and Physics II. Really great professor...explains subject matter logically and really lectures on what is the important stuff in the text. He covered all areas that are tested on the MCAT.
Dr Woods is my favorite prof!!!! He really does care for us. He makes sure we know what we need to know for his exams. He trys his best to get us involved in class. I dont know what more you can ask for in a prof. Just study what he wants u to.
great professor who truly tries to help his students and has a personality too. somestimes, his explainations can be a bit fuzzy, but he'll go over it numerous times until its much clearer. highly recommended.
Goes above and beyond to teach the subject. Highly recommended
An amazing teacher who made me love physics. A student cannot ask for a more dedicated teacher. It is nice to finally have a professor who cares as much about his students as he does about his research. Just a wonderful person!!!
Amazing professor. Very helpful and cares about his students. Just do better than the T score, and u will get a good grade. The class is tough, but if u do the hw problems he assigns, and understand the concepts; rereading them, ull be fine.
If you can get into his class, take him! His classs tends to fill up fast and he only teaches way early in the morning, but he's worth every minute of it.
Excellent Teacher! He really does care about teaching and your understanding. He goes out of his way for you to 'get' it and is a great mentor. Very clear. Uses examples and lecturing to get his point accross. Didn't need the book except to work problems he made it that understandable. Even if you hate physics he'll get you through it with a smile.
Very easy class if you pay attention in class (it really helps b/c most of his exam's concept questions come from it). Do his HW problems! Go to his office hours, it helps. Although, he likes solving problems his way. So I see no point in taking the Problem Solving course because their way of teaching you stuff will just confuse you even more.
Greatest professor ever!! Makes a dry subject like Physics more interesting and enjoyable. Very entertaining lectures. Covers the basics and doesnt try to trick you. Really wants you to learn. Do the homework-skip the problem solving class since he solves problems his way and it can just get you confused if your math is weak. HIGHLY suggested!!
ok.. be prepared to study for this class. It is definitly not easy. Woods is the best professor to take it with though, he trys his hardest to make you understand but u have to have read the chapter before he goes over it if u want to understand. He has a big curve on test though and wants his students to do well.
He's an extraordinary teacher! I would recommend him to anybody. He goes out of his way to make sure that you understand the material and he interacts with the students instead of dronning on and on. He gives great reviews as well as curves & makes himself available as much as possible. If you get the opportunity, join his class quick!
He is a nice guy but he is a difficult teacher. Just b/c physics comes easy to him he thinks it comes easy to everyone. It is a difficult course no matter who teaches it and he does use a nice curve when he grades so I recommend him.
He is a good teacher. He expects a lot from his students. If he has explained it he expects you to understand it and if you do not understand something he is availiable. Or he suggests going to the help desk for further help.
BEST Prof I've ever had. Will spend hours helping if you need it. His tests are very fair, just know your concepts well.He does give extra credit and has a very fair curve. If anyone says anything bad about this professor, they didnt try, and dont listen. It is obvious that they were lazy and didnt make an honest attempt in learning the material.
As said in previous ratings, you must put in the work to pass his class. Seems to be rather unorganized, and sometimes doesn't show to his office hours. Personally, I didn't enjoy his class but if you have a penchant for Physics this guy's for you.
Doesn't take attendance so U dont have to attend class. Study from the book for phy 1. Relatively Easy Exams. If you screw up, there is a good curve. And Bonus points.
easy class, no need to go to class, read over the chapters. easy tests and he gives bonuses, just make sure to go the problem solving class.
wants you to pass.
Great teacher and very helpful. Class is not necessarily easy you do have to study and do work but Woods makes it as easy as possible and will work with you.
VERY UNORGANIZED and not very helpful. He does not post the grades promptly and is very frustrating... He is the worst science prof I had. His lecture is such a pointless. I will not recommend anyone to take his class if you really want to do well in physics.
Best physics teacher in the dept. He really want you to pass and he will help you if u have questions. He CURVES everything so you're an idiot if you fail his class
He's a nice guy and very willing to help, but he's very unorganized and his lectures are confusing because he jumps from one thing to another. His tests can be hard because he tends to pull things from nowhere. He does try to warn you ahead of time, sometimes. Good thing is that he drops a test and curves a lot.
woods is a wonderful person, and he does want you to pass, but he doesn't teach very well. Although Rabson is hard I learned more from him and he did a bigger curve. i took woods for phys2 because he was recommended, but really i would have done better with Rabson
The subject alone is hard so, everyone going to say he can not teach. But to tell the truth if you do not have him as a physics teacher you going to hate the subject. Yeah he is scattered but he trys his best to teach you and if you have questions just raise your hands and he will go over the problems with you all over. He is your only chance.
Woods tries very much to get you to appreciate the subject. His efforts to keep the subject from becomming to boring are commendable. I like him alot!
Dr. Woods is the best teacher I have ever had. He goes above and beyond to help every student understand physics to the best of their ability. If you are a pre-med student, Dr. Woods pays special attention to material that is represented on the MCAT.
Woods is a great guy, lectures a bit scattered and confusing because he barks up the wrong tree to see if your listening (bark up the wrong tree AFTER you develop a concept, not during) My only problem with Woods is that his exams are worded wierd. Even his TA's think so. This can cost points in the end. take someone else.
Great Teacher. Makes his class as bearable as it can be for those of you who aren't natural physicists.
Dr. Woods is a crazy man, very sarcastic and loves to converse with himself. Anyways, he was easier than other physics professors, although he was off the wall. Generous curver, but pay attention to class discussions as test questions usually pop up even though they seem ridiculous. Not bad at all, but not an easy A either.
very helpful, goes above and beyond to offer extra hours to explain anything that isn't clear. He is a little crazy but he makes lectures more interesting. He gets very excited and can be a little too fast going over the material, but other than that he's very good!
Professor Woods is a great teacher, but physics can be hard in general. He is always available to help outside of class.
Woods is an awesome teacher and cool guy that wants the class to pass AND understand what he's teaching. Many references to MCAT. Uses lots of gestures and curves well. Take him!!!
Dr Woods is the best teacher I have encountered. His class is entertaining and you truly never know what to expect. Aside from class he dedicates so many hours to outside help that more professor's should follow his path. Dr Woods is passionate, caring, and truly makes you feel like you can succeed in his class. In sum, THE BEST!
Awesome professor! Very dedicated and always tried to make himself available if you needed him. He was always excited about any subject we went over and made it more interesting. Definitely a hard subject but he is the one to take it with. Such a nice professor. Help desk sessions are extremely helpful.
