This is one of the best professors at Pace. He makes you do a lot of work but if you do the work you'll get a good grade, and you'll even learn something - which is more than I can say about all of other Profs.

He is tough, but very good!! You can earn a lot which will help you in advanced finance later. The thing is you really need to work hard!!

one of the best business teachers at Pace. Give quizzes on homework every week so there is no confusion on what to expect. Comes in on Saturdays to offer study sessions for exams, Post assignmebts on Blackboard. can't expect much more.

Is a really good Prof. Gives quizzes every week so you know what to expect. He is very fair w/ grading, but you have to do the work. Don't take his class if you are lazy. Gives a good amount of homework, but you learn alot. I would recommend him.

Excellent teacher - one of the few professors that understand the methods of teaching. If you are not going to do your homework - DO NOT take accounting. A very fair grader - gives quizzes - no surprises on the midterm or final.

Teaches the class Military style (short and to the point), but if you talk to him one on one he is very understanding and takes the time to help you understand the information.

His midterms and final are the killers and you really need to understand the class to do well. He gives one paper and hw so you can squeeze by if you must. His out take is very military like and he is very no-nonsense. Take at your own will.

I don't think he is so bad. He tells you what kind of problem you would expect to get on the final. Just read the book then you should be okay.

He seesm very cold but he cares if he sees you care. He comes off seeming to be a Jerk but can be fun on a good day - whcih are rare. Personalyy got an A therefore know that it is possible. He also has favorites.

Great teacher. He is very smart. Accounting is a lot of work (in general) but if you put the effort in, you will get a good grade. Weekly quizzes and an in-depth midterm and final. I learned a lot - he is a great teacher! Highly recommended.

Hard course great professor. Weekly quizes are hard but they prepare you for midtearm/final. He always says what chapters would be on exam: problems+theory. Answers every question, up to date info. He wouldn't babysitt you, but he cares when you care

Lot of work and the weekly quizes are not easy. But he explains everything and will answer any question you have. Tells you exactly what kind of problems will be on the midterm and final. Just do the HW problems and you'll be fine.

He knows what he teaching and he cares the students if you study hard. The exam and quiz are hard, but if you do the problems which was assigned before, you'd be ok. Take him if you really wanna learn!

Very professional and serious. The best professor so far in the core program. You will learn a lot with him. However... you have to study. Pick him if you want learn accounting. Do not pick him if you are lazy.

He is very knowledgeable, but tough. Have to really earn the grade. Can get an A but would have to study very hard. He is easier on students in summer sessions than during fall/spring. Will learn a lot from his class, especially current stuff.

One of the best prof. I've had at Pace. Knows his stuff and cares about teaching. You have to do the work, so if you are a whining baby, you should not take him. Take a prof. that will give an A w/out learning.

He's a great prof. Pay attention in class, and do the homework (if you want) ...you'll be fine - tests are very very fair (borderline easy). He's very understanding and considerate of his students -- pretty funny too

Excellent professor who is a subject matter expert. Very organized and clear, and his class is 3 - 3.5 hours with no break. Weekly quizzes that will make you study. Easy exams, and grading, but requires a pretty high score to get an A. Also he is 'very' respectful to his students.

PURE EVIL.

This class was not that hard than Intermediate. Still my favorite prof. 3 quizes, paper and final. Good course, covers not only intern. acc. but also FX transactions+translations and hedges. Uses questions from CPA book. If you want to learn take him, if you just want a grade avoid. Undergrads, grow up. Hope he teaches more!

Excellent teacher. Keeps you on your feet and provides you with resources to succeed. However, you must do your part in order to understand the material and do well in the class.

Even though I'm a marketing major, I really appreciated this course and how Dr. Engelholm really brought out management issues in accounting. Excellent professor; fair grader. Well worth to take the class.

The easiest class I've ever taken. Recommend taking him in the summer, especially if you have some accounting background. Weekly quizes helped a lot to prepare for exams. The prof. is very knowledgable and helpful. He worked as a stockbroker, so expect a lot of talking about the stock market.

I can only say it's really tough. You have to struggle with the weekly quizzes(counted in the final grade) and you can easily lose 20 points out of 100 by getting two multiple choices wrong. Exams are okay if you really study the homework questions. No curves on exams. After all, it's accounting, what do you expect?

he know his subject very well.. tests are 25 MC[1 point each] and several problems..no curve.. but helpful

He is very tough, experienced professor. If you are in accounting major I would recommend taking his class. Weekly quizzes cover almost all topics on exams and help a lot to prepare for them.

He is a very intelligent guy but tries to apply a little bit too much real world scenarios to the class. His grading system is tough. I got an A- on the midterm but ended up with a B in the class after the final. He doesn't curve at the end so grades must definately be earned. Also heard he gave some people I know C+ & B-'s.

I felt that in this class, all the professor did was go over problems rather than the theory behind the problems. Strict grader (no curves) with an emphasis on MC questions. Quizzes every class that might be helpful if they weren't part of your grade. Very responsive with emails and helpful if he sees that you are trying.

A very challenging, jam packed class, made very interesting by Dr. E. We covered almost eevry finacial accounting topic in just over a month. The professor knows his stuff and will make sure you know it too by giving weekly quizzes. I recommend you take him if you want to work. I feel very comfortable with accounting after taking his class.

great teacher. i was an accounting major in undergrad. This course was a great refresher course for me.
