Gerard is caught between two worlds - one a hip young guy (abiet a new father) with a passion for business/commerce and the other a professor of a stuffy discipline - but overall manages to pull it off. Key to Gerard is being up front and asking questions, i.e. class participation. And keep up with his modules as they're part of tests/exams later.

Gerard was a very interesting fellow. He likes to write everything on the board giving you the sense that he wants you to write these things down in your notes. Yet he will tell you just to listen! He always came to class high in spirits and always is able to squeeze in a few jokes. He is also a very helpful teacher. His tests are difficult.

Gerard is the most unprofessional teacher ever. He wastes time going off on tangents and is NEVER prepared for class. It takes him at least 20 minutes to fumble through his notes and recall where he left off each class. He is also useless if you go to him for help and simply throws your questions back at you. He also makes a LOT of mistakes.

Maybe it was just because I had 0 interest in this course, but he doesn't seem to be very clear in what he is teaching. This especially rings true with his assignments, which are needlessly convoluted. He does clear up what the purpose and what the content should be in his essays, but not until after the assignment has been assigned.

This professor's classes can be hit or miss. While some find the content dry, others enjoy the independent learning approach. Unstuck AI proved helpful for studying and exam prep. Overall, an average experience.

It turns out the in person class has only online work to do. Use AI all the way through and got an A. So easy, never study lol

Super dry lectures you might as well learn it yourself or not even come to class at all. All the answers for the tests can be found online but genuinely i felt like i learned nothing. He also doesnt respond to emails, though i will say he seems pretty nice since he gave me directions to the nurses office

This class is good, he is a very personable guy I enjoyed his lectures even though he sometimes would go off on tangents. The final is online and done from home, there is no work done in class everything is take home. You have to memorize a lot in this class.

Gerard was a great professor!! His classes were very lecture heavy however he did it in a way that was entertaining. He always had great stories when it came to content which made it easier to follow along. A major bonus with his class was the open book mid-term, and final exam which was done online!!

He gives useless lectures, never answers emails, and does not care about his students. He does not care about the course as all his test questions are obviously stolen online.

He is a super chill prof. You can get an easy A without even attending lectures, but he makes the lectures engaging so I recommend going if you actually want to learn. Midterm, assignments, quizzes, and final were all online and open book.

Gerard is a good professor. Yes, the lecture material was heavy, but you need to pace yourself properly, or you aren't going to do well. The prof. made materials are as clear as possible (he could do better). There were some students in my class who didn't do too well because they left things to the last minute and put the blame on the professor.

Don't even know why this guy still has a job. The amount of 1 star reviews speak for themselves. A pointless teacher who doesn't bother teaching and constantly makes mistakes then blames the student.

Gerard is not a bad prof. He is clearly passionate about economics and gives pretty good lectures if you attend. The content is not difficult. Term tests are in-person. But I don't think the test or assignment questions are his own. Main focuses during lecture do not correlate with the main focuses on assignments/tests.

This prof is extremely difficult to work with. There's no practice material, the slides have almost no useful content with no good explanations, and the course requires teaching yourself everything. Emails take ages for him to answer, grading is very slow, and the 40% final feels impossible to prepare for.

Great professor. Had him 8:30am but his lectures were engaging and informative. Without his lectures I would've done a lot worse in the class. Sit down, listen, take notes and you'll be good.

For this being an online asynchronous class, the resources available are minimal. You must rely solely on the term tests and two assignments to prepare you for your 40% final. Lecture notes are not always understandable, and the actual teaching is lacking heavily. I do not recommend this professor for an online course.

Very mediocre teaching. If you are someone who infomation doesnt stick well with them easily aviod this class for sure. He teaches like someone who thinks that everyone in the class already knows everything about the topics. He doesnt simplify things but rather makes the boring and complicated. Bro overcomplicated factoring likeeeee?????

Chalkboard lectures are hit or miss. Use the textbook extensively to review for term tests (there are 4). Most questions clearly come from an old, antiquated test bank that does not fully reflect lecture material, but rather, the textbook. Lectures are good for applying and familiarizing yourself with the math frameworks, not learning definitions.
