Class is not too difficult she is definitely ridiculous when it comes to mistakes that she makes she is old and thinks people are always out to cheat she will not admit her mistakes there were 3 incidents when the server was down she would not take it claiming I could have did it in class i sit in the front I talked to her and she was dismissive

Her tests were impossible, she did not really clarify what was being taught and I really had a hard time learning from her.

It was an extremely hard class and her tests were extremely hard. It required tons of outside work to keep up with the class, especially the lab part. Working and studying in groups helped incredibly. I wouldn't reccomend taking vertebrate anatomy.

Dr. Seitchik is an amazing teacher with a wealth of knowledge. She expects that her students study hard and be prepared for her class. Her tests are fair in the sense that they test your true knowlege of the material. I would reccomend her to anyone.

For all those who can't hack it in Seitchik's class, I have to say she is one of the best teacher's I have ever had and I will be so ready for Med school thanks to her. As long as you do the work and study you do fine in her classes.

There is no need for her to teach b/c her lectures do not appear on the test. It would be an easier class if you read the textbook and saved 3 hours a week. Not particularly helpful and she is aloof.

i do not like this class and she is not a good teacher- im sorry but reading notes off of a projector doesnt cut it for me- she is boring and has impossible tests. i have already put in over 15 to 25 hours on her tests and have barely passed- PASS THIS

By Far the worst Bio teacher ever. Her teaching methods are sloppy and she is a perfect example of how the Biology department works. I passed her class with a C, and i studied for hours for her tests. She was the main reason i am now a Chemistry major!

if i study for an exam weeks in advance, do the readings, take notes and go to class i should be able to at LEAST PASS an exam... but not w/ her. her tests are rediculous and impossible, i still know the material but i bet i will never pass an exam.

Unlike some other posted advice here, I recommend you DO NOT read the text for the exams. I typed my notes for the 220 class and studied them, no more, no less, got an A-. Many don't like her, but she really is your greatest advocate for premed.

TAKE A TAPE RECORDER! That is the key to this course. Don't read the textbook! Record everything and just concentrate on that.

Had her for FYO....which by the way is a poor excuse of a 1st year program for students at La Salle. It's an ok class, make sure you make it there to keep the attendance points. Most of the stuff you do is quick and easy, trips are annoying.

Not the best teacher. Favored bio majors and let the rest of us fail. Not there for students at all, at least in this class. This class was a "weeder class"-hard enough to barely pass but easy enough for bio majors.

She was the worst teacher ever! She didn't care about her student's ability to understand her material whatsoever! I studied countless hours from the notes, text and online help and got no where! I ran screaming from Bio as my major because of this woman!

I had her for lab and I have to agree with one of the other ratings, she could care less whether you learn the information or not. She's always yelling like you are an idiot and she also had her favorites that she paid closer attention to. She is not warm and fuzzy at all!

I will probably be the only one posting a good review. I did the post-bac pre med program. I worked very hard in her class and in return she worked hard to teach me. I saw many freshman fail that did not belong in this rigorous class. The only one you have to blam for a bad grade is yourself. It is possible to get a 4.0 and I am proof of that.

the materials she gives out are very helpful, organized. Handouts are great! But, must read textbook as well... She's a good teacher. If you study hard, you'll pass with her tests easily. It's definitely NOT a difficult class... It IS possible to get an A from her... just don't make her mad!!!!!!!!!

Anyone can say what they want about her being a "helpful teacher" but she was definately not for me. I even asked her for extra help because I wasn't understanding certain material and she laughed in my face.... She abo****ely have favorites who she likes, and anyone else she could care less about.

Seitchik is a cold and callous person. She plays favorites and assists those who she deems worthy enough. The rest of us can do nothing but pray for the semester to be over with, when we get to have another Bio teacher that's just as terrible. What a lousy school. La Salle should invest all of the money that have for better quality teachers!!

What was stressed in class and on tests was NEVER the same. Relies on unreliable electronic clicker system. Very inaccessible after class/always seems too busy. Shows preferential treatment to small group of (mostly) pre-medical students. It is impossible to avoid her in this major, but I'd recommend avoiding her upper-level course at all costs!

Very fair. Do not expect to just sleep your way through class and do minimal work and get an A. Has two versions of tests, so if you flunk the first you work on what you need to and take it again. I'm not sure why everyone's saying she favors pre-med students, because she was polite with me and didn't even know what major I was yet.

she moves quick but she is well organized with PPT slides u can print before class and reformat it the way u want. This was good bc i was able to keep good organized notes. her tests are hard but i seriously think it's not her making it hard, its more about learning how to study for the subject. go to her test reviews and u'll learn some strategies

Seitchik hates students. She has concocted ways to avoid them at all costs. For example, she will often give a few extra points on her tests (riddled with typos and errors) so you don't come and bug her about grading. Her tests contain little from her lectures. She often talks too fast and forgets what she discusses from one section to another.

She is extremely misanthropic. In fact, and this is a sad and serious point, she seems to suffer from some sort of mental or personality problem. If you don't believe this, go and ask a student that has had her or even anyone in the science faculty. After a reactionary scowl upon hearing her name, they will agree.