Pretty much an all around perfect teacher. The only thing I could say that is in any way negative is that he curves his tests a little too much. (there was a test I got an 83% on and the curve made it near an A+) If you don't like physics you will be the time you leave as long as you show up for class. He IS VERY VERY ENERGETIC!
Lectures seemed to be largely pointless. Went on way too many tangents completely unrelated to the material we were covering and jumped around a lot. 3-4 questions every test made very little sense but fortunately he did give generous curves. Great person but just seems to be too disorganized in his lectures
AWESOME teacher, very caring and energetic. You will get your money's worth for taking this class. The lectures are a bit disorganized, but he gives alot of practice problems so there shouldnt be any misunderstandings, open help sessions/office hrs. If you dont do the practice you wont pass.. Huge curves on every test. Strongly recommended!!!
The first time I took physics I couldn't stay awake and did horrible on the exams, so I ended up dropping the course. This time I took the course wtih Woods and not only did he keep me awake, but I passed the course and I actually learned something.
REALLY awesome guy!! Very energetic and amusing in class. It's tough to be bored in his class. The material is tricky, I never really felt I truly understood it, but his tests are fairly predictable and I was always in the A-B range after the curve. Physics w/ calc is tough, but it is very possible to do well in his class.
Speaks English with an AMERICAN accent so hard to find in an Engineering Department course. So easy to understand if you don't mind the slight rambling. Pretty much gives you the exam with the practice exams. Basically listen to him and download the practice exams and do them YOU WILL PASS!!!!!
Dr. Woods is extremely helpful during his office hours and review sessions, he will do anything he can to help you understand the material. The only thing is that he is very energetic during lecture and sometimes rambles too much and can confuse you, but if you go to his office hours he'll help you out.
Great instructor, really cares about his students, will bend over backwards to help them understand physics. Tests are more than fair, just download the practice exams and go over them before the test. He lets you drop the lowest of 4 tests, including the final, which I did. I would definitely take a class with him again!!
Dr. woods is amazing, always very helpful, he makes sure you understand everything. I hated physics but i dont anymore.. i still remember most of the stuff i learned. Highly recommended
This guy is great. Take his class!!!
Dr. Woods is probably the nicest professor at USF Tampa. He taught a difficult subject very well. I really enjoyed his lectures. There are 4 tests and he lets you drop your lowest test score. His tests were fair and straightforward. If you pay attention in class, you'll do fine. I ended up with a T-score over 2 and an A+ in the class.
Dr. Woods is an exceptional professor. I would recommend him to any taking PHY 1 or 2. He is extremely helpful and entertaining. At times, he tends to get off subject but he gets right back. I didn't like the idea of taking the course, but it all changed after the first day. At the end of the course, I left with a great appreciation for Physics.
Pretty good professor, organized. Take notes and attend his private meetings. The homework helps for the test, so make sure you complete it everytime. Other than that, prepare yourself for a lot of studying.
He is a really fun teacher. He's very smart and has a lot of enthusiasm for physics. He lets your make your own formula sheets. The homework he assigns doesn't correspond well to his tests though. You're allowed to drop a test.
Dr. Woods is one of the nicest, most sincere professors I've ever met. He cares so much about his students and he LOVES physics. He goes out of his way to give everything he can to his students. He gives practice exams and his office hours are so generous. He's funny, passionate and helpful. Dr. Woods is the best. What a great person he is!
Words cannot describe what kind of person Dr. Woods is. I have never met a professor more caring, kind and helpful than he is. His personality is fantastic, teaching style wonderful and tests are super fair. He gives practice exams and goes way, way beyond the call of duty with his study sessions to help his students. He is USF's best. Take him.
Lets just put it this way... I hate Physics, but I love this class. I don't know how he does it, but he makes physics fun. He is super helpful and wants all his students to succeed no matter what is takes. Dr. Woods is the best!!!
Great teacher! His classes are not mandatory; however, he really does benefit those who come to class-so you should go if you enroll in his class. Make physics extremely interesting and is funny to listen to. Very helpful and makes a commitment to make sure his students succeed. Would definitely not take physics with anyone else!

Gosh this guy is incredible! He makes the points crystal clear, makes sure the students understand it before he goes on. He gives tons of his own time in office hours which are more like private study sessions. He makes physics so fun & interesting. Generous curves. Take Dr. Woods and no one else! He is first class!
He is tremendous! Super nice guy and knows his stuff inside & out. He really helps out his students and is funny as hell in class. He makes it fun. Trust almost every review on here, take Dr. Woods, he's an awesome guy.
Class grade consists of 4 tests, a final. make sure you do good on the first test becuase it only gets harder. and ALWAYS attend his office hours!!! study the chapter conceptual questions! that will be the majority of the test.and make sure you attend class before the tests.
GREAT professor! He is THE most dedicated professor I have ever had the honor of taking. He will do anything he can to help you pass the class. If you are afraid of Physics, take him, he will make it as easy as it can be.
Dr. Woods is amazing; he cares so much about his students, i didnt have to take the final, and i still went to class. Go to this "help desk", study from the book and the practice quizzes, i learned so much; he even has extra sessions for MCAT preparation. The highest score in my MCAT was physics (i took both phy 2053 and 2054 with him)
I love having Professor Woods as a Physics professor. When I first started physics I was scared because everyone says it's hard. But Prof Woods loves this subject so much that you can't help but love it too. He's really energetic about physics and does his best to get you to understand and love the subject too. Definitely recommend him.
He is a decent professor. The test are based solely on the book, so showing up to class is almost pointless. He does offer extra credit which helps tremendously. I would definitely advise anyone to take him if you're interested in getting an A. Make sure you complete the homework problems and understand the concepts he goes over in class.
Dr Woods is a very good professor. I absolutely despised physics in high school, but he explains things very well. He is very passionate about physics and genuinely wants you to do well in his class. I highly recommend him.
overall a great professor wo is very enthusiastic. Study the practice exams that he gives. Very easy professor and lets you use a cheat sheet on the exams.
Dr. Woods is a great professor. He really cares about students doing well in his course and sets aside ample office hours to help. His explanations are easy to understand and enthusiastic. I highly recommend taking Dr. Woods whenever possible.
Physics is not my subject, but he makes it clear. His class is entertaining. He is very helpful. Tests are straightforward, and he lets you use a cheat-sheet. THE BEST PHYSICS PROFESSOR!
