Funny and intelligent

There may very well exist a Callanan Fan Club. It would be extremely hard not to like this guy. And when everything is said and done, you've learned something.

This is the first and only 8 A.M. class that I look forward to going to. He makes his teachings easy to understand. Open book/notebook test. The only way to not get an A is to skip class.

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST PROFESSOR AT WEST CHESTER!!! Definitely take him if you want an A. He also has the funniest stories. I took him two times and the second time at 8:00 in the morning, and it was still an very exciting class. He is also very helpful and you learn a lot of concepts that you will use in the business world.

He is a great prof. Take good notes and you'll do great on the tests considering they are open notes. He tells awesome stories too. He's a nice guy and you can tell he knows what he's talking about unlike some other profs. If you are going to take an 8am class take it with him.

I do not care if it is 8am, suck it up for one semester and make sure you take this mans class. Do not miss a class because the test are open note, and you better write everything from your notes on the test. Finally, a professor with "real world" experience and great stories to go with all parts of the course, and funny ones to keep you awake.

Took him for mgt313 in Spring 2011. Fantastic professor. You know what to expect on the exams (but be prepared to write A LOT). I am taking him again for INB300, from 8am-10am Mon-Thurs in the summer even though I could have taken it with someone else at a different time. Take him!

Dr. Callanan is easily the best professor I have ever had. International business can be hard topic but Callanan presents the concepts so they are relate-able and easier to understand. Quizzes and Exams were open note and open book. Attend every class because if you take notes you're almost guaranteed to get an A! I'm taking him again. :)

Callanan is an amazing teacher. I took him for one of the summer sessions, and he made the class a breeze. He taught from his own notes so we wouldn't have to spend money on the books, and all of the exams were open note. I'd definitely take him again.

One of the all-time best professors to exist! Seriously the best one at West Chester & he teaches! Very organized- writes all the notes in the board if you copy them you will be golden for the test they are all open notes. He is one of the funniest person I've ever met. I've never felt the need to rate a prof before but I had to for Dr. Callanan. He is honestly the best professor I've ever had in my 6 year college career. He taught me more about life after college than I would have gotten from any other prof. Amazing teacher. I wish he taught all of my classes!

Purposely took this class at 8am just to have him again. Best decision I've made. He is an excellent professor and really tries his best to prepare for the real world. I took Callanan 3 times and figured I should say something about how awesome this class is. There is nothing about the real world that you do not learn in this class. Keeps it interesting and makes you want to learn. Funny stories and as he would say he "keeps it real." Best professor I've had and REALLY prepares his students for the real world.

Without a DOUBT best professor Ive EVER EVER had. Real, down to earth, uses realistic examples from previous work, LOVED HIM. Sad I graduated and can't talk and joke with him everyday. Everyone take him, you will not regret it.

The best professor at WCU hands down. I took him at 8 am during summer session and couldn't wait to get to class. I'll say that again: 8 A.M during the SUMMER. He is very nice and probably one of the funniest teachers I've had at WCU. He makes sure to keep you interested by making jokes because his lectures can be long. He doesn't want to lose your attention. Would definitely take another one of his classes if I was required to.

He provides you with the notes that will give you the answers word for word for the exams. Great lectures he relates it to real world. No class meeting days, just do it on your own time. He is an amazing professor, really cares about his students learning and sharing opinions. Class feels more like your shooting the breeze with classmates and him. By far one of the best professors in the management department. 3 written essay-style exams, straight out of the notes. Also exams are open-note (written, no computers). As well as one term paper. Very funny and honest professor that will teach you much more about life than the course itself offers.

Callanan is a character. He is the real deal, too, as he was an exec at the Federal Reserve for over 20 years. He's not very tech savvy, but he makes up for it by helping you out on exams and having great lectures with real stories as examples. Probably one of the best profs I have had tbh. I always look forward to Gerry's class. He's hilarious, a great lecturer, and can't login to D2L to save his life, so he barely assigns work (just 3 handwritten exams and a semester-long paper on a business topic of your choice). I'd take his class again in a heartbeat.

Gerry is a great prof. He has a successful background in business and is a very down-to-earth and entertaining professor. For this class, you must take notes, or get them from a friend to take the 3 written exams and it'll be a piece of cake. He's a great storyteller and you'll have an anecdote to take away from each class period with him.

Took for my final class at WCU in the Winter to graduate early. Two tests that you can write the answers word for word (he tells you to do so) from his notes and PowerPoints. The final paper is 10-12 pages which sucks, but the tests are so easy that the paper is basically all you have to do, so it is worth it to just suck it up and get it done ASAP

Amazing professor, really wants his students to do well. You HAVE to go to class because all of the notes are hand-written, but all of the exams are open-note so as long as you have all the notes you can basically get 100 on all the exams. Three exams, one paper, no homework. Lectures can be boring but push through and you can get a great grade.