She relies on these electronic clickers for her quizzes that are very inefficient. In fact, she made my section retake a quiz a week later because she forgot to record the answers. She hates students and will do anything to stay away from them.

She may not be an overly friendly lady, but she does a great job actually teaching the material. She's not very flexible and it's her way or the highway (and she'll tell you that)Her notes are organized, and she explains things in a way that you can really understand them. She does talk SUPER fast, so record her lectures.

Those prior comments are not consistent. Two A's and one student aleady with a 4 year degree in Biology and other a Premed Major (PA) - who had Seitchik previously. Seitchik is old school, set in her ways and narcissistic. Rambles with numerous powerpoint slides, and no text. Does LaSalle use her to Weed out due to many drop or fail out. VERY SAD.

Everyone complains about her and claims they don't like her but to me she explains things very well and is crystal clear. However, her tests are loaded, long, and very tedious. Besides that she's a fabulous teacher.

Honestly she is not that bad! She goes pretty quick in lectures and her exams are very long and filled with info. But if you study and take notes you'll be fine. It is after all a COLLEGE COURSE!

TERRIBLE teacher. Do not ever take her. She is a horrible teacher, gives very confusing notes, and even if you study from the power points which are ridiculously long, you will still do terrible unless you're a genius and can pass a class without actually learning a thing in the lecture.

Tough class but she offers study guides and practice tests. DO THEM! also to as many SI sessions as you can because its the only way you will understand and do well. Her tests are half scan-tron, half essays but you don't know what the essays are!!! That's where she gets you but they usually come from a study guidepractice test. so STUDY!!

She is the absolute worst professor you can take. You are better off not even listening to her lectures and studying the textbook yourself. Either way you will fail, because the tests are made up of material never taught by her or in the textbook. Forget asking to meet with her for help, the most time she can spare for her students is two minutes.

Without a doubt in my mind the WORST teacher I've EVER had. It's almost like she wants you to fail. Lectures 300 mph, gives a test on 7 major topics at a time, and instead of asking relevant "big picture" concept questions she instead will ask the most irrelevant and specific questions she can think of. Honestly don't know how she is employed.

Worst experience with Biology yet, and it is my major. Dr. S knows what shes teaching but expects too much on a test. Any thing she says is a posibility for a test, even if it was said once. Test all multiple choice and diagrams but very confusing. No amount of studying will help you.

She covers a lot of material! In class, if you can, address anything that seems unclear to you. That was where I went wrong. You must study, because she asks loaded questions (few questions worth many points). Do NOT underestimate her tests.

SHE IS A TOUGH PROFESSOR AND USUALLY THE PEOPLE WHO COMPLAIN ABOUT HER ARE THE ONES WHO DON'T STUDY ENOUGH. SHE WILL PREPARE YOU FOR GRAD SCHOOL. ALSO, JUST STUDY HARD AND ATTEND CLASS AND YOU WILL BE FINE.

Dr. Seitchik is honestly one of the worst teachers ive ever had. she does not explain anything and she flies through 84 slide powerpoints in an hour. sapling homeworks do not match material so youll have to teach yourself

She flies through the material in class. Has difficult exams and is a tough grader. She always thinks of the worst in people and thinks that everyone is going to cheat and tells you what to wear during exams. Also, if you have a question don't bother asking because she'll tell you to figure it out yourself. She's not very clear either.

STUDY EVERYTHING!!! Literally, anything could be on the exams. She offers study guides, but asks irrelevant questions on the exams. The questions are too specific and multiple choice is extremely hard. Also, she's confusing during lectures and goes through it pretty fast. She also doesn't clarify if you have a question, so you're on your own

She does talk fast, but if you don't understand she will explain. She's pretty funny and doesn't like getting asked stupid questions. Just pay attention in class, don't play on your phone, and don't ask stupid questions and you'll do fine.

Dr. Seitchik knows a lot; she also expects you to know a lot. Her study guides are not helpful at all. It's a list of terms that you should know before class. She is disrespectful towards students, especially when they ask her questions. Attend every class and STUDY EVERYTHING. Her exams are difficult and she has a weird dress code for exam days.

Yes, lecture heavy but captivating! She is very clear and answers questions. Has a great personality and offers practice tests, outlines,extra credit, study guides and in class review for tests. Nothing on the tests are a surprise, studying is necessary but it is possible to get a good grade! Super understanding of her students!

Use her study guides. If you memorize the open ended questions on her study guides then you will be okay, they make up 50% of the points on her exams. She offers 5 points extra credit for every exam. You have to memorize her powerpoints and really put the work in if you want to do well. If you need help go to her office hours b/c she will help!

She is extraordinarily unnaturally and appallingly rude. I do not get what her problem is. She gives random grades out no matter how hard you study. You always need to go talk to her boss to get any reaction or understanding from her. Her test is not hard but you are always uncertain about if she is grading correctly. this class was a nightmare!! content was very interesting, but exams are incredibly unpredictable. majority of the class will get a C or less unless you really know your stuff. glad she switches out with dr ballough in the middle of the semester or else i would've failed. pay attention (good idea to record her lectures), & don't ask dumb questions.