Hated this class, but maybe it's just me...All he did was write equations on the board, no actual examples. And your grade comprises of only 4 tests and a little extra credit. Great guy though.
I will admit to not regularly attending class, but every time I did Dr. Woods was very helpful, and he is always enthusiastic and amusing. I suggest studying the book, doing the extra credit work, and making a very good cheat sheet for the exams. He is also very approachable and has an open office policy for his students. Very good prof overall.
Nice guy, but rarely does examples on the board. Likes to derive equations and yell when he gets excited. His tests were decently easy, grades with a t-score and gives extra creidt. Also lets you have a cheat sheet with anything you want on it, take advantage of it.
He is a very fair teacher. He tells you specifically all of the topics that will be on the test and bases the test off of the lecture, so come to class and take good notes. He doesn't do many examples in class because there isn't enough time. Gives lots of extra credit. Textbook isn't used in class and isn't really necessary.
He is the best professor to have for physics.
Best ever!
you hate physics. you never understood physics. you can't stand taking a physics lecture 3 times a week. TAKE HIM AND EVERYTHING WILL CHANGE. he is the best professor at USF, if you don't get A in this class, then excuse me, its all your fault.
Physics is not one of my strong subjects. I took 2053 with a different instructor and struggled quite a bit. Dr. Woods is very helpful, he is very knowledgable and really does want you to do well in his class and understand the material. One of the best instructors I have had at USF.
Great Professor and the best instructor in the physics department that I have met yet. Take him because his test are very fair, and not tricky.
He is a nice guy and he is helpful HOWEVER the curve is generous say if you are failing. If the average grade was a 66% he makes sure to cure that to a C...but there is NO FINAL CURVE. Don't reley on the curve, do well in advance. Tests are ok if you study hard, but they do get harder as you go along.
Dropped his class today. I've carried a 3.7 gpa through Organic Chemistry I and II and Cell Biology. I made a 20% on his first exam. He does not give partial credit. This class is not worth the stress. Take it with someone else.
Be patient; the first test is always the hardest. Practice the sheets he gives you and you'll do fine. Attendance is a MUST because he tells you all you need to know--forget the book. Will answer every question. Physics is a difficult subject, people, but I've yet to meet a better professor if you meet him halfway. Be responsible and practice.
Its funny how some students complain. I go by his office, I ask him questions, and he answered every one with total clarity. I go from making an F on test 1 to an A- on test 2. Qiut crying and take responsibility!
As I rated Dr. Woods I could not help but notice that a few students below rated him for PHY 2048. He does not even teach that. These students are bitter and confused.
Professor Woods is awesome, a lot of the ratings that are bad will be from the beginning of the semester bc his first test is doozy, but DONT DROP THE CLASS, the other tests are pretty easy and he lets u use a formula sheet. Again all the complaining about not being able to finish test is only from the first weed out the slackers test.
Actually, he's teaching 2048 in spring. So, you're all wrong. Next, if you are willing to practice on your own, then you will do fine. There are tons of help online and for practice. Woods is prone to hissy fits, poor emotional control and outright hilarity. Take him for fun, but brush up on your algebra and be ready to teach yourself. As is most.
Don't do it! I had heard and read so many good reviews before taking his class and they just were not true. Unless you are willing to teach yourself physics do not take this class. I had to drop it (my first class I've ever dropped) because I couldn't learn from this guy.
Professor Woods is a nice guy. At times he seems scattered and my experience is some students learn better from his teaching than others. First exam was absolutely absurd and he admitted it was unfair. However, one exam out of 4 is dropped. The last 3 were not nearly as bad. He does want his students to learn the material.
His class always involved interacting with his students. I actually started to enjoy answering his questions (which he always bugged us with but it was a challenge). He is certainly not boring and only his first test is hard. If you get an A, you earned it however. Teaches concepts better than any other professor out there.
Really interesting personality which makes the class entertaining. Attendance not mandatory but EXTREMELY helpful. Make sure to write down the equations he puts on the board in class as they reflect exactly what's on the test, making the book mainly used for practice problems and not reading.
Dr. Woods really wants his students to do well, but I don't think he understands that he is teaching intro physics. If you study a lot on your own and do the practice tests multiple times you will do very well. Like the other students said the first test is hard and the others are pretty easy. Buying the book is a waste because it won't use it.
Dr. Woods is extremely passionate about physics and he just wants you to get really motivated and answer questions if he asks any. He is really helpful and he will work with you 100%. I really enjoyed him as a teacher and he makes physics so much more easier and interesting!
Good professor and conveys the information well. I took physics with Criss and did horrible, I then took it with Woods and I've been doing great on my exams. Also if you wanna get under his skin, just ask him what the class average is immediately after an exam :)
professor woods is the best professor i have had at usf so far. he teaches the material well and gives lots of example problems. his tests can be tricky but everything on them has been seen in the lectures. if you dont like anwsering questions loud in front of the whole class try to sit in the front row directly in the middle :p
Woods is one of the best teachers I've had in college. He cares about students, prepares you very well for exams, and offers plenty of practice problems for extra credit or test prep. He goes above and beyond what he has to, and my only complaint was that he wasn't teaching Physics 2 when I was taking it! Highly recommended.
I recommend reading the book along with taking thorough lecture notes. If you don't, you miss things which you either will be tested on or will need in future courses. The book also fills in any gaps from lecture. Also, attend his pretest review sessions. If you do, you should have no problem aceing the exams.
he is a nice teacher.A lot of extra credits points and great review session for the test, highly recommended
Nice professor, pretty approachable. He's a little wacky but it's refreshing for a field filled with dryness. Tests had a few curve balls, but were all relatively simple. Obviously reading will help with the lectures but you can kind of get by with just practicing problems. Derivations he does are pretty clear. No HW or quizzes. Recommended.
This class is fairly easy. All test question came from a multiple choice test bank (hint) except that one written exam. The teacher explains things very clearly but can ramble sometimes. Very approachable professor.
He doesn't exactly have what you call the "social skills". Avoid speaking to him. Criss is better.
great lectures, but I would avoid speaking to him one on one as he is extremely rude
Easy class. pay attention and do the practice exams and you will be fine.
Prof Woods is a little out there. His teaching of concepts is adequate, but the problems hit home. There is online HW for a cushion on the t-score grading, which at times is unfair, but other than that only 4 exams. All algebra based problems, but be prepared to think and study!
I think his lectures are outstanding. Better than most dribble I have seen in my science classes. But his odd tendancies make him sometimes difficult to speak with. Overall, lectures and class were top notch!
Great teacher. Gives out practice problems before tests. Go to class and pay attention, and do the practice problems a few times. You can drop the final. Go to the book for any additional help but honestly I hardly used it. No reason you shouldn't get an A.
Woods is a horrible teacher. I would advise not to take him. His lectures make no sense and the t-score is an unfair way to curve. Doesn't use powerpoints and doesn't seem like he's ever actually prepared to teach. He goes in to lecture and wings it. Do not take him.
Honestly, all he does is derive equations on the board and ramble on about things that just do not connect together. he left the class confused by the end of the lectures. you have to teach yourself from the book in order to pass.
Not a bad class, but the tests are hard and Dr. Woods is boring. He is a very nice man and tries to spark interest, but the class is boring and dry no matter what.
Tests are very hard and the class is graded based on a t-score. He does give chances for extra credit. Make sure you go to class and do the practice problems.
His teaching style is not the best. He tends to ramble, and doesn't really do any problems during his lectures. Most of the class consists of him deriving equations on the board without even explaining. He's also like 15 minutes late to class every day. He doesn't curve the tests either. Do not take this class with him!
After 2053 in the spring, I thought physics was at the bottom of my wish list for summer. Dr. Woods helped me understand what physics is all about and showed me countless times how problems are worked. GO TO HIS OFFICE!! He really helps those who help themselves! I have a B+ as of now and actually enjoy class!
Good Prof! Was a little tough on our last test but the key things he wanted us to know stuck out in the end. Curves at semester's end. Gives practice exams that help.
Very helpful professor. Scary at first but overall the fairest of any professor I have had at USF. Take good notes and prepare from his review.
Offers practice exams and says they are very much similar to the real ones, but they are NOT verbatim. You need to know the concepts and equations, though he allows a cheat sheet. Offer extra credit and a curve. Not too hard a class overall. I got a B with almost no effort.
The best professor at USF. He is very awkward, but it works for him. Explains concepts very well. Gives prac exams that are sort of similar to exams (although he claims they are exactly the same). Seems like he's honestly there to help students, but won't accept laziness. I had him for physics 1 and requested he teach physics 2, best idea ever!
One of the best USF has to offer. He really cares about the success of his students. There is not mandatory hw, he gives practice exams that are extremely helpful. Knows how to teach in class! Nice curve and no t score. He is able to assist students any time of the week. In, out, and during class. Just studied day or two before exam and got an A+
The only teacher I've encountered at USF that actually cares about his students. Lectures are not too helpful but his test are not hard and if you ever need help he is always there. Definitely recommend!
Attendance isn't mandatory but helps. I'd recommend using the book to write the all the equations and doing the examples in the book. Also do the hw he suggests. Practice tests he gives you help also but aren't exactly the same as tests. Front and back equation sheet allowed on test. Tests aren't that bad, many problems straight forward. Few hard.
Extremely HELPFUL. Puts a lot of effort into helping his students. Great guy who has your back along the way. Gives extra credit and is understandable about deadlines. Exams a bit difficult. I'd recommend him to a friend.
He truly cares about his students. Show effort, go to class, and he will go out of his way to make sure you do well. I had him when he taught in class. Heard he now does video lectures and then class is all problem solving. Real nice guy though a little out there.
Ugh, all Woods does in class is mumble. I couldn't understand a word that came out of his mouth, but his tests were fairly simple, so those basically balanced each other out and I ended up with a B+. He's the most unorganized professor I've had at USF. Definitely not taking him for physics 2. Switch professors if you can.
If your like me you will not understand a damn thing he talks about. I never went to class because it was pointless. All I did was work the practice problems and that prepared me for the test.
Extremely helpful! He is one of the few professors I have had that records his lectures. This helped me review everything. Went from physics 1 with a B- (did not record lectures) to an A (started recording in Spring)!!!
He needs to make power point presentations and stop with freestyle writing that no cryptographer can decipher. It was very hard to follow his confusing lectures. Sometimes I wondered if I was studying the correct chapter. His scribbled notes are so hard to follow! He doesn't post grades !! You will wonder about your grade for weeks !!!
Great professor! If you are taking physics at USF take with Woods. Tests are straightforward and relatively easy. He is also very helpful and approachable. Def taking him for Physics 2. Curves every exam. Drops lowest. Very easy to get a good grade. I recommend him.
Very good professor! Lud and clear about what he is tryin to get acrossed. 5 tests and you can drop one (final included) curves final grade not just testsand offers extra credit sometimes. I would eccomend him and im glad i get to take him during physics 2.
One of the few professors that actually cares about his students grades, he will do everything in his power to try and get you an A. He post all in class notes online, and every test has a take home portion. If you study the notes and read the book then it would be impossible to fail. Great professor would definitely recommend him to a friend.
Loved this guy! Somehow pulled off an A even though I was convinced I would fail going into it. Takes real initiative in helping his students, with relatively straightforward tests. Just practice, get help if you're confused, and you'll do fine.
Professor Woods is by far the most helpful professor I have had at USF. He is going out of his way to provide us with all the information for our exams. Every time I see him to discuss problems I have, he is very kind and patient. Totally recommend!!
Dr. Woods was an awesome professor. I took him for 2053 and 2054. If you go to class it makes things easier to understand. Read the book, it helped me a ton on anything that was no clear in class. Visit him after hours if you need help. He is understanding and always available!
The class can be difficult for non-math people but he reduces the material greatly and is clear about what will be on tests. His lectures and notes can be confusing but is is helpful and cares about students and often gives chances for extra points. He can seem intimidating in class but he's actually a really nice guy.
great professor! for tests check email for topics, do web assign, he gives a lot of extra credit for it even if you only do one. exams are plug and chug, if you know how to use equations and use a calculator you'll do fine. math skills are minimally needed, besides some algebra and rearranging of equations. Go to class, pay attention and get an A!
No need to get textbook his online notes are sufficient along with in class lecture. Prac test he posts will help a lot with exams, do them! tutors can help well with prac test and web assign. GO TO CLASS! he gives class bonuses for those present, and easy in class problems you can get extra cred for. class goes by quick, and he's easy to listen to.
Great teacher. I absolutely detest physics but he increased my interest for it and wasn't too bad. Physics is my worst subject and I was able to get a passing grade with him since he explained everything so well in his notes and during lecture. Very very nice.
AMAZING PROFESSOR! Explains concepts VERY well. Tests are easy and he provides a TON of practice problems. You don't even need to take notes in his class because he writes them for you and posts them online. He teaches a problem solving class if you need extra help. TAKE HIM!
AMAZING PROFESSOR!! Teaches a great class. Attendance isn't mandatory, but you should go to score points! Comes in handy at the end of the semester!!! Explains topics very well and posts all notes taken in class. Tests are not difficult if you prepare properly. Very fun class! Great professor! Must take!
this class was not as bad as i thought it was gong to be, woods is very helpful and grades fairly as long as people come to class, definitely take his class
Although I attended every single class, the lectures did not help as I do not believe he teaches well. However, the class is very easy to pass. Practice exams are almost exactly like the exam given in class.
I went to every class but the lectures weren't that helpful. Exams are really easy if you do the problems he assigns before hand. And he's super nice and cares about his students. I felt like I was back in high school! lol
Horrible instructor. Doesn't know how to answer questions, very rude and doesn't teach. He assumes you already know everything, so he just presents the material, doesn't show how to use a formula. I really don't understand all the positive reviews. Claims no book is needed, and his notes are really bad. Stay away unless you want to teach yourself.
Lectures are not extremely helpful, but will keep you on track (I never missed a class). Lectures will clarify confusion from notes, but overall test your skills by doing the practice tests. They will show where you need work and are similar to the exam. Get the formulas from the notes and apply them. Very fair professor. Take him w/ a tough load.
I took Woods Fall 2013 semester. I struggle with Physics but as long you do his practice tests and attend help sessions (if needed) you will do great. He is VERY helpful and gives you many opportunities to boost your grade like bonus points, extra credit, and drops lowest test. AND he's hilarious. Take him!
Dr. Woods is cool. He's funny and very nice. He can be boring when he teaches and some things are not relevant but he is your best choice at USF. He wants his students to do well and as long as you do what you are supposed to you'll do fine in his class!
Best possible professor anyone can ask for at USF. His skill at teaching Physics in unmatched. He is one of the few professors who will bend over backwards to help his students succeed with the concepts. He explains EVERYTHING. Gives take-home tests and LOVES it when students are engaged. Want to do well in his class? Be active. You won't regret it
He will go out of his way to help students learn the material. Expect to put in a decent amount of effort if you want to pull off a good grade. I've heard he is the best choice for algebra based physics at this school. Attendance not required but is helpful.
Really great professor, knows what he is teaching. His lectures are engaging and well paced. The grading is fair and as long as you put some effort and practice you should be fine.
Dr. Woods is a great professor who is always willing to help his students as much as he possibly can, so long as they are willing to meet him half way by working hard and proving themselves. Be sure to attend class as he'll often hint at what will be on the exam. Oh, and make sure to write down all of the formulas for the exam on your formula sheet
If you want an easy Physics A, take Woods. I really am not good at Physics (nor do I understand it) and I got an easy A. He always curves, gives take home exams or questions, and really makes it very easy for the student. I don't necessarily think he is the best professor, but if you want an A, take his class.
Awesome.
Cool guy, not so much a great teacher, but he does make the class easier than I thought it would be. Class is based off of 5 tests and one is dropped, and extra credit is through mastering physics. He gives take home portions of tests and lots of the answers are online. I got an A and skipped out on the final test. Very nice and funny guy.
Dr. Woods is the BEST professor ever! Dr. Woods is BEYOND EXCELLENT in every aspect. He is clear when it reaches to his course objectives & assignments and if he is not, he makes changes to be fair to all the students in his class. Dr. Woods makes himself available to assist his students at all times as he respected his students concerns.
I loved going to his Physics 1 and Physics 2 class every time I had class, I was interested in the material at all times due to Dr. Woods' great teaching. Dr. Woods possesses all the qualities within a great instructor. He is the BEST professor for Physics and I definitely recommend everyone to take Woods for Physics.
I rarely missed class, but it was really unhelpful for me because he taught concepts the majority of the time. He's a super nice guy and provides a lot of tools to help you pass. Gives take-home portions for the exams and practice tests so you know what the format is going to be; online hw was extra credit. Also does cool demonstrations in class.
Great teacher. Really cares about his students.
I took this class bc I heard Woods was the easier of the two choices I had. This class was incredibly difficult for me and I'm still not sure why. I studied, did practice tests, and still have yet to get over a C wthe curve on a test. I was great at physics in hs and I get mostly A's now in college. I guess I just didn't like the structure. :
He usually curves test so its not that bad but im terrible at physics so its a BIG help. He assigns mastering physics as an extra credit option my advice get it and start it NOW because it boosts your grade from like C to C+ or C+ to a B- ect. you might think you wont need it but at the end of the semester you'll be rushing through it
I took this class with no previous knowledge of physics , failed one exam but made 3 A's and a C and ended up with an A- in the class. He is a little confusing and an aggressive "talker" but he is very nice. I would recommend talking him because of his extra credit . If you want to pass, practice problems from the book along with what he gives you.
Consists of 5 test, drop the lowest. Mastering physics is extra credit (13 of a letter grade). He does great presentations in class. If you go to class and take good notes you'll be fine. The problem solving class helps a lot.
Dr. Woods is amazing! He absolutely loves teaching and it shows. He is passionate about his students and always goes above and beyond to help. He does extra lecturesreview session before tests, and if you go it his office hours he will give your "hints" for the test. He is great. He gives extra credit and lectures aren't required! Would take again
Dr. Wood's class is half-online and half-in-class; in class he goes over problems within the concept his online videos covered. While attendance isn't mandatory, it really helps to go to class, so you know how to do the problems. He gives more than enough practice for his tests, in my opinion. Just practice doing problems and you'll pass.
Professor Woods is awesome! He truly does care for his students to pass his class. He's always giving extra credit, which helps a lot! Definitely take him for physics!!!!
Dr. Woods is one of those professors who stands out. He cares about his students and doesn't feel the need to make physics any tougher than it already is. Dr. Woods makes the course easy to comprehend and really, he can teach physics to anyone. 3 exams, optional final, weekly quizzes, optional homework. Lectures online, class time for problems.
I took Woods in Fall of 2014, and he wasn't great. He only worked problems in class and didn't ever teach. Awful. Because of schedules, I had to take his section this summer. He drastically improved his teaching style for the better! He works problems in class and online lectures. Also allows notes in exams. I would definitely take him again!
So professor woods isn't your average professor. He's quite hilarious and very nice. Classes aren't mandatory and all lectures are in video format on canvas. He'll accommodate you if necessary and the tests aren't too hard. Definitely take him for physics.
His class is set up as the lectures are on canvas and you go to class to practice problems. This seems like an efficient way to learn, but it's not. Lectures he posts make no sense and in class his steps and ways of thinking out a problem is confusing. I didn't like his teaching, but he gives generous curves on exams if class average is bad.
Expect to have everything online and to come into class for problem solving only. Attendance not required, open notes tests, curves, no book, and will break everything down. He basically saved my grade and life. if you want someone that cares and is worth the money, take him. Oh and get clutch prep too!
This guy is great. Took him for intermediate and advance lab. He is so enthusiastic about the class and it is contagious!!! He explains everything very clearly and wants you to learn something. He is one of my favorite physics professors.
Great physics professor. Took him online for physics lecture and really enjoyed the course. I am pretty technology savvy so taking the course and staying on top of the work was not a problem for me. Made an A in the course and learned a lot. Truly recommend!
Woods is an AMAZING Professor. Took Physics online and still managed to get an A. I am not great in math but going to his office hours really helped me. He explains everything! I've attended his classes and he's amazing in lecture as well as online. TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! He will make a difficult class seem easy when he explains the problems out.
Great professor, very helpful.
He made the class a hybrid class for the summer. He would post the lectures online and if you went to the meeting time, he would just do practice problems. But when u go to the meeting times he did a horrible job at explaining. Also would not answer my emails and expects u to go to office hours and if u cant go then u are pretty much on your own.
Dr. Woods expects you to think and work independently. If you prepare you will do well. His method really helps those who take MCAT. If you are not taking MCAT, maybe take someone else.
I was expecting so much out of this guy but he actually turned out to be a terrible professor. Tests 1 and 2 were manageable, but he made test 3 and the final almost impossible. He couldn't even answer problems off test 3. Also, he never fully explained how to solve problems in the lecture. However, the whole physics department is a wreck. Goodluck
I took Dr. Woods for Advanced and Intermediate Lab. He wants you to think for yourself and learn everything you can about the project you get assigned. As long as you show up and do your work, you'll pass with no problem.
I took Dr. Woods for Physics I and II, I will say for Physics I he was super easy, however for some reason Physics II was way harder, I think he may have changed the way he gives his exams. His exams are open note though, and it is very possible to get an A. He doesn't really lecture, just goes over problems in class. I would recommend.
Gerald woods seems like a nice guy but don't expect this to be easy! you can take as many notes as you want they don't really help on the tests! 5 tests on optional, Very little extra credit basically none in reality, no homework, just tests and quizzes, hates using the Microphone so good luck hearing him.
Professor Woods is a nice professor, however he's very difficult to understand. His class is setup with lectures on canvas, and problem solving during in-person lecture. His tests are nothing like his practice exams, and his curve that he gave us was credit for ONE QUESTION. There are definitely easier methods of teaching physics compared to his.
So the Pros He's a nice guy Able to accomadate your schedule Can use notes on your test CONS * Tests aren't like Practice test * No extra Credit * Barely curves only by a couple points if that * Can't speak loud enough for the whole class to hear and he hates using the mic. * His lectures just are terrible overall
Woods is a terrible professor if you do not plan to major in Physics or something pertaining to Physics. I recently learned that he is using PhD terminology in his lectures leaving people confused. Practice tests are NOTHING like actual tests. No extra credit, and online lectures. Online lectures do not help at all with quizzes. SAVE YOUR MONEY!
DO NOT TAKE HIM. His teaching style and tests changed dramatically this semester. His class is next to impossible to get better than a B in now. No curves, no extra credit, study guides are nothing like the tests, and notes don't help because his lectures are horrible and very little of what he teaches is used on the tests.
Lectures were absolutely useless. He would often go off in tangents in person so we would never be able to learn the material or ask questions. Tests are extremely hard--it does not matter if it is open note. None of the material will overlap with your notes or practice tests. Please avoid at all costs.
The course is video based. Class time is spent working on 3 or 4 practice problems which he never fully solves and you will never see again. Practice tests and quizzes are nothing like the actual exams. The whole class consistently failed every exam even though they were open-note. Your grade is 16% quizzes (16) and 84% tests (4). Spare yourself.
Gerald Woods is the WORST professor I have ever had. He over-complicates things, has online "lecture" videos (If i wanted an online class, I would have taken one). He does not explain things easily at all. Practice tests are nothing compared to the actual tests. You are on your own. If you can teach yourself this terrible subject, he is for you.
He isn't the best teacher, so if you are new to physics you will definitely have to do some learning on your own. His lectures don't help all that much, but his videos are useful if you can focus and learn from them. His tests are all open notes which is AMAZING! So take great notes and write down EVERY formula you need and you'll be fine.
Very funny and passionate about the subject but, I did not learn one thing from his lectures
Literally, this man is the best professor I've had here at USF. He's super super down to earth, humorous, enjoyable and caring. He truly cares about the subject and has shown that consistently throughout the year by motivating students, holding more than enough office hour opportunities (HE EVEN HOLDS THEM ON SUNDAYS!). Put in the time, best prof.
Not easy but not impossible to do okay if you have 0 physics background: tests are open notes & curves when necessary albeit very little. Drops the lowest out of 5 tests including the final aka its optional. How I managed: khan academy & chegg. Practice tests and quizzes help ONLY if you try to understand the solutions bc he doesnt repeat ?'s.
Woods is a good professor regardless of the other reviews.. Some just may not like his teaching style. The best way to get the most from his lectures is to review the material beforehand. He posts video lectures for every section. Tests aren't bad, you just have to know the material, plus they're open book. Him and his TA have lots of office hours.
He is the only good professor for Physics I. Read the book and work the problems as you read it. His quizzes are a little bit similar to the real exam. His lectures are pointless and not descriptive, you will pass the class using the book. Do the practice exams. Stay on top of this class, don't fall behind.
He was honestly so terrible. I went to every class, every TA help session and every office hour and still got a D on the first test WITH the curve. I studied really hard and it never seemed to matter how many problems I did. His lectures are pointless he just derives equations. He's rude and isn't willing to work with you. Don't take him.
This person is the nicest professor and he really cares. He did help sessions on Sundays before exams even though he said his wife did not like it. I got an 82 on an exam and with the curve I got a 92. His grading scale is a bit more helpful than other teachers (an A in his class is a 92 while in other classes an A is a 93). Test are worth 80%.
Terrible professor! His exams are considerably hard even with open notes, sometimes incorporates Physics 2 material in physics 1!!!! There is a curve that saves just about everyone but his lectures are HORRIBLE, you will learn NOTHING.
After asking to meet 3 times during the semester, I face an unfair grade because of my TA's grading scale. Dr. Woods now wants me to do a make up lab (after the semester is over) for an excused absence after I was told we would have no make up labs this semester. He doesn't care about his policies or students and I will be filing a grievance.
Dr. Woods wasnt great. I took him in the summer & he set up the class so that lectures were online & he only went over math in class. His test questions were hardly like anything we've done in class, & his tests were open notes. I wouldnt have gotten an A if it wasnt for the curve on our last test since majority of the class did bad. Dont recommend
Online PHY2053L, gives no feedback, nor is there any communication with the professor. Takes way to long to grade things (which I assume is the T.A's fault and not his). Just no communication with him and it bothered me quite a bit. I would take him again for another lab class if I just wanted to pass the lab class and not learn anything really.
HORRIBLE the worst experience I have ever had at USF!!! Waited until the last day to input updated grades and my grade suffered horribly. IF YOU CAN DONT TAKE
I had Woods as a professor once courses switched over too remote. So I am not sure how he is with in person teaching, testing and or grading but I can say that he has been extremely flexible, he dropped our lowest exam grade and only let grades count that boost your overall grade, not many professors who would do that. I am very thankful!
Took him for summer lab, have never interacted with him before but his instruction videos are the most boring thing to sit through. I really can't stand his pattern of speech, it is impossible to focus on what he is saying, and you would think that he should have invested more time in delivering coherent videos. Okay class.
impossible to get in contact with him, especially now that everything is online
Seriously the worst college professor I've ever had. I'm a bio major & he is the WORST at teaching physics. Just because you have your PHD doesn't mean you're a good professor. He is IMPOSSIBLE to get into contact with which is funny because his class is online; Also if you ask him for help in class he just says "well I explained that in my videos"
This was a fully online summer class. Professor Woods wasn't that bad. You can learn the material with his videos. You are given second chances on the quizzes and unlimited tries on the homework. He only gave out 1% extra credit total (compared that to other reviews). You don't have much room for grade repair so if you do bad on an exam, Good Luck.
During class, he only reads through his powerpoints that have minimal information. He talks as if the students have the same knowledge as he has. One grade is for the homework and the rest is divided into 4 exams. Overall, doesn’t know how to teach, but his exams aren’t that complicated. The thing is you have to learn by yourself
The way Mr. Woods teaches demands every learner to be lightning fast and to dedicate practically their entire life to understand what he is talking about. When Mr. Woods teaches a new subject he always sounds as though he expected you to have read the entire chapter and understood it thoroughly beforehand even though he taught the thing 2 days ago.
Personally, I am not the best at physics and Gerald only made it more difficult. He is passionate about the topic, but also all over the place and unclear. His exams are online but he creates the questions so don't think it is easy to cheat. Also, homework and exams are the only grades and the exams are weighted HEAVILY.
I was surprised by his focus on individual questions after class or in office hours. Explains problems very well, which is important for physics. Makes sure you have a strong conceptual basis as long as you attend lectures. Attendance isn't mandatory, but you'll learn a lot more in class then from just the slides. HW is mastering physics.
Honestly probably the worst professor I have had in college. Worded a question on a test completely wrong where it looked like he was asking for something else and when he realized it he just said "oh yea I probably should have worded that better" and brushes it off.
He is a great professor who cares about students and takes in our opinions! He made a curve after all the exams ended and an additional exam so that we could drop one exam.
Professor woods is the best professor you can get for physics 1 and 2. The grade is 75% exams that are solely made based on homework, quizzes, and problem days. Pay attention to class, his lectures are amazing.
The TA that he uses for this class does a terrible job at explaining all of the labs, most of the time you are on your own for the whole class until you can ask him your question as he is helping all the other students with the same question. When he finally does answer you his answer is vague and confusing. I would not suggest taking this class
An extremely cool dude who is very passionate about physics education. Had him for all of my physics labs and can say that it was great. He was always open to provide advice or feedback about the labs, and often would go out of his way to help if the lab was difficult for some people. Genuinely cares about the students.
Awful lab. This professor never showed up nor had anything to do with the lab. Instead, he let TA to teach and grade the entire lab. Don't know why bother to list his name in the course. The worst thing is the lab grading has no rubric and it really depends on TA's mood that day so good luck. The lab manual focused on statistics more than physics.
I didnt get woods so my rating sint for him. I was taught by Charlie Ogg, one of his TAs. He was so clear with his explanations at the start of class (he looked around 35 so not some old guy) and was very clear with grading and stating what he wanted graded. Prelabs were 3 easy Qs and he is a very funny guy. No final exam. Attendance mandatory.
DO NOT TAKE THIS ONLINE LAB! Awful, the assignments are super complicated and unclear. They don't align with any of the stuff you're learning. The TAs themselves are usually confused too and are not clear. Dr. Woods posts five minute lectures explaining the lab assignment, except he doesn't explain anything, it's useless. Avoid at all costs.
Pretty helpful and nice, exams aren't too bad if you pay attention in class and do the homework.
Labs were short and often allowed us to finish before the allotted time. My TA Michael Adetunji was very nice and lenient with grading. No midterm or final for the course.
Dr Woods is a great professor for those who want to excel. I took physics 1 with Criss and got a B, but I had to retake it with Woods for GPA. I ended up taking physics 2 with him too, he is caring and really wants you to pass. No extra credits, but he will let everyone write another exam to recover grades and drop the lowest one.
Dr. Woods was a really good professor. He is very clear lecturer and provides opportunities to improve your grade. While his lectures are not mandatory, they are helpful for problem solving since exams are open note. Overall I think the course is very fair and Dr. Woods makes it so its possible to excel in his class.
Professor Woods is a very special professor because he actually cares. He was very excited about demos during class and wanted us to really understand the material, not just memorize. He gave great advice and was available outside of class. He thinks very highly of his students and they think highly of him.
Very difficult class to understand, so participation matters. Professor had unclear due dates, and communication around assignment information was vague. 75% weight in exams, but drops the lowest of 4. Make sure to view all material given, even if it seems optionally. He pulls a lot from his recorded lectures and problem solving sessions for exams.
This professor is sweet but he is a god-awful lecturer. He cannot keep a single sentence without saying 'um' or 'like'. His lectures were extremely confusing and not even necessary for the test hardly. His lab is much the same: confusing. If I could give advice to this professor, please get rid of your slides and do step-by-step problems.
The best physics professor at USF in my opinion. He drops the lowest HW and test grade. The lectures are very helpful and so was the TA. There is a decent amount of HW, however, it is very helpful for the preparation of tests. I plan on taking him for PHY 2049. (Way better than McCormick or Criss, TRUST ME)
Very difficult material to learn, so lots of time outside of class spent. Changed deadlines constantly, and wasn't accessible outside of class much. 75% of your grade comes from 4 exams, but lowest exam grade is dropped. Grading scale not established until the end of the semester, no curves/retakes
At the beginning of the year, the lab assistant told us it was required to buy the physical copy of the lab book he created despite us having the online version. It cost over 50 dollars, and we've used it only twice out of 10 meetings this year. Long story short: he ripped a bunch of college students off to make a profit.
Very easy lab. Should get an A as long as you go to the lab every week and do the labs. My TA was Rohin Sharma and he made it pretty easy, but spent 30-45 mins at the beginning of the lab lecturing and no one really payed attention or understood, so it wasn't useful imo. He also wasn't very helpful at times, but overall easy lab
Really gotta stay on top of work make sure you do stuff early as many of the homework assignments were due after the tests which really threw me off.
This rating is for the TA, not Woods. My TA was Prerna Sharma. She was very clear with what each lab was about and clearly knowledgeable. The difficulty of assignments was very reasonable and I ended up learning a lot about Physics in general. However, the lab manual was not used at all despite being "mandatory".
The class itself is pretty hard, but Wood's lectures didn't make a whole lot of sense (they would get very rambly, he would assume we knew topics we had never seen before, etc.) We had to buy the textbook but never used it. Open note tests, but no curves. Not really available for questions outside of class.
This class is a challenge, but the professor makes it manageable. Definitely do the homework - it really helps prepare for the exams. I found Unstuckstudy ai to be a game-changer for study prep too. Overall, a tough but rewarding course.
Gerald Woods is the reason for my A+, which was 97%. His exams are online and are very easy. His classes are hybrid and he records lectures too! Take him instead of Criss or Eggers. 100 times better.
Good class
He's not a bad professor but not great either. If you wanna get an amazing grade tho, definitely take him!
This is the worst professor I have ever met. I hate to say it, but this man is awful at his job. I didn't even sign up for his class. The professor I signed up for couldn't teach the course because of an illness unknown to the students. I found out I had this guy 1 week out from the start of the semester. He doesn't teach. DO NOT TAKE HIM!
Incredible professor, never seen a STEM professor care so deeply about the students and not overflooding you with information. Transparency is king and I would recommend this professor 10 times over for anyone taking physics 1.
Avoid if possible.
Terrible, made us do lectures for homework and used the time meant for lectures to solve only a couple practice problems. Had open note tests yet somehow got an F on both tests which had to make me withdraw. If studying hard and using notes on a test gets an F then there's definitely something wrong with the notes the professor is giving.
If you are able to, AVOID AT ALL COSTS. This is not a professor to take if you want to be taught something, you are teaching yourself the whole semester so be sure to schedule a tutor after every chapter is taught and become familiar with the textbook. He has outrageously wrong calculations for sigfigs and will not correct mistakes he made on tests
Im writing this review for my TA, Charles Ogg. He is the perfect example of want you want out of a TA, explanation for what he wants for the labs is clear, good at going over the concepts before every lab, and is willing to help students. If hes a TA for any lab I would have him again in a heart beat.
Reviews are deceiving
Believe the lowest reviews for this professor, especially if you are an average student who studies material and practices after each chapter. THIS IS NOT THE PROFESSOR TO TAKE IF YOU WANT TO LEARN ABOUT PHYSICS! The whole physics department fails at educating, but this is a professor who you cannot reach outside of class and cancels office hours.
The class was easy he uses a flipped classroom approach, so if that doesn't work for you don't take this class. He dropped the lowest test, but the grading scale is awful and he is impossible to reach outside of class. He told us that we should be lucky when was teaching us because it wasn't required... even though it's his job - just very arrogant
Do not take this professor unless you already have a solid understanding of physics. Lectures are only practices problems, and doesn't explain the algebra well. You have to basically teach yourself. Expects students to ask questions but verbaitam refuses to answer them if they are in the chat on teams. Do not take for first time physics students.
Just don't take him, he expects you to know every thing about physics before taking the class. And he doesn't teach at all he just reads practice problems and does them. He also the worst public speaker and is hard to comprehend at all times.
This professor is the worst Ive had so far and it is my senior year here. He is the worst public speaker ever and his lecture are incomprehensible. He also doesn't teach he just does practice problems and expects you to know all the basics to physics already.
As a senior who has gotten straight A's my entire college career, this class is awful. Grading scale is VERY test heavy (exams are weighted 84%). Added an exam to give us a drop, but each exam is only 20 questions so you can't afford to miss very many. I study for hours, rewatch lectures, and always go to class, but still struggle with his exams.
Whoever rated this professor good is not being honest! DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR I AM WARNING YOU!!! Extremely test heavy. Changes the grading policy randomly. DOES NOT TEACH AT ALL. If you don't know basic physics concepts going in be ready to fight for your life everyday!! Does not respond to email even if they're important. SPARE YOUR TEARS!!!
Cried almost every single night. Never been so confused in my life. I don't think he taught one thing this whole class. Don't even attend the lectures he just yells at you thinking it will make you understand what he hasn't taught!! I actually developed PTSD from this class.
Canvas is disorganized and had to self learn many concepts. The grading scale is A, A-, B, C, D, and F. This course weighs heavily on three exams (84%) and only a small amount on homework (16%). There were constant last-minute changes regarding the course such as emailing around midnight for updates the next morning.
hard to understand some things.
Very strict, not understanding whatsoever
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR IF U STRUGGLE WITH PHYSICS. Physics is already hard and this man offers little to no practice material throughtout the semester, on top of that he DOES NOT respond to emails. He also LIED that the last test was not going to be cumulative and it was now I have to retake this class and probably pay out of pocket for it
This man is not accessible outside class. Emails go unanswered. I got an A only by using outside resources since his weren't helpful and thought I would vouch for how others felt. He said the last exam would ONLY cover 2 topics, but it was CUMULATIVE. He also reportedly lowered someone's grade for asking for extra credit.
